We used DoorDash to deliver our meal. My son ordered a half chicken. It looked like a baby chicken. It was so tiny that he couldn't believe that was a chicken breast. The leg had 2 bites of meat on it. He ate the baby chicken, then called and ordered a hamburger to add to his chicken dinner. My husband and I shared a half pound baby back ribs and French fries. We had 2 ribs each and my husbands were dried out and burned pieces, mine were okay. but the French fries were cold and wet from condensation being placed in a styrofoam box. Then I went for the peach cobbler. That was gosh awful. It had been left in the oven too long, so the peaches were dehydrated and the pastry was burned. I have had this cobbler before many times in the restaurant and never been dissatisfied. In ordering out, it seems like you end up with the smallest baby chicken and burned cobbler. If you are at the restaurant, you would not have accepted that tiny chicken or that burned cobbler. I feel we were taken advantage of. read more

So. ... after my tip of slow service here's what I came up with. . 35 min for take out even not busy. ...All the food is ready so idk the issue. Employees were very unprofessional yelling across the restaurant talking amongst themselves while there are waiting customers and ppl dining inside. The youngest looking kid working there, yea kid. All teenagers working. .. but anywho the youngest kid working was very pleasant and respectful, unfortunately it seems the Keep the best employee busy doing dimple work like wrapping silverware. That kid shoulda been a cashier, host, or anything where customer service was more involved. About the food, pretty good. I had a combo, sausage, beef, and pulled pork. Good flavor, beef a little fatty. But overall good food. The rolls were the best though. So good food, awesome rolls, poor service. Great little family place for some big-time barbeque flavor (dine in or take out). Of course, the ribs are the best thing on their menu. But I like the combination plate also. Prices are pretty decent too ($12-$16 per plate, excluding drinks). But I love how you pretty much get to load up your plate with as much sides as you can eat (this isn't a buffet-style restaurant). Refills are free (I think). Best part about Spring Creek Barbeque is the bread girl. She usually comes around when fresh white rolls have been baked, offering some to all the customers. Although the concept is tray line and self serve on drink refills, I have (in the past) been able to impose on staff that were roaming about to get me a tea refill. Not today! This Spring Creek on Wheatland was horrible; very disappointed!! The ribs were small, dry and tough. It was like eating beef jerky. Mac n cheese had no flavor to it & the potato salad had too much mustard. Cole slaw & baked beans were good. The Spring Creek in Irving is way better than this one. Ribs there just fall of the bones. I came in because ,I got a buy one rib dinner and get one free flyer in the mail. The service was ok while getting my food.The whole food service line is in need of a remodel .All the equipment looks old and worn ;make the all the food seam unappetizing. They need to remodel the entire food serving area/line. We got the ribs and corn,coleslaw ,and beans . Beans ok ,and cole slaw good. The corn was ice cold. The ribs were below average as was the sauce. All in all ; the diner was not good. The food and drinks are way overpriced for not being very good. We had just finished up at my husband's aunt's funeral, on our trek to Vicksburg for the night, and were starving! It was either this or Panda Express. Boy, were we glad we chose Spring Creek! From the moment we walked in, it was perfect! All employees had their masks on, with the restaurant practicing safe distancing. The employees were fun, personable and treated us like they were really happy we had come in! And the food ... it was delicious! We both got brisket, having mac & cheese, coleslaw and beans as our sides. All so yummy! Lots of tender brisket, but just one roll. A gal then walked by with a basket of warm, just-baked rolls, offering us one. Loved this restaurant and will definitely return again, when in the area. read more

Been craving BBQ all week, so I stopped here on my home, just to get some quick, they are truly overpriced, but I was hungry, and it is decent. The staff is friendly, they ate mostly high school aged, but informative. They ran out of chicken, and you cannot get ribs with the sandwhich/baked potato option. Regular customer at this location and I was appalled at the wasted food and dried up stains/drippings on the counters in the serving line, booths, and floors were filthy and the employees didn't seem to care about cleanliness. I had to inquire about my fries after waiting for more than 20 minutes and the employee returned to tell me, "He just drop them in"...What?! Overall, the food was delicious and we enjoyed the fresh out the oven bread. Not sure if we go back to that location anytime soon. For the price of the food, a thorough cleaning of the diner is definitely in order and a sense of pride need to be restored within the employees. read more

I always loved coming to this location of Spring Creek and ordering the ribs. If you live in the area they always send out "buy one, get one free" rib dinners in the mail which is always nice. My family uses these coupons every month they come out. The bar-b-que is really good and the sides go perfectly with it. I will always suggest getting the ribs or brisket. Usually the service is really good, and there are unlimited sides and an employee that walks around every 20-30 minutes with fresh bread. So even if you eat all your food, you can continue to fill your plate with sides or bread. You WILL leave here full. I gave them 3-stars because I've been to this location since like the early 2000s and for the past year or so it has been on a decline. Cleanliness is a hugeeeee factor for me but because I've been here like 50 times and have hardly ever had a problem with them, I will not give them a bad review based on my last few experiences. I went here recently and there were people that were complaining of roaches underneath their table and asking for refunds. The manager or worker placed a sign on the table that pretty much said "don't sit here" and that was that. Furthermore, the bathrooms were pretty nasty as well, and there was no one going around giving out bread. So yeah, I don't know if there are some issues going on but that was pretty disgusting. Also, the food portions have steadily declined and quality of the food has as well. They also will run out of ribs so if you're really craving, get there early. read more

One of the most UNSANITARY and DISGUSTING things I witnessed today is how the customers get their own ice from the in-counter ice machine. Someone walked up to add more ice to their glass, added too much, and then poured the overage back in. YUK!!!! The scooper also touches everyone's glass on the mouth part and it is constantly being used. I did mention it to the Manager how this is unhealthy and could possibly pass illnesses along and he simply replied that it was an old store. OK. Other than that, the food was great! read more

Look up to notice the air vent probably hasn't been cleaned since the building was built. 2. no flatware was set up or ready for business. 3. Ordered a half slab of ribs, got three. ordered chopped beef sandwich mostly bun. 4. Got down to the serving bar and it hasn't been wiped off for some time, macaroni emptied and along the bar. 5. No glass of ice, and soda machines sodas was flat. Ask four separate times (minutes in between) for the fix. Finally done after eating was over. 6. No straws. 7. Cashier very rude, most the rest of the help is in need of customer relations. PS I never said or ask anything except, is the soda machine fixed yet. Was very upset with this place......All I wanted was a to go order and was told that I could not be in line, that I had to go to a different register....I wanted to dip or get my own veggies like everyone else did but was told that if it was to go I was not allowed to do that.....When I submitted to that idea I decided not to take any veggies and the manager man then dumped my meat that was already in a to go container into a piece of foil and threw the to go container away and tried giving me the wrapped up meat and was told to go to the other register.........Next time I will just get it for there so that I get to pick and choose which veggies I would like to have.....(If there ever is a next time)then just tell them I need a to go box lmao read more

Risky health practices; no response from management I contacted Spring Creek BBQ management several days ago in order to give them time to fix some risky health-related issues but got no response so I guess they are not interested. The A/C in the main dining room was out, so it was hotter inside the restaurant than outside in the middle of July in Dallas! There were no signs posted to warn patrons who might have health related issues that get worse if they are in a very hot environment. Also, the banana pudding desserts were sitting out in the heat instead of being kept cold. They contact milk and eggs - products that promote bacteria growth if not properly stored. The banana pudding my husband paid almost $4.00 for was warm. Needless to say, he paid the price the next day! If you order certain sides with your meal, it would be nice if the employees advised you up front of any additional cost, or if the signs mentioned such add-on prices. Nope. You get the surprise when you get to the end of the line at the cash register. Bait and switch? Or just bait? I ordered the okra but no one told me it would cost me an additional $3.95 until I got to the register. I tried to cancel the order, but the cashier said she would instead charge me only $2.35 for the cole slaw I got. It would have been nice to know in advance that the okra is so expensive. When it arrived, it was so greasy that we could only down a few bites before pushing it away. After that, everything we ate tasted of the same old grease! Yuck! Ladies, be very careful where you put your expensive purses! One of the lazy employees didn't want to walk around our table while handing out dinner rolls, so she dropped one right inside my expensive purse - leaving grease all over the contents. No apologies! The prices went up when the food portions went down. The ribs were NOT as meaty as they used to be, and there were fewer of them on our plates. They were out of corn on the cob when we were there. If management had bothered to respond to my email and assure me the problems were being addressed, I would not have written a negative review. However, I feel it is important for other diners to know what they might experience at this particular South Dallas location. read more

I am impressed. Drove through Texas and my friend took me here as it was convenient off I-20. The unlimited bread was the best I've had. Got the sausage and beef special and both were flavorful. I ordered the rib plate and was very disappointed. The meat was tough and wouldn't come off the bone. I ordered the fried okra basket and when it came out the okra was sitting in grease. The customer service was worse than the food. The guys serving the food are always friendly but once you reach the cashier it all goes down hill and don't even get me started on the bread lady... she gave others bread as it was coming out of the oven but when I went to the counter to get bread she said I had to wait till they walked around with the bread basket.. I've been coming here for years. Great brisket, great sides, my son loves the ribs, and my wife loves the southwest salad. The freshly made hot rolls they bring to the table are incredibly good. One word of caution. If you like a chopped beef sandwich, they used to just slice off the brisket, chop it quickly, and then pile it on a bun. Worked really well, which is why it's the way most barbecue places do it, from mom and pop places to big chains. Apparently someone decided they could make the line move faster by chopping the beef in advance and putting it in a pot on a steam tray. The result is fine if it just went into the pot, not so good if it went into the pot a while back. If you want a brisket sandwich, play it safe, order it sliced instead of chopped. Messing with the chopped beef is why they only got 4 stars instead of 5. read more

Will NEVER go here again! Ordered desserts for Christmas over the phone a few days ahead. They said they closed at 5:00pm. I said I could be there straight up 5:00pm and the lady said 'no problem'. Husband got there right at 5:00 and the manager, JOHN GRIFFIN, wouldn't let my husband in...even when there were many people still inside finishing their meal! Normally, we love Spring Creek BBQ (other locations in dfw), however at this location, and for $35.00, we received 1 order sliced thin brisket and Meat Combo and sides. When the cashier opened the container to repeat my order out loud, I said to her..."Why are your portions so small?" She just starred at me with no answer and continued to read my order out loud. If this wasn't enough, the sides were so small I thought I purchased a Kid's Meal. As for the portions of meat (the chicken legs resembled that of a pigeon) the sausage was so small I could hold it in the palm of my hand, and I have small hands, and the sides were beyond small for the price. The bread rolls were larger than the meat portions. The taste was typical Spring Creek and the Banana Pudding was an absolute disaster, to say the least; It was a chemically induced pile of "fluff" with at least 1-2 vanilla wafers and 1/2 banana and the rest was artificial fluff. When I took a small spoonful to taste, the pudding had a slight fizz sensation to it which told me, stearic acid of some type to preserve the pudding, I guess, I could be wrong, but I thought any moment I was going to foam at the mouth from the effervessence... Yeeeech! We will never, ever, never, never, ever waste our time or money at this location. I cannot believe I'm having to write this review, but I felt someone had to say something. Didn't realy care for this place when I was a kid in the 90's. But as I've gotten older into my 20's I really have fell in love with this place. I go with my dad everytime they send a coupon for buy one meal get one free lol. I get the ribs and chicken, the bbq sauce is great and its all you can eat sides, I always get the slaw,beans, potato salad mac and cheese. I ordered a catered lunch yesterday over the phone for pickup today at lunch. It was pretty simple - 16 of the brisket baked potato. Trusting that they know how to complete an order I head to my prospective client's office. It wasn't until some of the first people had begun eating that I realized they completely forgot the brisket! Which is kind of the bulk of the meal and definitely the bulk of the expense. On top of that they didn't include any plastic flatware, plates, or napkins. Also, no ice or cups for the 2 gallons of tea. Soooooo when I call to ask about the missing brisket the girl commented on how they realized right after I left that they didn't give me the large container of meat. Um, why didn't they contact me when they realized their mistake?? I had left my number the previous day when I placed the order. I took the risk of missing my decision makers to go back to get the brisket only to arrive to no apology or explanation or even a free dessert. That is NOT what I call customer service. I was really disappointed by everything except the food. I will say the food was excellent. The rest of it? Not so much. read more
