I, along with four other bridesmaids, hosted a bridal shower at Spring Tea Garden at the 5th floor private balcony area this past weekend. Everything was overall a great success and I'm happy that we booked with this venue. There were a few minor things that I wish had been better but we were happy for the most part and more importantly, our bride was happy! I'll summarize my experience in a list of pros and cons. PROS: - VENUE AND SPACE - This venue is large and beautiful. They did a great job of providing us a large and clean space to host our shower. I loved that we had the balcony space. They provided a choice of linen colors as well as simple floral centerpieces. - PRICING - We were able to secure our pricing at about $25-$30 per person which was totally worth it because the food, teas, and mimosa bar were all included. The food was more than enough and I had multiple guests comment to me how much they loved the pastries. The mimosa bar is bottomless and they were generous with opening more bottles of champagne for our party. If you shop around for venues, you'll find that $25-$30 is a very reasonable price that includes food and drinks. - SERVICE - We had one lady helping us and she was very prompt with refilling our tea pots and making sure we had everything we needed. I felt bad that she was running back and forth the entire time by herself but she was great. - COMMUNICATION - I had no issues with getting in contact with someone and I called several times to ask questions about our reservation. I spoke to multiple people and they were all polite and patient with my questions. - FLEXIBILITY - They allowed us to bring in our own food and set up decorations. Some venues are very picky about what decorations you're allowed to bring but they were lenient with allowing us to use the space we wanted. - MICROPHONE - They provided a microphone and stand for us! This was a nice touch as it was something that was needed for our large party. CONS: - PRIVACY INVASION - During our shower, I noticed that one of the employees at Spring Tea Garden had brought up two people and she was showing them our space during our program. I overheard her explaining their packages and I wish I had been asked before they brought people up to our private party. I specifically requested the balcony area so that we can have our private space and I wish that they hadn't brought random people up during our allotted reservation time. - LATE FOOD - Our reservation was from 11AM-2PM and I was under the impression that our food would be ready at 11AM. Our food wasn't ready until it was almost noon and it made us push our program back because our guests had been waiting to eat for an hour. I had to ask our server multiple times if the food was ready yet and she continued to reply that it would be out soon. Even though we had a few hiccups, I'm overall I'm very pleased with Spring Tea Garden! Thank you for working with us to host a successful bridal shower! read more

Spring Tea Garden is a beautiful venue. The food was great. The tea service could have been a little better. The tea was good but it was difficult to get refills. When they did refill, they didn't use a new tea bag in the teapot so it was just hot water. Also, they didn't serve water. I had to ask and the server would only bring one cup for whoever asked. Probably should have a pitcher of water for the tea events booked. The service at the event could have been better. It was difficult to communicate with the servers because they were busy with other events. I don't think I would book again. read more

Food was pretty good! Seemed like it was semi freshly made. I had to walk up to ask for something because nobody checked in or anything, and after that nobody checked in on us still, so we had to try to wave someone down just for some water. Came for the first time with my adults daughters. Our only tea experience was Huntington Gardens so we had high hopes. It's nice enough in an historic old building and all. I just wasn't really impressed and to be honest it could have been because it was 10am and no one else was there. The server was kind and the tea was piping hot- they had a large selection of teas. Scones were warm from the oven and that was nice. The sandwiches and desserts were fine. Nothing was bad by any means but nothing was incredibly good. For $29.99 each I would hope it to be more than just average. I don't think it's a do-over for me. read more

We went for a girls gathering, excited because we had been to other tea spots but none as roomy as Spring Tea Garden. Our party consisted of 7 women and a little girl. The location wasn't crowded maybe another party with about 12. Well the service was terrible, we had to keep reminding them to fill our tea. The child portion wasn't even served until We brought it to their attention. To top it off, they charged a $8 tip on top of the 24.00 they were already charging us. We paid, but maybe should have talked to the manager. At that point we just wanted to leave. My girlfriends and I came here to celebrate the holidays. We always go to a teahouse but this was our first time at the Spring Tea Garden. If you're expecting a traditional tea service, don't go here. The food was very average, and the service was less than acceptable. Our food was brought out and "thrown" on the table. The whole experience felt rushed and not celebratory at all. To top it off , I ordered a scone to go (the scones were actually good) at a high cost of $6. We had a berry scone with our tea so I assumed I was getting the same scone. No - when I took it out of the box when I got home it was a chocolate chip scone - yuck! What a lovely tea! Must warn you - come hungry! I've been to plenty of teas where you might leave still a little peckish. We are leaving with to go boxes. We couldn't finish it all! And it was soooo delicious! The tea was choices were amazing! I cannot have caffeine, so I am apprehensive some times about the availability of decaf. Not to worry with - there were several options. I had the coconut almond macaroon - mmmm, it was a very, very good choice. We had salad, 5 different tea sandwiches, fresh fruit, and scones. All of it was lovely but the desserts of course were the best. I think the best part was how relaxed and easy going they were. We took our time and never felt rushed. My sister and I brought my mom here for mother's day. I called 4 other tea houses and this was the only one who had a reservation, so I took it. When we arrived I could see why they were able to accommodate us. Spring Tea Garden a big event hall. There were two bridal/baby showers happening on the main floor. This is probably their bread and butter. Its probably a nice place to hold an event, but as a party of 4, we had an ok experience. Mother's day tea people were seated upstairs in one of the large even rooms. The mothers day tea was $26 and included tea, classic tea sandwiches and pastries, warm scones and bottomless mimosas. The tea service was good. Unfortunately the scones were cut in half. There were 4 of us and we each got a half. This was disappointing. The service was super lacking too. We waited 15-20 minutes for anyone to greet us and take our order. Once our order was placed we didn't see a server again until we needed the check. It was Mother's Day weekend and they were busy, but it was obvious that the place was severely understaffed. My mom enjoyed herself and that was really all that matters, but next time, I will plan way ahead and get a reservation at a smaller tea house where we could get better service and a WHOLE scone. read more

Celebrated a co-worker's retirement party here. We had 50 guests and they gave us ONE server for all of us. The tea pot was all set before the guests arrived so the tea was not hot. A wonderful friend brought her own tea sets and plates...she had to rearrange tables and chairs because they didn't put the room together the way it was discussed. The dessert never showed up. Good thing A bunch of us brought extra food and dessert! On top of it all, they charged us for 54 guests and would not reimbursement me for overcharging me! We had 49 adults and a 6 month old baby at the party! Beware...this place can't handle big parties ... so much for good service and they will overcharge you so double check the bill!!! read more

My mom and I came to this place and it was delicious ! I was a bit nervous they weren't going to have room for us but one of the manager's (I think she was manager) was super sweet and attentive . The boyfriend and I happened to wander in for lunch while in Downtown Fullerton on a Saturday afternoon. At first I thought we wouldn't be seated because 1. we didn't have a reservation and 2. there were two large parties in the tea room - a mother/daughter tea and a child's birthday party - but the hostess showed us to a table near the register. The tea room is located in the Spring Field Banquet Center, a white building on the corner of Harbor Blvd and Chapman Blvd. The room itself isn't very big and I was surprised they were hosting two events at once. It was LOUD and there was no privacy. We could see and hear everything going on, especially because one party had a microphone and the other... well, children. We both selected the afternoon tea ($18.95 on weekends), which included ham and cheese croissants, assorted finger sandwiches, fruit platter, scones with cream and jam, mini desserts, and a pot of tea each. He chose British Breakfast and I got Vanilla Almond. We both ended up preferring the latter more because it was sweeter and paired well with cream, sugar, and honey. We usually enjoy English tea but the one he got was too bland. I wish they had listed the finger sandwiches on the menu, because there were a few I would have opted out of, like the tomato and cream cheese, avocado and cream cheese, and cucumber and cream cheese. The cream cheese was very heavy in all of them. There was only one egg salad between the two of us. The croissants were also very basic and dry. I took a bite of one and didn't realize there was mustard in it, which I could not stand. We were given a generous amount of cream and jam for the large chocolate chip and blueberry scones. We ended up taking them to go but had a bite of the chocolate scone before we left. It was warm and delicious, even though the chocolate tasted a little burnt. I noticed before we started eating that my silverware was dirty, so I had to switch it out with one of the extra settings at our table. Fortunately the saving grace of our experience was the service. The servers were very friendly and attentive, both with our table and the other two parties. went here to celebrate my mom's birthday and it was such a cute little space, i really enjoyed the atmosphere as it was both reflected in the exterior and interior of the space and the service was nice! the desserts and sandwiches were very cute and much fresher than other places I have been before. There's parking in the back so that was really convenient and I did a walk-in on a weekday and they were able to accommodate that very easily. A friend and I went here for our birthdays and had a lovely time! I made a reservation and Letty was quick in communicating with me on all aspects. It was just what we were hoping for. Both of us got the Spring Tea service, and enjoyed it - the scones and sandwiches were delicious but the desserts were a bit standard and nothing was terribly exciting. There was a bridal shower happening right next to us, but they thankfully weren't super loud. The business has hats for you to wear which is a nice touch! They have a really large tea selection, which is nice but a bit overwhelming too hahah. I do think the tea went cold very quickly, but that can't really be helped. Overall, I would go again! It's a nice venue - really bright room and airy. Just note that they close up at 12:30 and open later I think at 1, so I'd recommend going as early as you can (they open at 10). read more

Spring tea Garden is decently priced for what you get, when I say what you got I mean we got an entire room dedicated to the memorial of my mother. It was a classy witch a tinge of casualty stylings and gorgeous China. Although everything was paid for, they fed us had an array of coffee, iced tea, lemonade, and mimosas, not to mention various flavors of delicious tea and high tea sandwiches on tiered plating. All in all it was a gorgeous event that I can only have wished my mother been there. She would have been proud that so many people gathered in such a grand place in her honor. I can only say that I would definitely revisit Spring Garden tea room, However if I was looking for a more intimate for just two I would be choosing another teahouse. First and foremost, I would like to say that the staff was friendly and the food was lovely. However, I was here today 5/8 for a Mother's Day tea party of 3 and this place was absolutely understaffed. There was no more than 3 people taking care of a banquet/birthday of 20 people + 4 other smaller parties for afternoon tea. We unfortunately had a lot of food missing from our tea package (we ordered the 4 course package which is the most expensive selection), cold tea (which was replaced quite later), and a cycle of asking for such missing items like fruit, scones, and jam/cream. After about two hours we grew tired of waiting and asking so we asked for the check. Ideally, if this place had better service I'd be happy. I'm actually quite disappointed. read more

Finally we made it to this place back in October 2018. My friends and I threw a baby shower for one of our friends. It was really good. We were like 8 people including a 4 years old. Not that I'm complaining (the intimate session was wonderful) but I'd love to see this place have more business. The layout is open and nothing too spectacular as far as decor goes. Simple with little cute & cheesy girly touches here and there. You'll see some hanging tea cups, lace, set ups, a "royal family" hat wall, etc. Not too bad if you ask me. The Gist: *Nice window seating *The tearoom pretty much flows right into the banquet area lobby so you can see and hear everyone entering or walking past *Service was AMAZING!! Came for a baby shower and luckily it wasn't crowded on a Sunday for brunch. For $18.95 a person, you get two kinds of tea, croissant and finger sandwiches, fruit, scones and mini desserts. The tea selection is good, we ordered the vanilla almond and ginger peach. Everyone commented on the good choice of flavors. There's a decent variety of very simple sandwiches (tuna, egg salad, cucumber, tomato, and croissants with ham and cheese). The fruit was really nice and sweet and the scones were really good, just a bit crumbly. The tables are set beautifully with fun mismatched tea cups and saucers. When I was young, I liked to dream what it would've been like to live in the Victorian era. Frills, teatime, manners, impeccable posture... I always liked Samantha the best from American Girls, but who's ever heard of an Asian chick in such a setting? :( Now, I have a chance to live out my fantasies by going to these tea rooms with roses and china and pretending like I know anything at all about tea brewing and silverware placement (um... not much). I've always wondered why downtown Fullerton didn't have a tea room amongst all the other establishments... and here it is! Most probably don't know that this place exists, though, because it's tucked away inside the second floor of the Springfield banquet center. I came here with my mom for Friday lunch and found it to be completely empty and dead. There wasn't anybody at the front and we were the only customers. Which was fine, but the atmosphere was just a bit... weird. No music, no people, just silent :\ This is by far the cheapest I've ever seen a tea/scone/sandwich combo: $16 for your choice of a croissant sandwich (ham or turkey), 3 finger sandwiches (cream cheese/tomato, tuna, and egg), scone with cream and jam, fruit, desserts, and a pot of tea. What a deal! The price goes up for Saturdays and Sundays to $19, but that's still a lot cheaper than other places I've been to. The croissant sandwich didn't impress too much, but the tuna and egg sandwiches were nice. I loved the scone though, so warm and buttery and yum. I was really surprised with the fruit, too - the pineapples were so sweet and delicious! The dessert consisted of a berry crumble, lemon slice, and a deep rich dark chocolate mousse-y type thing (my favorite!) They also have a nice selection of fun oldfashioned hats that you can wear while you eat. Our server obviously knew how to handle picture-crazy customers like me because she offered to take a couple - one normal, one with the hat, then with the teacup/saucer. I do appreciate it when workers know how to take pictures :) Overall, a nice place to come and have lunch with the girls, but this is not a place for diehard tea connoisseurs (not much selection) nor for the starving (ladies gotta keep our trim figures). read more

I've been here a few times already for various lunches, brunches and bridal parties and its not bad. My friends and I dined here very recently and we had the entire place to ourselves. Granted, it was a random Thursday afternoon but I was surprised at how empty it was. -Lunch (around $15-$18 depending on weekday/weekend): The display of food is typical for high tea, some sandwiches, scones, sweets and fruit. Whenever my friend and I see a groupon deal for tea places, we try to buy it as soon as possible. Here is the breakdown for this tea location: Location: pretty difficult to find at first. Go inside the building and look for a lady sitting down at a table if you get lost. There was plenty of parking though Staff/service: there was only one woman working. The room itself isn't large, but still....with only one person working, it is hard to get the quality service you want. We were a party of two but the waitress only paid attention to the larger party that was there. Food quality: not too bad, but very forgettable. I could tell some of the food was not freshly prepared, especially the dessert. The tea was also very underwhelming compared to other tea places. I would only recommend this place for larger parties that are looking for a place with not a lot of other distractions. You are basically almost getting the whole room to yourselves if you come with a larger party. Good for bridal or baby showers. Otherwise, I would recommend other places for some good tea. read more

This place was adorable. I took my 3 year old and 1 year old for tea. We went on a Thursday. I figured that during the week there would be less people, so better for my kids, and for me. Sometimes being with two little ones and lots of people around get to me. My daughter had the "princes tea" and I chose another one for me. My son ate from our food. It was delicious. My daughter loves the cream cheese and jelly sandwiches and the tuna and cranberry. I personally enjoyed all their pastries. But my daughter loves her own little tea cup and teapot. It had lemonade. It made her so happy. My son tried lemon bars for the first time. And like his mother loves them. Lol Only downside is that the bathroom has no changing area for children I had to put his blanket and his changing pad on the floor since he had poop. Not really good. I was pleasantly surprised to wander into this lovely tea room for my (very) pregnant sister's baby shower. For a party of 16, we were a little crowded at their longest table, but it made for good conversation. My first and main criticism is the vintage hat selection they provide. At first I was delighted at such a whimsical concept. However, when you look through the hats, it's a little distracting to see such dated (in a bad way) hats marred with layers of foundation on the inside from previous parties. I recommend to management to tape up the insides and replace every few days to keep hats looking sanitary. After all, these parties aren't cheap, and attention to details are key. -1 star. We chatted over organic jasmine tea and peach ginger tea. I highly recommend the latter, it's fragrant and so tasty. Sugar is provided for those with a sweet tooth but I savored the gingery goodness. Can you tell I like the tea? Everyone's place setting is different - it really feels like you walked into someone's grandmas house for an afternoon hangout. We were presented with three tiers of food: mini croissant sandwiches, assorted finger sandwiches and fruit. There were also baskets of scones. The scones were a hit, paired with the cream and jam, those buttery, crumbly pastries were a party in my mouth! My cousin had been here before, and said they used to serve salmon finger sandwiches. They appear to have been replaced with tuna. Our second tier included avocado, egg salad and tomato triangle sandwiches. Our meal ended with bites of berry cheese cake and chocolate cake. These desserts were kind of anticlimactic, especially after how delicious the scones are. Over all, the service was okay. Our gal was obviously a little irritated to answer our questions, but dang she was quick to refill our tea pots! I ain't mad at her. This venue is cute and we had a great time. I have been to many different t tea houses and I have experienced many different types of tea. Afternoon tea, tea for two, dinner tea, though none of them prepared me for the experience here. The staff was disorganized from the moment I walked in, they even lost my reservations. When I was seated I had dirty cups that I had to ask to be switched out for clean ones. While ordering the menu was not very clear and I had many questions that the waitress did not know. The presentation of tea was beyond below the standards I was expecting. This also goes for taste and quality of the food, I did not even finish what I had ordered. When one goes to a tea time the expectation is quant and quite, this business is far from it. Loud parties filled the room where I felt I had to raise my voice to speak to the person across from my table. The business is also not decorated in a tea room fashion, leaving the atmosphere of the time spent to be less than pleasant. I don't not recommend this business to anyone wanting to enjoy a nice and quite time for tea. read more

I love tea, and we thought it would be great to get a lot of my family together at a local tea house when I came to visit. This place was a little confusing for some of us to find since it was inside a banquet hall and not it's own shop. But we all made it. The first thing we thought was weird was that they had a rule for groups of 6 or more you could only order 2 teas. Like, what? There were at least a dozen of us. And most tea houses you get your own personal tea. Then, the lunches were about $19 each. Like, super expensive. At least if it was per person, that was pretty pricey. But I'm not sure if that's what it came out too since all the food was served on shared platters. The only food I tried were the triangle sandwiches which had super dry bread that seemed like it had been sitting out for a while. It was good otherwise. The fruit was also fresh and good. But they also served us croissant sandwiches, scones, and little dessert cake bars. Everything was served very beautifully. We paid the $5 extra to order more tea, and had the British Breakfast Tea, The Earl Grey, Vanilla Almond, and one other I didn't get to try as it was on the opposite end of the table. My favorite was the vanilla almond. But I love dessert teas. Service was good for there only being one lady working. My grandma wasn't a fan though, she chewed her out later for who knows what. But the server continued being nice and took our group photos for us. They had the wild hats in one corner like they often do at tea houses. Went to a baby shower here: Pros: -spacious and roomy -Lots of cute décorations and hats -People who work there KNOW how to photograph -Scones and clotted cream was awesome -The tea sandwiches were tasty -There was enough room for many groups without being crowded -Cute hats Cons: -Hats may be smelly -Rickety sandwich holders -Tea wasn't strong or good -Service was hit and miss-maybe 2 workers for the entire room which can hold like 65 people -Groups kept passing by and checking the place out. Odd. Conclusion, it's cute and maybe good for a very specific purpose like a baby shower, girl's graduation, bridal shower, etc. I wouldn't just go unless there's a group occasion. Didn't know the price since it was thrown by a friend, but there seemed to be billing confusion towards the end even though she had reserved prior. read more

First time for me and my group of twelve. Two of my group had the Spring Tea set a week earlier and so highly recommended it. But since they found that one set per person was a bit too much for individual consumption, we decided to order 5 sets and extra scones to share for all. Advice for Yelpers: make sure that they bring the 5 sets as 5 individual sets. They served our order on one huge tray and when we counted out the items, we got shortchanged! The manager explained and said that the ladies who came a week earlier probably got more than usual for some unknown reason. Ok. Let me go back to my English tea now. read more
