Okay, we are fans. The best omelettes on the planet? Well, I guess that depends on what you are looking for. If you are looking for a massive dumping of eggs -- you are not going to find that here. (Unless it is somewhere we did not look) If you are looking for what is in the fold, this is the place to go. The try on the first visit was the 37. Racy Tracy: so the bomb AND THE FOOD NETWORK STAR! Bacon, avocado, mushrooms and jack cheese. On the second visit it was the 59. Holy Crab!: Ooh la la! A quarter pound of Alaskan King Crab sautéed in butter with sliced green onions, then folded into eggs with monterey jack cheese, and topped with avocado and a lemon wedge. I was warned that Holy Crab is a love hate thing -- for me the crab mixed with the egg was fine. The problem, however, was I missed the bacon from the Racy -- hmmm, maybe a new combination for next time. If that was not good enough the newbie reward for checking in via foursquare was a Mimosa: champagne and Odwalla oj or a Hibiscus: champagne and cranberry juice. It was not only good -- it was freakishly large as well! Okay, if that was still not good enough we were surprised by Nicole (if I am even close to getting the name right) who remembered everything we ordered previously on just our second visit. A group of 12 of us went to the Squeeze In for breakfast. When we saw how small the place was, we thought there would be no way, especially with others waiting. The response was, "let me work on it... can you wait 5-10 minutes?" Oh heck yes! Within 30 seconds of sitting, drink orders were be taken and menus distributed. Heidi, our SUPERB, server came by and answered question, joked with us and then took our orders. As each order came out, we could see that the food was going to be great. 12 guys, 12 different orders and in the end, we ALL agreed that the breakfasts were great! Heidi was very attentive and kept us smiling and laughing! She showed off their "Hail Mary" Bloody Mary with bacon, grilled cheese sandwich & more! It was huge and pretty unbelievable. Ok our last day in Truckee and we finally get up and go down for breakfast. Glad we did, we ordered Coffee first really nice and smooth. My wife had Eggs Benedict nice, but not writing home about it. I get why the locals, and tourists, call this place a gem. They are 100 percent correct. We had breakfast here one morning on vacation. We had a great mix of all their specialties: a feast of truly unique pancakes and a splendid selection of off-the-wall eggs benedict. A truly glorious wait-staff pointed out that the bigger mimosa was a better value, and me, not being good with the maths, was ever grateful. The wait-staff encouraged us to come back for repeats the next day: and we did. I'd highly recommend eating here twice like we did, but it's understood if you can only eat there once, it's totally understandable. But just know eating there twice is not overkill. Dang...were we hungry...and we found the right place! The hubs and I got up at 2:00 in the morning to drive to Reno to see the hot air balloon races! Coming back down the hill to Sac-town we needed a big breakfast. Can you say starving? Yelp did not disappoint and steered us to the Squeeze In. We had to wait about 20 minutes, which is totally okay for a Sunday. The place is small and the line grew as we were waiting. Service is fast and efficient. Prices are reasonable, especially considering the hefty portions. They have like 500 types of omelettes! The place was on Throwdown with Bobby Flay for an omelette challenge! It is in Old Town Truckee with cute shops nearby. Parking is on the street. I had a giant omelette with potatoes and wheat toast. Hubs had two eggs, ham, potatoes and biscuit and gravy. Everything was great! My omelette was STUFFED with STUFF. Mmmmmm. It's five hours later and I'm still full. Scarf. We would go back next time for sure. When in Truckee and hungry for breakfast you gotta go here. This place is tiny and the wait on the weekends is long but well worth it. The portions are huge and the breakfasts are full of carbs, grease and salt which makes for the most delicious hangover cure. No bar but they will pour you a killer bloody mary, or greyhound if you ask. I love the scramble, the sandwiches and the breakfast burritos. The menu is huge you can't go wrong with anything and I promise you will find something you like. First off and foremost, Tiana, our waitress for both times we went this past weekend, was nothing short of amazing and a total sweetheart! Tiana gave us some killer recommendations and I personally ended up going with the "Hangover Helper" (UH-MAZING hearty goodness) and the Jack Johnson Banana Walnut pancakes (to DIE for! Breakfast dessert plate lol). My advice is to come early to avoid the lines although the reservation system will get you seated fairly quickly as well. We went on MDW and was our first dining experience during COVID, and the squeeze team did a fantastic job of making sure everyone that dined in felt safe and secured. The food was AMAZING, we had the choose your own Benedict's (amazing) and pancakes which were super fluffy and delicious. Food was delicious but the Squeeze team went above and beyond when I left my AirPods in the bathroom and didn't realize it until I got home to LA. Since we were headed through Truckee, I checked it out and in the mix, found Squeeze Inn. Our friends frequent Truckee regularly and had never noticed it. That would be because it is truly a narrow storefront, easily missed. But don't let its narrow footprint fool you, it's well worth locating. We arrived and parked right in front, facing the door. Right at opening time, a couple of the wait staff came out smiling and hollered "We're open!" That set the tone for a great breakfast. They're menu is huge and between the four of us, we managed to order a broad variety of items and each of us really enjoyed our breakfast dishes. Very good food, and great location in Truckee's Main Street. The Squeeze In has your burgers, sandwiches, salads type food, along with breakfast items like waffles, egg plates and pancakes. Whether you're a Truckee local or passing through, Squeeze in has a big menu to choose from. Items ordered: kids grilled cheese with fries(commented as being very good), kids hamburger with fries (she said it had good flavor, but the beef patty was in many pieces and falling apart), grilled chicken breast sandwich with avocado and garlic fries (yum!), chicken patty melt with garlic fries (very good). Along with sodas and iced tea and our pre-mentioned food, the bill was $60 minus tip. The service was good.... However, we heard repeatedly the staff complaining about other patrons and discussing restaurant business. I'd probably return to Squeeze In, it's a good place while in Truckee for the day. read more

This is a fantastic small town breakfast joint in Downtown Truckee! We had a party of 5 and ordered the Twice Baked Scramble, Foo Foo (French Toast), and the best of them all, Jack Johnson Pancakes with over the top Hot Chocolate. They had quite a few of gluten free and vegan options. The service was great. They were attentive and resolved any questions we had! We would definitely come here again and would recommend to anyone coming through or make a quick trip to Truckee for. Only con would be hard to fit a party of more than 6-7. read more

I always struggle here whether I want the Racy Tracy omelette or one of their eggs benedict. I've never had a bad meal at Squeeze In, and the service is always top notch. It's impressive actually, because they're always busy for breakfast. The staff is always super friendly too, like they've known you for years. One of the best things is they have a bucket of toys they hand your kids to play with when you sit down. Like seriously? I actually get to enjoy my food today!
