Four Decades of Furry Family: Why We Trust Only The Groomery We have been bringing our family dogs to The Groomery for more than 40 years, and there is a very simple reason for that: they are truly like family to us. From my mother's many Bichon Frisées and Toy Poodles (more than six dogs over the years!) to our own past two German Shepherds and our current Shepherd and Shepherd-Husky mix, they have seen us through every stage of pet ownership. The atmosphere is always welcoming and friendly. From the owner, Dawn, to Julie at the front desk and the incredible team of groomers, everyone treats our "babies" with the utmost care. You can tell they aren't just doing a job--they are pet owners themselves who genuinely know how to treat animals with kindness and respect. Our Shepherd-Husky mix is a "Covid dog"--she is glued to my side, quite skittish, and very afraid of inanimate sounds. While she isn't exactly a fan of leaving home, she always comes back from The Groomery happy and feeling good. Both Rey and Finn come home looking and smelling amazing. Their coats are always soft and shiny, their trims are consistently perfect, and Rey comes home looking like a princess with bows in her hair and bling on her face. What I appreciate most is their incredible amount of patience. We have high-energy pups, and Finn has arguably the highest-pitched cry in the entire place! Despite the noise and the energy, the staff handles them with grace and professional calm. I wouldn't dream of taking my dogs anywhere else. Wow! What a wonderful team! I took my pup today for a nail trim. She really dislikes it and has gotten increasingly difficult. I was fully prepared to be shamed for how long her nails were. I've brought my Corgi Beatrice here twice, and my wife brought our Chocolate lab here once for a nail trim. Both dogs are notoriously difficult at grooming, but whatever magic the groomery works, they worked it with my 2 girls. They even told me "Beatrice behaves perfectly!" which was a shock. Pickles is like a bull in a china shop. 120lb chocolate lab, even I have difficulties with her. She's perfectly sweet and loverly, until the nail clippers come out. Somehow they managed to give her a clip in 2 minutes. Unlike some of the other groomers I've visited, they seem to always have time to schedule in new customers (instead of waiting weeks or months) and they're close by the house. read more

The Groomery staff is so knowledge about dogs and are pros when it comes to grooming! This is where you take your dog and they come out looking like a show dog. It looks like a small dog show full of perfectly coiffed non shedding dogs. This is grooming next level. And they love all dogs and take excellent care of them! They know everything about grooming and dogs! They work hard, pay attention to detail and obviously love what they do. It's a small charming boutique with a cute shop cat. They really care about the dogs and cats, large and small. Wonderful little spot and competitively priced. They do have some morning drop off only so the earlier the better, but they are detailed but work fast. I don't know how they do it but I am thankful I was referred to them. I have taken my dogs over the years to many different places, some great, some terrible. The Groomery has been great with my King Charles Cavalier. She always looks so cute after her bath and the occasional haircut. The ladies are very sweet and you can tell they love what they do. I have been to some places that have cut my dog, or my dog is terrified to go in. Not here! It seems like most of the 1 star reviews are for cats....I don't think cats are really meant to be bathed and that is a whole different ball game. It is really hard to find ANY groomer that will try and bathe a cat.Yikes! I tried it a few times on my own with my cats and WOW. Not good! Anyway, I like that you can see the kennels where the dogs hang out and it is very clean inside. They even have a room where the cats can roam freely in the window. read more

I took our kitty Pearl there, a few times. I asked them over and over if I could bring her later or if she could leave earlier, anything to shorten up the appt. Cats generally don't do well being cooped up in cages next to barking dogs for hours on end. They wouldn't accommodate that even for the $90+ they charge. Our last appointment there, I was at home as usual waiting for a call so I could go get her. At 2:30 I was getting a bad feeling so I called. They said she would be ready at 3:20. A few minutes later I get a call telling me she isn't happy and can I come over there? I swear to God, I get there and Pearl has barricaded herself up against the door leading into the room with the grooming tables. She was hissing and terrified, and not about to budge. As I'm trying to get her calmed down and out of there, the staff takes it upon themselves to get a Vet technician from next door to come in and force her into her carry case. I did not agree to this. He comes in, shoves the case up against her and forces her in. At this point I just wanted to get her the hell out of that place. I threw my credit card at them and took Pearl to the car. She had a bad limp for 3 days, thank God nothing was broken, according to the vet. She was traumatized, exhausted and clearly something had happened while she was there. We started going there during the height of covid, so I had not been inside the place before this incident. If I had I would not have taken her there. The rooms are tiny and all the pets are caged in a very small area right next to each other. I've had both dogs and cats, so I know how it can be for them (both) in a stressful situation and that's certainly it. I am just grateful nothing worse happened to her, and am glad to be done there. read more

I am beyond grateful They we're able to take us in on such short notice. My furbaby Melo got himself into some trouble with a skunk last night and he reeked so bad. You can also tell he was so uncomfortable. I called a few places but nobody could get us in except The Groomery. Dropped him off at 930 and picked him up at 3. He's looking and smelling a thousand times better. They complimented on how good he was too which always makes us feel better as pet parents. I enjoyed the atmosphere, it's very warm/friendly. I've gone here twice to get my cat's nails trimmed. The COVID regulations here are great, and I decided to come back with my cat the second time because of how fast they were able to trim my cat's nails! However, the second time we came by, the person who trimmed my cat's nails trimmed 2 of her nails too short, and after some examination at home, we saw some dried up blood from cutting the quick. One of them isn't too bad, but the other one was definitely worse, so we've decided to trim her nails at home from now on. read more

Brought Izzy here after taking her to Carmelitas for years. Carmelitas was good to us and cheap but to far from our house so we had to find a new place. The groomery is in a great location near Branham. They did a great job with Izzys haircut, bath and nail trim. She smelled amazing after and cane home with a cute little neckerchief. I tried the Groomery because I recalled people recommending it on Next Door, and I'm glad I did! My 6-month old Yorkie puppy gets very anxious about grooming and they still did a great job with his little puppy cut. I told them that he gets really scared about the sound of the hair dryer and it needs to be on a low setting and they afterwards assured me that they used it on a very low setting which I appreciated. He wasn't very stressed when we got him home, and I think he had a positive experience. The only negative is that he was in their salon for about 5 hours, so I'm not sure why it takes so long, but I do think that's maybe standard from what I hear. He didn't have any water during that time, so that was the main downside. I will be using them again for sure. read more

With the quarantine, my baby boy was overdue for a grooming. It had been almost 5 months and I got desperate and tried to cut his fur myself as he was getting so matted and uncomfy -- he's a Maltese and was starting to look like a sheep dog. I called around and luckily, The Groomery was able to get me an appointment! Drop off was at 8am and was easy as I was able to check her in outside. I was afraid she'd have to shave him completely, but she said she would try her best to keep it as long as possible. I asked for a teddy bear face and they delivered. She fixed his haircut and baby boy came out SOO HANDSOME! I loved ittttt and I have to say that I've been to a few dog grooming places, but I haven't been to one that's been able to give me the round face look that I ask for. The cut was overall good, but 1 star for three reasons: 1. They didn't cut the eyelashes, so we had to manually trim them from the insanely long length they were 2. Price was $26 per dog more then quoted. (We were quoted 70 each, then charged 96 each) 3. One of our dogs ended up with an ear infection from here. Recently brought my cat here for the third time and I have been so happy with each and every experience. Everyone is so nice, the pricing is fair and it smells SO good in there. We normally go to Doggy Stylez off Snell and Blossom Hill, but they're always so busy, my husband decided to use The Groomery the last few times. My husband isn't always the best at attention to detail, so when it was my turn to call them for an appointment, I found out drop off is only in the morning. This doesn't make sense to me. Why would I want to drop off my dog early, for him to sit in a cage all day...when they're not going to work on him until later in the day? This will be the last time going to The Groomery. I'd rather have real appointment times for my dog, so he doesn't have to sit in a cage for most of the morning like he's in doggy prison. read more
