For half hour, we were in the breakfast room, the trash cans remained overfilled. We had nowhere to throw away our trash.

My family just concluded a three-day stay at the hotel. **Positives:** This hotel is animal-free; no pets are allowed. This is wonderful since we all have allergies and asthma. That was the reason we chose this hotel. The room was extremely clean, and we never had a problem with allergies whatsoever. Additionally, there is free parking on-site. The location of the hotel is great. **Cons:** The hotel shop does not sell tampons (which upset my daughter). One of the three days in the cafeteria, the trash cans were full and some of the food was empty. We arrived at 8:45 AM and were there for half an hour. They never restocked any of the items or emptied the trash cans. Also, on Sunday, the TV played an evangelistic minister. Many people in the cafeteria complained because they wanted sports recaps. I don't go to a hotel to be proselytized. All said, I would return here again because it is pet-free. Marriott, you should consider adding a feature to your reservation system that allows me to easily find hotels that do not allow pets. This change would benefit my business and that of other allergy sufferers.

I am in love with the Marriott Bonvoy family. First, Florida now Arizona was my second stay at a hotel within their portfolio. Lea gave us such a warm welcome upon arrival and a thorough overview of the amenities, including the free shuttle van which would transport us into downtown Phoenix during our stay and the airport upon checkout. The hotel also offered a map of their two-mile shuttle van service area that also highlighted local spots to check out for food and entertainment. Extra points for that guide alone! As New Yorkers, we often found ourselves navigating around on foot or by public transportation (light rail and bus). When we did hail a ride, each driver was courteous and engaged us in conversation. We loved the diversity of the staff. You cannot beat a hot breakfast, which varied slightly each day and was a great way to start our day. The handy toaster and the waffle maker were a hit. My go-to's were the eggs, waffles (of course), pastries, and the classic PB&J. I was not a fan of the OJ, but the water was always refreshing and comparable in taste to NYC water. Thank goodness! We loved our spacious suite, the comfortable Queen-size bed and couch, two television screens, kitchenette, and sinks separated from the bathroom. No need to wait to get dolled up in the morning when you can take turns in and out of the shower. Their 12 P.M. checkout time meant we could sleep in a bit, another bonus. The small hotel shop was helpful if you're in a bind but I wish it was larger to also accommodate souvenirs. We went on quite a scavenger hunt to find local gifts for the family. I enjoyed my stay at Springhill Suites. Thanks for having us!

There is a parking lot, parking, for free, free at this downtown phoenix hotel! I have stayed in this area several times... parking is awful. Often your hotel doesn't even have its own parking lot, so you have to park in random, sometimes sketchy lots. You are on the outskirts of downtown, so you'll have to walk about 15 minutes to get to the good spots, but totally worth it! Tons of amazing food to discover. The hotel check in was easy, fast. Hotel is clean. Elevator is on the old side, it is very slow, but that's my only complaint. I did notice some cameras around the building, which I appreciate a little sense of security. Late night wanted some snacks so we went to their little selection. My argument would be no allergy friendly items there. I could have gotten some fruit snacks lol but I really wanted something like chips or muffin. Room was spacious, comfortable. And clean. Microwave and fridge. Even has a west elm couch! So not sure about the person complaining about "crappy" old furniture. Quiet too! We faced the front street and didn't hear the cars or traffic over the lovely sounding fan. It wasn't until morning that I heard a few of the neighbors heavy doors slam shut, and by that time I was ready to wake up. So based on reviews, my expectations were low for breakfast, especially on a Sunday morning....... Almost every table was taken, but it wasn't busy, no lines for things, everything was fully stocked... AND thank you for including gluten free muffins. Marriott needs to step up their free gift for gold members! The free water is nice and all, but you should add a chocolate bar or idk a little something to feel more gold member. I also it's not just this hotel, but all of them in the area, raised their prices to a ridiculous high, I can only assume because of spring training??! ... rooms average $200.... But this weekend was at $500 last I checked. I do not think that should be legal. It's not like you are getting a $500 room. But that's a complaint directed at hotel industry, not this specific hotel! I

It's absolutely shameful for a large corporation to rob a small business. A business event I was to attend in Phoenix was cancelled, Marriott refuses to change the reservation or offer any refund or points. The "promotional" rate they're talking about in the message below wasn't even that good. If anything, I'd call it a "predatory" rate. Shame on you, do better. This location has told the corporate office they refuse to refund, credit, or reschedule my account. While I understand this is independently run, it's simply unacceptable for a large corporation to take money from small businesses, and not refund or credit when no goods or services have been exchanged.

Excellent location and great value. I've stayed at other Springhill locations and this particular property was by far more comfortable and clean. Check in was efficient and only took mere minutes. I was assigned a 6th floor room right next to the elevator. The room was spacious and furnished with West Elm furniture. All surfaces were spotless. The room was absolutely clean. The bed was perfectly made and pillows neatly arranged. Bathroom was also spotless. I was a little concerned with noise being next to the elecatorbut my room was actually very quite. This property has some decent amenities. The breakfast is convenient and recommend coming early to avoid the crowds. Staff is always nice and even greets the guests. There's even an airport shuttle service. Overall, I would definitely stay at this property again.

Amazing check in with Brett who was so polite and friendly. He was interested, held a great conversation, as very engaging, and explained everything in detail. He asked if we had questions and all this was in a timely fashion. He made sure we were comfortable just off the encounter with him alone I would stay here when I come back to town. The rooms are great, clean, enough pillows and multiple beds so my children do not have to sleep on top of each other. There is a fridge and microwave and we are super close to the elevators. The bed is so soft almost reminds me of my home. Love this location and love that they provide make up wipes and a make up towel how many times do you feel horrible as a woman wiping your face on their white towels. Thanks again for the hospitality!!!!!

In a central location for a fair price, this was a great hotel to stay at! I'd stay here again! ROOM: The room was nice, clean and spacious with a decent view. There are a lot of TV channels (Hallmark for those warm feels), a microwave, a table for 2, a pull-out sofa bed, an ottoman for 2 and the shower includes large bottles of shampoo/body wash and conditioner. COMPLIMENTARY AMMENITIES: There is a pool and a gym. I only used the gym which served its purposes. Clorox wipes were available and a sign to wipe all equipment down when you use it - unsure if that happened because there was brown grime on the Clorox wipes I used post-cleaning. There is also a hot water/coffee/tea station which I very much appreciate (green tea + honey = comfort)! COMPLIMENTARY BREAKFAST BUFFET CONSTANT ITEMS: Scrambled eggs (powder made?), ketchup, Arizona hot sauce, shredded cheese, assorted strawberry/peach flavored yogurt, cereal (special k, frosted flakes, fruit loops), milk, bread (croissant, English muffin, toast, bagel, muffins) butter, cream cheese, Nutella, peanut butter, jam, orange juice, cranberry juice COMPLIMENTARY BREAKFAST BUFFET ROTATING ITEMS: Rotating items: Oatmeal and fixings (they provide chocolate nubs!), whole boiled eggs (cold), breakfast sausage, breakfast sausage patties, bacon, deli meat ham, honeydew/cantaloupe/pineapple, assorted cheeses of average quality, assorted muffin flavors (heavy) TIPS: - go early for breakfast, either 15 minutes before or right on time. You snooze you lose. They won't restock IF it is close to the end of breakfast but they DO restock the buffet during breakfast - want chocolate milk? Empty a Nutella container into a carton of milk and mix thoroughly - there is a 4 slot toaster, try making breakfast sandwich to mix things up CONS: -I thought there was a waffle machine for breakfast, but it never made an appearance for my week-long stay - you'll get tired of eating the same mix of things at the breakfast buffet if you stay for a week - the oatmeal only made 2 appearances for the week and I wanted more chocolate nubs - no coffee maker in the room

I stayed at the Springhill for a convention nearby. As a Marriott member, it was the best choice for me. The hotel was just like all the other Marriotts on this level. Comfortable beds, nice pool area, good views of downtown. The included breakfast was a nice bonus, but it was not one of the best included Marriott breakfasts that I've had. The only hot cooked options were eggs and 1 type of meat each day. Another complaint is that the air conditioning unit in my room was obnoxiously loud. Even after turning off the fan option, it continued to go. When turning on constant fan, it still kicked off! So annoying and made it hard to sleep my first night. I loved being able to walk to the convention center and a ton of places downtown.

Mid sized hotel on Van Buren(named after the President)a few blocks from the central business district in downtown Phoenix. Aesthetically, the hotel is below average looking detracting from the historic qualities of downtown Phoenix. It would fit in more near a strip mall on a suburban freeway...to say it lacks character is an understatement. The front desk clerk did not greet me properly and claimed they were sold out due to a government event(more of our tax $$ wasted on overpriced hotels). Not recommended.

stayed overnight to catch a Dodger game with the boy. good location, about 2.5 blocks from the downtown hooters and 3.5 blocks from Chase Field. don't be fooled though... 115 degrees makes walking pretty gnarly. the staff were very pleasant to deal with. they gave us extra towels for the pool at check in. if you have a Marriot App, you can use your phone as a key. the pool is basic, but, quite warm. the room was clean and there were no issues with the sheets. AND the AC worked wonderfully. albeit, was very noisy. good space in the room, which includes a mini fridge and microwave. they had soap and shampoos but no lotion. the continental breakfast was very limited and packed to go for you. overall, nice place. price point was biggest factor and this spot met our needs.

So far my stay has been pretty nice. The lady that helped me check in was very kind and professional. As a gold rewards member, I was able to get into my room early, which was greatly appreciated since I had an early morning flight. This location isn't far from downtown and there are a ton of restaurants close by. if you feel like getting your steps in, then they are within walking distance. Otherwise, they may be a short 10 minute drive. As always, the beds are super comfortable and the hotel it is pretty quiet.

Spacious room with separate couch area.

The hotel is inspired by the colorful and folk art influenced works of renowned mid-century modern architect and designer Alexander "Sandro" Girard. The hotel's bio says he was the main source of inspiration for the design of the Andaz Scottsdale. The property is beautiful to walk around, with all the landscaping, flowers and trees; some of them are marked with what kind of plant they are. There are century plants and aloe and various cacti. The fitness center is located at the spa. It has windows which open up onto the pool, which is a more private pool than the main pool. The staff is outstanding. Savannah, who ran the front desk on my most recent visit, is absolutely amazing and really helped with any questions or small issues with my stay. The restaurant is wonderful for the hotel breakfast. I recommend having cocktails there too. You can see a beautiful sunset from the bar. I love the open design of this hotel resort because it makes you feel like you're in the countryside and you can admire the beautiful views of Camelback as you walk around the grounds and hear birds chirping. It's so relaxing. Parking is easy and you can usually find a spot right outside your casita room as the parking circles the hotel. Toiletries in the room smell so good! Lavender with sea salt. It's really like staying in a spa! One of my favorite experiences at this hotel was taking a late afternoon outdoor class at the spa/gym on the large lawn where we did stretching/light resistance training with the the sunset behind Camelback Mountain as the backdrop. It was glorious. I definitely recommend trying one of the classes or "experiences" if you stay here. Some of them you have to pay extra for, but a few of them are included with your room rate. At first glance the hotel interiors and architecture seem extremely simple and minimal, but then you realize it's actually all a piece of mid-century modern inspired art. It's really fun to walk around and admire all the understated design details at this hotel.

Turns out with the room you can get an arm band that can be for the day of check-in and then extends to through to the next day -- which was so much fun. So a few things to cover about this great JW Marriott. They have self parking which is $30 day or you can do valet which is $50 overnight -- the valet is kind of worth it because the self parking lot is a bit of a hike. Also the valet is pretty quick -- I never waited longer than 5 minutes for my car. The lobby is expansive and has two levels. They were passing out freshly baked cookies near the registration desk when we checked in! I had called for an early check in and my room was ready by 1pm. There was a bit of a line at the registration but it was a Friday and to be expected. As soon as we checked in we made a b-line for the water park/pools. There was someone checking purses before you entered -- I guess just to make sure no food or outside drink? They also wouldn't let my son bring in his football. It was already around 2pm and the place was filling up quickly -- all of the chairs around the lazy river were taken but we were able to find some chairs by the hot tub -- I guess not many people wanted to be near the hot tub on a 100 degree day -- which was great since we were kind of away from the crowds (but also no service even after asking a waiter to send someone over near the hot tub). The hot tub is huge and is overlooking the golf course -- there is a little pond there too and the kids were all fascinated by the fish (but you can't go into the pond). There was also some cool bird watching too. The lazy river is so much fun and we spent the majority of our time in the lazy river. There are three slides -- two that you go down without a tube and one that you can go down on a tube in tandem. My son convinced me to go on the slide together and it was scary but fun. There is also another pool that is just a pool -- more adults than kids. I did notice they have a splash pad for kids too -- something for everyone! Aqua Nights -- during the summer they have the water park open until 10pm. They switch the tubes over to lit up flamingo, dinosaur and donut tubes and there are lights everywhere and a big speaker with music. Totally different vibe than the daytime but super fun -- also we had no idea they were going to have a drone light show -- that was so cool -- My pics turned out really bad though, LOL. I did notice that you can buy separate day passes for the water park and for aqua nights -- it is pretty pricey though, I would suggest a ResortPass instead -- much more affordable but also so much fun worth it either way. The hotel room was standard but I think all the rooms have a little balcony which is super nice since my son sleeps for hours and I wake up early. The beds though were so amazingly comfortable -- I actually slept longer than I normally do! I did go down to Starbucks in the lobby for coffee in the morning and found the little desert botanical garden walk -- it is not long but there are some really cool saguaros and some other beautiful desert plants. The hotel literally has something for everyone -- we didn't even explore half of it. The resort fee also comes with balls to go to the driving range and there is a spa -- I need to come back and really explore a lot more but the water park is sooo much fun! We didn't check out any of the restaurants because we spent so much time at the water park they were closed (and we had to drive over to the desert ridge mall to find dinner) by the time we were done swimming. The restaurants look really nice though. Also there is an arcade off the registration area in the lobby and down a bunch of stairs -- that was fun! Biggest complaint is that the food and drinks (we only ate at the water park) were outrageously expensive -- and not amazing. The fries are pretty good but don't let them sit too long or they get all soggy in the hot Phoenix air.

Again I tipped 25% My phone has text alert and I noticed the bill was $42.62 for what should have been $22.00 max I bought it to my bar tenders attention and she was working things out on the registry and came back with a receipt that didn't have prices just my order but she had added 1 extra beer. I told her it was wrong and she said it wasn't that the first time she had only charged me for 2 beers and this was my third beer. I did not want to argue so I left it at that but I couldn't sleep thinking about it. I mean dang I even tipped her good. The next day I reached out. To management I don't mind taking care of my servers and I'm always a good tipper. But I don't like being taken advantage of because they think I had a few drinks. Or they think I won't notice extra things. This is not okay. The hotel you check into is supposed to be a safe place like home to enjoy a drink or two. The management offered to refund the first bill of 52.18. But I told him I just wanted what I was over charged refunded plus my tips. At this point I feel she had the chance to correct my bill and make things right but she chose to make me feel like I was in the wrong. After the manager added my first bill up after I told him what I had ordered it turns out she charged 4 beers the first time and not just my 3 and way over charged me the second time. I arrived at noon on a Friday after driving in from Las Vegas, and Dylan at the front desk set the tone immediately. Before I could even ask, he let me know there were no suite upgrades available but offered me a King Premium and got me checked in on the spot. As a solo traveler who had just made that drive, being able to walk straight to a room and crash was everything. He took a few minutes to catch me up on what had changed since my last stay; the breakfast situation being the highlight of that conversation, which turned out to be... relevant. The next morning, after a rough experience at breakfast, I mentioned something at the front desk and Donna, the front-end manager, stepped in immediately, not defensively, but genuinely wanting to understand what happened and make it right. That kind of accountability is rare. Saturday night brought a similar hiccup at the bar, and Sayan handled it the same way: professionally, without hesitation. The room was exactly what I've come to expect from Kimpton, clean, comfortable, and well-appointed. But the real story here is the staff outside the restaurant. Dylan, Donna, Sayan, these are hospitality professionals who actually care, and it shows. The hotel itself earns every star.

They are personable, helpful and kind. The room and area we used were spacious with tables and chairs to accommodate the crowd. Servers were busy with food replacement. Drink servers kept on top of those needing a beverage. The restaurant will validate for 2 free hours of parking. Parking is conveniently located to the hotel. If you prefer, there is also a parking lot across the street.

It felt cozy, comfortable, and thoughtfully designed. The only letdown was the breakfast. The selection was limited, overpriced, and unfortunately everything tasted stale. However, I would still give the hotel 5 stars and would highly recommend and return when I visit the downtown Phoenix area again.

The staff is genuinely kind and helpful. My next door neighbor kept blasting his TV at night and I requested they intervene. I bugged them three to five times a night and they never made me feel like I was actually bothering them. They were happy to help. They also have housekeeping stuff at the front, dried lavender packs, and shower steamers in case you want a little something extra. The only drawback for me was how much noise there was outside on Camelback Road. I know they can't do anything about that, but it kept me up. So it's something to consider.

With it' stunning mountains, palm trees and ritzy houses, Scottsdale is gorgeous. Bonus points for only being about 20 minutes from the airport. The hotel itself is beautiful with a ton of common areas to enjoy the sunset and scenery. It was a little chilly so the number of outdoor fire pits were very much appreciated. I was put in a room in the 17the or 19th building. I got lost a couple of times as it gets quite dark and the property is a bit of a maze. My friends were closer to the entrance. My room was nice but I felt it needed a bit of an update. Unfortunately I didn't receive my member benefits. I think this is a good resort for meeting up with a group or family, though there were plenty of couples while we were there. I didn't pay a ton for our stay which was good because I didn't really consider it a luxury property. A few things to note: the convenience store is only open till 6pm so plan accordingly. They will take you in a golf cart to your room. The pool is heated in the winter. Uber only takes a few minutes to come get you.

Service was, however, subpar for a resort of this type. Front desk was inattentive and did not react as one would expect when we found larvae in the sheets and on the wall! No urgency and no empathy. Bugs in the sheets is not insignificant but was treated that way. The spa had a great vibe with a nice rooftop pool, wonderful amenities and very attentive attendants. Facials and body scrub were amazing! Massages were not good. Hit or miss just like the entire resort. Definitely not at the level of the other local resorts.
