"fine" I rolled into the toasted yolk because I was on my way to sprouts and for some reason I really wanted a breakfast hotdog and I don't think that's a thing so I decided to check toasted yolk to see if it was and it definitely was not. They were understanding, though they're like we wish we had breakfast hotdog. I'm like why the fuck don't you? Then they made me order eggs Benedict after I stated I've never had it before and they stated I must try it and I was like you're not the boss of me! Yes, thank you! She made me order two different eggs, Benedict the standard one and the Alaskan version even though we're in Texas. I really wanted to give this a better review but I just can't. The atmosphere was awesome. Chill vibe, nice staff vibrant place. 4.5 stars. The food however falls short. The Atlantic Benedict i got was decent at best. 1 egg was perfect and runny the other over cooked. The salmon was good and well cooked the spinach was spinach. The hollandaise was creamy and the muffin was overcooked. Don't be shocked when the hashbrown casserole appears to be a sample size, very small, mine was undercooked and had no crisp. The whole dish overall lacked salt and pepper, the flavor was kinda bland. My wife had the French toast with 2 add on eggs and sausage patties. The French toast was very homestyle, resembled something I'd cook at home, and had decent flavor but nothing to write home about. Eggs done and cooked properly as requested. The sausage patties are basic frozen patties (luckily for them, that's my wife's favorite so she was happy) Overall, I am not sure I'd come back. I tend to judge a brunch place by 2 criteria 1. We were excited to try this place out as an alternative to your typical breakfast places. Sadly our experience left a lot to be desired (food wise). Ambiance: 4/5 - Place was bright, a full bar for day drinking (closes at 3pm), clean and nice decor. Service: 4/5 - The young man taking care of us was attentive and polite. Food: 2/5 - I ordered the Rocky Mountain omelette plate while my wife got the buttermilk pancake plate. The omelette was a 4 egg omelette stuffed with ingredients. The biscuit served with the omelette was terrible (like a hockey puck with no flavor). The hash brown potatoes were a "funeral" or church potluck dish. Not bad but not great. Nothing special about the omelette except that is loaded (but again it's an omelette). My wife's pancakes were so sweet that literally made her stop after one bite. They call them buttermilk pancakes but had no tang from the buttermilk, just perfumed sugar flavor. For a $30+ breakfast, I'm not sure it's worth returning to. Maybe it's an off day but pancakes really? It's obvious the biscuits or pancake batter isn't being made here (it's a franchise) but for a breakfast place I'd expect a good breakfast? read more

Hubby ordered a Bacon, Ham, Sausage, and egg sandwich with a side of their very special hash brown casserole. I went with a Southwestern Arnold ( like a Benedict, but better and so many more choices). The southwestern had a great biscuit, a chicken tender and was smothered in a tasty sausage gravy. I liked Toasted Yolk cafe a lot! This is a great family friendly option for breakfast brunch or lunch! The menu is extensive and has so many options to choose from. The French toast sticks were my favorite- they reminded me of a churro French toast. The chicken and waffles were also very good, and worth the price with the large portion sizes they give you. The hash brown casserole was my favorite side dish, and the drinks were tasty. Our server was excellent and with it being our first time she took time to explain the menu to us a bit. You can put yourself on the waiting list through Yelp which is very convenient- or they have a small kiosk inside at the front door where you can add yourself to the list quickly. We had a great experience. I didn't realize I was missing this brunch place in my life. We went on a weekday to avoid the crowds. For being a weekday, it was busy, but we were seated right away. Our waitress was super nice and even gave us a little background on the restaurant since it was our first time there. They have breakfast and lunch items. They also have a full service bar. I couldn't decide on what I wanted, but I ended up getting their Alaskan eggs Benedict. It was definitely a great choice. The salmon pieces were thick and flavorful. It comes with a side of their cheesy hashbrowns. The hollandaise sauce was just enough to give it great flavor, but not to drowning it and making my English muffin soggy. My friend got the summer salad with a half sandwich. I did taste some salad and it was a tad bit too sweet for me, but it looked amazing and my friend did love it. I ended up trying the jacks morning margarita. It tasted like orange juice with tequila. I would probably get something different next time. They do have drink specials throughout the week. My husband and I visited for the first time this past Saturday after seeing them go viral on TikTok--and the hype is absolutely real! This was easily one of the best brunches I've ever had. I ordered the Southwest Style Eggs Benedict (my server promised I'd love it, and she was right!) with a side of French toast. My husband went with the Toasted Yolk special and a side of pancakes that tasted nostalgic and homemade. A huge shoutout to our server, Rosie; she was incredibly attentive and suggested we get the hashbrowns grilled on both sides to make them extra crispy. It was a total game-changer! If you're heading there with a large group, definitely join the waitlist online beforehand because they get very busy. We had a good experience at The Toasted Yolk Cafe. Since this is a newer spot and gets quite busy, I highly recommend using the online waitlist before you arrive. It was a lifesaver for us since we had three hungry toddlers in tow. Our server was friendly, knowledgeable, and proactive. She brought the kids' meals out first (like an appetizer), which kept them happy while we waited for our entrees. The food didn't take long, the portions were generous, and everything was very flavorful. While the kids' meal pancake portions are good, if your toddlers don't eat much or you just want to save some money, skip the kids' meal and just order a full stack of pancakes for them to share. You get more pancakes for a better price. My only disappointment was the coffee. My first cup was rich and delicious, but the refill was quite bitter. I've officially come full circle with The Toasted Yolk. My first visit was about a year ago at one of the Katy locations. Unfortunately, the only thing I really remember from that visit was the grits... and not in a good way. I had asked for cheese to be added, was assured it was there. Alas, it was not. LOL Enough of a letdown that it became the most memorable part of the meal. Fast forward to recently, and I gave the newly opened San Antonio location a try. I'll admit, I'm usually a little wary of brand-new restaurants (chains included) since they're often still finding their rhythm with service and consistency. But you never would've guessed this spot was new. Service was great, and this time my order was spot-on. I ordered the pork chop breakfast with soft scrambled eggs, hashbrown casserole, and an English muffin. Everything came out exactly as expected: well-prepared, satisfying, and clearly handled with care. While my first experience elsewhere left me unsure, this San Antonio location definitely redeemed the brand for me. Solid food, attentive service, and a smooth operation for a new opening. My wife, daughter, and I came here after church one Sunday to try the new place out in the block . This place is located off Hunt lane behind the QT on hunt and 151. We joined the wait list before arriving ( highly recommended) and I checked in once I got there and we were sat on time according to the original wait list. We had the blueberry donuts to start . The donuts come with powdered sugar on them and a blue berry sauce on the side . It's a cake donut with blue berries baked in. Donuts were not dense like some cake donuts, they were very fluffy and not too sweet either. I had the double stack omelette, daughter has the French toast. FIRST TIME YELP REVIEWER! Felt personally obligated to keep the new customers informed. **Brisket** Tacos menu item described as a "HEAPING" scoop of 12-hour smoked lean brisket. They're actually mini breakfast tacos that are about 2 tablespoons each consisting of 70% eggs, 15% visibly dripping oil, 10% diced potatoes, and 5% brisket. For $17.... Outrageous. If I wanted fried oily slop thrown on a tortilla I would've gone to Waffle House or Denny's and paid $4 for each taco. Pico de gallo and Tomatillo sauce NOT included even after sending it back to the kitchen......... the image posted was the 2nd plate after the first one was sent back. Zero changes. What a horrible mislead to portray the image of a potentially amazing breakfast with what was actually served. Server was inattentive but polite, staff were openly arguing on the floor outside of the kitchen? Toasted Yoke reminds me of a circus-like IHOP with premium pricing. Will not be returning. I was really hoping it would become a new favorite, but we left a little underwhelmed. The highlight for me was the coffee. My iced caramel latte was solid -- basic, but done right. When we walked in, there wasn't a hostess at the stand and we waited long enough to wonder if we were supposed to seat ourselves. A staff member made eye contact with us and kept moving without acknowledging us, which didn't feel very welcoming. The lighting was also extremely bright -- more gas station at midnight than cozy brunch spot. I ordered the avocado toast with scrambled eggs and pico, plus the hash casserole. The eggs were slightly overcooked and not very fluffy or flavorful, and the avocado really needed seasoning. Everything was piled high on one piece of toast, so the ratio felt off and the toast kind of disappeared. The hash casserole seemed borderline undercooked. I know that sounds picky, but with the prices, I think it's reasonable to expect a little more care in preparation and presentation. I really liked everything but my eggs were cold. It took quite a bit to get our food also. I probably will not come back but I wasn't disappointed. Unfortunately we did not have a great experience at Toasted Yolk. The place is trendy and cute but we sat at the bar and ordered food around 10:25am and didn't end up getting our meal until 11:45 am! When we asked our server to check on our order she had to come ask us our order again. No explanation was given or time frame warning. We waited another 30 mins and then part of the order came in and I was told my plate fell and they'd have to remake it. We finally asked another bartender for help and we got our order quickly. When the bill came they took off one piece of French toast. We were upset there was no communication going on. We thought they'd take care of us in some way... instead they offered a 10% discount which took about $1.50 off each entree. Their response to the mix up was disappointing.
