Continuing my cafe hopping journey! Parking: They have a small parking lot. Finding an open spot can be easy. Ambiance/Environment: They have a small indoor space with a decent amount of indoor seating and minimal decor. It's more so a social coffee shop rather than a studious coffee shop. The reason why I say that is bc you can't really get much done on small, short tables and hardwood seats. I enjoy the music; definitely a coffee shop ran by woman (iykyk). Service: I wasn't greeted when I entered. The worker just looked at me. She was nice though, and I think she was still training. Both workers are knowledgeable about the menu offerings. Throughput was quick after ordering. Drinks & pastries: I tried their most popular drink - Lotus Cream Top. This is a latte with Biscoff butter topped with a cream foam and Biscoff cookie. I looove anything cookie butter. I really enjoyed this drink! The Biscoff flavor was not shy. The foam was thick, but it didn't have much flavor. I heard great things about their cookies, so I'll have to come back to try them! Pricing: Prices are a bit more than average. I'd visit once in a while. They offer rewards through Cash App.
This place was so cute and aesthetic inside! The coffee and matcha was extremely good as well. I ordered the cookie butter latte and my roommate ordered the seasonal matcha corn latte. The lotus latte was amazing and the sweet corn matcha was good as well, but we thought it lacked on the corn part of it and tasted like a regular matcha. The service was extremely fast and the staff were so friendly as well. They let me bring my doggo in which is always a plus we'll be back
Finally stopped by Ssum Coffee after seeing it all over my feed, and it actually lived up to the hype. The shop is on the smaller side, but that's part of the charm. Clean, cozy, and minimalist without feeling overly trendy. The staff were friendly and patient when explaining the menu, which I appreciated since there are quite a few unique drinks to choose from. Reviews from other visitors also frequently mention the welcoming service and cozy atmosphere. I tried the Strawberry Matcha, and it was easily my favorite. The matcha flavor was strong enough to come through, while the strawberry added just the right amount of sweetness without tasting artificial. The Yuzu Sparkling Ade was refreshing and perfect for a warm day. Both drinks seem to be customer favorites for a reason. What I liked most is that the drinks didn't taste overly sweet like a lot of aesthetic cafés. Everything felt balanced and made with care. The pastries looked great too, although some popular items tend to sell out early. Is it a place I'd drive an hour for? Probably not. But if you're in Anaheim or nearby, it's definitely worth stopping by. Good drinks, relaxing vibes, and a nice alternative to the usual chain coffee spots. Rating: 8.8/10 Would come back for the Strawberry Matcha and to try more of their specialty drinks.
I have always wanted to check out Ssum Coffee, so I decided to take my friends (who drove down from SGV area) to try Ssum together! First off, the dog logo is sooooooo cutteee!! Ssum Coffee is a super cute coffee shop located in Anaheim with adorable decors and social atmosphere. They have the cutest decors like mirrors, trinkets, and posters. There are seatings, but can busy at times! People were socializing while others were studying/working. Their menu is pretty straightforward and offer coffee base and matcha base drinks. My friends got strawberry matcha lattes, while I got the corn double matcha. I will have to say that the matcha is STRONGGGG!! You can tell they use good quality matcha. I couldn't taste much of the corn puree in my drink, but it was still good! My friends' strawberry matcha though!!! That was so good!! I love their strawberry puree that they use!! 100% would comeback again for their strawberry matcha!!
Ssum Coffee was a cute little place that we had noticed on Yelp! We decided to stop by because it was fairly new with a few reviews. The parking here was quite cramped. There's sports to park to the left side of the building, but parking in front is harder without an exit or entrance, too. Upon entering, we noticed the cute, whimsical decor of the shop! They had seating with a tree right in the middle. The menu was posted towards the left side and near the cashier. I had waltzed in, knowing what I wanted to order thanks to other Yelp reviews. I ordered the Lotus Cream Top Latte. It was perfectly creamy, strong, and had a cookie on top. My fiancé ordered the Yuzu Bianco and he enjoyed the taste; it was refreshing. My brother ordered one of the Valentine's Drinks with a peach top and peach brew. He also really enjoyed his drinks. The employees here were friendly and willing to explain what their drinks were. They were quick to make them and it was delicious as well. For a new cafe, I think it was very well run and decorated. They have a variety of drinks and offerings. They also had different cookies and pastries. If you're in the area, I'd recommend making a stop here to try it out!
- the interior felt like a cafe in Korea! All the decor was adorable - staff was super nice and explained the menu well - we got the matcha latte and yuzu bianca (latte with yuzu and a cream top) - the matcha was solid! A great quality for $6 which is rare these days! The yuzu bianca was indulgent and yummy as well but I would get less yuzu extract in there next time as it got too overpowering and sweet
Ssum is a cute little cafe tucked in an unassuming plaza~ I went late March and they still had Valentine's seasonal drinks up which was nice because that's were the drinks I wanted to try. I got a Love Brew which is a peach cold brew with a peach cream top. The peach flavor was really strong. The cold brew itself wasn't acidic and didn't have a strong taste. So I thought the cold brew itself wouldn't be strong, but that's where my taste buds fooled me. The cold brew itself gave me such a productive day ahaha. The staff was super kind and gave me space while I was thinking of what to order. My drink came out in a timely manner. I wouldn't recommend working/studying here because it is small. I feel like you could totally make it work though if you don't mind a squeeze.
Maybe I should have ordered the corn latte or the spicy latte... I had this place bookmarked. Decided to drop by before heading to Garden Grove. We got the lotus cream top and strawberry matcha lattes. I didn't enjoy my lotus cream top. It was a bit too creamy. The espresso was there, but not much flavor. It tasted like a reg coffee with cream top. No lotus flavor. The biscoff cookie didnt do much either. After consuming half, I ended up tossing the drink. It wasn't bad. Just not up to my liking. The others didn't like the strawberry matcha lattes. They thought it was a bit watery. The taste couldn't compare to other places that offered the same drink. Didn't get to try the cookies. Needed a coffee pick me up that was local and found myself here. I wanted to try something new so the nice staff helped recommend me a drink, which was the lotus cream top. He did forewarn me and say that it was sweet and I did end up getting it, and it was in fact...quite sweet. I'm glad I tried it and it was good, but can't wait to try other items! It's in an unassuming plaza but it was poppin' on a rainy weekday afternoon. Got the dubai chewy choco too! Chill vibes, cute interior, and diverse menu items.
Ssum is a cute little coffee shop tucked in a small plaza. Plenty of parking both in the front and back. The space itself is small but really cozy, with plenty of seating. I even came with my friends and her dog, this place is dog-friendly! The staff here are amazing. She took the time to explain the menu to us, which was super helpful. We ended up trying: - Strawberry, Dubai Chocolate Cookie - Strawberry Matcha - Yuzu Bianca - Yuzu Tonic - Sweet Corn Cream Top - Love Brew (Peach Cream Top + Cold Brew) I absolutely love their sweetness level, not too sweet and perfectly balanced. My favorites were their special menu : Love Brew, the peach cream top with cold brew, and Yuzu Bianca. So refreshing! Their cookies are super soft, delicious, and also not too sweet. The Strawberry cookie was a bit on the artificial side for me, but my friends loved it. The Dubai Chocolate Cookie was perfect in crispy & soft texture. I'll definitely be back to try other drinks and cookies!
My sister had been coming here regularly while she visited and the other day I decided to go with her too. She ordered the ssum matcha which had no description so she did not know that it had cinnamon. She has trouble handling cinnamon. She then asked if they could please remake it but they refused. She then asked if they could at-least remove some of the ice as it had a lot of cinnamon on top, and while they attempted to fix it, they ended up filling the cup with even more ice. Their drinks are already on the pricier side and have far too much ice, and so the drink ended up being mostly ice with just a few sips of the actual drink! We both enjoyed their coffee before this which is why I gave a 2. Otherwise it would have been a 1 after today's experience. So this was all rather disappointing. We have never been to a place that wouldn't fix a drink. Overall, a disappointing experience. read more

This cafe is so cute and on the smaller side. It was busy when we came on a weekday afternoon, all of the seats were taken. Not a good spot to study, more of a grab and go. I've been wanting to try this spot, but the matcha left me disappointed. It was very sweet, watery, and not a strong matcha flavor It is on the expensive side considering the size. The coffee was really good, I like that it wasn't overpowering and had a good sweetness level. read more

Service: Absolutely top notch. They went out of their way to make sure they could make a drink for me that was off the menu and made sure that it could be non-dairy. The barista literally ran to the back to check the ingredients on the corn puree they use to make sure it was non-dairy. Drinks: Their matcha is super nutty and smooth, truly very yummy! I got a matcha latte with 20g corn puree, and it was truly 10/10. Studyability: They have low tables that are not the absolute best for studying, but definitely could still make it work! There are some outlets along the benches and about 10 tables in total, with free and pretty wifi. Music is chill soft songs at a pretty low volume. ;D Heads up for all my lactose intolerant baddies out there, there unfortunately is heavy cream in their cream tops so that can't be made non-dairy, but their other drinks are still delicious. read more
Stopped by after my lunch. It's a nice tiny coffee shop with a nice aesthetic and cool looking espresso machine. Espresso beans are excellent and I like that they offer you the choice of light roast or dark roast for your beans. read more

Started our morning trying out a new coffee shop. It's located in a small shopping strip. Once you walk in you notice the nice aesthetics in the place. It's nice and clean and has plenty of seats. I ordered a breakfast croissant sandwich and a Spanish latte, my son ordered a caramel iced latte and my daughter ordered an iced matcha latte. All of our drinks were great tasting. My Spanish latte had the right amount of sweetness and I loved the taste of the cinnamon. Will definitely be back to try some of their other drinks. read more

This is one of my new favorites...! Genuinely one of the best strawberry matchas I've had (I mean, look at the color - think it speaks for itself). Great service. Clean. Feels open, even with it being a small space. I tried the yuzu Bianca which is their iced yuzu latte with a cream top. The quality is good! I let the drink sit and blend more. It tasted great. The pastry options are great and look amazing. I hope to come back and try another drink as well as a pastry. I recommend you check it out! read more
Wow! I am in love with this shop. The interior is so cute and feels so spacious even though it's a relatively small space. Their Ssum matcha was by far my favorite-cinnamon + oatmilk. Their matcha is so nutty and smooth. I'm definitely a matcha girl but their coffee was also great. I also highly recommend the ube white chocolate cookie, it's so doughy and has a subtle ube flavor! The line moves quick and your drinks come out pretty fast as well! Definitely check them out if you're in the area:) read more

I went to this place. The line was not too long but it was packed. Service was quick and the sweet corn cream latte was tasty. However, the rating that I am giving is based on the preparation of the coffee. I myself who have been to a lot of coffee shops understand the process and I watched this barista grind the coffee beans down and the overflow of that land in the porter filter she pushed off with their hands and then use her hands to wipe off the rest of the excess grounds from the portafilter essentially just fingering my coffee grounds before she tampered it. After that she took an order in which was put in her fingers on the cash register key in order and then going back to doing the same thing to the next three coffees for other people. So that unfortunately lowered their score from what would have been a four to what it's currently at now. I recently visited SSUM COFFEE, and it's such a great new spot in Anaheim. The café is newly opened and beautifully designed, with a very clean and aesthetically pleasing interior that makes it a perfect place to relax or study. I ordered their Kiss Me Matcha, which was smooth, creamy, and had a really nice balanced matcha flavor. It wasn't too sweet and tasted very fresh. My friend ordered the Lotus Cream Top Latte, and it looked just as good as it tasted. The cream top paired really well with the coffee and added a nice sweetness. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and the service was quick, which made the whole experience even better. The atmosphere feels calm and cozy, and you can tell a lot of care went into the design of the space. read more
Finally there is a coffee shop that opened in this particular area of Anaheim! SSUM coffee shop is an ultra cute hang out. It's cozy but it does feel spacious. Love the circular seating with a tree. Great vibes. Baristas have previous experience from coffee code, flat white and long black. The Lotus Latte is actually their Biscoff latte. If you love a sweet pick me up, this is the drink for you! Another customer just bragged how the Spicy Honey Latte hot is . For matcha lovers, they also have matcha lattes with strawberry or make it a cream top or tonic. If you wanna citrus kick, try their collection of yuzu drinks and especially their yuzu Bianca ! read more

Came to check this place out on a Saturday morning. The parking lot in front seems small, but there are spots available on the side and behind the businesses. The inside has a good number of small tables. Staff was very friendly and helpful. We ordered a matcha einspanner and their Valentine's day matcha. The matcha einspanner was really good. The cream top was the right consistency to sip the drink right away or mix in for later. The matcha was a solid green color and the sweetness was the right level. I wasn't able to see whether they hand whisk the matcha or mix a large batch ahead of time. 4.5/5 The Valentine's day matcha wasn't quite the same experience. I think the flavor profile they were going for was similar to the candy hearts (the cream top had 3 candy hearts as decoration). It didn't mix well in my opinion, but it was an overall cool attempt. 3/5 We also got a croissant. It was a little too chewy in the middle, not sure if it was meant to be extra doughy or if it was slightly under baked. 2.5/5 Overall, it was a cute shop and I'd go back for the matcha einspanner if I'm in the area. read more

Ssum is decent, but nothing special. I usually order the iced Americano ($4.50) Unfortunately, what really turned me off is the inconsistency in pricing. I've been charged $4.50 every time, but on my most recent visit, the lady decided to charge me $5.50 (as shown in my transactions). Saying that they've been charging me wrong for the past month. That kind of inconsistency is frustrating and doesn't build trust. read more

Our new favorite coffee spot in Anaheim! We got the hazelnut latte and vanilla latte with the cream top. Been coming here at least once a week since they opened up. The interior is bright and decor is so cute, parking is easy as well! The staff here is also so nice ! read more
Ssum Coffee is definitely holding its own on my hunt for the best matcha in OC. I tried their strawberry matcha and really enjoyed it. The strawberry flavor tasted fresh and natural, not syrupy or artificial, and it paired nicely with the earthy matcha. The balance was solid and refreshing. I'd rate this place a strong 8/10. Not my absolute #1 (yet), but definitely worth coming back for. Small tip: if you need to use the restroom, just ask one of the workers, it's located in the back of the kitchen area. Overall, a cute spot with quality drinks and a matcha that's worth trying if you're exploring OC's tea scene. read more

This is a cute new coffee spot, which opened 3 months ago. I loved the cute aesthetics and interior design. Many of their interior design items were made in Korea, bringing a artsy, simple, and cute vibe. They also sold tumblers, coffee beans, and other merch. I got the matcha yuzu tonic which was very refreshing on a hot day. The matcha itself was solid and the yuzu puree came sweetened already so the drink did not require additional sweeteners. I personally enjoy a lighter yuzu citrus hint in my matcha yuzu tonics, but this was more yuzu jam heavy as they use the yuzu puree from market type Korean yuzu tea jars ("yuja cha"). Next time I order this drink, I would probably ask for less yuzu jam as I like it slightly less sweet and thick. Overall, great drink and vibes and want to come back to try their simple matcha latte! I found an outlet to charge my laptop, but not too many outlets that I saw from a quick glance. Free parking in lot, and has only one entrance/exit area. read more

I had a frustrating experience today. I ordered the Pinky Promise drink and specifically asked for only 3 ice cubes because they usually overload the cup with ice. The cashier said "yeah, for sure," so I assumed it wouldn't be a problem. When my name was called, the cup was completely full of ice - exactly what I had asked to avoid. I mentioned it to the person handing out drinks, and she said she could remove the ice but that it would be the same amount of drink. She removed some ice, but it was disappointing that my simple request wasn't followed in the first place. This is how they gave me my drink back. lol I don't mind policies, but I do expect my order to be made as requested, especially when the cashier confirmed it wouldn't be an issue. Over it all, it tastes good but pretty upsetting. read more

They had us at "dag" [Snatch movie pronunciation of "dog"] or Little Wolf! Cozy den set-up with amazingly unique drink flavors and delicious delicacies including dubai mochi This place will be our pre or post church ritual for that quick pick-me upper. Despite being busy, they were still sweet and calm with their service. Eyeing that adorable tumbler when we return. Kinda want to keep this cute cafe a hidden gem, but word will definitely spread like wildfire due to their distinctive drink flavors. read more
First time trying this place and I'll definitely be coming back! The parking lot was a bit small, so next time I'd probably come earlier. I ordered the Lotus Cream Top and it came with a Biscoff cookie on top it tasted like cookie butter and was so delicious! Strawberry Matcha is $6.50 and is insultingly little drink for the price. It's a 4-inch tall cup with to a 2-inch diameter that is half filled with ice. Am I crazy? I see others posing for photos with these tiny drinks and writing 5-star reviews. I feel like I'm paying premium prices for a sample of the actual drink. read more

First time here and the worker was helpful giving me suggestions what type of matcha to order. I asked her I prefer matcha and which one would be good. I got the matcha einspanner. The inside was very minimal with decorations and everything. They have about 4 tabled inside for sitting. read more
