Love getting my orders for pickup, and the in store shoppers are great at communicating with me whenever there's issue, but finding a parking spot shouldn't be so difficult. They have two curbside spots available but there's always someone parked there and 9 times out of 10 no one in the car. It's makes curbside pick up not as accessible as advertised. I am confused by the review regarding needing a security gaurd. I assume it must of been a specific event, because I have been shopping here regularly for years since they opened this location thankfully without issues regarding crime. Crime can happen anywhere, and we all must be ready for it. My only criticism is the new self-check out machines that will ask for employees' to verify items for silly reasons such as if the shopper doesn't bag an item immediately. I usually put larger items back in my basket so I always need to call someone to get the computer's approval. It's significantly faster to go to a cashier, so I recommend get someone to scan for you to anyone who is on a time sensitive trip. Other than that, I have had no issues with the store or employees who work here. Problem with Yelp is people (only) use it as a complaint blog, rather than ratio of the good vs the issues that need a solution. Glad I can come here for some specific items I would otherwise have to drive to Dallas' Wholefoods for. Hopefully they'll update the self-checkout computers to be more efficient. read more

I can shop organically grown produce, this natural grocer sells grain-fed meats, free-range chicken, great roasted seeds, nuts, grains even varieties of quinoa and whole grains -- all the fixings needed to create a restaurant worthy salad. I celebrated the day Sprouts opened their doors in Cedar Hill. Here in the southern corridor, south of Downtown, besides Sam's and Costco, there were only chain grocery stores with the occasional family owned fruit and vegetable store. Not a one of the chain stores could be relied upon for a near ripe tomato, a head of Napa cabbage, bulk mushrooms or bulk spring mix lettuce. Prices were generally high and the quality inferior. Sprouts was going to change all that. I was more than ready. In that regard, the Sprouts in Cedar Hill has met my expectations and I am a regular customer. The weekends are crazy. The produce section is a feeding frenzy with carts vying for position and busy people on the move. I like to take my time because I enjoy shopping and Sprouts has much to peruse. I find fellow shoppers are generally friendly and helpful; so, too, are the Sprouts staff on the floors. If you are an alternative diet eater, Sprouts tries to meet your needs. From pasta to frozen foods, non-dairy to non-meat, baked goods to ready to eat; Sprouts has it all for the organic, vegetarian or vegan consumer. I shop those products, too, and there's terrific variety. Sprouts also has a separate department devoted to organic, naturopathic, Chinese, Botanical, detoxifying, probiotic, and natural pharmacy products. Sprouts has a website, of course, with coupons and a weekly grocery paper. They offer double ad Wednesdays, when the weekly ads overlap and ads from both weekly papers are eligible. There are special weekend prices, too. For a specialty store, I find them competitive in all of the grocery areas and they have some of the freshest and least expensive produce in Cedar Hill, Desoto and Red Oak. I used to love shopping here. The produce was always fresh. The prices were reasonable. The staff was friendly. Now, the only thing good about the store is the friendly staff. The produce is often of qustionable freshness. The prices are ridiculous. It seems that Sprout's has joined in on the price gouging that has become the new normal. The only thing good is the staff. Still, I am now shopping elsewhere. Editied to add: The new self checkout is the icing on the cake as far as the store and corporation now sucking. Between the automated check outs, never having available checkers (human beings to ring you up), and now charging for thick 'reusable' bags I'm at my limit with this place. No one reuses those thick wasteful bags that you now charge customers for, and there's no alternative bag options, STOP PRETENDING LIKE YOU CARE ABOUT THE ENVIRONMENT when it's painfully obvious the only thing that matters to SPROUTS is profits. The self checkout machines always have issues and rarely is there staff available to address issues so customers can actually purchase their items and leave without being frustrated. Since when do you go to the grocery store and use a cashier to ring up your items and bag them, but don't put them in your cart. She said it was not in her job description. When I said that's not good customer service...she said oh well...next!!! I felt a disrespected after I shopped $295 worth of groceries there and that's the treatment I received. I was pretty upset, but what made it worse was when I asked the Manager her name she became combative and started yelling it out with a few other remarks...she even went so far as to discuss it with two other customers and one coworker. The cashier was Denise!!! Even though the experience was bad...a nice lady named Nancy that had no idea what was going on came over and automatically put my bags in a cart. The Manager Kelly was trying to tell Denise to be quiet and not engage with me...she also told the store manager Robert about it and he also confirmed that they go above and beyond to help customers. Went in to pickup some fresh Salmon in the deli area. Only one young teenager work in this area. We made eye contact but he didn't offer to help me as I stood there looking at the salmon.Stood there anther five minutes and he still didn't come to help me as I stood there at counter looking at the salmon. Finally I hollered excuse me and ask if he could help me. He said "Yea ". I ask him if anyone is working the deli. He gets real annoyed looking and start looking for someone. He could not find anyone and just came up to the case with a real sour face and said "Yea" again . I ask him for 1 pound of Salmon. He gets the salmon and packages it up. Hands it to me . Doesn't say anything. I say thank you to be polite. He doesn't say anything and walks off. Just sad. Real sad. This store is so short handed that the have to hire the bottom of the barrel for staff. read more

One of my favorite grocery stores in Cedar Hill and probably the only place I can find Essentia alkaline water in the big bottles. It's a small store and can get crowded quickly. The staff are friendly and helpful. I tend to shop right after they run out of whatever vegetable I'm craving, but the guys always tell me when the next shipment will arrive. They also have an extensive selection of vitamins and herbal supplements. Produce is always fresh. I love that I can find exotic fruits, vegetables and cheeses when they are in season. What the heck is going on at this location. I have been making my pilgrimage to The Cedar Hills Sprouts since the opened and over the past couple of months the customer service has went to crap. The people on the sales floor no longer say hello. The cashiers act like they're doing you a favor taking your money. I wasn't even thanked for my purchase today, just handed the receipt as she went onto check out the next customer with the same greeting she gave me....none. At the beginning of my transaction, I'm assuming it was a manager brought up previous days receipts or payouts that the cashier evidently failed to sign and I had to wait until they completed all their previous paperwork before my transaction started. They acted like I wasn't even standing there. It's ok Sprouts managers and employees,going forward I intend to ignore you just like you ignored me and I will go spend my money at either Whole Foods or Central Market. I never expected special treatment but a hello and a thank you would have kept me business. read more

OooOoOoOOhhh! Sprouts! On my first visit to Sprouts (Cedar Hill location) they had about ten billion sales going on at the time. Like 88 cent blueberries. Even meat was priced decently. Yeah, yeah, I know this place is a veritable Mecca for vegetarians, vegans and Prius drivers, but they had beautiful bacon. Sausage stuffed portabello caps. Enticing aged beef. I bought a couple of each. Kind of a paltry pre-packed candy section. Green apple liquorice and crystallized ginger seemed less than appealing. Ritter Sport bars were marked down to $1.99 though. I was able to find tzatziki sauce (no thanks to Tom Thumb and Kroger last week) and stocked up on gyro meat and hummus. All in all I spent $53. Definitely not bad for a frou-frou health store. My text to the boyfriend on my way home: "Went to sprouts bought more food. You'll have some good choices tonight." And he was soooo proud of himself for going to Aldi the day before. read more

Love Sprouts!! This store has a great selection of produce that is fresh and ripe. They often have sales. The fresh meat selection is great as well as desserts. I frequent this location a lot and this is my first time coming at night but I decided to stop here to get some fresh salmon and I waited and made eye contact with two employees behind the counter, they both acted like I wasn't there. So I got closer to one of them and asked could I get some help and the boy told me that the person that actually gives you the fresh seafood is on break. I couldn't understand because if all you have to do is put a piece of fish in a piece of paper and tag it why couldn't he do it? I go to the front registers and ask is it a manager that could help me so she decided to page the deli worker and of course they never showed. I just feel like, as a company you guys know people get off of work so make sure you have coverage in a part like the seafood area. I wasted a whole trip up there just to walk out with nothing. One Stop Shop for All you Healthy foods! I'm so happy & grateful they put this store in my area. There are not to many health food stores in our area unless you go towards Arlington or far North Dallas. So when they built this place I was to excited. They offer a very good produce section. They have fruit & veggies that are always fresh. I also like the weekly sales and deals they have which helps with my pocket book. Now they also have a deli & meat section and its not as big but it can get the job done. They have a fairly good size on vegan meats in the frozen selection as well. I was also surprise to see they have a decent wine,selection if that is your thing also. I come here to get my spinach pasta since I don't eat gluten pasta. I Love also the area for the different supplements. I often come to Sprouts when Vitamin Shoppe is a little higher or don't have a sale going on. Clean, bright and good produce. The staff is friendly and helpful. They are hard working and keep the store looking great. There is rarely a line at the cash register and if there is they will open another. No self checkout registers here. Can you imagine looking and enter produce codes yourself? The produce is high quality and tasty! They do carry a large variety of dairy product and specialty hard to find items. I didn't know love existed until I went to Sprouts! Being the broke grad student that I am, I dealt with the often abusive relationship that is Walmart for my produce. But no more!!! Sure, Sprouts may be a bit more expensive than your typical discount megastore, but the produce and quality is infinitely better aaaannnnd the secret to saving is to shop from their weekly specials. Every week Sprouts offers some amazing deals on their produce and meat that absolutely cannot be beat anywhere. I bought a pint of blackberies for 77 cents a few weeks ago!!!! My love for Sprouts will never touch my love of Trader Joe's or our local 100 mile grocer, Cox Farms Market, but it is a great addition to the neighborhood that keeps me away from having to shop at Albertson's or another big chain with a ton of Frankenfood or having to cross I-20. Sprouts is the same as any other Sprouts you see around the nation, but I have to say that this location has pretty good customer service. While they may not be as warm as the workers at Trader Joe's or Cox, I do like that they always are very helpful when asked, and always have a knowledgeable person working in the Vitamins and Supplements section. I also dig that they have great bulk products and you can buy bottles of beer individually. That is right up my alley because I am never one to finish a six pack within a reasonable amount of time. One at a time is perfect for me. Plus, they carry some microbrews individually. PS, If you are looking for some great deals on sausages, check out the butcher. Also, don't skip the bakery or cheese section if you are trying to put together a party platter really quickly for a great price. read more
