This company is a scam. We opted for a deep cleaning, which they have a nice list on their website of what the service includes: Kitchen (clean sink out, counter tops, cabinet faces upper and lower, stove top) - Cabinet faces were not cleaned at all, dust was everywhere All exterior surfaces in all rooms - Everything was covered in dust and dirt still Floors are mopped and vacuumed - There's piles of dog hair still on the floor All window sills - See the images below, these may have been wiped, but there was still dust and dirt Baseboards - See the attached images, still extremely dusty with dog hair everywhere Light switches & Door handles - These were not touched, again see the images below, they're covered.... Detailed Dusting - Almost every surface still has dust except for maybe the countertops. The range hood was filthy with dust, the fan was completely covered in dust too. There's no furniture in the unit, it should have been really easy to tell what needed dusting I also paid additionally for a fridge cleaning... which wasn't even opened from the looks of it. They said they did 3.5hrs of cleaning. The employee at our front desk verified (with camera evidence) that the cleaner was there approximately an hour. This was after cancelling on us during our first booking. If you want to make it right, maybe start by following up w the customer when you say you would ? Second even in your definition, your site asks for bedrooms specifically, and i added all the bells and whistles to add more time. I also don't have dens etc.. so it is irrelevant. Last but not least, i understand that 2ppl for 3h means 6h total... That is not what your team spent. It was first 1person for 5h or so, then 2ppl.for.2.5 when i was booking more and more bedrooms and making it 'pretty dirty' from a selection perspective though the house is super clean- i have 3 robot vacuum that run daily. If you want to make it right, you should have refunded the last cleaning given that consistently you haven't delivered and you have asked for another chance every time. This place is bad... and I mean REALLY bad. I made the mistake of thinking some of the bad reviews were just "hiccups" for other yelpers and that I'd give them a shot. BIG mistake. - Unvaccinated and maskless workers - the first shock came when my two cleaners arrived, unmasked, and I immediately asked if they were vaccinated. To this they looked at each other blankly and said "no..." like it was strange for me to ask. At that point I assumed they would put on masks, but nope, nothing. Even as I had my mask on. :( - "Move out cleaning" - as I began walking out the cleaning job with my unmasked crusaders and they immediately began telling me that z"scheduling always does this to them and that there will be no way they can finish any of this." I though this was interesting since I paid almost $400 for a move in cleaning they specifically was supposed to be a very comprehensive clean. As they reluctantly got started, I was dismayed to see they didn't even have the appropriate brushes to clean out the window tracks (one of my primary asks), so I supplied them with brushes to clean these....and you guessed it, they still didn't get done. - Hardwood cleaning - I had asked them to not use harsh cleaners on my brand new hardwood floors, but I didn't ask them to dump any drawer dust / debris they found out onto the floors and just leave it in a pile when they left (the pile was literally right next to their vacuum cleaner). - Glass cleaner for.... Anything? - these very inexperienced cleaners were spraying glass cleaner on stainless fridges, showers, floors, wood cabinets, counters... just about everything BUT glass. Must have been on sale at the dollar store. When the two cleaners abruptly left, my job was less than 25% cleaned and they again blamed "scheduling." No way to Contact - There is no way to speak to a person at this company. They only email or txt. When you try to call back the txt line, you get a strange message. Owner escalation - The owner of this company refused to acknowledge (or apologize) that his employee's practices around not wearing masks was unsafe. Instead, he argued he didn't need to make them wear masks. On its own, that is really bad.. but then coupled with the COMPLETE lack of actual cleaning, makes SPRUSE the worst cleaning company (and quite possibly just the worst company) I have ever encountered. read more

Very disappointed with their service I should have paid more attention to reviews I thought previous customers didn't pay enough or didn't request for specific service. However, I specifically added/ paid all the items and talked in advance to the manager for professional staff. Many of the spots were left (inside and outside cabinets, shelves, window blinds). Paid $400+ for their advertised 'move in' cleaning package. Our new house had just had the floors resurfaced and stained, and we needed things cleaned prior to moving in. I selected just about every option on their website and was expecting service that would equate to a 'move in' worthy level. Pictures featured are not before pictures... they are after pictures. 8 hrs of work and basically nothing to show for it. The only reason they get 2 stars is after speaking with the owner on the phone, I was refunded $20 and they sent another technician the next morning to address my concerns. Timely response I guess. It was very awkward for both of us to have you on speaker phone with an unhappy customer (since the cabinets weren't going to be cleaned of contact paper residue, even though I explicitly called this out in the 'notes' section of the intake form and was never informed that is in fact out of scope), and I felt compelled to share she had done a good job elsewhere. After that call and agreeing to the $20 refund for 'cabinets', we both left the property. I contacted your customer support on Saturday, 8/20 with the pictures. Not the 'next week', literally less than 48 hrs later. It was the fist time anyone had been in the house since Thursday. NO WORK had been done in the house between Thursday and Saturday. It was only when we began to move into the property that my wife and I noticed nothing in the closets had been wiped down, along with the rest of the pictures shared. As I mentioned in my original review, the whole point to hiring a move in cleaning was to address the sawdust left from a floor renovation the week prior. I clean my house every week without a miss and I just needed a professional to come and make it sparkling clean for areas I'm not able to do. I actually cleaned the house for the cleaner before she arrived. We hired this company to do a deep clean, should have listened to other reviewers. The cleaner arrived on time and spent five hours for a deep clean. In her five hours here, she could only do two rooms, kitchen and a .75 toilet which she somehow managed to leave extremely dirty. At one point she was sitting on the floor wiping down cabinets, here is a pic of the cabinet she was sitting by- still dirty. She didn't manage to touch a single bedroom, she cleaned the other two bathrooms in 5 minutes and those are dirty as well. So in the five hours she was here, she cleaned. 600 sq ft area and that too not properly. The before and after pics they post are for cleaners to justify their time. I can find 5 spots in my house that I can clean in few seconds and post a before and after. Stay away from this business and find a cleaning company that actually does a good job. read more

I looked into several cleaning companies before settling on Spruse, due to their Yelp reviews and responsiveness. I didn't appreciate feeling like I was being pushed into a contract before even trying them out, but I finally got a price for a one-time clean and booked it online easily. They strongly recommended that I say it was "very dirty" and to get the "deep clean" because I had not had a cleaning service before, so I did. They sent one person for just under 5 hours, for a 2 bdrm, 2-1/2 bthrm 850 sq foot home. I specifically requested that they bring extension tools to clean some cobwebs at the top of a tall ceiling that I haven't been able to reach. The cleaning woman did some basic items - like dusting all the windowsills and vacuuming the stairs (we only have carpet on the stairs and 1 room) and cleaning the stove and kitchen counter. However, I noticed that she forgot to sweep or mop half the living room, and never mopped under the dining room table. Even the kitchen was poorly mopped - I re-mopped it and had a bunch of gunk on my mop. When I lifted the couch cushions, they were not vacuumed at all. And that's just the main floor - I haven't looked upstairs yet in the bedroom, but my cobwebs are still on the ceiling that I can't reach. I didn't expect them to clean the windows or inside the window tracks (which are dirty and do need work) but I expected a deep clean to at least mop my floors properly and clean cobwebs and vacuum the couch. UPDATE: Be wary: Spruce puffs up its public image based on paid reviews while repeatedly pedaling promises they have no intention of fulfilling. The second charge occurred when I canceled an upcoming cleaning with far more than the 48-hour notice they require. What gets me is they promise to reverse the charges, and yet after repeated inquiries they just don't. I ultimately had to go through the hassle of disputing the charges with my credit card company. There are few facts before any personal comments. 1. They don't have professional planning on cleaners' schedule, nor coordinator. Average waiting is 1 hours and more for your scheduled appointment. 2. The wrong phone number can be given to your cleaner and you won't know it, cause you ententes the correct number and the online confirmation page shows the correct number as well. 3. Not all team members are professional, if you cannot be present during the whole cleaning process, you need to think about the risk. Here are some personal experience for a recent booked move out cleaning experience. Though I mentioned "please let me know 30 minutes before your eta arrival time" repeatedly, I waited over 1 hour in my unit for the cleaner to arrive. After she arrived, I leave the unit to the cleaner and did not come back on the same day to check it out. 1 days later when I come back and check, I'm beyond shocked. The cleaner wax and polished my bamboo floor. First of all, bamboo floor don't need any waxing at all. Secondly, why would a cleaning company polish/wax floor during a move out clean?! Third, it was horribly done, the floor looks super messy with foot prints everywhere. Besides, all cabinets were left uncleaned, the kitchen surfaces have multiple dirts spots too, which I can remove easily by wiping with paper towel. I have the most horrible weekend dealing with Austin the owner on the fix, spend 2.5 hours waiting for their team to arrive and fix it. Not saying they have a bad attitude, all experts from Spruse team are polite and repeatedly apologize to this situation. Austin tried his best on sending 3 experienced cleaners to my place, we just got beaten by the unbelievable floor condition. I let the team go around 7pm and cleaned by myself till 10pm that day to only to get the entrance area cleaned. On the next day they send me the cleaner who is responsible for this messy floor. I appreciate her courage to admit the mistake and taking responsibility of it. And I don't want to blame her further more with all the effort she put in to correct this mistake. This whole experience is just horrible, cause my goal of hiring a cleaning service is to save time. Customer beware!!! This business is a SCAM. They had their BBB license REVOKED. Like the many other negative reviews on this business, I have had major issues with this "company". I signed up for the monthly subscription. The first cleaning was done very poorly. I immediately cancelled. I rarely if ever leave poor yelp reviews and chose to cancel my service rather than write a review. However, I was charged again the next month and received a text that my cleaner was on the way. They apologized and refunded and said they resolved the issue. No problem. Again the next month I was charged to my credit card, this time they didn't even try to send anyone! When I messaged them they said I had not cancelled. It was only when I forwarded them our prior correspondence for the same issue did they refund me. Still I chose not to do anything. Now monthly later I received a THIRD charge for service I did not receive after I've been told three times by the owner that he personally removed me from my system. This company is just a big scam. I had them scheduled in the month of Oct for a deep clean with 2 of their staff people for 4 1/2hr each and paid 400$ for the services. 2 people arrived and left within 1 1/2hr of 4 1/2hrs they were supposed to clean. We had to get in contact with the tech support to even get to know about their early exit which was another big task and upon some verification they sent us "senior tech" for another day to clean our house which was not satisfactory at all. The staff is a big joke, they just aren't responsible and look for quick ways to finish and run away from the job. They don't even inform you that they are done with their job and literally escape from you. I had to repeatedly request them to clean certain areas as it didn't look clean at all. Steer clear of this company. Like others mentioned, they try to lock you in from the first cleaning. We had one house cleaning and were very displeased. Stairs weren't cleaned, sheets and duvet covers weren't replaced (even after we pointed this out!) and garbages weren't emptied. Kitchen sink wasn't cleaned, and on and on. Also, one of the crew removed her mask while she was working. To make things worse they charged us a fee after we cancelled the recurring service. We were going to do a professional clean of the house for the first time in our life and so we did a lot of research. Of all the businesses we got quotes from, Spruse had the best balance between professionalism and price. Their website is great -- not the best, but good enough to quickly and easily reserve a cleaning appointment. You can very easily get an estimate of how much each item costs and compare them. I really liked the transparency and breakdown of costs. We live in a townhouse, so there's lots of stairs in the house, and Shawn did an amazing job in about 2-3 hours. read more

Don't waste your time and money hiring Spruse. Seriously spend a little more for a reliable company that will show up when scheduled and actually clean your house. I can put aside the headache of scheduling, being misquoted, having no communication whatsoever when they didn't show up and even them needing to reschedule if ultimately they did a good clean, but they just didn't, even with the extra hours of work they said they'd need for our house despite getting a quote from both the website and Austin, the owner himself, ahead of time and the extra charge for these hours. Please look at the pictures from after our "move out/in clean" which is their deepest level of clean to know what you can expect after paying over $300. I've included my initial conversation with Austin through yelp's quote service to show my due diligence in honestly representing the size of our house, level of clean we requested, my concerns about booking for the day before a holiday, our tight timeline and my openness to changing the booking if he thought it was unrealistic. Despite this conversation, our 8am-10am arrival window came and went without a word from Austin or any cleaners. I called Austin to check in and he said his employee had sent out emails the night before to cancel but after I couldn't find the email anywhere, not even in my spam, he insisted that he sat there with her while she sent them so there's no way I didn't get it. Okay... I certainly got the confirmation email the day before and why not call if you need to cancel? After reiterating our tight schedule and how I specifically asked about cleaners calling out in my original conversation with him before booking, he said he'd get the remaining cleaners to come out within an hour. So an hour comes and I get a text from the cleaner saying they won't arrive until 5pm. So much for our move! 5pm comes around and I don't hear anything so I follow up with the cleaner who starts complaining that there's no way the house is under 3,000 square feet (it's 2,900) and there's no way they can clean it in the allotted time. I can totally understand her frustration at this point, she's already been cleaning all day and gets this last minute job from her boss, but the scheduling form doesn't even ask for the square footage of the house! I had even included it on the original yelp form, as you can see in the pictures, along with number of bedrooms/bathrooms, type of clean etc. so it's not my fault if the cleaners were booked for too short of a time. I followed all instructions and booked correctly through the Spruse website, even confirmed the quote with the owner himself, at the very least don't charge me for the extra time when it's your company's mistake. I called Austin in the following days after the "clean" to address these issues and he said he doesn't handle these problems and gave me a new number to call, only after condescendingly trying to navigate me to a contact page on the Spruse website that didn't exist. Nothing came of my call to that new number and I chose to contest the charges through my credit card so I wouldn't have to deal with Austin anymore, but go figure, I couldn't get credited back because I didn't follow Spruse's policy for complaints. We wanted to do a deep cleaning for our house, and was quoted 191$ through Yelp and also when booked through their website it showed 191, but when I checked my credit card charge it showed 220$, when asked they said it is a system thing where for a certain number of bed/bath they have to do a deep clean for 4.5 hours. The lady who came to our house did okish job, and when told her that she missed few places she started giving us lot of attitude, and left after 4 hours. So i called the second cleaner hanna and she was embarassed herself that shawn did a horrible job and she even said he isnt that good of a cleaner nor not a senior cleaner which company said no one complained bout him and hes a senior cleaner. Really? Thats your company standard? If you are reading this and wanting to try this company think again. All the one star review and including mine is true. If you have question bout the cleaning job they did at my bluse message me i will explain more thoroghly, Finally i email the support whjch they did say sorry and offer free cleanin for next time buti told him i just want my money back for all the hassel, lies and stress that your company gave me. We reserved a DEEP clean, 6.5 hours, to clean our 1000 sq ft condo. The end result was incomplete to put it nicely. While the cleaner was very friendly and personable, the service ended up what looked like a typical cleaning that anyone could do with a vacuum and a swiffer. Almost every surface still contained dust, and MOST surfaces were not touched at all. We specifically requested walls and windows to be cleaned, walls were not touched AT ALL, and windows still had dust and debris in the sills. This was not a deep clean, this was hardly a normal clean (shower still dirty, rugs unkempt). Fridge was cleaned (we paid extra for it) but still has obvious dirty spots. The gas range was cleaned, but the grate still had food on it! Almost everywhere we looked there was still dirt and dust. I don't think I should come home to a deep clean where a table in the center of the main room still has a thick layer of dust on it. Our feeling after this was that we needed to clean up! We have reached out several times to Spruce. Their customer service is on par with their cleaning service. Their phone message misleading and confusing, it redirects you to a different number than on the website. When you call that number, it is just a voice message letting you know to call that same number! A rep Austin did eventually call me back. After seemingly sounding sympathetic to my experience, did not follow up at all! I have called back multiple times since then to no avail. To top it all off, this company PAYS people to leave reviews on Yelp and Google, you get $25 off for each review. I have a feeling that is why their rating is so high. This was an awful experience and I expect to be refunded at some point, if I can ever get in touch with them. read more

Horrible experience ... highly unprofessional ... didnt turn up the day of the appointment and then i literally had to chase em down the next day to get someone to deep clean and the deep clean turned out to be a terrible version of basic cleaning where the floor had stains, there was dust as it was before and stains in the tub and cabinets... the list is endless... they sent one person to do the job of deep cleaning a 2 bedroom 2 bathroom apartment in 3 hrs and the person was on her phone cleaning at her pace and then after 3 hrs just left without informing us so there was nothing we could do read more

Like others have said, they're cheap for a reason. The cleaning was fine, I guess, but definitely a lot of missed spots. If there is anything on the floor (like a wire) they won't move it and instead go around it. Our couch is quite high off the ground and it looks like they just swept all the hair and fur underneath it. They do a good job of cleaning the counter tops (and they did manage to remove a sticker that got stuck to it) but the details really avoid them. The baseboards were untouched, there's still soap scum in a few places, the electric range looks like it was just wiped down with a towel, windowsills are untouched, walk in closet floor was untouched, and there are some shoe prints and paper bits on the floor. TLDR: it's cleaner, but not great. Definitely will go with someone else next time. read more

My first appointment was rescheduled and then on the second my time frame was 9-5 which would have been fine, but they would not give me an eta half way through the day and then they said they would be here my 5, I finally got a message after 5 and then they said they could not locate my apartment and they do not have a call feture, only text, chat, and email. The Cleaners didn't arrive on time, I need to call them more than 8-10 times to get them arrived, They take pretty long time to clean and they will go in between the cleaning to attend some one, Cleaning wise i can say they do ok job, i advise please do not give them home to them for cleaning, they will do 60-70% of work and they will leave.. make sure you stay with them and get them cleaned. read more

I'm updating this review to show how pleased we've with Sprouse for the past year. Hannah is a rockstar of a cleaner, communications on scheduling and cancellations is clear from the office, and the price can't be beat for Seattle. Hannah is respectful of our time, completely covid-safe, and even our dumb but loveable dog who doesn't trust anyone is starting to like her. I also love the little touches - our daughter is delighted every month when Hannah arranges her stuffed animals in fun positions in her room, things in the kitchen are thoughtfully put away, and she sometimes even puts away laundry (even though we've never asked for that!) Services did not meet our expectations: Pro: - all staff are friendly, communicate well, and are accessible. Cons: - Ran into issues with booking the services. My first cleaner did not show up and had to reschedule services to another day (From 04/27 to 05/04). Which I didn't mind until I noticed the services were also lacking. - The cleaner did not clean the dishes, make the bed, remove the stains from the tub or sink and the floor was sticky (Even after asking her to redo it). Mind you, we paid for a deep clean and did not even receive regular cleaning services. - I paid extra for laundry and organization. The housekeeper did not fold all the clothes, and she did not organize the closet. Overall, we will not be using this company again. read more

I subscribed to a monthly clean for my 2BR 2BA apartment and my second clean was completed today. I'm very happy with Spruse overall and with our cleaner, Jackii. I will list the pros, areas for improvement, tips, and some suggestions below, but overall I gave a 5 star rating because I'm a satisfied customer! Pros: - Online booking: it is so convenient and it gives you upfront pricing. In a digital age where convenience is key, I tend to choose establishments that allow you to book online. - Pricing: their pricing is competitive, and most importantly, upfront when you go through their website. - Quality: second time around, and Jackii's work was awesome. I'm very happy with the cleaning she provides! Areas for improvement - Communication: there was some information that wasn't communicated in a timely manner. - Scheduling: there were scheduling errors with my two cleans so far. This goes hand in hand with the communication aspect. Not sure if they were both one-offs, but I feel that if you book, your schedule needs to be flexible, or you need to be proactive in contacting them. Tips - If you want green products used, I suggest you provide your own. Don't complain about them not using natural products because they don't promise that in their website. Suggestions Website information: they state 2 hour cleans for regular cleans on the website, then extra bedrooms and bathrooms are add ons (and added expense). I think it would be good to explain that adding extras would also add more time. I also think that the available schedules should be changed and that the 6-8am timeframe can be removed since this is no longer applicable.
