There were multiple times that we had to have someone come back out and clean. On one occasion our bathroom floor was not vacuumed and the shower was only wiped down, not cleaned. This company is a scam. They were hired to do a townhouse cleaning and didn't actually do it, then refused a refund. I looked into it, and their website says they are BBB accredited but if you actually go to the BBB website, it explicitly says they are NOT accredited. In fact, the service wasn't booked under my name, so he's just making up some scenario saying 4 hours were booked when 9 were needed. So much BS. read more

Not only that, but their quote ended up being the most reasonable. Made me skeptical that it was too good to be true, but I was encouraged by their excellent ratings. Well, they delivered and then some. I was amazed at how well they attended to every detail, leaving my home in perfect condition to hand over. And after they were done, I was so happy with their service, I chose to have them also steam clean the carpets, also excellent and affordable. To start, I enjoyed the user-friendly website Spruse has to set up a cleaning appointment. There was some rescheduling that had to happen, but the email from Spruse did not reach me so they contacted me via text day-of. The time was adjusted, and Jackie arrived promptly. I liked how I could request add-on services like oven cleaning, fridge, and cabinets. Since it had been awhile, I chose 3 add-ons to the standard clean of our 3 bedroom house, app. 1300 sq ft. The cleaning was excellent. Jackie was a consummate pro and we were satisfied with what got done. The problem was this was not a one person, 3 hour job. With the add-ons we requested, Jackie was here for 3 hours but did not have time to clean the basement bedroom or clean the oven. This is not her fault; I would urge Spruse to utilize a 2-person crew for jobs like this. It's simply not reasonable to expect one person can complete the job in 3 hours. I was satisfied, but I may look elsewhere for the next time we do a clean. And I still need to get that oven cleaned... read more

I just want to say that it's truly a pleasure to work with Austin. He's very responsive and is great at communications and addressing customer's needs. Initially I had booked for a 3 hour deep cleaning. We discussed how this was meant for realtor photo shooting so we'd focus on exterior only and also get the windows, blinds, railing, etc. The first cleaner came on Labor Day and did a 3 hour job. It was good but not exactly to my satisfaction. Most importantly he missed the windows, blinds, and appliances. Shortly after I messaged Austin with my concern, he immediately offered to have someone else come by to redo the job. He simply said "I want you to be satisfied and we are here to do a good job." I took up the offer and the second cleaner (Andrew) did a great job even though he was substituting for someone else last minute. He was very responsive, took care of the blinds and appliances and paid attention to all the surfaces and corners. I truly believe that Spruse works hard to meet everyone's expectations. It's hard to do that because it is a service oriented industry and there are various cleaners but Austin does his best job at coordinating everyone. I will definitely use Spruse again for future cleaning needs. In fact, I may even book some recurring cleaning when I'm more settled! read more

I can't speak to their actual cleaning. I booked a deep clean on 11/9 for 12/3. They billed me on 11/16, which I thought was odd. Every service I have used in the past bills me after the cleaning. I emailed them the same day to ask if that was normal practice. I received no response. I tried rescheduling on 11/29, but because the system already billed me, it would not let me reschedule. I emailed them again and received no response. After my last email receiving no response, I did not want to spend more time on it. On 11/30, more than 48 hours before my scheduled cleaning (their timeframe for a full refund), I canceled because it would not let me reschedule. As of 12/6, I had not received a refund for my cancelation and emailed them giving them the opportunity to respond before I disputed it with my credit card company. I waited until 12/14 to see if it would be refunded. They did not refund it, nor did they respond to my email. I am in the process of disputing the charge with my credit card company. Three emails have gone unanswered and they are not following their own refund policy. I would not recommend booking a cleaning with them. read more

I've had a pretty horrible last two cleanings with Spruse. First in my home where they left the white oven cleaner smeared all over the oven and I had to wipe it off. Now at my rental where we had them come back to re-clean and after which there were still dog nose prints on the glass door, I had to clean around bathroom faucets, and we had mop the floor. It's too bad their quality declined. I do a better job at my own home and I don't get paid for it. read more

My husband had some issues with booking the cleaning on Yelp but was able to easily get it resolved by calling Spruse. We were able to get something scheduled quickly which was nice and the price is definitely reasonable in comparison to other cleaning companies we've tried. To be honest, I was skeptical that one person could do a good job cleaning my whole house. However, Catelyn did such a fantastic job! She arrived exactly when she said she was going to and finished the whole job in the promised timeframe. Catelyn is very sweet and professional and I really appreciated that she checked to see if there was any special cleaning supplies or treatments that I had that I preferred to use on my counters. My house was sparkling and smelled fresh & clean, not that nasty chemical clean that you sometimes get. I hired Spruse to take over cleaning my apartment a few weeks before the holidays and several weeks AFTER intending to clean it myself. They had great reviews, (except one which warned me they would steal my bike - but I decided to risk it). The first week, I requested the three hour deep clean plus my oven. Candice arrived on time and did a great job. The oven was spotless, the floors, toilets and surfaces were clean, and even the baseboards had been wiped down. Happiness was restored in my home and the cost was significantly less than marriage counseling. The following week, I met Sharon. In addition to everything else, Sharon cleaned the top of the cupboards above my refrigerator. I mean. . .the TOP of the CUPBOARDS!! That no-man's land of grease and dust that we pretend doesn't exist. After, she told me about a corner that she couldn't reach. I could tell that it bothered her so I lied and told her that I would take care of it myself (I'm not going to take care of it myself) But Sharon takes OCD cleanliness to the next level and I'm very happy with the quality of work. Oh, and the best part: nobody stole my bike. I never had a bike, but I if I had, I feel like it would still be there . . . and like, SUPER clean!! read more

Final Verdict: I figured that my Yelp rating somehow did not get updated. I already increased the Google rating from 1 to 3 after getting the final response from Jackii. Still, I'd like to make one thing correct: I did not receive any replies through emails from anyone until I waited for two weeks and finally stopped waiting and reached out to Spruse. I sent Spruse the screenshot of my inbox which is a proof that I haven't received any email from the cleaner or Spruse, on the day Spruse claims that they sent an email to me. Again, miscommunications happen. Emails can totally get not sent. The cleaner can make a mistake and send the email that he/she/they intended to send to me to a wrong person (which was the case.) However, the lack of check-up or communication after what happened is what disappointed me. I had to wait two weeks for a reply, wondering if the business is too busy that they're not being able to work on my case, and then reach out once again feeling bad that I'm contacting them too much. Maybe next time things like this happen, it would be a good idea for Spruse to reach out after a week to see if the customer did actually receive the support that is needed. Edit: They've finally reached out after I sent another text, but I'm still very disappointed. Seems like the cleaner "reached out" through an email, but guess what? The cleaner sent the email to Spruse, but not me. Then Spruse is asking if I got the email. Of course Spruse did. I didn't. Why? Because the email was never sent to me! Well, of course Spruse claims that it was indeed sent to me, but then 1. why is my inbox empty, which I use on a daily basis and checks every notification to keep the unread down to 0, and 2. why didn't Spruse care to at least send one check-up text or call? Very scuffed communication. Still the same rating. Also I still haven't received my money back. I do appreciate the effort they took to make it work, and I know there wasn't any evil intension. But the communication was indeed poor, and that's why although I had been content with using Spruse Clean and even had been recommending the service to my friends a lot, I decided to stop using the service. Because the real quality of a service starts to show in unpredicted situations. New review: I am totally disappointed in Spruse and I've cancelled all my future bookings. The original review that I left was for a discount, and just until then I've been using the service with no problem. Things did get different though, after a cleaner broke one of my belongings. Apart from what the cleaner originally said that they're gonna reach out before the end of of the same day, they did not reach out at all for a week. So I called them. They said that they're going to check up with the cleaner. No response. Texted them again to see if any progress has been made. Then Spruse asked "me" if the cleaner hasn't reached out to me. I replied no. Then no response again. It's been 3 weeks since the cleaner damaged my belongings and still, I haven't received any monetary compensation whatsoever. How can you trust a cleaning service if they're going to damage your property and not going to make up for it at all and keep ignoring you? I'm out. After reading all the raving reviews, we booked deep cleaning for a 4 bedroom house. I was told initially by the owner Austin it is 7 hour of work. The cleaner arrived at 1:44pm and left around 5:00pm, left a few cabinets not cleaned. Originally it was not a big deal, I contacted the owner Austin to provide my feedback simply to let him know that there were a few cabinets not cleaned. To my surprise, his first response was that the job I booked was 4.5 hour, and the cleaner did stay that long. (On one hand the cleaner stayed less than 4 hours, rushing to his next job, on the other hand, the response was different from his initial message on the time it was required for this job). He then told me the cleaner stated that he doesn't have sufficient time to finish the cleaning, and suggested to me to book 2 more hours to finish the job for additional $$. As much as I would like to recommend this company for cleaning service. after what I have experienced I am speechless about the owner's unprofessional way of handling the situation. Not only Austin didn't apology for one of his employee left without completing the job, but he suggested me to book more hours to make up for the "unfinished job". read more

I needed my bathroom deep-cleaned as part of my move-in. Austin is very quick to respond and very polite and I chose to go with Spruse. The reason why I'm giving them 4-stars is because I had to reschedule my appointment 3 times. Rescheduling is usually not a problem, but I got stood up twice and didn't get any proactive notice. After telling Austin this, he offered a free clean. I had to reschedule with the cleaner one last time but Shawn was very courteous and we found a good time tog the next day so it wasn't an issue. He walked me through how to get the bathroom cleaned up (unfortunately it needs a lot more work than what they're generally prepared to do for grout cleaning), and I was happy with his efforts and overall he was just really nice. Even with 2 cancelations and 1 more rescheduling, I'm pleasantly surprised at the level of service I got from Spruse and would use them again. read more

I hired Spruse to do a one time spring cleaning type thing. Two hours for $90 total for my 1 bedroom apartment. Scheduled for Monday night but nobody showed up. I messaged Austin and he told me the cleaning person would get in touch. Scheduling miscommunication I guess. We rescheduled for Friday and she showed up an hour and a half early! Another scheduling mixup supposedly. I wasn't happy. I rushed home to meet her. But the cleaning job was very good. Jackii stayed a bit extra to make sure the place really looked too too. I was not "waiting to leave a bad review" - in actuality, I had hoped I could continue to use you. I gave you 12 months and 24 visits to correct the glaring issues that repeatedly occurred and were brought to your attention numerous times. I was attempting to forge a relationship with a company that I hoped would take feedback to heart, and work together with me to build a working relationship over time. Finding the right cleaning company is difficult, and as I mentioned, I made numerous allowances and gave chances to show you I was willing to be your customer if I was reciprocated with good service. To me, this is more than just appeasement and excuses, it's taking things to heart and making meaningful change. 2. "Most of all I'm sorry you think this was a personal decision of priority." A proactive phone call, text, or email would have cleared 90% of these issues up. Leaving me to constantly wait and wonder for hours is just not acceptable, particularly because I schedule my day around you and your staff to ensure i'm not in the way and they can do their job. I already know there are delays in life, I am aware there is traffic in Seattle, and I know that things come up. The fact is, there was communication to alert me to any of these things, so I am left waiting around until I decide to make the first move and reach out. I need a company that will put in the due diligence to work together with me. This is just common courtesy. 3. "For any customer thinking of using us and are reading this review, please note 12 months of pleasant cleanings and 24 visits we made a couple mistakes" To be VERY clear - I would never and have never discontinued a relationship with a great service/business over a "couple" of mistakes, especially if there were improvements and communication happening. Wishing you a nice 4th weekend as well. ***ORIGINAL REVIEW*** I've waited a year to write this review, and as a yelp elite with a hefty audience, I want to clearly voice my extreme frustration and disappointment with this company; particularly the disorganization and lack of communication and accountability by the management. I made allowances over and over in hopes that my loyalty as a customer would be appreciated, but it's been made very clear that customer service will never be at the forefront of this business model. My first couple of cleans were ok, although the cleaners were never on time, but I typically don't mind a 15-20 minute wait IF someone lets me know that there's a delay. I made a mental note from early on that I would have to be the one initiating ALL communication, because I would not be receiving a heads up if anything were to happen with delays/timing/no shows. My cleanings were biweekly on a set date and time, and I was clear from the start that I had to be present initially to meet the cleaner, walk them through my home, introduce them to my dogs, go through what I wanted touched/not touched, and in doing so everyone would be comfortable if we were going to have an ongoing relationship where the cleaner would be in the home without me present. I was able to find a cleaner through spruce, but after a few months, the no-shows began, excuses were made as to why I wasn't kept informed, blame was put on the cleaner to initiate contact, and strangers were scheduled to clean my home (just a lot of useless back and forth with zero accountability). Eventually my cleaner was changed, and things were OK for awhile, and then like clockwork, the SAME issues began occurring. The last straw was today. I had a 10am booking that I confirmed the day before (because again, this company has not earned my trust, and I cannot assume that my cleanings will occur at all unless I make the effort to reach out the day before). This morning my cleaner contacted me to check in because she did not see me on her schedule like she was used to, and was confirming that I did not have an appointment. I told her that I did in fact have an appointment at my regularly scheduled time, it was confirmed, and I was waiting (this was at 9:30am). I then reached out to Spruce management, who as usual had not reached out to me, was told someone would arrive, which never happened (I was later given another excuse that they DID arrive at 10, but were cleaning the wrong apartment unit)!
