Walk in the atmosphere is super cool, very subtle but has ties to seafood restaurants that we had visited in the Boston area, which was kind of nice. The service staff was very friendly, and the food was quick to come out We had oysters on the half show, which were absolutely delicious. They have three different kinds, and the server was knowledgeable enough to explain to us what the different kinds were, size, graininess, and other intangibles that would help us make our decision, and I'm glad he did because we got the Gulf oysters and they were awesome My wife had a Lobster and shrimp roll, which was one of the most delicious things I think I've ever tasted in a seafood restaurant, I went standard with fish and chips, and they were quite amazing, battered properly, lightly fried, golden brown, hot and juicy on the inside, with very little grease residue, five out of five would definitely eat those Again. What a gem! We originally planned to have Japanese beef bowls, but on our route to get there, we passed by Fish city grill and looked up the photos and reviews- we quickly changed our minds and came here instead! The best decision we made because wow everything was so delicious!! We were so happy to try the food out here. We called ahead to see how long the wait for 5 would be, and they said we could be seated right away. -i ordered the lobster and shrimp rolls, the bread was so soft and the roasted lemon gave it the right amount of tang! The sweet potato fries are seriously the best I have ever tried because they were the most crispy and seasoned to perfection! (Husband also agreed, they were the best sweet potato fries he's had ever!) We also got the crab dip, delicious!! You could tell it was fresh right away--perfectly seasoned, nicely seared, and flaky without being dry. It came with green beans and roasted potatoes, plus a flavorful sauce that complemented everything really well. We also ordered the fish and chips, which were just as impressive--crispy, golden, and light, not greasy at all. The portions are generous, and everything tastes fresh and well-prepared. There were So many amazing things on the menu I couldn't decide then he brought over a sample of the trout dip, OMGGGGGG it was amazing, And I was immediately sold into getting this appetizer! Had a great dinner here for a celebration! I wanted to try something new and this place didn't disappoint. Nice interior with a patio for outdoor seatings I tried the grilled redfish with mash potato's and green beans. It was topped with shrimp and crawfish. My only criticism was it had only 2 shrimp. Aside from that it was cooked well and tasted great. We also tried the bean, rice sausage cup and that was tasty! Last we tried the cheeseburger since my partner doesn't like seafood. Had two juicy patties and came with a side of seasoned fries. They have a range of seafood items from grilled to fried and daily specials. Limited non seafood options but it's a seafood restaurant. To top it all off; can't give enough kudos to our young server, Sam! Sam was on point the entire visit. He helped answer questions, described plates and helped with selection and was attentive. We stopped here for lunch and we ordered the smoked trout dip. It was fantastic! Be aware that it comes with house made old bay chips so it is a bit on the salty side. With plain or lightly seasoned chips, it'd balance out the dip. But I highly recommend this appetizer. For the main course I had the Jalapeño bacon mahi mahi tacos. If you're not a spicy person I'd order without jalapeños. It does give quite the kick with spice paired with sweet aioli and the fish. My partner had the fishwich which is his go-to everytime here. It's soft yet super crispy sandwich. We both had the clam chowder and it is always good. I can't not order it when I come here. We sampled their Cesar salad and dirty rice. To our surprise they brought out samples of all their soups and a sample of their oyster nachos! They ALL were so good!! Goodness, what has happened to Fish City Grill? We used to come here regularly because we loved the food, the ambiance, and the great service. However, today everything was different! We came to dinner on a Friday early evening and, first off, the hostess was not too friendly and kept inputting my phone number incorrectly on her iPad. Secondly, there were so many flies in the restaurant that we kept swatting them away. Then, there were some delays with our appetizers and our food. And then lastly, the food portions were smaller than before and were lacking in taste. It was a very disappointing evening for us and it's doubtful that we'll be coming back. read more

One fact, I love the most about this place is they change out their menu based on the fresh seafood they receive. They do run out of seafood as well. For first timers, make sure the server gives you the soup sampler and the fried oyster nachos to try. This definitely makes the experience for first timers. The clam chowder and lobster bisque is my favorite. So far, I've tried the halibut and seabass as entrees on the two visits I've had in the past couple of weeks. Both were delicious! I recommend the sampler as an appetizer where you have the seafood quest, calamari, and fried pickles. Also, the crab cakes alone are excellent of you want something small. Do yourself a favor and skip this place. The first thing I notived was that it took an oddly long time to be greeted or noticed in any way during a slow period. The wall alongside the booth we sat at was dirty enough even for my 10 year old son to notice. The worst part was the Mediterranean Sea Bass that my husband ordered which was dry and tasted off. We both agreed it didn't taste like sea bass at all. We didn't send it back because we just don't do that at restaurants. Also, we were told by the person who recommended the place to us that we should have been offered samples as first time guests - which we weren't. My fish taco plate was good, but not spectacular. We came back for the second time and I just realized how many typos I had on my first review. We sat outside this time as the weather was perfect for the patio. We started with the crab cake which has an amazing flavor, though it did fall apart a bit more than the last time we had eaten here. We also ordered the rolled tilapia tacos which paired perfectly with the summer shandy beer, though the portion size was significantly larger than we expected. Sunday, June 8th around 6:30 or so my beautiful wife and I met up with our amazing family. Our sweet grandson and super talented granddaughter were there and we all had a wonderful dinner. Our waiter,Shawn was super attentive and very professional. He made spot on perfect recommendations and really made us feel welcomed. My favorite thing about FCG is their daily specials posted on a giant blackboard with a camera angle so that you can look it up in real-time. The pricing is reasonable, even for the specialty fishes. The dishes have all been very flavorful and in season. Delightful! My husband, who is not a big fish eater, has had their chicken and andouille with red beans and rice, and it's quite tasty and satisfying. The staff are always pleasant and accommodating. No complaints with any of our servers. They're quick to answer questions and offer suggestions, which is always a plus, and have never steered us wrong. They have a great happy hour that runs until 6 p.m., I believe. $5 drinks and wine. Arrive early! This place gets busy, and as it gets full, it gets loud, and the wait gets long. There is usually no wait if you arrive before 5:30, even on a Friday night. After that, it's a crapshoot, and you may have a bit of a wait, but it would be worth it. The dining room is clean and inviting. If you are a slave to your phone and IOT devices, know that you may not be able to get much of a signal, and they don't have wifi. That's okay, though. I was happy to see that we had this place nearby us to take care of our fish craving. We came in around the time the place was opened, so it was not crowded at all and was seated quickly. The place was clean, and everything was neat even on the chalkboard they had on the wall. Our waitress was very pleasant and nice. She took our order quickly and was attentive to us. Also brought some crayons and kids menu for my nephew, so he was entertained. She recommended my lemonade with alcohol in it. It was somewhat strong, but I didn't mind it. We got fried pickles for appetizers and were great and gave us a lot. I ordered the lobster and shrimp grill cheese with fries. I liked it but probably will get something else in the future. The dishes had a pretty hefty portion & they were all delicious. My FCG Sampler had a good amount of crab in the crab queso & tastes great with everything on the platter! Very light & tasty so the fried pickles added a nice sour kick to balance it out. Trout was good but the battered catfish was my favorite! I was so surprised how huge the fish fillets were & even the sides were great. I took leftovers from all three dishes so I'm quite happy with the price range for the quality & portions. Went yesterday- unfortunately they got rid of the Cobb salad which is why I go there, so I tried the new balsamic bleu salad. The bleu cheese that came on the salad was almost undetectable so I asked for extra. The salad itself didn't taste like it had balsamic dressing on it and the amount of salad you get isn't filling. Huge bummer. Also, just an fyi they got rid of the kickin shrimp (I think that's what it was called). My son's kids plate came with like ten fries.
