Continuing my cafe hopping journey! Parking: They have a small parking lot. Finding an open spot can be easy. Ambiance/Environment: They have a small indoor space with a decent amount of indoor seating and minimal decor. It's more so a social coffee shop rather than a studious coffee shop. The reason why I say that is bc you can't really get much done on small, short tables and hardwood seats. I enjoy the music; definitely a coffee shop ran by woman (iykyk). Service: I wasn't greeted when I entered. The worker just looked at me. She was nice though, and I think she was still training. Both workers are knowledgeable about the menu offerings. Throughput was quick after ordering. Drinks & pastries: I tried their most popular drink - Lotus Cream Top. This is a latte with Biscoff butter topped with a cream foam and Biscoff cookie. I looove anything cookie butter. I really enjoyed this drink! The Biscoff flavor was not shy. The foam was thick, but it didn't have much flavor. I heard great things about their cookies, so I'll have to come back to try them! Pricing: Prices are a bit more than average. I'd visit once in a while. They offer rewards through Cash App.
This place was so cute and aesthetic inside! The coffee and matcha was extremely good as well. I ordered the cookie butter latte and my roommate ordered the seasonal matcha corn latte. The lotus latte was amazing and the sweet corn matcha was good as well, but we thought it lacked on the corn part of it and tasted like a regular matcha. The service was extremely fast and the staff were so friendly as well. They let me bring my doggo in which is always a plus we'll be back
Finally stopped by Ssum Coffee after seeing it all over my feed, and it actually lived up to the hype. The shop is on the smaller side, but that's part of the charm. Clean, cozy, and minimalist without feeling overly trendy. The staff were friendly and patient when explaining the menu, which I appreciated since there are quite a few unique drinks to choose from. Reviews from other visitors also frequently mention the welcoming service and cozy atmosphere. I tried the Strawberry Matcha, and it was easily my favorite. The matcha flavor was strong enough to come through, while the strawberry added just the right amount of sweetness without tasting artificial. The Yuzu Sparkling Ade was refreshing and perfect for a warm day. Both drinks seem to be customer favorites for a reason. What I liked most is that the drinks didn't taste overly sweet like a lot of aesthetic cafés. Everything felt balanced and made with care. The pastries looked great too, although some popular items tend to sell out early. Is it a place I'd drive an hour for? Probably not. But if you're in Anaheim or nearby, it's definitely worth stopping by. Good drinks, relaxing vibes, and a nice alternative to the usual chain coffee spots. Rating: 8.8/10 Would come back for the Strawberry Matcha and to try more of their specialty drinks.
This is a charming little Korean-style cafe with a cozy, modern aesthetic and a relaxing atmosphere. It reminded me a bit of Harucake in LA. I've visited a couple of times now and have really enjoyed both the drinks and pastries. The cafe can get busy during peak hours and on weekends, but when I stopped by on a weekday afternoon it was much quieter. It's a nice place to catch up with family and friends or simply unwind for a bit. The menu is straightforward, with the full menu displayed near the counter. I first tried the Strawberry Matcha with oat milk. Although I personally thought the strawberry overpowered the matcha slightly, it was still yummy and refreshing. On my next visit, I ordered the Peach Matcha Latte with oat milk, one of their summer seasonal drinks. I loved it! The peach added a subtle sweetness without overpowering the matcha, making for a unique and refreshing combination. My sister loved the Yuzu Espresso Tonic. They also offer a variety of non-coffee and non-matcha drinks. My mom really enjoyed the iced Jeju Citrus Chamomile Tea, which was light and refreshing -- perfect for a hot day. We also shared the pistachio cookie, chocolate butter bar, and pistachio banana bread. Everything was delicious and not overly sweet. Service was friendly, patient, and helpful in explaining the menu. They also offer free Wi-Fi -- just scan the QR code near the pastry display. Prices felt reasonable compared with many specialty cafes. Parking can get a bit crowded near the front, but there are additional spaces toward the back. I will definitely come back to try more of their drinks and pastries!
I have always wanted to check out Ssum Coffee, so I decided to take my friends (who drove down from SGV area) to try Ssum together! First off, the dog logo is sooooooo cutteee!! Ssum Coffee is a super cute coffee shop located in Anaheim with adorable decors and social atmosphere. They have the cutest decors like mirrors, trinkets, and posters. There are seatings, but can busy at times! People were socializing while others were studying/working. Their menu is pretty straightforward and offer coffee base and matcha base drinks. My friends got strawberry matcha lattes, while I got the corn double matcha. I will have to say that the matcha is STRONGGGG!! You can tell they use good quality matcha. I couldn't taste much of the corn puree in my drink, but it was still good! My friends' strawberry matcha though!!! That was so good!! I love their strawberry puree that they use!! 100% would comeback again for their strawberry matcha!!
Ssum Coffee was a cute little place that we had noticed on Yelp! We decided to stop by because it was fairly new with a few reviews. The parking here was quite cramped. There's sports to park to the left side of the building, but parking in front is harder without an exit or entrance, too. Upon entering, we noticed the cute, whimsical decor of the shop! They had seating with a tree right in the middle. The menu was posted towards the left side and near the cashier. I had waltzed in, knowing what I wanted to order thanks to other Yelp reviews. I ordered the Lotus Cream Top Latte. It was perfectly creamy, strong, and had a cookie on top. My fiancé ordered the Yuzu Bianco and he enjoyed the taste; it was refreshing. My brother ordered one of the Valentine's Drinks with a peach top and peach brew. He also really enjoyed his drinks. The employees here were friendly and willing to explain what their drinks were. They were quick to make them and it was delicious as well. For a new cafe, I think it was very well run and decorated. They have a variety of drinks and offerings. They also had different cookies and pastries. If you're in the area, I'd recommend making a stop here to try it out!

A great quality for $6 which is rare these days! The yuzu bianca was indulgent and yummy as well but I would get less yuzu extract in there next time as it got too overpowering and sweet
Ssum is a cute little cafe tucked in an unassuming plaza~ I went late March and they still had Valentine's seasonal drinks up which was nice because that's were the drinks I wanted to try. I got a Love Brew which is a peach cold brew with a peach cream top. The peach flavor was really strong. The cold brew itself wasn't acidic and didn't have a strong taste. So I thought the cold brew itself wouldn't be strong, but that's where my taste buds fooled me. The cold brew itself gave me such a productive day ahaha. The staff was super kind and gave me space while I was thinking of what to order. My drink came out in a timely manner. I wouldn't recommend working/studying here because it is small. I feel like you could totally make it work though if you don't mind a squeeze.
Maybe I should have ordered the corn latte or the spicy latte... I had this place bookmarked. Decided to drop by before heading to Garden Grove. We got the lotus cream top and strawberry matcha lattes. I didn't enjoy my lotus cream top. It was a bit too creamy. The espresso was there, but not much flavor. It tasted like a reg coffee with cream top. No lotus flavor. The biscoff cookie didnt do much either. After consuming half, I ended up tossing the drink. It wasn't bad. Just not up to my liking. The others didn't like the strawberry matcha lattes. They thought it was a bit watery. The taste couldn't compare to other places that offered the same drink. Didn't get to try the cookies. It looked good tho. Small lot. Could get pretty busy Service was alright
Needed a coffee pick me up that was local and found myself here. I wanted to try something new so the nice staff helped recommend me a drink, which was the lotus cream top. He did forewarn me and say that it was sweet and I did end up getting it, and it was in fact...quite sweet. I'm glad I tried it and it was good, but can't wait to try other items! It's in an unassuming plaza but it was poppin' on a rainy weekday afternoon. Got the dubai chewy choco too! Chill vibes, cute interior, and diverse menu items.
Ssum Coffee is a great locally owned shop for your next matcha run! This spot is located in a plaza with a decent amount of parking spots. Inside, they have a nice interior with a solid amount of seating. Wifey and I got the Strawberry Matcha and Yuzu Matcha Tonic and we enjoyed our drinks. All of the staff here are super friendly and welcoming. Shop local and support API-owned businesses! read more
The cafe itself has cute interior and a logo/branding that reminded me of harucake. Workers were friendly and there were a couple regulars that dropped by for a quick grab when I was waiting to order. Matcha Latte was okay a bit sweet even with half sweet. Matcha flavor was also a little jade-y but not bad. Wooden chairs and little stools to do some works with laptops too. Their signature menus were coffee menus, so want to try the coffee next time! read more
POV you're driving near the Anaheim target and you're drawn towards a calm little coffee shop in the neighborhood. First thing you see is the pastry display, minimalist menu, and wooden benches and tables. You're greeted right away and your order is in. Immediately you receive your tasty warmed up banana bread and shortly your iced Bianca latte and iced Hojicha drinks are ready. Banana bread is fresh and moist , the yuzu citrus flavor pairs well with the creamy latte, and it's strong. It's served beautifully layered, unsure about your adventurous choice, you stir it with the straw for flavor maxxing success. You walk out energized ready for a beautiful day ahead. read more

Yummy latte! The matcha had a nice earthy taste. The strawberry matcha was delicious as well. Definitely something to get if you want a sweeter matcha latte. I also got an Ube cookie and it was nice and moist. I loved how it was not dry. Overall nice place to sit down and enjoy a latte! read more

Ssum is a cute little coffee shop tucked in a small plaza. Plenty of parking both in the front and back. The space itself is small but really cozy, with plenty of seating. I even came with my friends and her dog, this place is dog-friendly! The staff here are amazing. She took the time to explain the menu to us, which was super helpful. We ended up trying: - Strawberry, Dubai Chocolate Cookie - Strawberry Matcha - Yuzu Bianca - Yuzu Tonic - Sweet Corn Cream Top - Love Brew (Peach Cream Top + Cold Brew) I absolutely love their sweetness level, not too sweet and perfectly balanced. My favorites were their special menu : Love Brew, the peach cream top with cold brew, and Yuzu Bianca. So refreshing! Their cookies are super soft, delicious, and also not too sweet. The Strawberry cookie was a bit on the artificial side for me, but my friends loved it. The Dubai Chocolate Cookie was perfect in crispy & soft texture. Cute little cafe hidden in this plaza. I got the corn latte and my initaly sip was that it was too sweet however after giving it a good swirl the taste was well balanced. The interior was very cute and a few tables for people to sit. I also got to try the pretzel breakfast sandwhich which had a good twist! The other pastries also looked quite delicious! read more
Cute spot! Good drinks! However, they fill the whole cup with ice so you're not getting that much liquid which I don't love. Strawberry Matcha: Matcha was good quality, strawberry milk was a bit syrupy New Orleans: Cold brew was great Iced Vanilla Latte: Latte was great but vanilla flavor was not strong Service: Nice staff! I will say $1 for alternate milk seems high given the base price + the amount of milk. Would go back but would ask for way less ice. read more

Needed a place to get some remote done and saw that this was a new place in the area! PARKING: No issues with parking on a Sunday afternoon WHAT I ORDERED: Yuzu bianca THE DRINK: Right off the bat, this drink looked gorgeous with the layers of espresso and cream and the dried citrus slice! Think einspanner latte with a jammy yuzu flavor. The yuzu worked perfectly with the rest of the drink and was the perfect amount of sweetness, not too overpowering. The espresso was good too. Cream was perfectly sweetened, though my only critique was that it was kind of a lot of cream compared to the rest of the drink. SERVICE: Staff were very sweet and explained to me the different drinks VIBES: Good for working/studying! Here's my work-from-coffee-shop checklist: * OUTLETS: Yes! A few outlets on the tables next to the wall * WIFI/INTERNET: Yes, pretty good speed * BATHROOMS: Yes, clean. But was a little awkward having to go to the back by the kitchen to use it * VOLUME: Music was not too loud * SEATING AVAILABILITY: On a Sunday afternoon lots of people were going in and out but seats were available * LAPTOP FRIENDLINESS: No restrictions that I saw BOTTOM LINE: May have to be a new go-to! Review 28/365 Day Challenge Came here with my friend Pow after a 4 mile hike at Peter's Canyon in Orange. It' is near her house and she's been coming here with her daughter. She recommended the Lotus cream top. Their signature drink. What We ordered ~ Lotus Cream Top signature drink $ 6.95 asked for 75% sweetness since reading reviews it's on a sweeter side drink. Definitely recommended indeed. The coffee itself is good and flavorful, it's a version of a biscoff latte. Topped w a yummy cream top and a biscoff cookie. ~ Dubai Chocolate Mochi cookie $ 6 is good and tastes like a Dubai chocolate like it's suppose to be. The center was crispy yummy. Mochi was chewy and good. ~ Strawberry Dubai Chocolate Mochi cookie $ 6 is as yummy as the regular Dubai chocolate but with a strawberry white chocolate center, more on the sweet side. Service was fast & associate was friendly. Manager Subinh was really nice. While enjoying my drink w my friend and getting ready to leave. She asked if i needed a drink carrier for my drink & cookies. Cute simple coffee shop w only interior seatings. Center of shop has a nice tree surrounded by benches. A cute Korean hole-in-the-wall cafe in a tiny and unassuming strip. The wood elements make the interior feel warm and inviting, even on a rainy day. The left banquette area has a few outlets and small tables, while the center has a larger, rounded seating / waiting area around a planter. We were greeted right away by the cashier. MATCHA EINSPÄNNER: 3/5. Rich and creamy. While yummy and decadent, the matcha flavor did not come through as strong as I would have liked. read more
This place is so cute! As soon as i walked in i could sense a chill atmosphere. They have some nice r&b korean music playing on a speaker! The music and layout of the furniture sets a great tone. I got one of their sig drinks which is pretty much a cookie butter latte & i also tried their strawberry matcha. Both drinks were so delicious! The flavors were so good. I enjoyed the customer service here too. I felt really acknowledged even when leaving, those small moments make a difference! I will def be coming back again. read more

This cute little coffee spot in OC is definitely a hidden gem. They're still pretty new, and I was hoping to try their Dubai Mocha drink, but sadly they were out of it. Instead, I ordered the Sweet Corn Top, which was nice and sweet. I also got the Dubai chocolate cookie~ definitely a must-try. The space is pretty small, but cozy. Parking is a bit limited since it's shared with other businesses like a nail salon, a food-to-go spot, and a coin laundry (if I'm not mistaken). Would I come back? Definitely! read more

I'm not sure if I first saw SSUM while scrolling through IG reels or directly on Yelp but that doesn't matter. With all these coffee shops opening up everywhere, the bars are set very high. Sure, you need unique signature drinks but you also need to perfect the most simple drinks including matcha lattes and for example, an Americano. Here's what I ordered: **Lotus Cream Top: I opted to get oat milk and ordered the drink half sweet after reading several other reviews stating that the drink is on the sweeter side. When I order a signature latte, I like to taste the bold espresso flavor but this drink didn't deliver that. I enjoy a creamy drink but the espresso portion was very subtle and was way too creamy all the way through. The cream top was on the thinner side but the flavor was good. I loved the addition to the crispy biscoff cookie on top. I've had subpar experiences in the past with soggy biscoff cookie toppers but kudos for them for not doing the same. However, there were little bits of biscoff cookie crumbles on the bottom of the drink which led to a soggy aftermath. I wish I had tasted a bolder espresso flavor but this reminded me more of a dessert-like beverage. (2/5) **Iced Americano: This was a solid Americano with a bold flavor. Not too bitter and not too sour, but just right. (5/5) Came here on a weekday after work around 7:20 AM or so and there were three people waiting for drinks. As soon as I ordered and went to sit down, there was a line of 5+ people out the door. Seemed to be a busy spot already but the two baristas working at the time were pumping out drinks at a pretty good pace. I noticed that almost everyone was ordering their Lotus Cream Top but I was very disappointed with their most popular signature drink. Like I said before, I don't mind the creaminess, but the espresso flavor was almost non-existent. I'm happy that they delivered a solid Americano, which was the highlight of my visit. First time visiting today. There were a few employees and they were able to get drink orders out quickly. The matcha was good and dark. This is appreciated! They had oat milk and almond milk. Great vegan option. You do pay extra. They had a full baked goods case. My husband who is not vegan got the butter bar. He enjoyed it but it was burnt on the bottom. They did not have vegan baked goods. They had valentines specials but they had a heavy cream topping which was not able to make vegan. It was a cute shop with varied seating and it was calm. It was not set up to stay for a long visit and it can crowd easily when the queue forms. It was about $20 for two drinks and butter bar We might come back read more
So glad I found this place! After lunch when I need a little treat, I like to find a coffee/tea place to try and stopped into Ssum since I have driven past here a few times. The parking lot looks small from the front but there is more parking at the side and behind the building. Inside is a small coffee shop with natural wood seating and a cute round "planter' seating area around a small tree. It looks like a nice place to hang with a friend, take a date, work on your laptop, or just relax. I didn't have much staff interaction but service was friendly. I ordered the matcha einspanner and it was incredible! The cream top is thick and perfectly sweetened, which balances the slight bitterness that matcha has. It was delicious! Definitely will be a repeat for me. I forgot to ask if they have decaf espresso, but if they do, that will mean there is no limit to drinks I can enjoy! There is a little pastry case with cookies and things by the register but I didn't get anything...this time. Maybe next time I will! And there will certainly be a next time. read more
Absolutely adore this coffee shop! It's located in the same plaza as the teriyaki grill place and nail shop. The interior is very modern & cute, and staff is very welcoming. I tried the Lotus Cream Top and Strawberry Milk, and I love them both! The cream in the Lotus Cream Top was so fluffy and delicious. I also got their plain croissant, dubai mochi, and the choco butter bar. The texture of the dubai mochi is so fun and interesting. And the choco butter bar is surprisingly not sweet and has the texture of a pie crust. The croissant is baked in-house! They don't have decaf but they have non-caffeinated options like yuzu sparkling ade, strawberry milk, and chocolate milk. Can't wait to come back! read more

We were curious to try this new cafe. Ordered a cookie, flat white (with the light/medium roast beans) and iced americano (with the dark roast beans). The flat white was decent! Cookie was really good.. the cookie base is so good we want to come back just to try the other cookies. The americano was ok, maybe it'll be better with the light roast beans. Definitely willing to come back and give their other drinks a try too. Great service and cute interior! read more

First time here and I can see why this place came highly recommended! I got the Lotus Cream Top with oat milk. Oat milk was $1 more but that's the norm nowadays. The drink was absolutely delicious! Creamy and not too sweet with a whole cookie on top! read more

Arrived 15 min before closing and there were still a few more customers relaxing in here. It looks like a cute little spot to chill and do work. Lotus Cream Top Latte ($6.95) - I'm always a sucker for biscoff things so I was excited to try this! The biscoff flavor isn't too strong throughout the whole drink, but it still tastes like a yummy sweetened/not too overly sweet latte! I enjoyed it. the cream top is delicious. Matcha Yuzu Tonic ($6.75) - I asked for this without the tonic and just plain water because I'm not a fan of the carbonation, but I really wanted to try the matcha and yuzu together as if it were like a matcha cold brew. The flavors together were light and refreshing! Love the citrus paired with the matcha. Grabbed the choco butter bar ($6.50) which was way too rich in chocolate for me. Like the rich that you can feel through your nose lol. It was more of a treat for my bf since he liked the flavor. Very dense like a cross between a brownie and cake kind of? But more brownie density. I had to ask the guy behind the counter what it is, and strangely enough, he was unable to answer me adequately. I didn't know what to think a "butter bar" was because I honestly have never heard of it. He could've given a description or something about it, but he had no idea what to tell me. I got it anyway to try it out, but maybe make sure that all employees know how to kind of "sell" the pastries or be able to tell customers what's in it? Just in case someone can't decide on choosing this pastry or that, or if someone's allergic to something? I'm just thinking way too outside the box because I got weird vibes from a worker not being able to tell you anything about their product. read more

Walked in on a Wednesday morning around 10am! First impression was it was very nice and customer service was great! I love that they have a big menu on the side as well as a smaller menu where you order! I got flat white, iced americano and chocolate croissant. Prices were great wasn't that expensive! I enjoyed my flat white and when we ordered the iced Americano they asked if we wanted light or dark roast! The croissant was alright I wished it was a little more flaky! The inside is spacious and has a lot of setting! One thing I saw is they had a table for people that are on a wheelchair which I found very nice since I haven't really seen that at any coffee shop! read more

super cute and clean inside!! seating and parking is a bit limited. staff was very friendly and our drinks were out in less than 5 mins! we got the matcha einspanner, snowy hoji, and a choco butter bar. the drinks were super yummy! they run on the sweeter side though so i'd def adjust it next time. id personally skip the butter bar, it wasn't really for me but if you like pastries that are lightly sweetened i'd try it! i'll def be trying their coffee banana bread next though! read more
Lotus Cream Top: 5/5 Matcha Yuzu Sparkling Ade: 5/5 Aesthetic: 5/5 Service: 5/5 So happy there is a cute new coffee shop in this area! Normally would have to drive to Fullerton or Garden Grove for a good cup of coffee. Came on a rainy day and inside was aesthetic and cozy. Lotus Cream Top: Biscoff flavored latte with a thick cream top! The coffee was nice and smooth and had a great biscoff flavor. There were little bits of biscoff at the bottom that lended to the strong flavor which was nice. Drink was slightly on the sweet side, might get it less sweet next time. The cream top is more like an einspanner top, rather than a liquid cream top. Matcha Yuzu Sparkling Ade: Light and refreshing! Had good yuzu and matcha flavor. Good option for a lighter caffeine fix if not in the mood for a milky or coffee drink. Would totally be back again. So happy that this place opened up near me and hope they do well! read more
