This review is strictly for the pizza. I can't speak for the other food, as I haven't tried it. Firstly, the lady working the register, through short conversation, is very sweet. Props to her. Anyway, over the phone I had asked for "the smallest sprinkle of cheese" long story short, the pizza dough was still raw because there was too much cheese covering it. Spukie's is underrated. The people that work there are so pleasant. The pizza was great. The crust on the bottom of the pizza was toasted but not burned so the pizza slice was no floppy. I hate floppy pizza. The crust was almost perfect, the recipe needs a little salt to give the crust a little more flavor....but I also never make pizza crust I am just talking from my taste buds. I ordered a salad with just lettuce and other typical veggies, no meat and it was approximately 14 dollars which I think is too much money especially if there isnt a protein. I order from Spukies in Dorchester Ma every week. I always order the same sandwich. Veal Parm. Tonight I ordered my usual and I ordered my husband Veal with American cheese and tomato. They sent two Veal and Tomato. When I called them to tell them this they said that is what I specified. I told them I'm looking at my order and it clearly shows special instructions under ONE of the subs. I asked if they would please send me a new sub. Delivery guy shows up with a small bag. I asked what is this? He said it's sauce? What? I called back and told them I would like a new sub. That a veal American cheese is not Veal Parm. He proceeds to yell at me that he will send me a new sub but you are wrong. The picture of the order below shows Veal Parm with special instructions greeted out - no special instructions. Oh, greasy wonderful deliciousness, how you have captured my heart. Spukies is pretty much the ultimate treat for my guy and I - we LOVE getting it. Usually, he gets the buffalo chicken pizza (he loves it) and I get pepperoni and pineapple (which they make just right!), and it's a race to see who can stuff themselves to the point of discomfort. We've also ordered appetizers and sandwiches, and been very pleased with both. Did I mention that their specials make everything crazy affordable? Two larges and a free small cheese for ~$20? This is one of my FAVORITE pizza places around and it's definitely my FAVORITE in the lower mills area. Their pepperoni pizza is AMAZING. But only when it's hot -- i've tried re-heating and it was sub-par, but when you get it just out of their oven, it's melting in your mouth. The pizza has a bit of a kick, like there is some pepper in their sauce. Its really enjoyable. The crust is even tasty, and I'm really picky when it comes to pizza crust. Warning: If you don't like greasy pizza or a buttery crust or a cheesy pull with each bite-- steer clear. This is where you'll find all of these things. DH & I order the "Party Pizza" when we go just so we can make sure to get enough for everyone who will ask when they smell the beautiful aromas from this place. I go to spukies on the way home from the gym from time to time and get some always great, and sometimes healthy food. Wraps are really good, like the Caesar or buffalo chicken. SNAP! Thats the sound a pizza is supposed to make when you fold it in half. Spukies pizza is never greasy, the crust is never burnt, and their delivery times are accurate (when they say 30 minutes, they MEAN 30 minutes). They are probably my favorite pizzeria in the Milton-area, offering a good selection of sandwiches, pizza, and finger food at decent prices. My only complaints are that they are closed on Sunday's (which is one of those days no one really wants to cook) and some of their specialty pizzas have a mozzerella/chedder cheese blend. Love this place! I grew up nearby and they've always had great food since I was a kid, very consistent! The pizzas are delicious, we usually get an XL with half Hawaiian, half regular cheese. The calzones are also phenomenal and huge! We love the chicken parmigiana calzone with both mozzarella and ricotta. The onion ring are on point when they have the normal beer battered ones, but sometimes they have a different kind which has crumbly pieces breading it which aren't as good. The fries here are great too. We also recommend the Caesar salad. They used to have a frequent buyer card where the 10th pizza was free but they aren't currently running that promotion. read more
