I have been in the Maple Valley area for about year and half and have tried every Asian restaurant for a 20 miles radius. I know what good Asian food taste like, having lived in Hawaii for many years. I have yet to find a restaurant that meets those expectations. The other night as I was driving through the Fred Meyer parking lot I noticed the Spring Kitchen Vietnamese restaurant, I figured what the heck I will give it a try. I had been by the place many times but never paid attention. Three of us went in and had three different plates and ordered a plate to go. The food was excellent. I tried a little of the other dishes at the table and all three were as good as I have found in other excellent Asian restaurants. I would not call the place a Chinese restaurant because it is not one. They do serve those kind of plates but they have other plates that set them aside from being Chinese. If you like mild Asian food great, but if you want HOT SPICEY Asian, tell the waiter and it can bring tears to your eyes. When you find a Asian restaurant that can serve both mild and hot plates that tells me a lot about the cooks working their. They are good. A lot of places just add hot peppers to your food to spice it but not these guys. The menu went for 1 to 5 on spicy. I asked the cook if he had a10 and yes he did. I had the 10 my companions had meals with a 1&2. YES GREAT FOOD and I will be back for more. read more

I can't comment on anything here besides their Pho, but the Pho is great! I've never eaten at the restaurant - I always get my food to go - so I can't comment on the "dine in" experience, but the carry out service is great. I've never had to wait more than 7 minutes for my take out order, and they're always super friendly. I love the taste of the pho - great flavor, and good spicing. read more

Disappointing. Tasteless. Pho was bland with undercooked noodles. Spring rolls were all noodles with maybe one piece of tofu and lettuce. They were wrapped so poorly (probably because of so many noodles) that they ripped and fell apart when you pulled them off the plate. At least in my experience it was a waste of money. read more

This is the WORST chicken Pad Thai I have ever had . My wife and I ordered take out from this restaurant for the first time and will never go back. We received two orders of chicken Pad Thai that were almost inedible. We struggled to find any chicken in either order, all the noodles stuck together like a brick, it was dry and it looked like they used spaghetti noodles. I ordered 4 stars on the spice level and did not taste any spice. Thoroughly disappointed. We will not ever be going back here. read more

Decent Vietnamese restaurant in Maple Valley. I only have pho every time I go there and it's pretty decent.

I don't get some of the other reviews. This place is great. Their food is top notch. I didn't see any teriyaki on the menu, only Vietnamese food. The kids loved the pho. My wife and I had brown rice chicken and vegetable dishes. Both were fresh made and delicious. I highly recommend this place. Maybe some of the reviewers have this place confused with the teriyaki place next door. read more

Came here for a dinner/ lunch and they always seem to have good food. The pho is especially delicious. Mango bubble tea was bomb. I usually don't like tapioca, but I highly enjoyed this drink. While there are a variety of pho options around, this is the best we've found. it is always fresh and DELICIOUS! the 4 is only because the portion sizes and price. A small is VERY small and a large is a little too large. The small is also over priced in my opinion. But nonetheless, we go back at least once a week! Love it there! read more

Finally pho in maple valley that tastes good! Broth is on point hint of sweetness with that savory flavor. Will be returning to review again but I'm happy to say I'm impressed so far. Worse fresh spring rolls I've ever had - absolutely no flavor including the peanut sauce served with them. The butter garlic calimari were good however just did not need the sweet chili sauce with it. That didn't work. The stir fried lemongrass again had no flavor - couldn't taste the lemongrass at all and the sauce seemed very weak and something from a bottle. The sweet/sour chicken was only OK. Being new to Maple Valley, my bf and I went for a drive to find somewhere good to eat and stumbled across this little restaurant. Upon entering we were greeted by two very friendly waitresses and a calm inviting atmosphere. Maybe it was just because it was 11:30 am on a Sunday, but we were the only customers in the restaurant... A little worrying I must say, but we decided to give it a try! I ordered the lunch combo with general chicken, teriyaki chicken, dumplings and steamed rice for $9.99. The general chicken was AMAZING. sweet and tangy, with a slight crunch...everything I was searching for! The dumplings were a bit chewy but the over all flavor was good and portion size was perfect! The waitresses were very friendly. The restaurant was very clean with dim mood setting lighting, and enough space to host a small party. They have a wide variety of choices on the menu and as I mentioned before it was not that expensive (always a plus!). All in all, they had a good location, great presentation, friendly staff, inexpensive and tasty food... What more could you ask for!? read more

We went here for the Pho... left disappointed. The teriyaki might have been good but it lacked the whole Pho experience. The broth was super bland and no cream puffs. Truly difficult to read through these reviews. Either folks just don't know what good to average food/service is or they're friends of the restaurant. I'd suggest that you all go get the book on Yahoo reviews, which is not only an excellent (and funny!!!) read, but also highly informative. It tells you how to write a strong review. In the meantime, this is not a good restaurant. Fair? Sure. The food is mostly unflavored. Often undercooked or not cooked at all. VERY pricey (you can get the same stuff at Shanghai Garden in Issaquah and it is LIGHT YEARS better than this stuff). In short, one notch below strip mall good, which is to say..... fair. Service? Slow. VERY slow. Took us over 20 minutes to get out of the place once we were finished. Sheesh. read more

Gave this place a try because reviews were mostly good. Crab ragoons were good and full. BF didn't like his spring rolls but said they weren't overpriced. He had a V1, he really enjoyed it and felt it was a big portion for the price and he's a big eater. I had yellow curry, I didn't like it. The veggies were huge, I wish they were bite sized. It was spicy enough for me but very thin. I just was expecting different maybe. I'm sure we will be back but I'll try something different next time. read more

As far as pho goes it's pretty much exactly a three star kind of place. The restaurant itself is very nice and clean. I came in hoping I would find my go to pho place but this isn't it... I understand why some other posts mentioned the spring rolls being plain/not flavorful... They're not bad, but without sriracha sauce or peanut sauce I couldn't eat them. Their proportions are off, too much noodle not enough (tofu/chicken etc.) or lettuce. I tried the tofu pho, and veggie broth was practically water, there were three pieces of veggies and not much else that can be said. I felt that the pho was more bland than the spring rolls. Hubby said the butter garlic calamari was delicious tho so maybe other menu items will be better! read more

I enjoyed a quiet lunch alone here. The food was delicious and the servers were very courteous. The prices were a bit higher than I expected, considering all the other pho places I'd been to in surrounding areas. Since the atmosphere and service were great, and the food was made very well, I forgive a few extra dollars here and there. The bathroom was also very nice, big points there. I liked that it was relatively quiet during the day, but not empty. I will likely be back! read more

I can not say enough great things about this restaurant! Last night we wanted to indulge in some excessive food choices and came by for a hug pho pot half chicken, half brisket, and then some honey walnut prawns, and teriyaki chicken! It wasn't super busy like normal so we got a table immediately! Wonderful quick service and the staff here is great! Tons of welcoming faces and I just know why people love coming here! MINUS a few interior pieces that need a good fixing (seating in their booths for one!) this place is ALWAYS so clean!!! Delicious, hot food, very beautiful presentation, awesome fresh ingredients and oh my goodness, this place has some of the best PHO broth ever! I can see why this place has become such a local favorite for my family, and why we will be back over and over again! Thanks for having us!!! I love the pho from spring kitchen. I usually place to go orders but will sometimes order in. When I order in, the wait staff comes to check on you just the right amount of time. This is NOT a full-service Chinese Restaurant. It's a Pho place in sheep's clothing. Prices are high and everything is sold separately. There is no tea service, soup/appetizer, choice of rice included in the meal. I ordered Honey Walnut Prawns. The portion was adequate, but the sauce was over the top with Mayo. I got a glass of water and a scoop of rice with my entree for a lunch price of $10 plus tax. Re: Pho. I called to ask if they are making their own broth from bones in the restaurant (expensive and preferred by true Pho afficionados). They are not. If you want authentic hand-boiled broth instead of package mix Pho, go to "Souper Pho" just down the street in the Covington Home Depot complex on Kent Kangley. While these guys aren't perfect either (prices are high, but equal to Spring Kitchen for better quality), at least they are authentic ( you can see the giant boiling pots from the cash register ). Spring Restaurant is obviously paying very high rent for their space in the new Fred Meyer Shopping center in Maple Valley. read more

Friendly service and speedy take-out if you call in your order. I always order the fried tofu pho with veg broth as I do not eat meat. The noodles and veggies and tofu is good, but the veg broth is SO very bland! After having the veg broth from Than Bros in Seattle many times and falling in love with pho, I was very disappointed by Spring Kitchen's veg broth. Yes, I realize vegan pho is hardly traditional and I should be thankful to even have a veg option, but it can't be that difficult to make a more flavorful broth! read more
