Fun restaurant with cute decor and Thai dish staples! We've been here a couple times and my favorite thing about this place is the atmosphere! I love the effort into making the place look so photogenic. Decor is very cute and gives an "antique store" vibe, with small knick-knacks and old books lining the walls! The bathrooms are also really nicely decorated and so fun :) For dinner, we ordered crab rangoons to start and then the classic Thai dishes - pad see ew noodles, panang curry with chicken, and pik khing with string beans and beef. Food was cooked very well and spice level was just right! I will say price point is a little high for my liking compared to other Thai places. Can't really write about the ambience since I ordered carry out for the fam after a hot yoga class. However, from what I can tell from the outside and inside dining areas, the patrons appeared to be having a great time. The food was really well served. The place was a surprise hit for me! I ordered food from here and my food was packaged well, was on time for pick up, and was very tasty. The inside of the restaurant is so charming, with movie theater and library theme, and colorful decor. Customer service was fine, but not overtly welcoming when I picked up my food. This was a stark contrast from when I called in to place my order, and the friendliness I received at that time. But I appreciate the eclectic items on the menu, especially the unique desserts. We usually have a very good experience eating at Sisters in Cabin John, MD. It is a nice local restaurant, and we have enjoyed it many times. Yesterday, however, was disappointing. We ordered the chicken wings, but we were served very thick, overfried chicken drumsticks. They were tough and quite bland. My pottery shrimp was also not served in a pottery dish, as it always has been in the past, and there were very few shrimp on the plate--only about five total. At $26, especially as the price has continued to go up, this felt disappointing. The other dishes were good, but not excellent. Overall, we still like Sisters, but this visit did not meet the standard we have come to expect. read more

Honestly wow! Beautifully welcoming spot -- we got to sit in the front room decorated for the holidays which was lovely. Our appetizers were good; we had the calamari (gone, instantly) and crispy wontons; but the stars for me were the two noodle dishes which we ALWAYS get no matter what Thai spot we go to. The noodles were AMAZING for both the Pad See Ew and the Pad Kee Mao - perfect texture of a bouncy chew and silkiness that immediately lets you know the noodles are super fresh. I was craving some mango sticky rice, so I stopped by this quaint Thai spot to get my fix to go. I was surprised at how small the restaurant was on the inside. It's like a cozy, library eatery. It was decorated for Halloween so you will see that in ths pics. The service was quick, and they were pleasant. In the mood for Thai for my Birthday Brunch On a call with a friend who's overseas in Thailand. He put me in mind of Thai food early in the morning. After that a plan was made to get some tasty Thai Food. The next question was which Thai Restaurant to eat at for this adventure. I've eat at a few Thai restaurants but I've never had a full meal at Sisters Thai, only dessert. We ordered both Crab Fried Rice and Shrimp Fried Rice. I had the crab with a taste of the shrimp one, and of course we had to request spicy chili oil. Everything was amazing and delicious. Service was excellent, quick and friendly. With confidence and enthusiastic service, served with genuine smiles. Stopped in and did dinner family style. -The tom yum soup only comes in a personal size and the tomato taste comes off stronger than I'm used to -Combo basil fried rice was solid and the only thing I'd re-order -Had to order the fried tilapia filet because they ran out of whole flounders. The waitress took my order and then came back and told me they ran out "last week". Well then why haven't you restocked?! -_- The sauce was decent but I'm sure a whole crispy flounder would be way better than a filet. -The curry duck was average, probably wouldn't order it again. Cabin John has a wonderful diamond in the rough called Sisters Tai! If we had not looked it up we would have thought it might be a clothing boutique - it needs to say THAI Something! We walked into a very inviting library setting to the right and an inviting hallway flanked by a nice bar with a fully engaged mixologist grinding out a few drinks - as you walk down the hallway toward the back coffee bar the glass doors expose the nice patio that springtime is sure to fill! We came in for a late dinner on Sunday night at about 8pm. It was beautiful out so we opted to sit outside. The lighting of the area and set up were beautiful. I ordered a Thai tea as my beverage and was very happy with it. The Thai tea is always so good here. For my entree I had the drunken noodles with beef and with medium spice. I always opt for medium heat because it's hot enough where I can still enjoy the flavors of the dish. The noodles were a lot larger/wider than I am used to, but I didn't mind. I felt that the dish had more meat than it did noodles- most places are quite the opposite where there would be more noodles than meat. There was plenty of flavor in the dish and I was quite happy with my meal overall. Service was great- we were given sufficient time to review the menu and make our decisions, the wait time was not long, the waiters were attentive to our needs and were efficient. I am a huge fan of the chain and so happy they've been expanding. New Tysons location coming soon! My friend and I stopped in recently on a busy week night. I made reservations in advance. We ordered the green curry, fried fish, chicken pad see ew, and the mango coconut milk with sticky rice for dessert. Everything was delicious. The fish is a must order as there were no bones, had great Thai basil flavor and it was fried perfectly. The service and food here is as consistent as the other locations. The staff was really attentive and our food came out quickly. The decorations are similar to the other locations. The noise level here can be a bit loud and I found myself talking over other people. Seating area is a bit tight so if you have a party over 6 there maybe some wait time. Definitely save some time for dessert as their signature Magnolia desserts are delicious. Prices are reasonable for Potomac and its a great place to dine for some authentic Thai food. read more

This place is great. Very cool look inside - old books in bookcases, etc. It's small, so reservations would be wise - and be on-time. The food is glorious. Fresh chicken in various yummy ways. Ginger chicken is "standard" ginger chicken done perfectly. Ditto for chicken satay. My crew was basically fighting over who got more of the Chicken Festival - we'd never had it before, and will get 2 orders in the future to reduce hoarding. Other staples like garlic chicken also flawless. (Only complaint was from an eggplant eater who said the veggies with takeout eggplant are different from those served in-house - did not care for altered taste from takeout.) I think sisters thai is good but a bit expensive compared to some other ones I have been to. Everything was good, especially the eggplant dish. It was spicy but we liked it. I came here recently to celebrate a friend's birthday, and this place came to mind based on ambiance and food. From the time you walk in and see the library meets cafe meets house, to the newspaper bulletin themed menus, you just know you're in for a treat. What an adorable place to eat delicious Thai! We ordered the lunch special. For $17 I got to choose from a few starters and select from a handful of main dishes. I went with the green salad and the dressing has to be made in house- it might have been the best simple salad I've had in a long while. Then I ordered the Green Curry with chicken. My only criticism was there were two chunks of eggplant in mine that were undercooked. However, the flavor was on point - there were layers to this curry that I overlooked that little flaw and just put the eggplant to the side. It was the perfect lunch. 07.19.2024. We normally drop in after one of our outdoor activities like cycling or hiking to refuel. The staff is polite and the food is consistently fresh. I haven't had a bad meal. Sisters Thai is possibly one of my favorite Thai restaurants. I came here with my fellow Thai food-loving friend whom is also a harsh food critic. We both ordered from the lunch deal portion of the menu which included an appetizer and an entrée. We also ordered cocktails! It was hard to say no because there pictures were absolutely adorable. This also reminds me that every single one of their menus, including their cocktail menu, dessert menu, and food menu were all absolutely adorable and so creatively put together. The time they put into their menus was greatly appreciated! Not only were their menus super cute but they had decorations that were very aesthetically pleasing and "homey." Each time you would look up and stare at a different wall, you could find so many knickknacks! Love the vibe. The food was incredibly tasty. In fact, I could eat there every day if I could afford to do so. We tried this spot for a work lunch. Cute decor with efficient service. We dined in the front room which looked like a library with lots of books on the shelf. The menu was designed like a newspaper but had a few typos inside. I also noticed a few misspellings on the website. I ordered a lunch special but it was not the best Panang Curry I have ever had. My parents really wanted to try the Sisters chain after seeing them on a Thai YouTube channel. So we went to the closest location to us which is this one. My husband and I have tried this place once before when they first opened and thought it was meh. It's been several years now so we thought they would improve but they did not. Food was mediocre and it just baffles me as to why since the Sisters in Fairfax (old town & mosaic) is so much better. Also the staff couldn't even be bothered with us (4 adults and 2 young kids). I guess it's because we took up the 6 top without a reservation... but we went right when they opened so we can be in and out. By the time we left, the place wasn't even packed. I felt like the staff were pretentious and in a way tried to rush us out because they automatically included gratuity when it wasn't listed anywhere on the menu for parties of a certain size. A perfect pick for a ladies night out for dinner. This Thai restaurant was definitely more of a Cafe vibe, very small, comfortable and relaxing. The staff was really friendly and accommodating to my friends and I. We wanted the Thai spices but not the usual full force of the number 5 spice! We were pretty simple on what we ordered. We ordered the drunken noodles with chicken. We ordered Panang curry chicken, and we ordered the fried tofu Ka prow. Everything was flavorful with the perfect amount of heat and spice save room for dessert. They're sticky rice and mango ice are to die for everything was so delicious. Recently visited Sisters Thai for the first time with some friends, and I was initially excited to try the food because they have such good reviews and the restaurant has such a lively ambiance. Our party was seated in a booth by the front windows and our server was attentive. However, the food and drinks were mostly hit or miss. I ordered the ruby lychee drink, and it just tasted like a lychee slushy but was a bit watered down. Two other members of our party ordered the lychee martini and commented that they didn't taste lychee at all but more of a citrus flavor. As for the food, I ordered the panang curry and it had a good flavor but the curry itself was very watery/thin in consistency. I also kept biting down on hot peppers which wasn't a great experience since I couldn't see them inside the curry. We also ordered a sausage appetizer to share from the street food menu section, and it tasted a bit undercooked as well as overly vinegary in flavor. The main reason for this negative review is because after eating, our party was chatting before ordering dessert when a roach crawled across the wall next to our table. We alerted the hostess and another server came to kill it, but swiftly left with barely so much as a "sorry". We tried to tell our assigned server about what happened since she hadn't been around to witness the ordeal, and when we told her, she acted as if she didn't believe us. We had to tell her to go speak to the hostess to confirm what we were saying, and afterwards we were only offered a 15% discount on our entire meal. Now I don't say all this as someone who was expecting a discount, but I was expecting a lot more hospitality than we had been shown. Our friends were so disgusted that I felt embarrassed for bringing them to this restaurant and no one at the restaurant really seemed apologetic or eager to remedy the situation.
