Interesting setup that changes depending on the day and time you go. I found myself here on a Saturday evening, hungry and day drinking, so I ordered the vegetarian hot dog with a glass of white wine. Wine was nothing to write home about since it's not their specialty, but I looked forward to that hot dog. It finally came out and really hit the spot after not having one for a while. It was flavorful, good sized, and had a bunch of good toppings to make it more filling than a standard hot dog. The interior was lively with beer hall style benches but also families and children (?), which was an interesting crowd to be mixing with obvious day drinkers. I think this place is also a coffee shop and popular working spot by weekday. Prices are fine if not a bit overpriced. Come for the fun environment and stay to grab food! read more

Was there last week for a birthday. The food was delicious. I liked their brussel sepouts and bratwurst. They have options for wine since I can't have beer. The service was good. They were able to get our food out at a good time. The ambiance was very relaxed up to a time where more locals come in. It was easy to chill and relax. read more

I mean, who wouldn't want a dose of his sass and attitude? And let's talk about his service -- I'm sure he could rake in more tips if his service was *as great* as his attitude. And really, who needs basic respect when you can have Scott's special brand of condescension and disdain? It's truly unparalleled in the hospitality industry. And as for incompetence, well, that's just a perk. Who wants a competent bartender when you can have one who treats you like an annoying insect? It really adds to the ambiance of any establishment. And those scoldings? Just a friendly reminder that you're lucky to even be in Scott's presence. Oh, his glasses may help him see better but apparently he can't see how pleasant his true character is. We should all strive to be like Scott, the pinnacle of moral excellence. JK Scott is terrible. Id rather have a mosquito buzz in my ear all night then to have to order a drink from this guy. I honestly really wanted to like this place more but I just had a super subpar experience. Came here with a big group for a friends birthday and we reserved a table no problem. The service at the bar was pretty horrible, having been living and going out in New York for over five years now I'm not someone who has unrealistic expectations of bartenders but this was pretty disappointing. I don't know if it's a management issue and the people who work there just aren't super into their jobs but every bartender I interacted with just seem to be having a really bad day and to be in a bad mood. I had a question about a seasonal cider that was written on the board and when I asked about it the bartender very sassily told me that they haven't had that cider for weeks. I guess the board was out of date which is fine but it was very awkward. Only reason I'm not giving this place less stars is because it is a pretty cool spot aesthetically, is good for large group gatherings, and the food was also yummy and fairly priced (we just got fries and pretzels). I wouldn't go back unless it was for another birthday or some thing, and I hope the bartenders are having better days now! read more

Rude bartenders. I'm sober so no issues remembering or seeing what's going on. All of the friends in the group had a different bartender and all had a rude experience. The bald bartender was so rude. This place is awesome - classic German beer hall. The menu has sooo many beers all with their own witty description. Plenty of space here to come with a group and a long bar as well. Bartenders aren't the friendliest but it's usually busy so I'm sure they're just trying to keep moving. Outdoor seating available as well. Easy to get a drink, the actual bratwurst was bland but they have so many condiments to dress it with so it's not bad. I like their pretzel bread the sausage comes on. Big place. I give it a four for a Biergarten because the workers seem chill and so are the customers. Had to post a review of this place based on what I heard about the service - please do not go here if you are expecting reason to prevail. My friends tried to go here yesterday and one of them forgot her id. Should not be a problem since they allow children in, correct? She was happy not to imbibe. However, they would not admit her without an ID. Even though there were children inside who clearly were obviously not 21, but were allowed in. Without an ID. Absolutely insane. A watering hole for all the Brooklyn folk when the weather is warm and the sun is shining. With some of the best fries and dips, really tasteful bratwursts and a refreshing Moscow Mule, the only thing missing is music. Beer is also obviously great and I was a fan of the Pineapple Cider too. Only complaint is this pretty whack system and how long it takes to order a drink. Great place for gatherings large or small. Long picnic table seating with several large bars around the entire venue. Excellent beer selection with a few mixed drink options. The kielbasa and soft pretzel were quite good, as well. Nice selection of dipping sauces. Though, no waiter service. A little tough to get the attention of the bartenders, but overall good service. I have been here once before but this was the first time trying their dogs. I was very happy with the flavor profile of the dog. I got a Biala Kielbasa polish dog with peppers/onions on top, my sister got the Rabbit & veal with mango chutney on top (and jalapeño-jicama coleslaw). They have a varied assortment of gourmet toppings/condiments including whole grain mustard, curry chili ketchup, and more. Also a solid selection of beers on tap. (I got a lager, nothing too special in my opinion). I think the best part of this establishment is the ambiance. You certainly do not pay close to 20 dollars for a simple gourmet dog + beer, but rather for the assortment of bar games Spritzenhaus offers and its relaxed open environment. Loved this beer garden! There is a ton of beer on tap, I came on a Saturday afternoon around 3pm and this place was packed! The crowd is on the younger side and music was great! There is an outdoor area and games like Jenga for grabs. My only compliant is the bathroom, there is always a line (only 3 stolls for girls). There is a fireplace and their food is good as well. Had my first bratwurst because they offer a VEGETARIAN version! It was delicious and appreciated the black lager beer. It was refreshing and paired well with the bratwurst. Just like any bar it's loud so get ready to speak loudly and scream your order to the bartender. Lots of beers on tap and cocktails to order. My friends and I had a great time at Spritzenhaus33. It's a casual Biergarten with plenty of space, reasonable cocktails, a wide array of beers and tasty food. It's popular for group gatherings for good reason. Ordered: Margarita ($11)- this drink was strong and well made. Spritzenhaus33 uses high quality liquor (there was Grand Marnier in this drink) and they don't charge an arm and a leg, which I appreciate. Aprerol Spritz ($10)- this drink was refreshing, slightly sweet and also a little bitter. It's made with Aperol, prosecco and seltzer. This spritz was well made. Strawberry beer ($8)- this is not your typical wheat beer. It's pretty sweet and tastes like strawberry puree and beer, but more of strawberry. French fries ($6)- these totally hit the spot. They were thick cut with the skin still on and were nicely salted. They came with a side of their house sauce that tasted like Russian dressing. By the kitchen, they also have other sauces in squeeze bottles that you can choose from. I recommend mixing the honey mustard and the Dijon mustard for a sweet sauce with a little kick. Came here on a Tinder date and I must say, I was impressed. I would have never chose this place. Besides beer, they have a food menu and I ordered the vegetarian sausage with slaw. I'm going to try to review this strictly on food and drink. The beer menu is extensive and I give them high marks for that. The sausage that I had left much to be desired. The flavor was ok, but what first seems as a great idea to have a "free topping", it winds up smothering the sausage and making it impossible to pick up and put in your mouth. I don't care to eat a sausage in a bun with a knife and fork. I imagine they're trying to put a twist on a traditional German brewhaus, but no thanks - if it ain't broken don't fix it. Fries were pretty good, dipping sauce didn't do much for me but there were so many to pick from perhaps I just made a bad choice. Based on the sausage, "2 stars - meh I've experienced better". One lousy point for sausage and one added point for the good beer list. Now, let me discuss the atmosphere which I did not rate this place on because there was nothing wrong with it per se, but it was just not a place I'd return to. 6pm on a Saturday, it was mobbed, shoulder-to-shoulder, with patrons in their mid-20s. Too loud to think much less have a conversation. If this is your scene, have at it. But go knowing what you're in for. I've heard the lunchtime scene is less rowdy. read more

Not exactly my favorite crowd, but the people we ended up meeting were lovely and fun! However, the two main reasons I'm docking stars are as follows: 1) the staff is not vigilant and did not notice a woman getting harassed by some date gone wrong--the responsibility fell entirely upon patrons, and 2) some employee's written description of one of the beers was clearly amused by its naming after a bomb used to eradicate people in Afghanistan and Vietnam. Like really, you don't have to do all that considering all the other beers had otherwise VERY normal descriptions like "hoppy" or "refreshing"..... The bartender on Wednesday night (a lady) gave me an attitude when I asked about the types of drinks I could have with aperol and made me feel like an ignorant for now knowing them. Would it hurt to do her job and just mention a few mixes she could make with aperol instead? All the while, acting like she was doing me a favor to serve me a simple Aperol Spritz and taking my money. Too much to ask for simple manners and customer service? Seduced by the fire and the rows of taps along the walls, I heeded the siren call and went inside. The design of this place is incredible. It's very cool and I'd love to try it out on a warm day with the windows open. The beer menu is extensive and well selected. Tap lines are clean and the beers tasted excellent. Food menu is small but solid. I recommend using the spicy mustard on your fries. The fireplace delivered the promised warmth, but that was the only thing warm about this place. There's no table service, which is fine, but the bartenders seemed strangely detached. Not a smile, not an extraneous word...just a look while waiting for your order and then a quick mumble of the price. Efficient but zombie-like. It was weird...usually bartenders have more outgoing personalities. But luckily I was there with beer club, so I was able to bask in the fellowship and camaraderie of my lager-swilling cronies.
