First and last time going to Sprinkles. The younger workers there seriously lack customer service skills, and honestly it feels like management or the owner isn't training them properly at all. We went in for ice cream and right away noticed the selection was way more limited than what's shown online. Then the employees acted like we were bothering them just by ordering. Felt rushed the entire time instead of welcomed. And the frozen yogurt presentation? Straight up terrible. One looked like a literal turd swirl, and mine wasn't much better. For the prices they charge, you'd expect better quality and at least decent customer service. Definitely not worth the trip. You've been warned. read more

Sprinkles puts a lot of extra love in their ice cream creations. Always cool and delicious..I keep coming back for more. This year, Sprinkles did it again, they created the cutest and most delicious birthday cake ever. We were celebrating my son in law and my granddaughters birthday. Sprinkles crafted it with gluten free ice cream, which included Moose Tracks and vanilla. They made it on a dedicated work space, so my granddaughter who has Celiacs disease could eat it. The time and customer care was Amazing. They even called me to tell me the decorations I had chosen, came from a factory that the decorations could suffer from cross contamination and we needed to select another one. That is just the kindest and most caring staff and owners ever! The cake was adorable and so delicious! I highly recommend Sprinkles for all of your ice cream cakes and more. This is a cute small ice cream shop! They have one table inside available to eat at. There were not a ton of flavors but definitely all the classics and everyone in our party was happy! They have toppings as well. There is a cute shop also with fun gifts if you need. The service was quick and friendly. Helped the kids with samples to pick their favorite flavors. Check in! I've been coming to this ice cream shop since 1997. The old owner was a bit quirky but absolutely loved his customers and would go the extra mile to help you figure out what to get or not get. I met the current owner on their first week of ownership. Cold, distant and arrogant. But that has no bearing on ice cream. What does have bearing on ice cream is quality, staff friendliness and convenience. I've been outside 20 minutes to closing, and staff will lock the door and ignore patrons lining up on a hot summer night. Whenever they are open, the folks working there look miserable, as if this job was more like a juvenile detention internship than a job. No smiles, no advice and very little desire to even say hello. Now the ice cream. Its bad. You're paying a 7 dollar premium for ice cream from the Baskin Robbins reject batch. The Baskins Bad Batch, except there are no cool Star Wars franchise inspired flavors. These are experiences btw dating back to before the pandemic. It's not a friendly small town shop anymore, just somebody's money making machine. Do yourself a favor and buy gelato across the intersection at Potomac Grocer. It's fresher, staff is friendlier, and you're actually helping a small business invested in our community. My pilgrimage to Sprinkles. This quasi-religious experience was eye-opening on many levels. My initial thoughts were, "oh great, another ice cream shop." But I could not have been more wrong. I've tasted many a variety of frozen creamy treats and sweets in my day, from frozen custard, to ice cream sundaes the size of my face! But never, in all my life, have I felt as satiated, satisfied, and enlightened by a culinary experience of this caliber. My milkshake barely lasted 3 minutes, as once a sugary drop of my treat touched my tongue, I couldn't put it down. I immediately wrote a memo to every one of my coworkers explaining this experience. I may not have a job anymore, but I do have one thing that can never be taken away: the knowledge that I have TRULY lived through the greatest ice cream experience God put on his green earth! On another note, the staff were charismatic and helpful as can be! Not only did they make me feel right at home, but they gracefully executed my ice-cream order without a flaw in record time. Ok, their soft serve is like soup. seriously, upgrade your machines it's unacceptable to receive soft serve that's basically melted goop. Ordered a twist of Oreo and iced coffee, no Oreo to be found and server says oh it's in there.... um no it wasn't. Then dumps the cup into a large cup since that's what I ordered he said but didn't put in a large cup. I'm like did this fall on the floor? The help and system is discombobulated. Will stick with Dairy Queen soft serve- always consistent and $4.89 for a huge serving. Also tried the new scoops yesterday at Cabin John.... while no soft serve yet.... a much better option. There isn't much for me to say here to be very honest. The ice cream was kinda...goopy (note: I don't mean liquid/melted, it was just super pliable). I don't think their freezer was cold enough, probably because it was pretty old. Flavors were good though so no complaints on the taste, I just think they need a freezer upgrade. The selection was also pretty standard. There were a few interesting ones but the majority of flavors are your fun of the mill expected flavors like mint chocolate chip, cookies and cream, strawberry, or variations of things like vanilla and rocky road. This seems to be a mom & pop kinda shop that's been around for a while. It's definitely not bad by any means, heck the goopy ice cream could be a plus if you like that texture. We've been going here for years, and the staff is super friendly and typically efficient (much appreciated when the place is crowded, which is often!) Great little ice cream spot in Potomac Village Shopping Center. I had a scoop of coffee Oreo and also tried the chocolate fudge brownie. Ice cream is delicious, rich and creamy. I ordered a small and they gave me two decently-sized scoops, so even though the prices are high you get a lot for the money. They also have large freezers with ice cream cakes, ice cream sandwiches, and packaged ice cream to go. They also sell various frozen yogurts, pastries, and coffee. Great little ice cream shop in Maryland. They have loads of flavors including my all time favorite mint chip. Plenty of choices as far as sizes go and cost is reasonable. We had five people served for less than $25. Toppings galore as well. For kids they have flavors only kids will eat like bubble gum. Great place to stop on a warm summer night. read more

Every now and again, you encounter a place that not only wins over your palate, but wins over your soul. For me, that place is Sprinkles. I'm an ice cream addict. I had been going to Baskin Robbins - since it was the only other Potomac shop I knew of - until someone recommended Sprinkles. Apparently the place is under new management and better than ever. Well, I don't know what it was like before, but I can say with certainly that it's now a total gem. The cones are tasty, the creams are sensual. I have gone over a dozen times in the past month - the oreo ice cream cone with chocolate sprinkles (and a cup on the side, of course) is my favorite. I'd also recommend their banana split, as well as their bagels if you're ever there during the day. But the food is just the start. The real highlight of my visits is the owner's charming son, who treats me with such kindness and attentiveness whenever I'm in there. It's very rare to find an ice cream shop employee genuinely take an interest in not just how my ice cream is, but how I'm doing. I don't know this guy's name, but he couldn't have customer service down any better. One time, he gave me my ice cream on the house simply because I had been coming in a lot. Another time, he invited me to a party he was throwing. He even offered to help my company with our IT needs! An unnecessary, but much appreciated cherry on my already amazing Sprinkles sundae. The absolute worst since the new management took over some time back. They r an ice cream shop - you would assume one would have caramel drizzle or chocolate chips considering they are popular toppings. I've gone a few times and they are out of everything all the time. Used to be a great mom & pop store. New management bought it and ruined the whole vibe of the store. Ice cream used to be amazing. They've changed the recipe (or started buying from another vendor). They have lots of flavors but it takes forever for the three staffers ringing up customers to work on a single order. Really cute and great service. My group of friends and I came in for a dessert after dinner and we were pleasantly surprised that such a small space could offer so many different items. I won't even try to list them, as their listed on the website, but man there was a sensory overload upon coming in. I ended up trying the pistachio, mint Oreo, and vanilla flavors. I really liked the pistachio flavor(which wasn't artificially flavored green) and the mint Oreo (which tasted like the ben and jerrys mint chocolate Oreo). I found the vanilla pretty average as the texture was way too whipped and the ice cream melted quickly. The flavor was also artificial tasting. The price of the small cup was about 3-4 dollars which is a bit high, but it's Potomac, so whatever. read more

Very small shop. It had a very mom-and-pop feel. I was expecting something more upscale being that it was in Potomac and I thought it was a branch of the Sprinkles that's located on M Street in downtown DC. Still unsure as whether or not it's another franchise of Sprinkles as I was really disappointed by the cupcake I got. It was red velvet with cream cheese icing and the decorating job on the cupcake seems really amateurish. I feel like I could have made this cupcake myself. I paid $3 for it and I'm a bit annoyed about that. Not at all what I was expecting. I should have gone across the street to Safeway and bought an entire box of cupcakes instead. I've been going to sprinkles for YEARS. Never had a bad experience and was always willing to pay those Potomac prices because I was HAPPY with what I got. Not this time - the new staff is very poorly trained in making a simple ice cream cone. If I order a cone with sprinkles I'm not asking for a cone-- in a cup -- with a couple of sprinkles on top. The OLD owners use to COVER their ice cream with sprinkles and these were BIG ice cream cones! THAT is what I'm paying for. The girl taking my order flat out dropped my first cone and got my second order wrong. These two sad cones totaled to $12. $12 for two child sized cones with barely any ice cream and barely any sprinkles? No thank you. If the new Sprinkles owner is reading this -- please properly train your staff on making enjoyable ice cream. And stop selling bogus candy. This is more so about service then ice cream. Ice cream is very good. Service on the other hand... Just had the most terrible experience at sprinkles in potomac. We have been supporting this establishment for the past 10 years. I know recently it had acquired new ownership and had recently met one of the owners and her daughter and they were very nice and professional. Right now with the pandemic I hate to write a one star review however I just had the worst experience of my life. I walked into the establishment without a mask with my three children in tow. I left the store after the clerk told me she could not help me because I was unmasked. Totally not upset about the mask issue. This is my fault as it's a county law. At that point there was just one other customer who was in front of me and nobody was behind me. The clerk advised me that I have to go outside call in my order and they will bring it out to me. So I Went outside and when outside attempted to call in my order And was told that they were very busy and I had to call back in 15 minutes. I was just in the store there was nobody else in the line behind me so I would have been the next customer. At this point I was totally ready to get up and go however my kids really wanted sprinkles. I Took a quick walk around the block to Rite Aid pharmacy bought a mask and went right back into sprinkles. At that point the clerk apologized to me and said she didn't realize that it was me that called And she felt bad. So we started to place the order and at this point I ordered four ice cream's and the owner had walked in as I was placing my order and the clerk told me to speak to the owner and not to write a negative review when I told her that that's what I was going to do.The male owner that was there is not the same owner that I originally met months ago maybe that was his wife and daughter I'm not sure. He did not even acknowledge nor did he approach to see what was wrong. At this point my children are outside eating their ice cream and I'm trying to pay and run out there so they're not alone. By the time I paid and went back outside my eight-year-old took two licks of his ice cream and the two scoops he had dropped to the floor. He was crying and I needed to go back and get more ice cream. The problem here is that I walked from my house to here with my children and I only brought $40 with me. I spent seven dollars on a mask and $30 for the original four ice cream's. I only had three dollars left. The clerk told me that they are not in the business of giving free ice cream mind you the owner was still standing right there. I said I don't care just give me what you can for three dollars. Sometimes you just have to be a human about situations. Especially during a pandemic when a local family is trying to support a local small business. Good luck... you will need it. You won't believe this, but I've lived in Potomac since 1997 and just last year I discovered Sprinkles. This place is GREAT! The ice creams and frozen yougurts are delicious, and that's always good, but what makes this place really special - other than the fact that apparently they've been around forever - is the fact that it is not only family-owned, but they seem to be a really nice family. We were there with our infant son, and my wife asked if she could buy some milk to give the toddler while we scarfed down our ice cream. Not only did the nice man give her a glass of milk, but it was on the house! We've been back many times and will continue to support them. read more

Upon first walking in, I was happy that I checked yelp to find an ice cream shop after hiking the Billy Goat Trial at Great Falls. The place was the cool little local ice cream shop that others described. Then the reality of the store set in. The guy serving ice cream was incredibly condescending. I saw him do this to two separate customers, where he was being extremely difficult. One customer asked for a chocolate milkshake, and the server asked in excruciating detail what the guy wanted, when all he wanted was a plain chocolate milkshake. Then the next woman went through the same experience. She was with a little kid who just wanted soft serve. The server, again, kept asking what kind of soft serve? Tart soft serve, vanilla soft serve, frozen yogurt? It's a kid, they wanted a regular vanilla soft serve. All of this with a huge condescending tone, like the server couldn't believe these customers were so stupid to not know how to order. Anyways. So then our turn comes up. Thankfully we have a different woman serve us. The ice cream was good, somewhat chewy in consistency. But... it was $12 for a sundae + a soft serve with sprinkles. Really?!
