Chopped Beef Sandwich
Donye W.

This place has been my only BBQ spot for almost 10 years. Never have I been disappointed. Chopped beef bbq sandwich and the chop baker are my go to's! Bbq sauce so good, and ill get some sausage if im feeling indulgent! So good. Nothing more to say on this one but this is the only BBQ i will go to! They satisfy me with those 3 items so well i dont even branch out to other places!

Pork is really good here. Enough to take leftovers home for a snack later. BBQ sauce is seasoned well also.

BBQ SAUCE delishhhh 10/10 Pork ribs were very tasty Brisket -- 9/10 Great service, good ambiance 100% coming back

I think they should be ashamed. That wasn't seasoning, that is old grease
Lauren W.

Kids chicken strips cooked in old grease- all the black specs look like it could be seasoning but in actuality it was not. Throwing it straight into Styrofoam made it burn holes and made everything be greasy in the bag. My son could stomach eating the potatoes. My baked potato did not have real bacon bits that they advertise. The meat seems like the kind you heat in the microwave. Nothing about it struck me as fresh. There were very few green onions and the meat was thinly spread across the top to look like the extra meat I paid for. I'm sure I wouldn't feel comfortable ordering again. It's super crazy to see places not think about their customers and it's so disgusting and inconsiderate. A medical condition is why I had to order- I will definitely get somewhere else next time.

This is supposed to be dirty rice. Why are they playing like this

The food is overpriced with no flavor. The staff has no idea, culturally how to prepare the food they are making because what the serve and the taste don't make sense. Year's ago, this place had good food but they fell off in the past 4 years - it's literally disgusting now

"Peach cobbler" HORRIBLE. Tasted undercooked lots, peaches weren't even good
Junie K.

Ordering at the drive through could most definitely use improvement, the young woman who's at the window was very sweet but the ones who take your orders had me questioning why I came initially before I got to the window. Anyways, I ordered the loaded baker with sour cream on the side and also peach cobbler. The potato was good but doesn't compare to others I've had, lack of sauce just felt like I was eating a plain potato after the few drops of bbq my order received were gone. The peach cobbler was one of THE worst I've ever had. I couldn't do more than two bites, it was literally undercooked, the "crust" melted right in my mouth and overall just horrible flavor peaches are most definitely canned they had a dusty scent to them. Wouldn't return and I definitely don't recommend the cobbler I threw it away could only enjoy half of my meal since it wasn't good with sauce so threw that away as well.

The stuffed baked potato I ordered came out fast, hot, and PERFECT! ....and the service was excellent. The young lady working the counter was so courteous and prompt. My only regret is....I inhaled WAY too many calories in one sitting. I ate the entire potato and that thing was gigantic! Oh well, life goes on...

The food was good. It isn't anything wrong with a decent bbq place that can deliver the basics in a nice way. The areas that I was impressed with were the potato salad, mash potatoes, and jalapeño bbq sauce. The catfish could've used more or better batter. Green bean were from a can and there is nothing wrong with that. Just add your own touch of flavorings. The macaroni was on the too soft side for me, but is a good option. The brisket Was cooked well but was better with the bbq sauce than without. The turkey was really good. The meat was room temperature unfortunately. The interior of the place is charming. The staff was very helpful and offered quick service! Great job to them, especially the new guys that were just hired.

Sides mixed up.

Food is good. Service is horrible. Packaging spilled immediately of me getting into my car and my 2 different sides were not separated ... beans with coleslaw. Beans tasted pretty sour as well.

a hand holding a piece of bread

I order a "BBQ" sandwich but there was no bbq ' i dont know if its because we went before closing and they were on a rush to go ' that they serves us as whatever ' , my first time there and no good experience , OH ! AND FOOD WAS COLD.

We came a little earlier and there was already a long line. I heard that if you order in advance, you can skip the line. While you wait, the employees walk around and you can order a drink. Which is nice if you're waiting a while and it gets hot. The employees were all very nice and ambiance is how you would expect a regular bbq restaurant to be. There are plenty of seating outside but limited inside. The seats are all first come first serve, so usually the inside seating runs out first. We ordered 1/2lb ribs, 1/2lb brisket, 1/2lb sausages, and some sides like Mac&cheese, beans, loaded potato, cobbler, etc. total was about $120 after tip. The food was very delicious and worth the drive. Although, I will say that it doesn't taste that much different from my other favorite bbq restaurants. I was still a great experience and very delicious. I highly recommend to try if you're in the area.

We went on a Saturday and showed up around 10:45, the line was definitely long and our wait was about 45 minutes. While waiting outside there is water and also employees coming around asking people if they wanted to purchase drinks. Once we made it inside, the gentleman who took our order was funny and kind. All of the employees were very friendly and helpful. My fiancée is a lover of BBQ so he wanted to order almost everything on the menu. We ordered brisket, garlic sausage, pork ribs, the whole chicken, baked beans, Mac and cheese, and apple cobbler. My favorites were the pork ribs and apple cobblers. His favorites were the ribs, brisket, cobbler, and baked beans. I loved the cobbler so much I placed an additional order to go.

I ordered the ribs in the jalapeño cheddar sausage, but got the brisket with sausage.. very happy they mixed that one up because the brisket was extremely juicy tender and had a great flavor on that bark. We were looking forward to trying this restaurant while staying at a hotel in Houston for medical treatments. We had it delivered to our hotel and sadly it wasn't the best experience. When we got our order to the room we were missing one side that we ordered. We got Mac n cheese, green beans and potato salad with a brisket/smoked chicken combo and a brisket/ribs. I was shocked to see two pieces of brisket and a chicken breast for $28. Maybe it was an off night but the quality just wasn't there. All the food was cold (our fault bc we ordered it for delivery) and was lacking flavor. Overall, we'd rate it like this: Brisket 3/5 Chicken 2/5 Mac n cheese 1.5/5 Green beans 3/5 Ribs 3/5 Potato salad 2/5 Maybe they were having a bad night but I wish our experience was better.

My partner had the brisket sandwich with potato salad and a small helping of pickles and pickled red onions and I had the pulled pork tacos. My partner said the brisket sandwich was okay, but we both agreed that the potato salad was fantastic! The potato salad was way better than the one at Pappas Barbecue. The taste of the pulled pork tacos was great, but it was honestly too wet and made the flour tortillas too soggy and there was way too much coleslaw on top. I feel like if Killen's is going to serve pulled pork tacos there needs to be three things done. 1. Serve the tacos with an option of corn tortillas because I feel corn tortillas would've worked better to give a great contrast/pairing with the sweetness of the pulled pork and sauce. 2. Serve the corn/flour tortillas on the side so that they don't get soggy and wet. 3. There are some things that just don't belong on a taco of any kind and that's coleslaw. My partner and I also tasted the banana pudding and to say it was divine is an understatement. What I really like about this pudding was that you could taste real bananas in this pudding and it had been mixed well all together. Our total was $80 after tipping, which is a little pricey for some of the items, but honestly I would definitely come back to Killen's Barbecue when I was in the mood for barbecue.

The brisket itself was good, but next time I'd definitely request lean meat. The jalapeño sausage was the standout for me -- really flavorful and highly recommended. The cornbread and potato salad were both solid sides and complemented the meal well. The biggest downside was the BBQ sauce selection. The sauces leaned way too sweet for my taste. I tried the coffee bourbon sauce and personally did not like it at all. Overall, some really good food items, but the sauces were a miss for me.
