I've taken my big beast of a dog named PePe three times here. Per my thorough research of kennels this is the cheapest one per night. As a first time customer they offer up a discount too. The place is big with cameras and the lady who answers the phone at the front desk is very very cordial. Ok I consider my dog my son. With that said I'm reasonably comfortable leaving him here. The last time I picked him up he did eat as if he was not fed well that day. But I saw nothing out of whack the other times I left him there. I would bring him back in the future. read more

But it's not good, the boarding is decent but the grooming is questionable if they still do that: it's been a couple of years and I've always felt bad I've never said anything. I took my father in laws dog Oppie lo to the vet here, and they were amazing!! From the front office staff all the way up to the doctor, they were compassionate and kind. Oppie had been having cysts in his private area. At 14 years old, we just wanted to get him some relief after spending $4000 at other places. My English bulldog passed away at this kennel due to a heart attack caused by overheating, despite my warnings about his special needs. The lack of proper care resulted in his devastating death. We boarded our insanely energetic puppy, Dot, and very anxious senior dog, Rosie, with Springdale. We've always used Rover and have had a few bad experiences but I was still apprehensive about boarding our dogs at a kennel. As soon as we arrived I felt at ease and knew they were going to be safe. The pups have a large, shaded, enclosed play area that a bunch of dogs were playing in when we pulled up. The gal who checked us in was so friendly and made me feel like our dogs were going to be well taken care of. It feels like a Vet office and there was an intake process where we told them about Dot and Rosie. What made the biggest difference for us was when we picked them up. Firstly, we were late getting in and the same gal who checked us in stayed an extra half hour so we could pick them up right from the airport. She should get a raise. I could have cried I was so relieved, I didn't want to go another day without our dogs. Springdale was also $420 CHEAPER than Rover for the same number of days. I had always thought kennels would be way more expensive. Our senior dog typically loses weight if she's away from home but when we picked her up from Springdale she hadn't lost a pound. I know she was at ease enough she was able to eat regularly, which made me feel so much better. Dot was smiling, covered in dirt, and stunk like dog so we know she had a blast with her new friends. As soon as we were home Dot and Rosie instantly relaxed like they had never been away. AND Rosie has a cherry eye that pops in and out. It popped back in the morning after we picked them up! We will use Springdale as long as they stay open and I would highly recommend them to anyone who are anxious dog parents like us. read more

I LOVE SPRINGDALE KENNELS!! My family has been using Springdale Kennels for the last 25-30 years. They have consistently provided quality service. They do a wonderful job grooming, providing day care and boarding all of our fur babies. I believe they are consistent with their quality of service because the owners and management have not changed over all these years. I know the owners and management to be real animal lovers. They are constantly rescuing and caring for abandoned dogs and cats and really do care for each one of them. It is very sad and unfortunate that someone lost a fur baby while at Springdale Kennels. I understand the grief that they are gong through but I feel strongly that Springdale Kennels did not contribute to the demise of their pet. read more

I had a horrifying experience. I arrived at 12:05 pm on Saturday 12/17/22 for a boarding reservation for my 2 dogs. The door was locked and when i knocked, nobody would answer. My husband and I called them, walked around the entire building but no one would answer. I was devastated because we have taken our dogs to Springdale for grooming and had good service so I decided to try the boarding service. It was SHOCKING that they would not receive my dogs. I actually pulled into the lot at exactly noon. By the time I unloaded the vehicle with the two dogs and their toys, favorite blankets and spent time knocking on the door, it was 12:05pm. I was literally SICK that we would have to cancel our flight and entire trip if we could not find last minute arrangements for our dogs ( mind you, this was right before the holidays - it was impossible to find a place to board 2 dogs without a reservation). I have NEVER been put in a worse situation. I left several messages asking someone to please return my call. Someone finally returned my call 2 days later in Monday morning. The person was very rude and completely unprofessional telling me that I should have arrived by noon to drop off the dogs. The representative was very immature and I am beside myself that they are in the business of boarding and aren't gracious enough to give clients time to get into the building with the dogs before refusing service in such an unacceptable manner. I said to the girl on the phone that we were told to arrive anytime between 8am - 12 pm. We were there at 12pm and the door was locked. We spent the next several minutes knocking and calling to which she said. " You had a window of time to get here. You should have gotten here earlier". The response was completely unacceptable. If they do not want clients to arrive close to the time that they close on Saturdays, they should inform you by saying that you must be there to check in 15 minutes earlier, or something along those lines... ... But to lock the door when I had a boarding reservation is the most unprofessional behavior I've ever encountered. I can't possibly express how disturbed I was my the interaction and their lack of understanding that when people make s boarding appointment, there at alot of related factors and for them to suddenly refuse to accept my dogs was horribly unwarranted. After they treated us so poorly for no good reason, i would have been too uncomfortable to leave my dogs there. If that's how they treat the humans, I can't imagine how they may treat the dogs. Also, when we walked the property, there were 2 cars in the parking lot, windows were open in the main building and in the back building and all of the exterior gates to where the dogs were boarded were unlocked. I realized that they routinely leave the gates open therefore anyone off the street has access to your dog. I have clearly learned that in stressful situations the représentatives at Springdale do not respond professionally nor appropriately. There was no excuse for this horrible experience other than gross unprofessionalism, lack of training, lack of oversight over employees, lack of client care. read more

We leave our Shih Tzu at Springdale whenever we go on a trip. Unlike other kennels where he's afraid to go, our dog is excited when he realizes where he's going. The dogs all get to play together outside during the day (grouped by big vs small dogs), and they have a private run for night. Unlike other kennels they don't charge for this socialization under the guise of it being "dog daycare". Onsite grooming is also excellent and we always time our groomings with a stay. read more

The staff is amazing. Kind and always gentle I take my one year old Cocker Spaniel to play and interact with other dogs weekly. Their grooming service is better than anything we've experienced locally is less expensive as well. Ask about their pre-paid packages or their shampoo/daycare combo service....you cannot go wrong with dropping off your pooch first thing in the morning, let them run and play all day, then get a bath and blow dry before coming home! Problem 1: The on-site Vet is a weirdo. He walked into the small lobby where one of my dogs, daughter and I were waiting to check in and squared off with my German Shepherd mix pup in a very menacing manner, sort of lounging at us. I was weirded out and my dog gave a little {step off buddy} grumble. The Vet proceeded to tell my 4 year old daughter "Oooh, he wants to bite me. If that dog bites me I'll turn him into hot dogs. Do you like eating hot dogs?" Whaaaat? I called him out, told him he lounged at us and since he's a Vet should know you don't approach a dog like that, and that his comment was really inappropriate. My daughter was on the verge of tears. I made sure the girl checking us in knew I did not want that Vet having any contact withe my dogs. He's apparently retired and rents a desk there and makes random and offensive comments to lots of clients. Problem 2: Our older dog, who was in picture perfect health and had gone to the Vet before going to the kennel, came home with a quarter sized red patch on his face and half dollar sized patch on his back which turns out was a bacterial infection (likely ringworm) which resulted in a $200 Vet bill. Awesome. I called the kennel and the on-site manager had offered to call in one of their Vets for free but didn't want to get Dr. Socially Reprehensible and feared the other Vet may be worse. Plus, we would have had to wait a day and the two red spots had doubled in size in 12 hours. In all of the times boarding - in this dog's 10 years - he's NEVER come back with an injury or problem. Problem 3: No communication. I called mid week to check in only to talk to a girl who didn't know who my dogs were (Are they being groomed? No. Are you picking up today? No. Are you making a reservation? No). After figuring out who they were, I asked how they were doing and her reply was, "good." That's it? "Yes." They also messed up an exit bath reservation I made on the phone and confirmed at check in. I also left without their toys or bedding which - after I called to report the bacterial infection results - they said they had in a bag. Thanks for letting me know a week later. read more

Took my dog to this place to get groomed. When I picked him up, I noticed cuts with dried blood on his hind legs. Upon more detailed examination, I found the cuts to be from the shaving tool. Two days after his grooming, I found he had fleas. (He didn't have them when I dropped him off) . I agree with other posters who have had similar experiences with this place. My baby was licking his wounds for weeks after his visit. :( read more

***Warning!!!: don't bring your pet here! My dogs got severely ill here twice and I had to pay out of pocket vet bills both times that were outrageously expensive. My girl had to be put on IV fluids and anti-biotics a couple hours after leaving this kennel. They also picked up parasitic worms. This kennel doesn't check vet records, or disinfect it's kennel runs. When we approached the manager to try and get our issues resolved we were in-turn approached very abrasively and our opinions and complaints were ignored and denied. Thank god I can express my opinions on YELP! Relatively cheap prices but you make up for it in vet costs, tests, and medicine! read more

If you want the cheapest boarding around by people who care about dogs, try this place out. It's no frills but the dogs get to hang out in a pen outside with other dogs for a good part of the day if they're well socialized and at least the smaller dogs also have a heated sleeping area inside their individual pen for nighttime. My dog seemed not too much worse for wear after two weeks there, and they're right next to a vet's office which made me feel a little better just in case something went wrong. I called a couple times while I was away and they were always happy to give me any updates and answer my questions. They also washed the bedding I brought before I came to pick him up, which was nice. They'll feed your own personal food if you bring it, otherwise food is included. I have been using their service for 4 years now. They have always been taking good care both of my dogs very well. Jeff is the best guy there, he remembers most, if not all, his customers and always ensures that your dog is taken care very well. My dogs are regularly under flea and heart-worm prevention, they have never had any issues with fleas after boarding in here. To those comments out there, please keep in mind, dogs could pick up the fleas literally everywhere, just because you find out that your dog have fleas after boarding in this kennel, I don't think it's fair comment to make. However, it is our responsibility as the pet owners to always put our pet(s) under prevention regularly to avoid it from happening. Just my $0.02 . read more

I prefer local groomers like this one over big chains. They can usually fit in my 2 dogs with a couple days notice. We take the dogs here every 3 months or so and do maintenance in between at home. *edited 1/16/15 I've noticed scabs on my dogs after taking them to the groomers. If you're having your dog groomed, be careful not to get their hair razored too short. I've definitely nicked my dogs before so I'm not going to blame anyone at the groomers but make sure to be aware of this and let your groomer know. read more

This review is for Dr. Bouldin He saved my puppy's life. My boyfriend and I got a puppy a few months ago. Roxy was 3 months and came with no shots. We got her first set of shots that same weekend we picked her up, and the following week she got parvo. The moment I saw more than one symptom of parvo, I took her to Dr. Bouldin. To see our little puppy suffering was the scariest and saddest thing. And we understood the consequences of parvo. Dr. Bouldin provided everything Roxy needed to fight this deathly virus. My boyfriend and I did everything we could at home to make sure she was comfortable and was receiving the proper medications. After IV's, medications, vitamins, and other things we provided at home, Roxy beat the virus. Had we gone to a doctor, who knows where Roxy would be now. Not only did Dr. Bouldin help Roxy, but he also helped my boyfriend and me. We got to keep our new member of the family and he made it possible for us to afford the services. I am a college student, working a part time job, so I am soooo thankful to have found a doctor who charges appropriately and who genuinely cares about the animals and their families, not just the money. And a side note, Dr. Bouldin is funny. He has a huge sense of humor which I appreciate in any type person, even a doctor. read more

I love this place everyone is soooo friendly and have a lot of compassion. I love the layout of their facility as well. Dr Boldon is an awesome Vet and love his character. So laid back and always with a smile and a joke to make your day. I love Kim and her staff. We boarded our rescued St. Bernard puppy at Springdale, and we were very pleased with the care she received. Clearly she had a wonderful time there (she stayed a week), and I wouldn't hesitate to take her there again. In addition to boarding, we requested she be bathed before we picked her up, and she was wonderfully clean and fluffy when we came to get her. The staff was very friendly and attentive, and they even emailed photos to us while we were away of our pup playing with the other dogs, which was very reassuring. I plan to return in the future and board both of my dogs the next time we go out of town. A side note about some of the reviews complaining about kennel cough and attributing it to the staff not checking vax records: vaccinating for kennel cough is not an exact science, and the vaccine protects dogs from the most common strains of kennel cough ( similar to the way flu vaccines work for people). Unfortunately, it doesn't protect against all strains, and it is still possible for properly vaccinated dogs to get kennel cough. I wouldn't blame the kennel for problems with kennel cough. read more

Really bad experience. I left my 18 months old puppy girl Mimi here for 2 weeks; my best friend got back from vacation before us so she picked her up 3 days earlier than originally expected; on Friday jan 03 at around 5:00 pm. When they got home they realized that all of Mimi's belongings were filthy with poop: Mimi is potty trained and she would never poop unless she is taken out, so how did all her stuff got dirty? if for some reason she had an accident how come they did not cleaned up her stuff? They had all day to do so. When I called them to ask what happened the lady wasn't able to provide any explanation. I won't take my puppy here again ever. We took our dog here for a few days while we went on vacation-- and I've never, ever been without my baby-- so I was scared to leave him overnight. We had a tour of the facility (and brought the dog to look too) and it was very clean and pristine. I didn't even smell dog urine, and they had a pretty full house that day. The meaner or non-social dogs were not in the play yard with the other dogs. I was happy about that since I wasn't sure what they did with more aggressive dogs. The kennels are outdoor with a little cubby where they can sleep in the back. I was told they use misters when it's hot. We took him in and he seemed happy to be there. Beyond dropping him off, I have no idea how he did while staying there. He acted like he didn't want to leave though! I would have appreciated some feedback.. My dog Saylor absolutely loves this kennel! I recently moved from MI and travel regularly. Back in MI, Saylor used to hate going to the kennels. She would whine, be visually scared of the employees and even try to run out the door. The care and love the Springdale staff provide my dog has won her heart! She sadly loves going to the kennel and runs up to the staff members who know her by name and starts licking them. Being a small dog , she gets to hang out with other small dogs and more importantly spend the day outside enjoying the weather and in a gated playground with friends.... I've always been super cautious about leaving my dog in kennels but I was referred here by a friend and it turned out being a great experience! My dog Bentley was kenneled here for about 7 nights over Memorial Day weekend. When I picked him up he was happy as ever and looked like he had met so many new friends! :). Prices are ideal and the kennel is huge. Lots of outside areas for the dogs. I used to work at canine corral in Campbell and the facility for boarding is all inside so it's almost a doggie retreat to come here! I love knowing my dog is spending a lot of time outside!
