Yes! Great baked goods and sandwiches. Just need to upgrade the metal chairs to something Mo'comfy to fit the vibe.

    Takoma Special

Cute location, lovely people behind the counter, fantastic food. My first step in the door of a bakery I always look towards one thing, the glass display. It stands as a portrayal of what the shop has to offer and Spring Mill has a lot. The Takoma special sandwich I got hit the spot with how hot it was outside, but I had to treat myself to a little brownie too. So delicious and exactly what was needed.

Such a cozy spot to stop by and grab a warm drink at. Service is good and there is so much to choose from. I bought a mocha coffee and a cookie and both were delicious. The coffee stayed warm despite the cold wind today. This is also the only location near by with a restroom (single person, but large and so clean! Located all the way down at the back of the restaurant).

Good sandwich. Little bit on the dryer side just a bit, but other than that, it's good! Like a hearty but lighter sandwich, can't complain. I'll def come by again to try a pastry :-)

Tried Spring Mill bread for some pastry options. There is an array of different options. I ordered the cheese cake topped with cherry and a rosemary shortbread. The portions are huge. The other side of this the pastries don't really have any taste. I did like the shortbread though bland and the cheesecake didn't have any flavor. I didn't finish it. While these two initially weren't that good, atleast for me, I would try other offerings if I'm the area again. Don't let me experience sway you. Check them out for sure!

    Spinach Feta Turnover

Amazing little spot! Came here on a whim and I'm so happy I stopped by. I wanted something more savory so the Spinach & feta turnover was perfect. I also got an iced americano and it was probably one of the best coffees! Perfect spot to have a quiet coffee or catch up on emails. The service was wonderful -- special shoutout to Racky!!

This thing right here!......"Cherry Pie Turnover".....loaded with cherries and sooooo good!!

Artisan baked goods that aim to please! Spring Mill Bread Company is a local bakery chain that's small, quaint on the inside and has an inviting vibe. The interior is bright with local art work for sale on the walls, indoor seating and red tables-chairs for enjoying your food outside. Upon stepping inside the shop, you cannot resist the smells and wall/floor displays of eye-catching homemade jams, jellies and fresh baked goods including breads, cakes, cookies and hand pies. There is also a menu of sandwiches available as well. On this day, I stumbled on this corner store, in Tacoma Park by curiosity and looking for a good sandwich shop for lunch. Instead, I was blown away with an amazing "Cherry Pie Turnover!" This thing right here took me back to some of the best unforgettable baked goods that my Grandmother used to make! From the crispy, buttery crust to the pie filling that was loaded with tart, juicy cherries....I was in heaven. I actually ordered it to go, and the cashier politely asked if I wanted it warmed. Danger! Why did I say, yes!.....This is what was the set up and what got me. Lol. I literally did not make it out of the store between the smells from the bag and the warm pie in my hand. I couldn't resist. I immediately found a table in a quiet corner to savor the moment that was cathartic and sooooo good. Thanks Spring Mill Breads for the amazing moment, taking me back to some good childhood memories and a delicious little baked good-joy that set me on a pace of "all smiles" for the remainder of the day! I definitely will be back to take in more of their offerings and a "double thumbs up" recommend!

They had me at orange flavored scones. And not only do they sell baked goods, they also offer sandwiches. Breakfast sandwiches, cold sandwiches and my absolute favorite sandwiches the turkey with the chipotle mayo.the staff is always friendly, and they never rush me when I take forever to make up my mind. It's a small space, but quite cozy and they do have a sitting area. Parking is street side but it is limited as they are next to a few other establishments. The cheesecake (doesn't matter which one they have the day you visit) is a winner!

I found a hidden gem in Takoma! This shop serves an array of fresh baked pastries and breads that are sure to be a winner! I tried the bacon egg on a biscuit and it was so good! The biscuit is amazing. I've also had there almond croissants and they are great! I find myself coming every weekend. The service is also good and super friendly. The space is small but has several tables and sitting. I was able to get some work done comfortably.

A strawberry not a cherry like the sign said it was
    K P.

Everything looked good. But labeling can be wrong. In the picture they said cherry cheesecake, which I like. But it was strawberry, which I dislike. Lucky I don't have a strawberry allergy. Not impressed. Wasted my money. If we go back to the area I'll ask for a refund.

Total (not including tip) came out to approximately $49. What's Hot - Menu. Excellent. It's also written in Chinese in addition to English. For those of us familiar with traditional ethnic Chinese food, a menu written in Chinese is a good sign. They have traditional Taiwanese and Chinese food like scallion pancakes, sesame balls, beef noodle soup, soup dumplings, etc... Very good variety and there appears to be something for everyone, possibly with the exception of vegan dishes.. - Quality. Pretty good. Their scallion pancake was soft, not too oily, and not too salty. I prefer the scallion pancake to have been a bit more thick and flaky, but that's my personal preference. To be fair, still delicious. Their chive and pork dumplings definitely had a delicious chive flavor. Substantial and the wrapper was not too thick. Their spicy sesame paste tofu had a good flavor and substantive. The chili oil wontons were not too spicy and had a good flavor. Again, my personal preference would have been for the dumplings to have been more substantive, but still pretty decent. - Service. Pretty good. It appears most, if not all their staffers, speak Chinese (Mandarin), which was also helpful, because I specifically ordered in Chinese. I asked them about the spice level, because I wanted to ensure it would not be too spicy for my friend. - Price. Pretty good value for menu and portions. - Location. It's pretty easy to find. Also within convenient walking distance to the Silver Spring metro. The inside space is pretty good. Tables can seat a minimum of 2, all the way up to 8. What's Not - Quality. The sesame balls are smaller than I expected. They're the rough approximation of a ping pong ball, maybe smaller. I was disappointed, because I like sesame balls that are substantial. - Service. I specifically asked for soup spoons, because we were eating dumplings. Instead, they gave me regular spoons. Not all the dishes come out in the order you hope. For example, main dishes may come out before the appetizers. This is going to be dependent on your personal preference. - Parking. There is parking near the restaurant, but it's going to be dependent on the day and time. Final Answer Worth coming back.

The avocado toast topped with a perfectly poached egg topped with Japanese black sesame seeds is my go-to order, and the sandwiches are consistently good. Their cocktails are excellent, and the bar side makes a great venue for private parties or larger gatherings. I am apparently in the miniscule minority, but I find the drip coffee a bit too dark and somehow slightly burnt for my taste. Fortunately, they make an outstanding Dirty London Fog and a wonderful London Fog Chai Latte, either of which I'd happily order instead. All manner of alternative "milks" are available as are a pretty decent selection of local beers in their cooler if you are grabbing take out. Be prepared for a wait on weekends--this is one of Takoma Park's most popular brunch destinations. Like many cafés these days, it's a favorite of laptop-wielding remote workers, so tables can be at a premium. In my experience, though, solo diners are often gracious about moving to the communal table when they notice [or more likely are asked polietly if they wouldn't mind moving] a larger group waiting. It's just one more example of the friendly neighborhood atmosphere that keeps people coming back.
