This was a pretty good restaurant. Me and my family came here to eat some local dinner. I got a burger. Me personally, I really enjoyed it and thought is was pretty good. The rest of my family enjoyed their food too. Also, the coke they gave me was huge! The inside was pretty clean, especially for half of it being outside. It had a great ambiance to it. The service was pretty good. Our waitress was pretty nice. The only downside to this place is it took forever. It took 45 minutes for us to get in then another hour for us to get our food. The best casual local oyster bar with a wonderful happy hour on 30A! This is evident by the crowds who flock here for happy hour! As you enter the dark, memento filled bar you'll feel like you've entered the oldest establishment in the area where many a story have been told and memories made. You'll be greeted with a warm smile and all of the staff follow with their friendly, welcoming demeanor. In the 3 weeks we visited the 30A area we enjoyed Hurricane's five times. Highlights- happy hour 4-6 with great oyster specials, light bites and great cocktails. Great view and adjacent to a couple of nice art stores. Our favorite foods-Grouper blackened or fried in a basket, sandwich and tacos. Fries-crunchy and hot and the hush puppies--amazing!! Don't miss the pretzels-the best we've ever had. The crab fingers were a hit as well. A lively place with great food, great staff and fun atmosphere done the right way. Worth the wait if you there is a wait list. read more

I hardly ever write reviews, but this place deserves it. Casual, dive bar feel, with exquisite food. My scallops were cooked perfectly, and the grits with the spinach and artichoke paired so well. With the corn/bacon around the side, it was flavor overload - but in a perfect, tasteful way. Hats off to the chef here! The beer and service was also excellent! read more

Had a great experience! We got the happy hour and there were some pretty insane happy hour deals, enjoyed a mojito and some beer. Highly recommend the Southwest Salad and the Peel n Eat Shrimp! Mae sure you catch the end of happy hour/get there early or you will be on the waiting list for awhile. Service was decent, nothing extraordinary. Cute place, will be back! read more

Came here for dinner with my family on vacation. Despite having a party of 7 plus a baby, we were able to get a table outside with only a 10 minute wait on weeknight. We sat outside which has a nice beachy/dive bar vibe with a view of a pond. I had the seafood taco trio platter. This came with a fish taco, lobster taco, and a blackened shrimp taco. All were delicious and huge. Also came with a side of fries. My husband had the crab cake po boy which he also loved it. I tried it and thought it was great. My kids had the mini burgers off the kids menu which they seemed to enjoy. Service was great. I would definitely come again. read more

The food was great. The only thing is the menu choice I wanted was not available so I had to order something different, which was the crabcake plate. Service was somewhat slow as it was very busy in the restaurant seemed to that they didn't have enough staff for the amount of customers they had. We sat outside, which was nice. I would definitely go back again. The corn fritters were some of the best corn. Fritters I've ever had. I would highly recommend ordering some of those. read more

Delicious food and great service - Got the Southern Traditional oysters and the smoke tuna dip. Came out crazy fast, but it wasn't very busy ( 2pm on a Wednesday in late November). Bloody Mary was good and had a lot of garnish. Beers were cold and the vibe was nice. Sat outside on the patio by the water. We went on a Tuesday night and waited about 20 minutes for a table. We were seated outside and, for a 93 degree day, it was quite pleasant with the fans. The food was good. Our table of four all enjoyed our meals. The food came out very quickly and our server was great. We will be repeat customers. read more

I love dives and this one has the beach vibe! This time I came to eat! No reservations, it's first come first served. So, after putting our name in we head to the bar. I ordered a Margarita with Ocho Reposado! They make the best margarita in town, it's the Tommy's Margarita! If you know anything about Tequila you know what a Tommy's Margarita is! Table was ready after 2 margaritas.... On to appetizers, Blue Crab Claws, sooo good! And Coconut Shrimp and the Mango Salsa is Awesome! Used some of that later! Then some Coconut Corn Fritters, yummy! On to the soup, Crab & Lobster Bisque, It was good lots of crab and lobster, I would have liked it better if it had a little bit more flavor. On to entrees, I got the special, I believe it was Blackened Trigger fish with 3 shrimp (used the mango salsa on the shrimp) on top of cheese grits, with some crawfish etouffee! Full of flavor that got the taste buds dancing!!! My son got the Bayou Sampler, he said it was amazing! And my wife got the Fish Sandwich she liked. Service was amazing! This was mediocre. Our service was okay, not awful, but not great. The environment inside is very dive bar feel. The food was disappointing. Crab cakes were good, filled with crab meat, and fresh caught fish of the day was good. But everything else we wouldn't order again. The crab claws did not taste fresh and we were very disappointed. Despite are less than stellar experience it was spaced and there was a wait the entire time we were there. Definitely lower end food, so maybe just not my thing. read more

We had a nice family dinner on the back patio overlooking the pond. The waitress was on top of her game and did a great job taking care of us. The baked piccata oysters are a must. We also ordered fresh oysters, which were huge! I'd avoid ordering the crab claws as they were very small with very little meat. The crab and lobster bisque was very good. Holy mother of God!!! If you are looking, just stop here. From the outside, you might choose to skip, but you'll kick yourself!! Staff was awesome, the food was great, drinks were killer, and the price was reasonable!!! We did hit happy hour, so spread the drinks and food around for sure. Our absolute favorite food was shrimp and grits. I will put this version up against any in Nola for sure!!. Steak quesadilla was also good tons of meat in it and great price on hh. Drinks were all good, but the damn key like pie martini was the show stopper. It tasted just like you were eating key lime pie. We loved our waitress, Mia (I believe). She was spot on with all recommendations and was super attentive to our table. She even suggested that if we came back the next night ve sure and order a lemon drop from a certain bartender because they do something special even though it's the same recipe it's just better. Came in early in a Sunday for lunch. We sat right down. Great options to choose from. 3 of us had the fish sandwich and one of us had the combo tacos (fish, shrimp and steak). The redfish sandwich was amazing. So fresh, perfectly cooked. We all loved it. Bummer the fries were cold :( The tacos were a hit. This place is great! We came for Happy Hour and were able to have our choice of tables. I appreciate that they have Happy Hour every day of the week and not just Monday through Friday. We definitely enjoyed the deals on drinks and got some yummy appetizers, too. I especially liked the ribeye quesadilla--cheesy, crispy, and easy to share. The drinks were generous. They had run out of the beer that my husband ordered and the server brought him samples of other beers to try--so thoughtful! The service was top-notch. Our server, Amber, was incredibly friendly and helpful. The entire meal flowed really well and despite the fact that they were short-staffed, we never wanted for anything. For the meals we all got a variation of the seafood baskets. I liked that you could swap items out--I got grits instead of fries, and my aunt got the jambalaya. We were both really happy with our substitutions. My husband ordered the fried fish which was mahi-mahi--yum!! I enjoyed my shrimp and had enough for leftovers. The restaurant is casual and friendly. Great find! We waited 40 mins, which was not too bad around dinner time...so happy we waited! There were lots of shops around close by to walk around in the meantime. We had the BEST time at HOBAG! We went for my brother-in-law's birthday and sat at the bar. Derek was our bartender and he was AMAZING!! So nice and loved chatting it up with us. Early spring visit. They have heaters out on the deck overhead so it's not too cool!! Raw oysters and oyster Rockefeller were great. Seat promptly but did visit around 5:00. Many TVs on the walls outdoors and in to watch sporting events. Relaxed and social vibe. Cool pond outside also. Would visit again read more
