I had a car malfunction on the freeway. I was far from my house and was worried after calling several auto shops that nobody would take a look at my car in on such short notice. But then I called SS Auto Repair. They immediately answered my call and said they had space to take a look. I was so grateful! They were very welcoming, kind and trustworthy. Because they were busy and thought it might take a couple days to repair the issue like the other auto shops had said but they checked my car right away when I got there and were able to tell me what was wrong with it and that they could have it ready and fixed by the very next day! They also had a nice air conditioned sitting room to rest in while I waited for the diagnosis. When I picked my car up the next day they made sure to show me the part they had replaced and from what I could tell the price was pretty good though I am certainly no car mechanic. Brought my daughters 1999 Ford Escort to get fixed. Let me just say right up front a lot of auto body shops will give the BS and say they have to do this and then add in a bunch of items that don't make sense and give you the run around. James was very professional and HONEST!!! You don't see that anymore. He was very transparent every step of the way. I've gone to the same guy for many years, best well known for being the top MR2 specialist. After many years of frustration with 'Mr Specialist' and his bogus on the spot random pricing and turn times, it was time I started looking for an actual shop that will work on my car with care and fair pricing. Found SS AUTO on the MR2 forums (MR2 OC and MR2 Boards), wanted a simple diagnostic of whats going on with my 91 MR2 so that I can pass a smog test. I recieved a very well diagnostic rate and they even got my MR2 to pass smog. I've been wanting to do many projects on my MR2 and this will be the shop I go to. Customer service is excellent especially James, the person is curtious and greets you right away. The shop is organized' unlike 'Mr Specialist'. I am excited to start a new relationship venture with these guys and have them work on my MR2 and will be bringing my girlfriend's car here as well. I have 06 Chevy Equinox that all of a sudden died while driving. I got it towed to SS Auto Repair. They even offered to stay open late until the tow truck arrived. They have a tv to watch while you wait and it's nice and clean in the waiting area. My vehicle dying on me abruptly while driving home was very stressful. James, one of the owners put me at ease and assured me they will get my vehicle running. The next day, I was notified I had a bad fuel pump that caused the breakdown. They offered a cheap replacement or a name brand quality part. We went with the quality part on their recommendation, even though it was more expensive. The work was done very quickly and they didn't try to push any unnecessary work that wasn't needed. The staff was very friendly and I didn't feel pressured into anything I didn't need. The work is covered with a year warranty on new parts. If they are used parts obviously they won't be covered. I would recommend them to anyone that needs an honest mechanic read more

My starter went out on my Honda accord last month and SS Auto Repair was able to get me in and out of the shop within a few hours. Little James was the mechanic that worked o my car. When my car was done, he gave me a few heads-up of things that I should pay attention to, but nothing that I couldn't handle on my own. What they quoted me in the beginning was what I ended up paying. They will make the necessary maintenance on your car, only if you need it. None of that fix and tell you later business here. These guys really look out for your car's and wallet's best interest. Thank you! Didn't get a chance to do a review for the first time I came here, which was for a transmission rebuild for my Honda CR-V. What sold me was the fact that they beat every price I was quoted for by other shops. They did it in a timely manner and was very helpful in answering any question or concerns I had. Just had my lower ball joints(both sides) replaced today on my other car. Now I feel better knowing that I don't have to worry driving my car every day to work and back. TERESA A AND MANUEL S We know vehicles, we own a trucking business, but there are things that we don't fix and that's my 1997 Ford F350 P/U. I pull a large horse trailer with it and I can not have any problems on the road. So I called a friend (Don at Pro-Built Transmission) and asked him for an honest mechanic, because I needed repair on my P/U. He gave me Geraldo's name at SS Auto Repair and we have now met 2 honest mechanics, Don and Geraldo. Geraldo quoted $300, but what we thought was wrong wasn't and the job came in at $117 it was something else all together. This is an honest person and a clean cut on time business (even ahead of time). I was so happy to find an honest business it made my day awesome. We have a few more things to be fixed and have made an appointment to come in Monday with the other P/U.
