Great service at the bar! She was very personable and knowledgeable about the menu too. The broiled haddock was fantastic with the rice and broccoli. I will return on a summer's night!

They are opened again. Right now just for sandwiches and drinks. Good selection of beer on tap. I had a tuna wrap with fries. Very good. Blue Moon on tap.

Blasi's has become my go to place to grab food when I can't decide on another place to eat. You can't go wrong here. My favorite meal to get here is the BBQ steak tip sub. It has a nice amount of steak on it. It comes with fries and they'll give you a ton of those. When I've dined in, the staff takes good care of me. I've also had some pasta dishes that are good too. I highly recommend coming here to eat. Make sure you end your meal with an Italian ice!

Parking is tricky and they do tow across the street. Hard to get quick service so if you are in a rush use the takeout counter.

Is blasi's closed? every time I drive by it looks like nothing has changed since the fire. I just tried calling and it said "the number you've called is out of service"

Blasi's suffered a fire and has been closed for approximately a year. We loyal Dorchester folks will wait for as long as it takes to bring this neighborhood favorite back. Sending well wishes to the Blasi family.

oh. em. gee. best pasta i've ever had in my life…read more i was looking online for an italian restaurant and this came up multiple times. first off, the interior is gorgeous, plush green seats and antique style. we ordered their special items of the night: lobster risotto and the vodka veal. genuinely the best risotto i've ever had. the people online were not lying when they said their vodka rigatoni was the best. it was indeed very very delicious. even though all of us were full from the pasta, we still had to get tiramisu. it was a perfect way to end the meal. our server was great and attentive, thank you for a wonderful meal.

7/5/26: I stopped by Gigi for lunch around 1 PM on a Sunday, and surprisingly the restaurant was…read morealmost empty. My guess is that this is more of an evening destination where people come for cocktails and the atmosphere rather than lunch. We ordered a Diet Coke, the Scampi appetizer, Carbonara, and the Rigatoni Alla Vodka. The scampi was easily the best part of the meal. It was flavorful, cooked well, and made for a nice appetizer to start things off. Unfortunately, the pastas didn't quite meet expectations, especially considering the price. The Rigatoni Alla Vodka was $28, but the pasta wasn't cooked al dente and felt overdone. The Carbonara, also $28, was disappointing as the eggs had curdled and the dish ended up being much oilier than I expected. At $18, the scampi was enjoyable, but overall I don't think the food justified the price point. One bright spot was the service. Our waitress was incredibly kind, checked in on us frequently, and made sure we had everything we needed throughout the meal. The restaurant itself is beautiful and has a very aesthetic design. I can definitely see why it's popular on social media. There is also outdoor seating, which I imagine would be a nice option on a warm summer evening. One thing I did notice, though, is how closely the tables are spaced together. Since the restaurant was mostly empty during our visit it wasn't an issue, but I could see it feeling crowded and fairly loud once the dining room fills up. I was honestly surprised by the meal because Gigi is part of the Mazi Restaurant Group, and I've really enjoyed some of their other concepts, especially Kava Neo-Taverna. Based on this experience, though, I think there are plenty of Italian restaurants in Boston that offer better food and better value for the same price. Overall, I'd give Gigi 3/5 stars. The service and atmosphere were both strong, but the food didn't live up to the pricing. If I came back, it would probably be for drinks, appetizers, and the ambiance rather than a full Italian dinner.

As someone who has lived in the neighborhood most of…read moremy life, Venezia has always felt like more than just a restaurant--it's a place run by genuinely caring people who make you feel like family. The Bruno family, managers, and staff have always been welcoming, often taking a few moments to stop by and chat. Their hospitality is one of the many reasons we frequent there. Last Wednesday, following my father's funeral, our family held a gathering at Venezia in the back room overlooking the water and Boston. The view was wonderful, the food was excellent, and the staff worked incredibly hard to ensure that every guest was taken care of throughout the afternoon. A special thank you to Laurie, who helped coordinate everything from the beginning. She went above and beyond, frequently checking in to make sure everything was running smoothly and that our family had everything we needed during a very difficult time. On behalf of my entire family, I want to sincerely thank Laurie, the staff, and the Bruno family for their kindness, professionalism, and support. Your efforts meant more to us than you know, and you helped make a difficult day a little easier. We are truly grateful.

Based on several high recommendations, I visited your restaurant with expectations of a premium experience, but unfortunately, the service and food quality fell significantly short. While the waterfront view was beautiful, the service we received was disappointing from the start. Upon arrival, the hostess left us waiting mid-seating to prioritize an interruption. Once seated, our waiter was excessively loud when presenting the specials. Later in the meal, we had to ask for parmesan cheese, which was served in a small bowl rather than freshly grated at the table, despite seeing the grater used for other guests. Furthermore, we noticed the manager engaging warmly with neighboring tables while completely ignoring ours, which left us feeling unwelcome. The quality of the food was also unacceptable for the price: - Charcuterie Board ($25): The ingredients did not taste fresh and the presentation was disorganized. - Chicken Parmigiana: The presentation was unappealing, the pasta was overwhelmed by marinara sauce, and the entire dish was tasteless. - Pan-Seared Scallops: The scallops were rubbery and overcooked. My sister could only eat one and left the rest of the plate untouched. Despite our waiter noticing this, no attempt was made to address the issue or involve a manager. - Chocolate Temptation: The dessert was also highly disappointing. We chose not to complain further during our visit as we did not want it to seem as though we were merely looking for a complimentary meal. However, given the reputation of your restaurant, I wanted to bring these serious lapses in food quality and hospitality to your attention. Venezia is check off my list!

Still really good nonetheless. Lumache (8/10): The chew on the pasta is impeccable!! The chew on those mushrooms is also insane. Texture-wise, this dish was a home run. For some reason, I kept getting hints of something resembling boar taint in the sauce flavor itself. Not sure why... I don't think there was meat? I feel like I would've given this dish a 10/10 had it not been for the hint of that flavor. Service was very friendly and fast. The restaurant is small, but the seating didn't feel too tight. Even though I gave it a 5/5, I actually don't know if I would come again. The pasta was very steeply priced for not that much food.
