Our waitress was busy but gave us outstanding service. It was our first visit to the Boil House and she helped us put together an order that pleased my wife and along with our granddaughter. The unseasoned snow crab was exactly what the granddaughter had been craving and our boil with crab and crawfish was excellent. I can recommend and will return. One side note that might concern some is that the bill for three of us was $200 before the tip. While it seemed expensive, everything has gotten that way and I certainly wasn't disappointed with the meal. read more

Stopped by SR back in late June, while visiting Rockport for a weekend trip. Was glad we caught crawfish still. Great flavor and tasty gumbo. Definitely a good spot if you're craving crawfish while in the area. We were a party of 10 and our waitress was awesome she got all of our orders out and right. Super friendly and awesome staff. It is about 15 mins or so from Rockport Main Street area. I'll keep this place in mind when I'm in Rockport next trip. read more

Service was good and our waitress was sweet, but the food was a bit underwhelming. The spaghetti looked very different from the picture, and for some reason, it didn't have any shrimp, even though it was listed on the menu. I also felt like the plate was missing something, maybe a slice of garlic bread or a small side salad. Just something to go along with a plain bowl of spaghetti. The shrimp boil was okay but it wasn't your typical seafood boil flavor it was very different than any other ones I've tried. Ok... the service is awesome!! Our girl Cassie always takes care of us and she's great!! However.... We've gone 3 times, when they open, afternoon, and evening and NO CRAWFISH!! ALWAYS SOLD OUT!! Don't tell us we go at the wrong time cause we've gone during all times!! The crawfish is not typical Cajun style crawfish. It's some kind of Mexican seasoning and it isn't what we were expecting for crawfish. Some may find that style good, but it's not for us. Beer on tap isn't very cold. We like to sit at the bar and it would be nice if the bartender would at least acknowledge our presence when she walks by. It wasn't that busy, she was making a drink for someone else and then tended to the waiter tickets. She passed by us at least 5 times without one word. Teach your bartenders to say "I'll be right with you" or something to acknowledge our presence. This has happened both times we came here. The first time the young lady was busy talking to other employees that were clearly off work as they were sitting at the end of the bar. Atmosphere is great though. read more

No wait at all! (Went on a Monday night). Tiffany was a phenomenal server! Super friendly, helpful (especially when I spilled my drink), and overall kind. She was even willing to help a couple of Kansans learn how to eat true seafood! Live music was fun - he was a great country guitarist (didn't catch his name sorry). Went on a Monday night and the wait was quoted 1/2 hour. There was a large TV outside to keep people waiting occupied. The food takes a while so tables were not turning very quick. The bartender was very busy and working hard. Waitstaff was busy as well. Seemed like a popular local place. Management socialized and seemed unhelpful. Water glasses had some kind of crud in the bottom. Food and flavors were good. Gumbo was really good with decent spice and flavor. The snow crab was the most popular boil item followed by the shrimp. Coming in from Victoria I was super stoked to get good seafood... looking back at this decision I didnt foreshadow the disappointment I would receive. My group of people and I have waited a considerable two hours for mediocre food. I have never been so disappointed in my entire life. If the restaurant closed at midnight why are they not stocking up on crawfish, knowing thats all consumers are going to order. Do better. Again we tried to get a table for six and were turned away. I tried to ask for options like sitting at the bar, the guy said no, I asked about sitting outside, he said we don't have service outside. As we were leaving a party of 4 were put on the list, so I asked the guy why did he accept them and he said we can accommodate small groups. There were people outside who had been waiting 40 minutes. We were first time visiting this restaurant because we wanted to try someplace new; we normally go to the Boiling Pot. We're from out of town and we love seafood boils. Unfortunately we were disappointed. We ordered a seafood boil, appetizers (clams in a butter sauce, fried boudin, gumbo/rice), and cocktails. The only thing that was decent were the fried boudin balls. The seafood boil had no flavor and "butter sauce" they give you on the side was something other than that. The gumbo/rice had a good flavor but the roux was too watery and had "mini" shrimp in it. The small clams were swimming in a red oil and most of the clam shells were empty. The cocktails were watered down with ice. Our waitress was nice but never told us her name. The menus had mold; please get new ones. With that being said, we will be going back to the Boiling Pot instead. read more

The seafood is fresh and delicious! The staff is friendly and always there to refill your drink. The place is eclectic with interesting decor. It's very clean and neat. The boil is messy but they hand out plenty of napkins! I highly recommend this place if you like seafood! read more

Update. I called and spoke to a young lady who said she was the manager, Madi. I explained the situation and how the crawfish were inedible. She asked if I could provide photos of the crawfish in the trashcan. I explained we were in a hotel and as such they were thrown away in the hotel dumpster as to not smell up the room, but I could provide the before pics. She said she had speak to the kitchen staff and call me back. When she called back she basically accused me of lying - that bc I couldn't provide proof the food was actually in the trashcan they would not refund. Talk about rubbing salt in the wound!! Why would she, as the supposed manager, need to speak to the kitchen help?! The absolute WORST experience we've had thus far in Rockport!! Tonight we ordered at Paradise Key and 10/10!!! We were really hoping for a great boil house in Rockport, but they missed the mark... Horrible hostess. We arrived at 5:15 hoping to get a jump on the dinner crowd. There was no line and the restaurant was half empty but we were quoted a 45 min - 1 hour wait. We took a seat at the bar next door to wait (spent $35 on 2 drinks ) and at 45 mins the hostess called to let us know it would be another 2 hours! Umm no, completely unacceptable. This restaurant has been located in downtown Rockport for years. Its reputation is great. They have relocated to Business 35 in the Cove Harbor Marina. I never ate at the SR Boil House when it was downtown. I did eat lunch there today 06/15/2024. The service was top notch. The ambiance of the restaurant is derived from the marina views. The decor is functional, not plush, well used and not clean. I arrived at opening and there was stuff on the floor. Which indicates no sweeping. Even with this, I was so looking forward to the meal. I ordered Shrimp Ceviche and chips. The taste was OK. I did not send it back. That said, there was nothing to rave about. It tasted similar to what one would expect from a grocery store. I ordered the fried shrimp basket. The shrimp was prepared as expected. The fries were very good. The resturant is VERY EXPENSIVE. I am beside myself as to why people rave about this place. SR Boil House has a turtle tank in filthy, cruel conditions--dirty water, no dry land for the turtles, a dead crawfish floating in the tank, and way too many turtles crammed into a tiny space. My cousin claimed it was the best crawfish he's ever had and it definitely lived up to the hype. We went on a Sunday afternoon around 230 and it was perfect, no wait , sat down right away and let the feast begin. We ordered some drinks and 9lbs of fresh crawfish. We also got a cucumber salad which was pretty damn good to. The crawfish came out hot fresh and coated with their amazing butter sauce and spices. We asked for some of the spice rub on the side too and definitely worth it. The are so tender and spicy you'll love it. The prices are fair and the restaurant was clean. All the staff were friendly and the service was good. If you are visiting The corpus Christi area or any where close to Rockport you need to check this place out. read more

Over-Priced-$35.00 plus $6.00 for mushrooms and broccoli. No broccoli, just mushrooms arrived. Not sure if the shrimp is gulf shrimp. The shrimp is the easy-peel version which means it's probably a farm-raised, overseas version. Please people, we are on the gulf coast. Why would we ever want shrimp that has been farm raised (Google farm raised shrimp...it'll turn your stomach) and from either Ecuador, Indonesia or Vietnam. Eat local. Please! I'm NOT a hater of other countries...so that is not the issue. We have beautiful shrimp in our own "backyard". Please let's push local restaurants and grocery stores to sell it. The spice in the boil is overly chili powdered but no other spices are evident. The sausage is low quality. One new potato cut in half in entire boil. .....remember I'm being charged $35.00. My husband ordered spaghetti and meatballs....it was really bad. However, that's on him for ordering Italian in a seafood restaurant. Still, how can you not make a decent spaghetti and meatball dish???? His dish came to him 10 minutes before mine. It was just the two of us. The kitchen and waitress could figure out how to course out two orders at the same time. We asked for crushed red pepper for the spaghetti. We were told they didn't have it. Not sure what they use for the boils. Then we were told by waitress, "I just work here". We ate half or less of our meal and left. We didn't say a word about the lackluster meal and service. We just won't be back. Restaurateurs....be aware, it's not the customer that complains that should be your worry. It's the one that doesn't even think it's worth it to complain and never returns. You never get a chance to make it better. Still, I hope this place gets a "Restaurant Rescue" and turns around. There is no way anyone would pay those prices with the lackluster quality and service.
