We were in San Antonio for Labor Day weekend. We are from Pharr,Texas down South. We decided to try y'all out so glad we stoped by. We had an amazing experience with am amazing waitress by the name SUNNY she was very helpful. Never once did she stop coming to our table and she was very busy with other tables. It's hard to find a good waitress like her!!! She's a keeper. And the food.., was very delicious next time we go back to San Antonio we are going there and asking for her. Stopped by Bobbie's Southern Kitchen in Fredericksburg for lunch in late March. The place was very busy, but we were able to grab bar seating without any trouble, which was a plus. We started with the biscuits and sausage gravy. The biscuits themselves were impressive--huge, fluffy, and great texture--but the sausage gravy was a letdown. It had very little sausage (just a few small pieces) and lacked the richness you'd expect from a true Southern-style gravy. For breakfast plates, we ordered eggs over medium, hash browns, sausage, and cheesy grits. The eggs were cooked perfectly to temp, and the hash browns were excellent--crispy and well seasoned. The sausage was just average, and the cheesy grits were decent but not particularly memorable. The highlight of the meal was easily the Honky Tonk Heat Stack from the lunch menu. This was phenomenal--one of the best items on the menu. The fried chicken was perfectly cooked with a great crunch and a noticeable kick from ghost pepper, balanced by a really solid bun. Highly recommend ordering it "fried dirty"--it takes it to another level. Overall, Bobbie's Southern Kitchen has a great atmosphere and friendly staff, and while some of the traditional breakfast items were hit or miss, the lunch menu--especially the fried chicken sandwich--really stands out. Wow ...after checking out Yelp recommendations, we decided to check out Bobbie's near Brook City Base. This is without a doubt the Best breakfast we've had in the San Antonio area. Savannah was our friendly waitress and gave wonderful recommendations and all the staff was super welcoming. The portions were huge and all the breakfast items were cooked to perfection and included warm syrup. This reminded us of a southern diner experience and we look forward to returning soon and trying the lunch next time. We felt at home in the warm and inviting spot. read more

Message from a loyal Southside regular. We are so glad to have Bobbie's on Goliad, but four visits in, it's hard not to notice that the Southside isn't getting the same treatment as the Northside. Missing out on your legendary coconut cream pie and having a restricted menu down here feels like a slap in the face to the community that made Bobbie's famous in the first place. ​Don't forget where it all started! Food was great, service was great and prices were reasonable for brunch style meals. The only thing that would prevent me from going often would be the wait time to get seated as well as the wait time to receive the food. We waited over an hour to get seated. We knew it would be a while since we did have a party of 9. The place itself is compact. It's small inside with limited space to walk through areas. We waited over 45 mins for the food as well. I ordered the brisket hash skillet. It was really good with all the flavor. Something I would probably get on the regular when eating there. Would definitely love to try other items on the menu. First-timer to this San Antonio gem and I was pleasantly surprised. I love diners so this was definitely a nice treat after the MLK march. The parking lot is small but you can park in the neighboring lots as well. We were nicely greeted with a smile and charm after a 10 minute wait. The interior was warm and cozy with a more modern diner appeal. The layout is long but not wide with efficient seating at the counter and tables. The price is comparable to fast food but the amount of food for the price is amazing. You definitely get your money's worth. I got the Morning Wrecker, a chicken fried steak with hash browns underneath and biscuit on top. A fried egg and cheese smothered with gravy tops the biscuit. The biscuit wasn't as fresh as I would have preferred and it was hard and crumbly. Other than that the meal was very satisfying. When we got there, we did have to wait a bit, but it wasn't a very long wait. The service was excellent. Everyone was very friendly and polite. Our server came by to check on us several times and asked how everything was and if we needed our drinks topped off. She did make small conversation with us, which was nice. We've had this spot on our list to check out for the longest time and checked it out for my birthday breakfast. From what I've heard, this place can get packed and it seems to have a solid following. It was a Friday morning, and it was busy, the acoustics in the restaurant are horrible so it can get very loud and chances of hearing conversations are hard. Food was great though and service was friendly and we were checked in often. I did noticed that tables were placed very close together so seating can be challenging for large parties. There is also counter seating towards the front of the restaraunt with additional seating. I ordered the The Texas which is an omelet, hash browns and a side, which I chose the grilled biscuits which they are known for. The omelet was packed with veggies, perfectly cooked and the hashbrowns were cooked to order. The biscuit was so good - it was large, soft yet crispy where it needed to be. I also added turkey bacon but I should've ordered it be made crispy. My sister ordered the Big Country Breakfast - the pancakes were perfect! We both had lots of leftovers as their portions are large. I wanted to try a slice of one of their pies, but I was too full. Since this place is nearby, I'll definitely be stopping in again to try out their lunch menu and dessert! read more

After getting food to go from here on a few occasions I am impressed with the service as well as the food. Their biscuits and gravy, sweet tea ,lemonade and baked desserts like the Boston cream pie and key lime pie are impressive. I wasn't too pleased with the peanut butter pie slice because I had expected it to be like the kind served at Dick's Last Resort or that peanut butter pie served at Costco that went viral not too long ago. I decided to try Bobbie's for breakfast after hearing a neighbor rave about the food. The restaurant is very cute and homey, with just enough room. Our server was attentive and our food came out quickly. I heard the chicken fried steak was a must and even though I saw brisket hash on the menu, I had to give the cfs a try. My son ordered the Breakfast Wrecker. The chicken fried steak was really tasty, seasoned well with just the right amount of breading. I found the biscuit and fried okra okay, the ch fried steak was definitely the star of the show. My son destroyed his meal and I took leftovers home with me. Friendly staff and delicious food, what's not to like? Make sure to check the waitlist and join it ahead of time. Also, the parking lot can be tight, so be careful driving in. We tried the Morning Wrecker and Big Country Breakfast. The Morning Wrecker is a massive dish with a perfect chicken fried steak. The biscuit was a little thick and the gravy was a smidge salty. For the Big Country Breakfast with the banana pecan pancake. The pancake was perfectly fluffy and didn't need any syrup because of the prailine sauce. read more

Check in ahead of time if you can, you'll likely have to wait...but aside from that I really enjoyed my meal and the attentive (but not annoying) service. If you're going to complain about the wait time from ordering to being served, go to McD's, but if you appreciate freshly made home cooking (including pies) then you'll want to try Bobbie's.
