This was a pretty good restaurant. Me and my family came here to eat some local dinner. I got a burger. Me personally, I really enjoyed it and thought is was pretty good. The rest of my family enjoyed their food too. Also, the coke they gave me was huge! The inside was pretty clean, especially for half of it being outside. It had a great ambiance to it. The service was pretty good. Our waitress was pretty nice. The only downside to this place is it took forever. It took 45 minutes for us to get in then another hour for us to get our food. Overall, good restaurant and I recommend it.

The best casual local oyster bar with a wonderful happy hour on 30A! This is evident by the crowds who flock here for happy hour! As you enter the dark, memento filled bar you'll feel like you've entered the oldest establishment in the area where many a story have been told and memories made. You'll be greeted with a warm smile and all of the staff follow with their friendly, welcoming demeanor. In the 3 weeks we visited the 30A area we enjoyed Hurricane's five times. Highlights- happy hour 4-6 with great oyster specials, light bites and great cocktails. Great view and adjacent to a couple of nice art stores. Our favorite foods-Grouper blackened or fried in a basket, sandwich and tacos. Fries-crunchy and hot and the hush puppies--amazing!! Don't miss the pretzels-the best we've ever had. The crab fingers were a hit as well. A lively place with great food, great staff and fun atmosphere done the right way. Worth the wait if you there is a wait list.

Loved the fried blue crab fingers they were beefy. And the critters were awesome! It is hard to find in the middle of off 30A. Excellent service!

Came here for dinner with my family on vacation. Despite having a party of 7 plus a baby, we were able to get a table outside with only a 10 minute wait on weeknight. We sat outside which has a nice beachy/dive bar vibe with a view of a pond. I had the seafood taco trio platter. This came with a fish taco, lobster taco, and a blackened shrimp taco. All were delicious and huge. Also came with a side of fries. My husband had the crab cake po boy which he also loved it. I tried it and thought it was great. My kids had the mini burgers off the kids menu which they seemed to enjoy. Service was great. I would definitely come again.

The food was great. The only thing is the menu choice I wanted was not available so I had to order something different, which was the crabcake plate. Service was somewhat slow as it was very busy in the restaurant seemed to that they didn't have enough staff for the amount of customers they had. We sat outside, which was nice. I would definitely go back again. The corn fritters were some of the best corn. Fritters I've ever had. I would highly recommend ordering some of those.

We went on a Tuesday night and waited about 20 minutes for a table. We were seated outside and, for a 93 degree day, it was quite pleasant with the fans. The food was good. Our table of four all enjoyed our meals. The food came out very quickly and our server was great. We will be repeat customers.

Delicious food and great service - Got the Southern Traditional oysters and the smoke tuna dip. Came out crazy fast, but it wasn't very busy ( 2pm on a Wednesday in late November). Bloody Mary was good and had a lot of garnish. Beers were cold and the vibe was nice. Sat outside on the patio by the water. First time having an Oyster Shooter and they were interesting to say the least. Lots of options on the menu for both food and drinks. Will definitely be back when in town again!

Do you have fried shrimp and oysters that are not spicy?

yes our traditional fried shrimp and oysters are not spicy. Also, if you let your server know upon ordering we can insure that they do not add anything to the fry mix at all…

I really wanted to like this place, but it ended up being a disappointing experience overall…read more The one standout was the gumbo. It had a nice kick to it, was full of flavor, and the $10 cup was a generous portion. My partner and I both ordered a cup, and it was easily the best thing we ate. Unfortunately, everything else went downhill. We split the fried redfish basket, and for what it cost, it felt almost criminal. There wasn't a price listed, so getting the bill was a shock (especially because all the other baskets were $30). The fish itself was decent quality, but the breading was heavy, bland, and overwhelmed the redfish. The curly fries were unique, but they left both of us feeling greasy and weighed down afterward. Service was mixed. The hostesses were friendly and welcoming, and our server was pleasant as well, though it felt like there was a strong push to upsell throughout the meal. In the end, two cups of gumbo, one fried fish basket to share, and our total came to $85 including taxes and tip. Considering the quality of the fried basket, the value just wasn't there. If the fish basket alone was around $50, that price is hard to justify. It felt more like a money grab aimed at visitors than a restaurant focused on earning repeat local customers.

The food was good and the environment was good but I want to write about the best service…read moreexperience I've had ever and it had everything to do with our server, Kyle. It was the last night of our vacation and we wanted seafood and specifically a crab boil. We got seated right away and Kyle came over to introduce himself, he was very kind and personable. We started asking about the appetizers and he recommended the charbroiled oysters which were great. I asked if they were spicy and he said no. Then he came back to take our orders a bit later. I asked if the crab boil was spicy and the others ordered. I ended up ordering the crab boil. When he brought my food over he said, "I hope it is okay but I asked them to put the broth in a separate boil in case you felt it was too spicy. Ive included a large melted butter and lemon instead." I almost cried. I didn't tell him but I have stage 4 cancer and it has created many issues with being able to eat. I hate to be a pest so I just ask if things are spicy and find something else if my server says yes. He had just listened to my questioning and thought something may be happening so he came up with a perfect solution. I never told him I had cancer, just thanked him so much but my family and I were emotional because I haven't had a decent meal out because everything seems spicy in the year I've been fighting this. I want Kyle to know how much it meant and the service was absolutely amazing. Thanks Kyle and to Bayou Bill's for hiring someone as amazing as him.

We have dined…read morethere several times when visiting town and have generally found it to be an average restaurant. On our most recent visit, after a six-hour drive, we decided to order takeout. When we received the bill, it seemed higher than expected. Upon asking for clarification, we were told there was an 8% "packaging fee," which exceeded the local tax. This charge was not itemized as a packaging fee on the receipt--only listed as "8%"--and there was no explanation provided. Since it had been a long day and our order was already prepared, we chose to proceed with the purchase. What concerned us most was that this fee was neither disclosed on the website nor mentioned when we placed our order. We only became aware of it after questioning the total. Greater transparency would have been appreciated. If such charges were clearly communicated in advance, customers could make informed decisions. While we understand that restaurants operate with tight margins, unexpected fees leave a negative impression and ultimately influenced our decision not to return. We have enjoyed the food in the past, but at this price point, we would likely explore other options that we feel offer better overall value.

The food was outstanding across the board--the French toast, eggs, bacon, and of course, those amazing grits. Johnny, our waiter, was clearly busy but still managed to take great care of us. We also learned that each location specializes in something different. This location is known for its cookies, while another nearby spot is famous for its donuts (which we were hoping to find during this visit). Overall, I highly recommend this place for breakfast!
