They've really gone down in quality since the other location closed. The plain glazed yeast donuts were bready, kind dry, heavy at 830am. The coconut yeast was more moist but still too bready and dense for a perfect fluffy donut. The cruller was totally meh- kinda dry and rubbery but not inedible. The old fashioned was dry. The chocolate glazed yeast was heavy/bready but it was not dry like the plain glazed yeast which was nice. The chocolate cake donut had some crispiness to the outside and was moist. The blueberry cake was less moist and had no crispiness sadly. Overall very average. read more

What is it about potato doughnuts?? These things are delicious, light, fluffy and fresh and come in so many different flavors that you will find something for everyone -- but get two of everything because you won't want to share. Highly recommend the lemon filled, coconut, and maple bacon, but even the plain doughnuts were really, really good. Parking was a little tight because the place was packed when we arrived, but the staff were efficient and friendly so the line moved faster than anticipated. Plan on taking your order to go as there's no where to sit and eat inside. And if you're able to make it out of the parking lot without enjoying one first in your car, then you have more willpower than me! read more

Our first time we stopped in to get an apple fritter alas they were out however we picked up a lovely old-fashioned donut and an apple filled donut. The old fashioned donut was creamy and cakey and sweet and perfect and just as I was finishing that lo and behold out runs a very helpful and friendly man handing us an Apple fritter on the house fresh out of the oven my husband was amazed!!! They use 50% potato flour and 50% wheat flour (I called and was informed of this after the fact). Don't make the mistake I did and assume since they say they use potato flour that it's completely safe. It is NOT gluten free and will cause a reaction if you are celiac. Sorry I took one for the celiac team. It's very unfortunate and I wish they would just use 100% potato flour so it would be safe for everyone. read more

After reading stellar reviews, and I was craving something fluffy, I stopped in. Cases were full of fresh donuts, on a Thursday at lunchtime. Back in the day, using potatoes in your donut meant a much fluffier airy donut. So, I get why they do. Here's my gripe. They are fat in size, but somewhat meh in flavor. If you are looking for a puffy fluffy roll with manufactured icing on top, then this is your place. $9 for a half dozen rolls basically with paste on the top. While the donuts are not sickening sweet, the custard they use for the filled donuts is bland. I semi enjoyed the one with the toasted pecans on it. The rest were just pomme de terrible. So basically, all fluff here, and I'd hesiTATEr to come back. read more

Had to try this place! Was in the area so I stopped by to buy donuts to share with my family. Glad I did because everyone enjoyed eating the donuts. These donuts have a good and distinct flavor, and I could tell they were very fresh. Our favorites of the ones I brought home were the coconut cream and custard filled. The toasted coconut was good too, as well as the glazed and crueler. The staff person working was super nice and helpful. She answered all my questions and thanked me for stopping by. My donuts from spudnut were delicious! I got a chocolate frosted raised donut and a strawberry lemon glazed cake donut, and they were both excellent. I don't think I'd ever had potato donuts before, but I couldn't tell the difference from a regular donut! I got a coffee too, but the donuts were the star of the show. There was a decent line when I showed up on a Sunday morning, but staff were friendly and efficient and standing in line gave me time to choose from the many many flavors they offered. I appreciated that they had a lot of options for both raised and cake donuts. I would love to go back, as this may be my new favorite donut place in the Cleveland area. read more

I wish that I could give Spudnuts 7/10 stars. I drove all the way from Lyndhurst to Berea to try spudnut donuts after seeing them featured on an Instagram page. I am a serious doughnut lover and will go out of my way to try new donuts. I had never even heard of spudnut so I thought it would be worth the drive. The positive parts of my experience what is that the atmosphere had a very old-school traditional donut shop feel which I always love. The staff there was extremely friendly and helped me make some decisions with my flavors. It was such a nice surprise when I was about to leave and they sent me home with an extra donut of A flavor they thought that I should try. I was really impressed by the variety of donut choices that they had and I had a hard time making up my mind! I ended up leaving with a chocolate cream filled doughnut, butter pecan donut and a sprinkle donut. The cream was quite tasty and the pecans, which are locally roasted, we're great. I also enjoyed the actual donut which reminded me of buttery white bread. The negatives, if I even want to call them that, are that regardless of all of my three donuts being very different flavors, they all tasted the same. It doesn't make sense and I don't really know how to explain it, but it is very true. The donuts were not necessarily some thing that I would go back to Berea for more, but would be very happy to try more flavors if they were around. read more

Went with my good friend and was excited because we had never been there! We asked how much donut holes were and the worker rudely responded with "we don't do those try dunkin or something" very rudely and sharply. Wonderful customer service and delicious donuts- If you're wondering what a potato donut tastes like, if you've ever tried potato bread at the grocery store, it's pretty similar to that. You probably wouldn't know it unless you knew! I asked for an assortment because I can never decide with so many options. Potato flour donuts, upon my research, seem to be a thing of the past, and the concept isn't popular in Northeast Ohio. I don't get out to Berea often but found myself in the area for a meeting. I didn't want to arrive empty-handed, so I stopped here to pick up a dozen donuts. A dozen donuts was about $15 (can't quite remember) and I asked the gal to give me a good assortment. She mixed it up with both custard-filled and regular donuts, with everything from Key-Lime Filled to Glazed. They have a walk-up window currently because of COVID restrictions, and I appreciated the 6-ft markers on the ground and that the employee assisting me was wearing a mask and gloves. She was so quick. It meant a lot to me to have a speedy experience during this pandemic. When I arrived at my meeting with the donuts, many of the guests sounded off with a unanimous "Oh, Lauren brought Spudnuts!" in joyous glee. The donuts were a hit. I loved the thick consistency and not overly sugary coma from eating one. The Maple Bacon may have honestly been my favorite donut in Northeast Ohio. There's plenty of seating inside at the counter as well as a patio that looks lovely during the warmer months. I got here with a friend around 3 or 4 PM and there was a surprising large selection of donuts to chose from (I thought there would be less since it was so late in the day). I grabbed the chocolate cream donut and my friend got a few to take home to the family. The chocolate cream was pretty standard though the donut wasn't as full with it as I thought it would be. The cake itself was pretty dense and wasn't too sweet on its own. Overall I was a bit underwhelmed but that's not to say these are bad in any way.
