Good food, fast service and very friendly and I will be back every time I visit Pensacola

We were out and wanted something different for dinner. Haven't had authentic food from india in awhile. They usually import the spices which makes the food taste so good when seasoned with the spices , they leave a good taste in your mouth. I was hoping for that experience for my Mom. She has never had Indian food I wanted her to try it & enjoy something different. They didn't have garlic nann. They had no nann! The woman could not speak English so her son told us they only have pita bread. No nann??? I did think it was odd I didn't see it on the menu. We should have left but we stayed. Well the last time we had buttered chicken it was red at a different restaurant. This was not like we have had, so different. My mom made the comment that they give you a lot of rice but that was it. I wanted to have her try all the flavors I have had & enjoyed at other India restaurants. The chicken chunks were tender which was a good thing. They do give a complimentary bottle of water, no cups , no ice just the bottle. You eat with plastic spoons and forks. Sad to have had my Mom say she did not enjoy it. Maybe she will give a chance somewhere else someday. For being almost $18 each it was definitely not worth that kind of money. I'd expect a real silverware to use instead of plastic wear that sits out on the table that other people can touch! We can not recommend this place and it's very highly unlikely that we would eat here again. read more

We drove 50 minutes to Pensacola to have dinner at Sree's Kitchen, and unfortunately the experience was disappointing. We ordered dahi puri (too sweet), masala dosa, poori masala, vada sambar, onion dosa, and paneer biryani. The peanut chutney and sambar that came with the dosas and vada were not good, and there was no coconut chutney at all--which is typically a standard accompaniment for South Indian dishes. The aloo masala in the poori combo was completely off. Instead of the usual yellow potato masala with small chunks, it was a brown, overly spiced curry. The masala inside the masala dosa was also very different from what you would expect at a South Indian restaurant. Service was equally disappointing. The vada, which was supposed to be a starter, was brought out at the very end of the meal. On top of that, each person's dish came out one at a time instead of together. This was especially frustrating considering the restaurant only had us and one other group dining--it wasn't busy. The paneer biryani was just okay, and the onion dosa was not good. Overall, the restaurant has a lot to improve, both in terms of service and in getting basic South Indian dishes right. read more

This is my first time trying Dosa and it was delicious. Sree's Kitchen specialize in it. Dosa is front and center in their menu. There are several selections of Dosas with different types of filling. They do offer other Indian food cuisine. We also ordered Chicken Biryani. That was also delicious. But ordering Dosa was enough for one person. Be warned though, their food had some heat to it. So, if u don't like to too spicy, you may want to let your server know. They provide a no frills but pleasant service, but the food speaks for themselves. The dining and restroom is clean. This is the first Indian restaurant that specialize in something and that something is their Dosa. read more

We tried this restaurant for the first time for lunch. We were seated right away. The inside is nice and clean. We tried their Pani puri, mysore masala dosa and Keema dosa along with their lemon drink. Everything tasted great. Food arrived quickly but it was fresh. I really liked their mysore masala dosa the most. Their sambar was delicious and the quantity was perfect too. Next time I will try their thali's. They look good. Prices were reasonable. Stopped by here for take out and was greeted by warm, cozy atmosphere. We ordered 3 different dishes: paneer schezwan, mysore, and uttapam. Sambar was delicious and thick. Will say it is extremely flavorful and may be little spicy for those not used to Indian food. Both types of chutney were yummy too. Average price of dosas were $15-17. Ample parking out front in a strip mall type location. Service was friendly and quick. read more

What a delightful surprise! I frequented the Indian restaurant that was here several years ago and when I walked into Sree's Kitchen, I expected similar cuisine. And instead, was greeted with sumptuous southern Indian food that is out of this world. From Mysor Dosa to Idli, the menu is loaded with amazing dishes. It will take me a few months to try it all. What a great find here in Pensacola. I've been craving some authentic Indian cuisine and was wowed by Sree's Kitchen. I had the vegetable samosas and the Aloo Masala with bread/rice on the side. I only remembered to take a snap a photo of the entree but both were fantastic. The service was great and everyone was super friendly. Great ambiance as well, I thought it was homey, clean and had some cool wall art. I will certainly be back to try the Dosas and other specialties. read more

Delicious and authentic south indian food. I have been craving dosa and idly and they delivered. We went on a Sunday afternoon and it was not busy. We got the idly, dosa stuffed with curry potatoes, chicken 65, and non-veg thali. The dosa was crispy and sour just the way it should be. Peanut chutney was spot on. The thali had chicken chettinaad, butter chicken, curry goat, sambar, poori and glubjam. So delicious. Beautiful restaurant with colorful fun decorations and Indian music videos playing. Here you will find unique "south" Indian food, not typical for American Indian food. You seat yourself and order from the cashier, don't wait to be seated. The dosas are very large and good, think big crepe with spices. There are a few stark downsides to this place. First, they are not transparent with pricing, the menus don't have prices, nor do any signs except for their daily specials - which leaves you completely guessing, only to find out when you pay. 2nd, the tables are dirty, they don't wipe them off after people eat, there is old dry food caked on the table. 3rd, when using the bathroom, I saw a live cockroach, could be a one off, but still does not bode well for a restaurant. 3 stars still warranted for unique and great taste, however, I do not plan on returning. read more

Walked in for the first time as a visitor to Pensacola. I eat gluten free and cannot tolerate chili peppers. The host was very calm and patient with my questions. She answered everything and when not sure she asked the cook. We ended up ordering the chicken curry non spicy, the dosa was delicious and the curry was home made style. My husband loved the chicken biriyani as the flavors were soaked into the chicken. He said the spice was perfect with the rice. The Vada was good too. Laid back seating, it looked all updated and new. The customer service was top notch and very friendly. We spoke to the cook very sweet lady. Delicious food and great customer service. I can't begin to explain the flavor and the love out behind every dish . I will heavily warn you though that it is addicting and probably the best food in area . I come at least once a week . For the past 6 months at this point . They are always very friendly and attentive and place is usually really clean . read more

Food was cool , not what I expected to be honest the butter chicken sauce was kinda runny not the thick sauce I'm used to and they served naan , they have pita bread but honestly it wasn't the same . And balsamic rice is not used here nor do it come with your order when your order chicken korma or butter chicken kinda odd for sure . read more

Very good food. FYI no prices are on the menu so Dosa is $15 each roughly, Biryiani is $16. All of the dosas have a spiciness to it. Some may be more "mild" but if your children are not familiar with it, the safest bet is to stick with things like mango lassi and Nutella dosa. Oh and since I was very unfamiliar, a dosa is HUGE. I would say at least 18 inches long (maybe almost 24 inches). In the picture they look "burrito" size. I read about this restaurant when it opened, and I was curious to go there. I have enjoyed North Indian cuisine for years, but I have never been to a restaurant that served homestyle foods from South India. My friend and I were greeted when we came in, and the proprietor was friendly and very helpful in choosing dishes for us to try. We each ordered dosas, a crisp pancake filled with a savory filling, and ordered puris to share. The food was delicious - beautifully spiced and not too hot. Portions were huge and affordable priced. The atmosphere is casual and homey - you order at the counter and your food is brought to you. This new place definitely deserves a try. You will not find more authentic southern Indian food than at Shree's kitchen! I had a dosa grilled in ghee, and it was excellent! The service was incredible!
