The staff was great with offering ideas and very attentive. This is one of those no reservations, always busy, summer vacay spots. I thought the pricing was all reasonable compared to other beach spots I've seen. Parking can be a bit difficult when some of the other stores are still open. They were definitely busy but our server was on it. Food and drinks came out quick. We sat outside and the view was great. They had fans blowing, but it was still pretty muggy. I had the fried shrimp basket. The breading was a little bit thicker than what I would normally like, but delicious nonetheless. read more

This was a pretty good restaurant. Me and my family came here to eat some local dinner. I got a burger. Me personally, I really enjoyed it and thought is was pretty good. The rest of my family enjoyed their food too. Also, the coke they gave me was huge! The inside was pretty clean, especially for half of it being outside. It had a great ambiance to it. The service was pretty good. Our waitress was pretty nice. The only downside to this place is it took forever. It took 45 minutes for us to get in then another hour for us to get our food. The best casual local oyster bar with a wonderful happy hour on 30A! This is evident by the crowds who flock here for happy hour! As you enter the dark, memento filled bar you'll feel like you've entered the oldest establishment in the area where many a story have been told and memories made. You'll be greeted with a warm smile and all of the staff follow with their friendly, welcoming demeanor. In the 3 weeks we visited the 30A area we enjoyed Hurricane's five times. Highlights- happy hour 4-6 with great oyster specials, light bites and great cocktails. Great view and adjacent to a couple of nice art stores. Our favorite foods-Grouper blackened or fried in a basket, sandwich and tacos. Fries-crunchy and hot and the hush puppies--amazing!! Don't miss the pretzels-the best we've ever had. The crab fingers were a hit as well. A lively place with great food, great staff and fun atmosphere done the right way. Worth the wait if you there is a wait list. read more

This restaurant has a much different vibe then most places in 30A. It feels very dive bar but in a good way, the outdoor area reminds me of the back porch. The service was very fast and our waiter was super attentive. We tried the Cajun oysters and they were some of the best oysters I have tasted. For our main course we did the shrimp and grits which I thought was also fantastic. It was a mix of Cajun and almost a hint of tomato. Overall I think it's a hidden gem in the 30A area and has been my favorite restaurant this trip! read more

First off i would like to say, this place was very hit or miss on the food. and if i had picked the right food, this could easily be a 5 star. the fried pickles and jalapeños were fantastic, same with the grilled crab oysters. the lobster bisque wasnt very flavorful and was a seafood bland for me. the corn fritters were very sweet and it wasnt bad but i guess i was hoping for more of a hush puppies type flavor. And lastly, the peanut butter chocolate cheesecake was actually very good and i am not a big fan of cheesecake at all. the server wasnt mean or rude, but just felt off in general and almost demanding at some times. the ambiance wasnt the best, very packed and just a lot going on. Came here for dinner with my family on vacation. Despite having a party of 7 plus a baby, we were able to get a table outside with only a 10 minute wait on weeknight. We sat outside which has a nice beachy/dive bar vibe with a view of a pond. I had the seafood taco trio platter. This came with a fish taco, lobster taco, and a blackened shrimp taco. All were delicious and huge. Also came with a side of fries. My husband had the crab cake po boy which he also loved it. I tried it and thought it was great. Service was somewhat slow as it was very busy in the restaurant seemed to that they didn't have enough staff for the amount of customers they had. We sat outside, which was nice. This was mediocre. Our service was okay, not awful, but not great. The environment inside is very dive bar feel. The food was disappointing. Crab cakes were good, filled with crab meat, and fresh caught fish of the day was good. But everything else we wouldn't order again. The crab claws did not taste fresh and we were very disappointed. I love dives and this one has the beach vibe! This time I came to eat! No reservations, it's first come first served. So, after putting our name in we head to the bar. I ordered a Margarita with Ocho Reposado! They make the best margarita in town, it's the Tommy's Margarita! If you know anything about Tequila you know what a Tommy's Margarita is! Table was ready after 2 margaritas.... On to appetizers, Blue Crab Claws, sooo good! And Coconut Shrimp and the Mango Salsa is Awesome! Used some of that later! Then some Coconut Corn Fritters, yummy! On to the soup, Crab & Lobster Bisque, It was good lots of crab and lobster, I would have liked it better if it had a little bit more flavor. On to entrees, I got the special, I believe it was Blackened Trigger fish with 3 shrimp (used the mango salsa on the shrimp) on top of cheese grits, with some crawfish etouffee! Full of flavor that got the taste buds dancing!!! My son got the Bayou Sampler, he said it was amazing! And my wife got the Fish Sandwich she liked. Service was amazing! She even suggested that if we came back the next night ve sure and order a lemon drop from a certain bartender because they do something special even though it's the same recipe it's just better.
