    Great drink! Very refreshing

One of my favorite places to eat. I absolutely looooove the crawfish Etouffee! Our waiter Santiago was kind and very patient. He was also very attentive and I appreciate the great service that he provided. Food was great per usual and the place was very clean. There was no wait..... however, if you dine here on a Friday or Saturday evening it can be pretty crowded with a long wait time. There were 6 in our group and everything we ordered was delicious (crab artichoke dip, crawfish Etouffee, seafood pasta, shrimp po boy, fish and chips). There is plenty of parking in their private parking lot (no charge). Definitely a must visit every time I am in town!

I have had Pappadeaux in Arizona so I when I found out there was one in San Antonio I had to stop by! The place is clean and spacious. Expect to wait at least 30 mins. I told my food to go the waitress nice. I got the Alexander which was dirty rice, salmon, shrimp, scallops, and crawfish in a cream sauce. The salmon was seasoned and cooked to perfection! The sauce was very flavorful. The dirty was old and not good at all shrimp had a heavy irony taste to them. I paid 65 dollars who that and Margarita to go! The portion was generous enough for two people. Parking was ample it's worth a try but nothing spectacular expect to pay on the high end! Bread was hard not as good as Arizona location!

Whenever I'm in Texas I go to Pappadeaux for the best food. We had the Jumbo Bacon Wrapped Shrimp Brochette, Pappas Greek Salad, Shrimp Etouffee & Shrimp & Crawfish Fondue. Everything was as delicious as I remember! I don't have a Pappadeaux near me so anytime I'm in the area I stop. The restaurant is usually packed with families. Kids are always welcome and the staff are always great.

Passive agressive service and small portions. Only one person at our table ordered a salad, so I asked the waiter to bring more bread while the rest of the table waited for their food. He stopped by several times over the next 15 minutes to tell us how out maons were coming along, then delivered the bread just as the main course arrived. I ordered the large fried oysters and got perhaps 4 oysters on a mountain of french fries for 28 dollars. see picture. I thought that was a poor value. Very disapointing for the money.

Deeeeeeee-licious!!!!!! Perfect place to go for seafood during Lent... or of course anytime. Highly suggest reservations as this place gets packed...5:15pm on Friday was perfect. We sat at a booth with our friends and was immediately greeted by our server Brandon. The complimentary French bread was freshly baked and was soft on the inside, with a slight crisp on the outside. We ordered: Strawberry mangeaux tango- excellent! Mango vodka, frozen strawberry margarita and the strawberry purée blended so well together. Perfectly sweet and so easy to drink : D Large Calamari and Octopi appetizer- excellent! Seasoned generously and fried- yum. We appreciated the fried additional artichokes as well. The dipping sauce had a nice kick. Rainbow trout and shrimp- excellent! A large pan grilled fillet with 4 jumbo shrimp. The fish was cooked perfectly and easily flaked off the skin with a fork. The shrimp was meaty and not dry. I substituted broccolini for the truffle potatoes- omg best decision! Again seasoned nicely and not overcooked, it had a good crunch. Wild caught grouper- excellent! A good piece of fish that sat on top a seafood extravaganza of shrimp, scallop, clams, and mussels, all in a red tomato seafood broth and with a side of garlic bread. Heaven! All of our tummies were happy. Great service- Brandon was awesome. They also offer a generous military discount, thank you!

A five star experience, start to finish. Celebrated my wife's brother's birthday here last Sunday and we enjoyed every bit. It was in the afternoon so the place was not as busy. We were seated quickly in a nice, pleasant, corner by the wine cabinet. Our server was timely and consistent! We tried several dishes. Fried catfish, fried shrimp, fries, Gator bites, crab cakes, salad, Fondeaux, pasta, and cheesecake. Everything was AMAZING!!!! This was a great experience in a great atmosphere and vibe!!!

A cold and cloudy winter day in San Antonio took us to this place for great seafood gumbo and early dinner. The food here is always amazing. All the Pappas restaurants are excellent. This eatery is no different. We try to eat here twice a year - including the location on 410 by the airport. Service is always excellent by knowledgeable servers. The one we had today was a very experienced one. He took care of us and made sure our liquids are topped off. He knew the menu well. As for the ambiance, it's typical of the Pappas line of restaurants. Clean inside and outside. Pricing is expensive but the servings are huge! You get your moneys worth! Overall, I'll eat here every week if I could afford it. Twice a year - ok!

I generally love all Pappa restaurants but this was definitely the exception. Long wait despite many open tables due to being understaffed. The monthly salmon special was so raw I felt I was at a sushi restaurant. Side dishes bland. My husband got the "large fried oysters and there were only 4 and those were over cooked. Such a disappointment especially considering this is not an inexpensive meal. Will not be back.

Pappadeaux sent me an email about a shrimp etouffee special for $15.99 so I wanted to try it. I also wanted to redeem my free birthday dessert. The outside of the restaurant reminded me of a courtyard in New Orleans. The waiter brought us a loaf of fresh French bread and softened butter. The fried shrimp on the lunch menu consisted of ten plump shrimp over a huge pile of fries served with tartar sauce and cocktail sauce. The fried shrimp were cut down the middle to make them look larger. The shrimp etouffee served with white rice was spicy. I was impressed with the large shrimp. Unfortunately, I found a hair in my etouffee so the manager comped the entree and gave me a key lime pie to take home. The vanilla cheesecake was tall and impressive. It's better than the Cheesecake Factory! Service was good but I was surprised that the waiter didn't refill my water glass when it was empty. When it was dessert time, a girl came with a metal pitcher to refill my water. I would have given this visit 4 stars if I did not find a hair in my food.

Pappadeaux : Party of 20 Last week, my girlfriend chose Pappadeaux Seafood Kitchen for her retirement dinner from the U.S. Army. Our group of 20 gathered around 4:30 PM as the restaurant was located off I-10, and we wanted to avoid the rush hour traffic. As a note, please be cautious of the ongoing construction in the area, as the restaurant is in the center of the ongoing construction. Our waiter, Tirek (or Tarek), impressed me from the start, smoothly managing our large party with ease. Drinks and orders were swiftly taken as we celebrated and I ordered the shrimp platter, while others enjoyed seafood platters, pasta, and fish. A team served our meals efficiently, and the manager personally came out and thanked my girlfriend for her service, offering a complimentary dessert. I praised Tirek for his outstanding service, which truly elevated the experience. While the food was great, dining out has become pricey as my Shrimp and fries were over $22, and the Happy Hour menu is only available at the bar. Nonetheless, Tirek made it a 5-star experience. Food was great even though we had reservations,it took forever to seat us but once we were seated, drinks and food was delish.

We could talk comfortably at a normal volume, which already put this place ahead of a lot of spots on a weekend night. Service set the tone immediately. Our server, Mario, was excellent. Kind, professional, attentive without hovering, and his recommendations were spot on. On top of that, the entire staff signed an anniversary card for us, which was a genuinely thoughtful touch. The manager, whose name I unfortunately did not catch, stopped by our table, congratulated us, and treated us to a dessert and two glasses of champagne on the house. That kind of hospitality is rare and it mattered. We started with the deviled eggs. They were overfilled in the best way and topped with maple bacon that complemented them perfectly. We also ordered a bowl of clam chowder. It was not overly creamy, had small chunks of clam, and was well seasoned. All it needed was a little black pepper, which is an easy fix. For entrées, my wife ordered the redfish and I had the Maui steak. The redfish was fresh and cooked perfectly, not dry at all, finished with a light lemony butter sauce. The couscous was properly cooked and well seasoned, not bland, and the asparagus had a subtle grilled, almost barbecue-like flavor that worked really well. My Maui steak was a 16-ounce boneless ribeye in a tangy marinade with hints of garlic and pineapple. The balance was excellent. Tender, juicy, and cooked a true medium rare. It came with smashed potatoes that were creamy and smooth without being thick or dry. Exactly how they should be. Dessert sealed it. The carrot cake was outstanding. Warm, soft, moist, not overly sweet, with fine shreds of carrot and nuts throughout. Honestly, it is arguably the best carrot cake I have ever had. Overall, this was a great experience. Service was top-notch. The manager makes regular rounds to check on tables, which shows real leadership. There are cards at the front listing the manager, assistant manager, and chefs by name, which signals pride and accountability. The only downside is the interior lighting. It is slightly dim and takes a moment for your eyes to adjust. That said, the staff more than makes up for it with warmth and professionalism. Big thanks to the entire team, and congrats to Mario on his engagement. We will absolutely be back.

I tried something of the specials menu...steak fillet, crab cake and mashed potatoes. It was all delicious and I think the crab cake was one of the best I've ever had...nice chunks of crab and a yummy remoulade for dipping. In my experience, Restaurant Week dishes were normally smaller portions, but not at Southerleigh! We ordered 3 Dinners and had enough for another two meals, and every bite was incredible. Chicken Cracklins: How these were not in a pool of grease and were perfectly crispy and seasoned was impressive but not a surprise, because Southerleigh knows how to fry chicken! Deviled Eggs: They're the devil because I could eat 12 of them and have no regrets. Creamy, nice bit of bacon on top, and absolutely delicious. Fried Pickles (GF): Y'all. I've never had fried pickles like these before. Perfectly crispy and not even a little greasy. Ranch was delicious, special sauce excellent. I could eat those fried pickles every day - my doctor would love it. Half Chicken (GF): Outstanding. I'm forever amazed but how good this GF chicken is. Unreal. 10/10. Chicken Wings: Fried Catfish: If you have a friend whose faces squishes up in disgust when you suggest fried catfish, take them here and get them this fish. Remoulade was perfect. When I first read about Yozora, I honestly thought it sounded a bit pretentious. Fascinating, but…read morepretentious. Because the idea of music being an actual integral part of the dining experience--not just some kind of background noise--felt a little precious for my taste. I'm glad to admit I was wrong. So let's start with the ambiance and the vibe of Yozora. It's in a fairly non-descript kind of center; not bad but not specially memorable. But the space itself is open and has an air of restrained sophistication. And then there's that hi-fi set up. The music at Yozora really is part of the experience, but it's not intrusive in the way that you'd think. Most of what my dining companion and I heard was 50s and 60s jazz, and it was perfect for the occasion. Sushi and Coltrane are a great mix, and even though we were not far from the hi-fi system, I could hear every word of our conversation, without the need for either of us to raise a voice. Somehow, it's like the music operates on a different frequency from regular table chatter. Suffice to say, the music enhanced the mood and really set a scene for Yozora's chefs to tell some stories. And that, they do really well. We started out with seasonal tempura and miso masu ceviche--ocean trout marinated in miso, soy, and lime juice--that was sublime. But funnily enough, the real star small plate was a truffle creamy miso soup that was earthy and slightly sweet at the same time and was silky in texture. From there, we ordered a series of crudo and battera, each unique in its own way. It was wonderful stuff, accompanied by a rice lager. The kitchen at Yozora is not shy about experimenting with non-traditional flavors and ingredients. Sometimes it works really well; sometimes, not as well, but it's never bad, and the servers actually ask for feedback for the kitchen, which is something I rarely see. Yozora honestly seems to be most concerned with creating a great dining experience, and it does that, from the chefs to the line cooks to the servers (who are helpful and attentive without hovering). The music, the mood, and the menu add up to a memorable experience.
