I visited Ssum Coffee specifically because I saw their Instagram flyer advertising a free caricature drawing event from 10 AM-12 PM. I arrived around 11:35-11:40 AM, but was told the drawings had already ended because the artist couldn't finish them in time. If the event was going to end early, I think the flyer should have clarified something like "while supplies last" so customers know the event may not run until the advertised end time. The strawberry matcha was good, and the Ssum Coffee staff were kind when I shared my experience. However, I drove about 30 minutes specifically for the event, so the experience was disappointing overall. The cafe has a nice modern wood interior, although the space is fairly tight, so I'd say it's better for grabbing a drink and heading out rather than staying for a long time. Parking is convenient since it's in a small plaza, but it can get crowded and take a little time to find a spot on weekends.
"Gen Z stare" service.....I noticed someone using that term and I'm gonna start using it now lol. Verrrrry good matcha here! The bold green earthy look to it matched its taste. I specifically had the matcha yuzu tonic and it was quite refreshing (a tiny nitpick but wished there was more fizz, but not a dealbreaker at all). New Orleans latte was pretty solid; smooth and had balanced sweetness. Pretty much docked a star mainly because of the service. Young lady at the cashier just straight-faced stared at me while I was looking at the menu and was waiting for me to speak lol. No "let me know if you have any questions" or even a simple greeting. Small cafe interior. I visited on a Sunday at around 11 am and there were a couple available parking spaces in the lot at the time (parking might be more troublesome later in the day).
My sister tried this place and mentioned it was good so we decided to stop by today after lunch. This coffee shop is inside a small plaza shared with a laundromat and a teriyaki spot. The store is super cute and love that they have photos of the owners fluffy puppy to make you say "awww" as you decide what to order. The worker told me the lotus cream top was their most popular drink so I ordered that and my sister got the August special since that drink will only be available for this month. It was a peach drink topped with a matcha cream top and sprinkles in a cute cup with tiny jewels glued to the cup with Hodu's face. The cup was too cute to toss I brought it home lol. I can't wait to come back to try their other drinks!
Cute little cafe with some seating and very cute decor. Music is chill and relaxing and there are some outlets for studying. The workers are very friendly. I tried their signature ssum matcha which I believe is a standard matcha latte with cinnamon. The default milk in this drink is oat milk, and my drink tasted like 90% oat milk so I could barely taste the matcha. There was just a hint of cinnamon. This drink wasn't as yummy as I thought it was going to be--I think the milk was just a bit too strong. Their cups are also on the smaller side. I would probably try a different matcha drink if I were to come back.
Definitely a new favorite for their drinks! Stopped by Ssum Coffee for the first time today and really enjoyed it. Parking is a little limited, but the shop was easy to find when we went around 11 a.m. on a Saturday. It wasn't too busy, so we were able to browse the menu, order, and get our drinks pretty quickly. I got the Lotus Latte and loved it! It had just the right amount of Biscoff flavor and was really well balanced in its flavor: not too bitter, sweet, or milky. My partner got the Iced Vanilla Latte with Cream Top, which was good too, just a little simple for my taste. The shop itself is clean, modern, and spacious with a nice amount of seating. The atmosphere is pleasant, although nothing particularly stood out beyond the overall aesthetic. Service was straightforward and friendly. Overall, a great first visit! The Lotus Latte alone would definitely bring me back to try more of the menu.
I really love the biscoff latte with oat milk (no cream), it's still delicious even with no dairy. The pastries look pretty I wish they had some vegan options. The staff is super friendly and made the orders super quick. The interior is cute and there is a free little Photo Booth thing that can print a black and white photo to memorialize your coffee experience. The parking is pretty easy as well. Will definitely be coming back for more biscoff.
I've wanted to try this coffee shop for a while now and I'm so glad I did! The coffee shop itself is adorable with a cute seating area. I really liked the chill ambiance of the place and I can definitely see myself coming back to have a study session with my coffee. Their lotus cream top latte is one of my new favorites! They did the biscoff flavor justice with this drink and it's not too sweet either! The foam top makes it so nice and creamy, with a perfect balance of the cookie butter flavor with the coffee. Their strawberry latte is lovely too with a non-artificial strawberry taste that reminded me of strawberry pocky! The service was amazing and they ask you about milk substitutes too, which I appreciated. Highly recommend this place if you're in the mood for a coffee!
POV you're driving near the Anaheim target and you're drawn towards a calm little coffee shop in the neighborhood. First thing you see is the pastry display, minimalist menu, and wooden benches and tables. You're greeted right away and your order is in. Immediately you receive your tasty warmed up banana bread and shortly your iced Bianca latte and iced Hojicha drinks are ready. Banana bread is fresh and moist , the yuzu citrus flavor pairs well with the creamy latte, and it's strong. It's served beautifully layered, unsure about your adventurous choice, you stir it with the straw for flavor maxxing success. You walk out energized ready for a beautiful day ahead.
Ssum Coffee is a great locally owned shop for your next matcha run! This spot is located in a plaza with a decent amount of parking spots. Inside, they have a nice interior with a solid amount of seating. Wifey and I got the Strawberry Matcha and Yuzu Matcha Tonic and we enjoyed our drinks. All of the staff here are super friendly and welcoming. Shop local and support API-owned businesses!
Continuing my cafe hopping journey! Parking: They have a small parking lot. Finding an open spot can be easy. Ambiance/Environment: They have a small indoor space with a decent amount of indoor seating and minimal decor. It's more so a social coffee shop rather than a studious coffee shop. The reason why I say that is bc you can't really get much done on small, short tables and hardwood seats. I enjoy the music; definitely a coffee shop ran by woman (iykyk). Service: I wasn't greeted when I entered. The worker just looked at me. She was nice though, and I think she was still training. Both workers are knowledgeable about the menu offerings. Throughput was quick after ordering. Drinks & pastries: I tried their most popular drink - Lotus Cream Top. This is a latte with Biscoff butter topped with a cream foam and Biscoff cookie. I looove anything cookie butter. I really enjoyed this drink! The Biscoff flavor was not shy. The foam was thick, but it didn't have much flavor. I heard great things about their cookies, so I'll have to come back to try them! Pricing: Prices are a bit more than average. I'd visit once in a while. They offer rewards through Cash App.
Went here after seeing a review saying it was the best matcha they ever had. I asked for double matcha but I guess they gave me a matcha latte since it didn't have matcha cream top. It tasted very bland and I barely taste any matcha. The peach cold brew was a little better. It was cold brew with peach flavor, but nothing special. Overall, it was disappointing.
Very small location with a tiny parking lot. Cute interior with limited seating. Came by for the birthday celebration and got the hodu birthday matcha. The drink itself was nice and refreshing from the peach yogurt. I was bummed that my drink didn't look like how it was advertised on Instagram though (no decorated birthday cup). There's a couple other drinks that I would like to try so I'd come back.
This place was so cute and aesthetic inside! The coffee and matcha was extremely good as well. I ordered the cookie butter latte and my roommate ordered the seasonal matcha corn latte. The lotus latte was amazing and the sweet corn matcha was good as well, but we thought it lacked on the corn part of it and tasted like a regular matcha. The service was extremely fast and the staff were so friendly as well. They let me bring my doggo in which is always a plus we'll be back

First time visiting today. There were a few employees and they were able to get drink orders out quickly. The matcha was good and dark. This is appreciated! They had oat milk and almond milk. Great vegan option. You do pay extra. They had a full baked goods case. My husband who is not vegan got the butter bar. He enjoyed it but it was burnt on the bottom. They did not have vegan baked goods. They had valentines specials but they had a heavy cream topping which was not able to make vegan. It was a cute shop with varied seating and it was calm. So glad I found this place! After lunch when I need a little treat, I like to find a coffee/tea place to try and stopped into Ssum since I have driven past here a few times. The parking lot looks small from the front but there is more parking at the side and behind the building. Inside is a small coffee shop with natural wood seating and a cute round "planter' seating area around a small tree. It looks like a nice place to hang with a friend, take a date, work on your laptop, or just relax. I didn't have much staff interaction but service was friendly. I ordered the matcha einspanner and it was incredible! The cream top is thick and perfectly sweetened, which balances the slight bitterness that matcha has. It was delicious! Definitely will be a repeat for me. I forgot to ask if they have decaf espresso, but if they do, that will mean there is no limit to drinks I can enjoy! There is a little pastry case with cookies and things by the register but I didn't get anything...this time. Maybe next time I will! And there will certainly be a next time. read more
Needed a coffee pick me up that was local and found myself here. I wanted to try something new so the nice staff helped recommend me a drink, which was the lotus cream top. He did forewarn me and say that it was sweet and I did end up getting it, and it was in fact...quite sweet. I'm glad I tried it and it was good, but can't wait to try other items! We were curious to try this new cafe. Ordered a cookie, flat white (with the light/medium roast beans) and iced americano (with the dark roast beans). The flat white was decent! Cookie was really good.. the cookie base is so good we want to come back just to try the other cookies. The americano was ok, maybe it'll be better with the light roast beans. I came back twice in 4 days to get their birthday matcha (peach yogurt base with matcha foam)! It's soooo delicious. I've also tried the biscoff latte which I love because you can taste the coffee still. All of the employees have been nice and helpful. The interior is pretty spacious, and looks perfect to study in! Walked in on a Wednesday morning around 10am! First impression was it was very nice and customer service was great! I love that they have a big menu on the side as well as a smaller menu where you order! I got flat white, iced americano and chocolate croissant. Prices were great wasn't that expensive! I enjoyed my flat white and when we ordered the iced Americano they asked if we wanted light or dark roast! The croissant was alright I wished it was a little more flaky! The inside is spacious and has a lot of setting! One thing I saw is they had a table for people that are on a wheelchair which I found very nice since I haven't really seen that at any coffee shop! read more
Cute spot! Good drinks! However, they fill the whole cup with ice so you're not getting that much liquid which I don't love. Strawberry Matcha: Matcha was good quality, strawberry milk was a bit syrupy New Orleans: Cold brew was great Iced Vanilla Latte: Latte was great but vanilla flavor was not strong Service: Nice staff! I will say $1 for alternate milk seems high given the base price + the amount of milk. Would go back but would ask for way less ice. read more
Lotus Cream Top: 5/5 Matcha Yuzu Sparkling Ade: 5/5 Aesthetic: 5/5 Service: 5/5 So happy there is a cute new coffee shop in this area! Normally would have to drive to Fullerton or Garden Grove for a good cup of coffee. Came on a rainy day and inside was aesthetic and cozy. Lotus Cream Top: Biscoff flavored latte with a thick cream top! The coffee was nice and smooth and had a great biscoff flavor. There were little bits of biscoff at the bottom that lended to the strong flavor which was nice. Drink was slightly on the sweet side, might get it less sweet next time. The cream top is more like an einspanner top, rather than a liquid cream top. Matcha Yuzu Sparkling Ade: Light and refreshing! Had good yuzu and matcha flavor. Good option for a lighter caffeine fix if not in the mood for a milky or coffee drink. Would totally be back again. So happy that this place opened up near me and hope they do well! read more

This place is so cute! As soon as i walked in i could sense a chill atmosphere. They have some nice r&b korean music playing on a speaker! The music and layout of the furniture sets a great tone. I got one of their sig drinks which is pretty much a cookie butter latte & i also tried their strawberry matcha. Both drinks were so delicious! The flavors were so good. I enjoyed the customer service here too. I felt really acknowledged even when leaving, those small moments make a difference! I will def be coming back again. read more

This cute little coffee spot in OC is definitely a hidden gem. They're still pretty new, and I was hoping to try their Dubai Mocha drink, but sadly they were out of it. Instead, I ordered the Sweet Corn Top, which was nice and sweet. I also got the Dubai chocolate cookie~ definitely a must-try. The space is pretty small, but cozy. Parking is a bit limited since it's shared with other businesses like a nail salon, a food-to-go spot, and a coin laundry (if I'm not mistaken). Would I come back? Definitely! read more

It's my absolute favorite coffee shop, the prices are reasonable, the services are fast, the drinks are a 10/10. The matcha is very green, keeps you going and its freshly made. Arrived 15 min before closing and there were still a few more customers relaxing in here. It looks like a cute little spot to chill and do work. Lotus Cream Top Latte ($6.95) - I'm always a sucker for biscoff things so I was excited to try this! The biscoff flavor isn't too strong throughout the whole drink, but it still tastes like a yummy sweetened/not too overly sweet latte! I enjoyed it. the cream top is delicious. Matcha Yuzu Tonic ($6.75) - I asked for this without the tonic and just plain water because I'm not a fan of the carbonation, but I really wanted to try the matcha and yuzu together as if it were like a matcha cold brew. The flavors together were light and refreshing! Love the citrus paired with the matcha. Grabbed the choco butter bar ($6.50) which was way too rich in chocolate for me. Like the rich that you can feel through your nose lol. It was more of a treat for my bf since he liked the flavor. Very dense like a cross between a brownie and cake kind of? But more brownie density. I had to ask the guy behind the counter what it is, and strangely enough, he was unable to answer me adequately. I didn't know what to think a "butter bar" was because I honestly have never heard of it. He could've given a description or something about it, but he had no idea what to tell me. I got it anyway to try it out, but maybe make sure that all employees know how to kind of "sell" the pastries or be able to tell customers what's in it? Just in case someone can't decide on choosing this pastry or that, or if someone's allergic to something? I'm just thinking way too outside the box because I got weird vibes from a worker not being able to tell you anything about their product. read more

super cute and clean inside!! seating and parking is a bit limited. staff was very friendly and our drinks were out in less than 5 mins! we got the matcha einspanner, snowy hoji, and a choco butter bar. the drinks were super yummy! they run on the sweeter side though so i'd def adjust it next time. id personally skip the butter bar, it wasn't really for me but if you like pastries that are lightly sweetened i'd try it! i'll def be trying their coffee banana bread next though! read more

This is a charming little Korean-style cafe with a cozy, modern aesthetic and a relaxing atmosphere. It reminded me a bit of Harucake in LA. I've visited a couple of times now and have really enjoyed both the drinks and pastries. The cafe can get busy during peak hours and on weekends, but when I stopped by on a weekday afternoon it was much quieter. It's a nice place to catch up with family and friends or simply unwind for a bit. The menu is straightforward, with the full menu displayed near the counter. I first tried the Strawberry Matcha with oat milk. Although I personally thought the strawberry overpowered the matcha slightly, it was still yummy and refreshing. On my next visit, I ordered the Peach Matcha Latte with oat milk, one of their summer seasonal drinks. I loved it! The peach added a subtle sweetness without overpowering the matcha, making for a unique and refreshing combination. My sister loved the Yuzu Espresso Tonic. They also offer a variety of non-coffee and non-matcha drinks. My mom really enjoyed the iced Jeju Citrus Chamomile Tea, which was light and refreshing -- perfect for a hot day. We also shared the pistachio cookie, chocolate butter bar, and pistachio banana bread. Everything was delicious and not overly sweet. Service was friendly, patient, and helpful in explaining the menu. They also offer free Wi-Fi -- just scan the QR code near the pastry display. Prices felt reasonable compared with many specialty cafes. Parking can get a bit crowded near the front, but there are additional spaces toward the back. I've been wanting to try a bunch of new coffee places to find my new favorite and this one might take the cake! The inside of the cafe is sooooo cute with such aesthetically pleasing decor! The dining area is pretty small with about 5 little tables and chairs and maybe not the best spot to study but still cute! Theres a good amount of seating. The menu has your standard hot and iced lattes, coffee, and matcha but still a good variety of items. I got an iced matcha which tasted great and was not too sweet. Drinks came out fast and the two front employees were friendly :) I'd love to come back soon and try a Spanish latte or their signature matcha! They also sell espresso beans, hojicha powder, and even matcha powder! read more

This cafe is so cute and on the smaller side. It was busy when we came on a weekday afternoon, all of the seats were taken. Not a good spot to study, more of a grab and go. I've been wanting to try this spot, but the matcha left me disappointed. It was very sweet, watery, and not a strong matcha flavor It is on the expensive side considering the size. The coffee was really good, I like that it wasn't overpowering and had a good sweetness level. read more
Stopped by after my lunch. It's a nice tiny coffee shop with a nice aesthetic and cool looking espresso machine. Espresso beans are excellent and I like that they offer you the choice of light roast or dark roast for your beans. read more
My sister had been coming here regularly while she visited and the other day I decided to go with her too. She ordered the ssum matcha which had no description so she did not know that it had cinnamon. She has trouble handling cinnamon. She then asked if they could please remake it but they refused. She then asked if they could at-least remove some of the ice as it had a lot of cinnamon on top, and while they attempted to fix it, they ended up filling the cup with even more ice. Their drinks are already on the pricier side and have far too much ice, and so the drink ended up being mostly ice with just a few sips of the actual drink! We both enjoyed their coffee before this which is why I gave a 2. Otherwise it would have been a 1 after today's experience. So this was all rather disappointing. We have never been to a place that wouldn't fix a drink. Overall, a disappointing experience. read more

Started our morning trying out a new coffee shop. It's located in a small shopping strip. Once you walk in you notice the nice aesthetics in the place. It's nice and clean and has plenty of seats. I ordered a breakfast croissant sandwich and a Spanish latte, my son ordered a caramel iced latte and my daughter ordered an iced matcha latte. All of our drinks were great tasting. My Spanish latte had the right amount of sweetness and I loved the taste of the cinnamon. Will definitely be back to try some of their other drinks. read more

Finally there is a coffee shop that opened in this particular area of Anaheim! SSUM coffee shop is an ultra cute hang out. It's cozy but it does feel spacious. Love the circular seating with a tree. Great vibes. Baristas have previous experience from coffee code, flat white and long black. The Lotus Latte is actually their Biscoff latte. If you love a sweet pick me up, this is the drink for you! Another customer just bragged how the Spicy Honey Latte hot is . For matcha lovers, they also have matcha lattes with strawberry or make it a cream top or tonic. If you wanna citrus kick, try their collection of yuzu drinks and especially their yuzu Bianca ! read more
Great service. Clean. Feels open, even with it being a small space. I tried the yuzu Bianca which is their iced yuzu latte with a cream top. The quality is good! I let the drink sit and blend more. It tasted great. The pastry options are great and look amazing. I hope to come back and try another drink as well as a pastry. I recommend you check it out! read more
Wow! I am in love with this shop. The interior is so cute and feels so spacious even though it's a relatively small space. Their Ssum matcha was by far my favorite-cinnamon + oatmilk. Their matcha is so nutty and smooth. I'm definitely a matcha girl but their coffee was also great. I also highly recommend the ube white chocolate cookie, it's so doughy and has a subtle ube flavor! The line moves quick and your drinks come out pretty fast as well! Definitely check them out if you're in the area:) read more

Wow! What a hidden gem. Picture includes Two of their specialty drinks and one almond milk latte for baseline testing. Everything was delicious and the staff was very friendly. The shop is also very aesthetically pleasing and had tables for people to sit instead of awkwardly standing in the corner. Will definitely be back! read more
