I requested the wheat berry toast instead of Texas toast, spinach instead of bacon, extra cheese and extra lettuce. Plus I got the house salad as my side. The sandwich was awesome! My friend and I stayed at the Hyatt Regency Hill Country Resort & Spa during the Men's Final Four this year, and the Springhouse Cafe quickly became our favorite place to grab food for brunch or dinner. We enjoyed the tasty meals, the attentive service, and the nice atmosphere. We went to the Springhouse Cafe for dinner with friends upon our arrival the first night and then had brunch all four days there. Three of the days were the brunch buffet while one was ordering a la carte items when the buffet wasn't set up. On our first night at the hotel, my two friends joined me while my roommate arrived a bit later halfway through the meal. As the three of us just got off flights, we were rather hungry, and we were also hoping for a taste of Texas as we were arriving from Colorado and Arizona. One of my friends ordered the Asada Baked Potato with grilled ribeye, queso, chipotle aioli, bacon, and green onion while the other ordered the Brisket Grilled Cheese with pepper jack cheese, Martha's BBQ sauce, creamy slaw, pickled jalapeño slices, pickle slices, and Texas toast. I also ordered the Brisket Grilled Cheese but without the jalapeño slices and then with the creamy slaw on the side. Between the three of us, we ordered a salad, Mac & Cheese, and in my case the Sautéed Green Beans. Needless to say, each dish was delicious!! We even came back another day but arrived too early when the dinner was yet to be served. The service was good and there was no wait to be seated and the food arrived in a reasonable amount of time. Then, for the first three of our four brunches, my friend and I utilized our Guest of Honor (Globalist) benefit for the buffet and absolutely loved the food from the incredible omelettes made to order to the fruit dishes to some amazing pastries including chocolate croissants and in-house blueberry muffins to the taco station (and so much more!). We had coffee, hot chocolate, and juices as well. For the last day, we ordered off the menu as it wasn't the weekend and the Final Four was over. We ordered a Create Your Own Omelete (including potatoes) so that I could relive the previous three days, Carnitas Tacos (seasoned shredded pork, queso fresca, avocado salsa, mixla flour and corn blended tortillas, fresh lime), Challah French Toast (strawberry compote, lemon mascarpone, warm maple syrup), and some seasonal fruit. Again, everything was delicious. But the even better part was the service. We had Julia as a server for 3 of the 4 meals, and she took the time to get to build rapport and anticipated our needs. We had a dinner here as a captive audience staying on property - not too many options around and we didn't feel like driving somewhere. Staff was very friendly, and at times perhaps overly attentive, but that is certainly better than the alternative. Food was good; we had their pork belly BLT and on-special BBQ Brisket Burger. Ample portions, but also hotel pricing. Large restaurant and a small patio, so should be easy enough to get seated. We had no issues, but it was also the off season. read more

While staying at the Regency Hyatt Hill Country Club you really don't want to leave so it was really nice to find a great little restaurant on property. I ordered the bow tie pesto pasta with grilled shrimp and boy it was good, seasoned just right and not too heavy. My friend order the baked potato with steak and she just loved it steak was nicely prepared and served with no fat. The service was great our girl was so sweet I wish I could remember her name but I know she has a daughter named Stephanie. After dinner it is a beautiful walk around the property, then I didn't feel So bad for finishing off my delicious pasta. If I ever have the opportunity to stay here again I know where to have a delicious meal. read more

All three times we were here, the wait staff was friendly, personable, and very kind. They answered questions, checked back on us and made sure we had everything we need. We were here for a family reunion with 44 people, so it was simply easier to have meals on site. Overall, the food was fine, nothing exceptional, but also nothing worth complaining about. We stayed at the Hyatt Regency Hill Country Resort and Spa in San Antonio and this restaurant was in the resort. We decided to try it. We didn't have to wait to long before getting seated as we arrived when they were opening. The hostess was welcoming and sent us to our table with our waiter. The restaurant is in a really spacious room. There were lots of tables and chairs. Our waiter was great. He asked us if we wanted to eat from the buffet or order from the menu. We chose to order from the menu. I decided to try the Asada baked potato with a side of Mac and Cheese. The baked potato had grilled ribeye, queso, chipotle aioli, bacon, and green onion. The mac and cheese had noodles and cheese. All of the food was good. The baked potato was very tasty and the ribeye gave it some extra flavor. The Mac and cheese was very good. It was very creamy and cheesy. I actually added some of it to my baked potato for some extra cheese flavor. Overall everything was good. Huge space with good service and good food. read more

We ate here three times during our stay. Food was ok but definitely overpriced for what it was. Kids under five eat free which was nice. I called the restaurant around 4PM to see what the buffet offering was for the evening and it was completely different when we showed up at 6PM. Four of us got the buffet and the two that had chicken were down for the count the following day with food poisoning. Service was great at first but they seemed to disappear after we gave our order and received our drinks. If you have a vehicle, I'd recommend trying other places and use this convenient spot as a last resort. read more

The staff here is very friendly and truly provided pleasant conversation and service to start our morning at 7 am. The breakfast buffet was great as well. A nice variety and everything seemed to be made from scratch or at least as fresh as can be (which is a pleasant change compared to other hotel breakfast buffets as late). I do not ever eat at restaurants that don't carry Diet Coke, so that was a drawback to me, but the biggest kicker (and only reason we only ate here once) was that they did not take cash. I understand Covid concerns, but it has been 2 years since we started dealing with the pandemic, and I think a big company can go back to accepting a form of payment that SHOULD be accepted everywhere. TL;DR - Excellent quality food, great brunch spread, very friendly serving staff, however, extremely difficult to talk with a rep to make a large reservation. The story starts off with a difficult time getting a hold of staff. I tried calling the Springhouse Cafe number numerous times over the span of 2.5 weekdays without anyone picking up. I was trying to make a reservation for a large group for a weekend event that was fast approaching, and I wanted to make sure that they'd be able to accommodate us, otherwise I'd need to make a reservation elsewhere. I switched tactics and tried to call the Hyatt and go through their event booking dial option. I was able to speak with a representative, but she said that she didn't handle it and patched me through to another person. I left a message since it went to voicemail and didn't hear back. As the date continued to loom in the near distance, I decided to drive over in person to make the reservation. I didn't realize that the Hyatt there had a country club vibe and was stopped at the security gate. I let them know I was trying to go to the Springhouse Cafe, and they said it was closed. This was at 12:30 PM on a Wednesday, so I was a bit taken aback since their hours online don't show them closing until 2 PM. The security folks were very polite and asked if there was somewhere else I needed to go. I said no, and that I was trying to make a reservation. They informed me that you had to call to do that. I let them know that I've been trying to do that with no headway. One of them said that he wanted to help and asked me to pull over to the side and that he'd call up using the walkie-talkie system. Long story short, I was able to speak with the rep I had left the voicemail for and she said that they were scheduled to be closed the Sunday I was looking for, but that she would check with the chef to see if they could accommodate. A few hours later she did call back with good news. The day of the event a room was sectioned off downstairs for our party and it was very cozy with plenty of space. The servers were extremely friendly and helpful, and the food was delicious. They had a large brunch spread that went wall to wall and was of high quality. The price per person was a bit high ($25/person), but I believe it was worth it. read more

Wow I had the best server ever here. It was absolutely dead in the restaurant and she was so sweet and helpful without being intrusive. Whoever is choosing the produce is doing an amazing job. The eggs were perfect and I inhaled the salsa. Refills on coffee kept me happy too and when it was time to go a to go cup of coffee ended a perfect meal. I love country music so that was a great accompaniment to my breakfast. This was the worst service I have ever encountered. My wife and I came in around 735am and both ordered omelette plates so we would have to get the way over priced $29.00 breakfast buffet. We waited and waited and after 45 minutes finally received our food. Had to beg for more coffee and ask Michael our waiter who didn't have a clue what was going on, for some salsa And more coffee. I visited Springhouse Cafe located in the lovely Hyatt Regency Hill Country Resort for the first time on Sunday. Juan our server was fabulous! Food was delicious and drinks were amazing! We sat outside on the patio in a nice shaded spot and had drafts of the air conditioning to keep us cool as the screen door was open. The Texas Grilled Cheese was stellar! Everything Texas in sandwich form! The Texas Grilled Cheese was hearty and filling! We also had the Fried Chicken sandwich, which was delicious! Awful. This was such a disappointing experience. If you don't want to eat at the Antlers Lodge (steakhouse), then this is your only option for dinner inside the resort. Everything was poorly executed from the app, to the entree, to the sides. The pimento cheese is 75% mayonnaise and 25% cheddar cheese for $10. I ordered the burger because who can mess that up? The bun was stale, but the meat was good! I ate that. My boyfriend ordered the meatloaf which tasted like pure sugar and was burnt. He barely touched it. The mashed potatoes came out looking like banana pudding. They were so yellow from all the butter, and it had clearly been sitting out as there was a thin film layer over the entire dish. I understand the price of the food goes hand in hand with the fact that it's at a resort, which is why they can charge that much. BUT this was $70 of inedible food, and we were so disappointed because we loved staying at this resort. I wish they'd actually tried to make a good meal. read more

You've been there, I'm sure. It's that day when you cut your weekend short to travel for work. You drive to the airport, put up with lines, and finally make it to the destination, tired but with more to do. Next, it's picking up the rental car in the rain and following nav to the hotel. If you weren't tired before, you sure are now. All you want is to eat a decent meal and relax. That was me. That was this past Sunday. Fortunately, I was booked at the Hyatt Hill Country Resort, which is my preferred hotel in San Antonio. Service is great and the facilitates are comfortable and homey. There is also happy hour and two restaurants in the hotel, so once I check in, I can stay on premises and get all that I need. The last time I stayed, I tried both restaurants. One is the Springhouse Cafe. While breakfast was pretty good, my last dinner here was just okay. Therefore, this time, I tried to get into the Antlers restaurant but there were not available reservations. No worry. I'm tired and any meal will do. This restaurant is great for families, as I can attest to. There were tons of families with little kids and the restaurant was loud with their sounds. Not relaxing. I ordered the pork loin, substituted rice for vegetables, topped it off with a glass of wine, and was so disappointed when I finally took a bite. The pork loin was well prepared and the sauce was off-putting. The steamed asparagus was nice but nothing to brag about. The wine was okay. The wine list here isn't one to write home about. However, I'm hungry so I resign myself to the meal. Without finishing the pork loin or the wine, I pay my bill and walk to my room, lamenting what could have been a relaxing, adult meal with much better food at Antlers. If you don't mind the noise of jubilant kiddos out for a family vacation, or if you are simply looking to fill up, this place is fine. If you want to decompress over a lovely meal with a nice wine selection, head to Antlers. read more

I attended a graduation dinner with a group of 25+ people here last night and the food and service were very good. We had the back room of the restaurant all to ourselves and the waiters were constantly circulating asking us if we needed drink refills and clearing our plates from the buffet. In my opinion the buffet is very good for the price of $25 per person. Last night the salad bar was well stocked and had a lot of fresh choices and they also had a smoked tomato soup. For entrees they had pork tenderloin, salmon and roasted chicken, and a build your own baked potato bar. In particular, I really enjoyed the prime rib! It was perfectly cooked with the right amount of seasoning. If you have kids they will probably like the children's buffet (it's lower to the ground haha) and had hot dogs, french fries, spaghetti with meatballs and chocolate/vanilla pudding with an assortment of toppings for dessert. Speaking of dessert, I sampled the oatmeal chocolate chip cookie and cheesecake and both were very good. The only negative point of the evening was the poor directions that we received from the gate attendant. He said "Drive right and at the building park and then go down the stairs". First, there were several buildings so we weren't sure which one he had been talking about. Second, we ended up parking on the direct opposite of the restaurant and had to walk through the hotel and past the lobby asking two different people for help. We were eventually able to find the restaurant but I would have appreciated more detailed directions. The breakfast food here overall is average. They had the typical items, like pancakes, waffles, oatmeal, omelets, cereal, bacon, ham, egg, sausage, etc. The coffee was not good at all. The customer service was great though. The adult buffet price is very high, where I didn't think it was worth it. Luckily the kid buffet price is very affordable. Kids 5 and under eat free also. Dining here is convenient if you don't want to leave the hotel. However, if you can, it's better to venture outside the hotel for better breakfast restaurants. read more

Had the pleasure of staying at the Hyatt Regency Hill Country Resort and during our stay here we dined at the restaurant for breakfast. Our visit here was during the week during late morning, and the restaurant was not very busy, several tables were open. The restaurant offers a buffet style breakfast, or upon request they have a breakfast menu where you can order specific plates that are not at the buffet. After looking at the menu, we decided to do the buffet. The buffet had a wide array of food, and also beverages, from mango smoothies to juices like cranberry and orange juice. I also liked the fact that the restaurant had a staff member who prepared omelets at your request, adding any ingredients you wanted. In addition, there was a location where you can make your own waffles, and even add chocolate chips or other ingredients to them! As for service, our waiter was not very attentive, visited our table twice, only to greet and bring the check. We were wanting the check and had to signal him to visit our table. Overall, the buffet was good, for 20+ a person for the breakfast buffet, I will take my 20.00 and go somewhere else near the resort. read more

Salmon, chicken, and pork dishes seemed like they were frozen meals heated in the oven. Prime rib was some of the worst I've had, which is no excuse for a resort and spa. The meat was under cooked and seemed like they didn't let it thaw all the way before cooking. Salad bar and dessert was about the only items that met expectations. Service was friendly and checked on us regularly; however, if you want good food at this resort, you'll have to stick to the Antler's Lodge or bring in food from outside the resort. read more
