From the moment we walked in, the staff made us feel like we were old friends, so warm, so welcoming, and genuinely fun to be around. Came out tasting fishy and not fresh. Sent it back after trying two, just to make sure the first one wasn't off. Sent it back and they said they took half off the charge for the crabs. I let them know that was unacceptable and I wanted to remove my entree from being made. They came back and said they took the whole cost off, but it's what should have been done from the beginning. I still didn't get my entree. I completely understand that it could have just been a bad batch, but ingredient issues are the problem of the restaurant and not the customer. Fried pickles were breaded in corn meal. They were crispy and tasty. Son got the spaghetti (linguine noodles) off the kids menu. Said he didn't like it because it had a weird texture. I tried it and the noodles were over cooked. Sent it back to be remade. Came back a little over again. He ended up not eating it. My wife got the triple tail (blackened) from the catch of the day. It came covered in a remoulaude, with green beans and a garlic mashed potatoes. She loved her entire meal. My daughter got the fried shrimp with a side of fries. Fries were perfectly crispy but a little under seasoned. Fried shrimp was crispy and seasoned well. She enjoyed her meal. (Son also approved of the meal as he ate some of hers due to not liking his food.) Slight off smell when you walk in, but it fades quickly. (Could just be a me issue as I am hyper sensitive to smells.) Lights dimmed to give a nice ambiance, but then they sit you in hard metal chairs. Kind of confused as to what they are trying to be. Such a cool spot that feels a bit hidden away from the 30A hustle. We were the first to show up for dinner and seated outside right away. We were greeted by about 4 or 5 different guys dropping us their business cards and they took exceptional care of us. Most of us got the fish of the day which was blackened grouper. Some of the best service and some of the most kind people ever! We made reservations in advance but came in on a slow Saturday. The staff greeted us immediately and any time we met someone new, they dropped off personalized business cards which are so fun! The food came out fast and all of it was amazing! Fried pickles and okra were gluten free for those GF people needing a fried food fix. The place is really cute on the inside and outside. This place never disappoints. Owner greets you at the hostess desk with the most friendly demeanor. From there the wait staff takes over and is amazing at giving friendly and attentive service. Then the food comes out and really is some of the best seafood on 30a. We started with the blue crab claws that I could have eaten as my main dish. But they were also offering triple fin and a blackened grouper that we also ordered. Then, last night Tyler the bartender had made his homemade key lime pies. Yikes, not sure where to start. The owner gave off an odd vibe; boasting about her custom Tesla she picked up in Atlanta fell flat, especially when she parked it right out front. Not exactly the best first impression. I get you worked hard for it, coming from someone who was previously in the industry, but it was a little awkward. Our server Sam was awesome, genuinely attentive and friendly. I really appreciate that they hire young adults and give them a chance to make good money. Unfortunately, the food just didn't live up to the prices. My redfish plate was $45 for what felt like a pretty basic meal of fish, mashed potatoes, and green beans without the creamy creole sauce offered. The oyster special came out on a plate with no ice, which immediately made my stomach turn. My husband, 10 month old baby and I stopped in to Grayton Seafood for my 30th birthday. We didn't have a reservation, but the host Navin was exceedingly accommodating and found us seating quickly. The service throughout our whole meal was exceptional, especially our main server Emma. From the bartender to the other waitstaff to the host, our experience with the service was outstanding. They even offered a few sweet surprises after learning it was my birthday! Just as importantly, the seafood at Grayton was genuinely some of the best I've ever had in the gulf. We got the smoked tuna dip, grouper special and shrimp with grits. Each dish was perfectly prepared and had large portions...my only regret is not snapping a picture for this review because it was beautifully plated as well! What a gem! We stopped in during a family vacation on 30A! We were blown away by the exceptional customer service. The owners were so welcoming and made us feel right at home. Such an amazing place!!! There is a small parking lot next to the place for cars. We came on a Friday evening around 7:45PM with no reservation and we got seated relatively quickly inside! Our waitress was such a delight and she took our drink orders. I got the Grayton beach pale ale and it was pretty decent! For the main, I got the fish of the day grilled which was triple tail that day with fries and onion rings. The fish was grilled to absolute perfection! The fries were piping hot and those were some of the best onion rings I've had in a long time. This meal was absolutely excellent! Our entire table loved everything. We came here to meet some friends for dinner after seeing some great reviews. We made our reservation and got here right as they opened. I know we had a large party, but it took them a LONG time to bring out drinks. They also didn't bring out the children's food until almost an hour after ordering, and the adult's food probably another 10-15 minutes after that. The party was definitely getting restless... The food was a mixed bag. The burgers that were ordered were dry and well done when they were ordered medium, and the people who ordered them were not able to finish them. Thankfully the restaurant comped those meals. The restaurant was busy, but considering we were there at the opening, I figured it would have been better service as it would only get more hectic as time went on. Maybe it was due to the fact we were set off to the side and kinda forgotten about - out of sight, out of mind. My wife got the grilled shrimp, and I got the creole shrimp pasta, and both of our meals were good. I really enjoyed the pasta. Service- have to be one of the nicest restaurant staff I have ever met. Very attentive, Nicky and Jordan never let us go unattended and accommodated me being difficult lol! Came here for dinner with friends. We had a reservation for 10 people for 5pm. I liked the reservation process. I just texted them, they responded, and I was all set. We arrived and the appointed time and sat outside. We ordered our food and the wait began. I am pretty patient and don't mind waiting because I like taking my time but after an hour I was annoyed. We had 3 little ones with us. Finally the kids meals arrived. They each had chicken fingers and fries and although I didn't eat them, the kids seemed to enjoy them and they were plentiful. Grayton Seafood has a special place in my family's hearts. We came here for an impromptu reception following a semi-impromptu beach wedding of my sister and her now husband in September 2020 and now it's a must visit. We come to Grayton at least once a year (sometimes more) and came in April 2023 for a small (you guessed it, impromptu) family reunion. I don't ever finish my plate but I guess when the chefs special is blackened grouper, mashed potatoes and asparagus, it's easy. I cannot fail to mention the crab fingers (steamed and fried) - unfortunately they disappeared before I could snap a photo :) These folks even decorated our space with a happy birthday banner. That is genuine, simple customer care. The owner was at a table nearby and she greeted us and said goodbye to us. We feel like family here and that's what keeps us coming back. read more
