I am gonna keep this review SHORT & SWEET..... The Double matcha latte was the BEST matcha I have had so far and I have had many matchas. The ambiance was sooooo cute, open and bright. They use agave as their sweetner which gave the drink a perfectly balanced sweetness. The service was friendly and helpful. ****** NOTE to the owner: Please buy one of those fly things for the store. I saw a fly inside the pastry container. I ended up not getting a pastry just because of that. I know it is not anybody's fault but you can reduce the risk of flies getting to the pastries if you put one of those fly repellent or whatever.... Bookmark it!!!! read more

With all the up and coming matcha spots, I am always trying to find a new spot to go to. Their cafe was cute with plenty of seating and also very aesthetic. I appreciate how put together their cafe was and menu options. Because each drink is made individually and not by whole batch, it takes 10-15 mins to get your drink especially if you get multiple matcha drinks in the order. Strawberry matcha 3.75/5 I appreciate the strawberry flavor and how cohesive the drink was. However, you don't get a lot of matcha flavor and volume for the price. Banana matcha 4/5 Good banana flavor especially because it tastes fresh and not artificial. Same notes of mellow matcha and can definitely finish in a quick sitting. Yuzu matcha tonic 3/5 If you've ever tried the honey citron tea mix at asian markets, this is what the yuzu tastes like. I was disappointed that they opted for this flavor instead of a fresh yuzu note. Matcha flavor was fine but the overall drink did not taste balanced and was more on the bitter side. If I am in a matcha mood and am limited on time, I would stop in again especially since it is close by. However, I think I'd choose another place to visit for more quality and price value. read more

New coffee shop in Orange/Tustin! While the place is very aesthetic, the food & drinks were rather disappointing for how much we paid. DRINKS: The double matcha was probably the best, but it was more of a light matcha with a dairy heavy cream top. The dirty strawberry soda was pretty bitter so my friend had to ask them to add sugar & it ended up tasting like a capri sun... FOOD: The avocado cream toast only had a hint of avocado since it was mixed into the cream with cottage cheese. I think a different bread other than sourdough would've been better. The kimchi grilled cheese was actually pretty good but definitely not worth $18. I'd only come back to do work if I need a quiet place since it's spacious and has several seating/outlets. They've got some tables but most of the seating are just chairs or benches, so this spot is best for hanging out instead of studying/working. Staff is friendly and capable. We enjoyed both their americano and blueberry matcha latte made with real blueberries. You can pay a little extra for plant milks and they've got cane sugar and simple syrup on the counter so that you can adjust your drinks. It was my first time trying Rien and the ambience is very mellow/modern which leaves room for lots of aesthetic pictures. The service was extremely fast. I ordered right when I got there with no line and within five minutes our drinks were finished. I got the Strawberry Cloud Matcha Latte and my partner got the Matcha Cloud Matcha Latte. The taste of the matcha was just right and it wasn't too sweet but didn't give me that "wow" factor. We got the strawberry cloud americano with their season dark roast, and the espresso is smooth with the strawberry foam not being too sweet. The matcha has a mango puree and is on the sweeter side. I don't write a lot of reviews. This cafe not only CUTE looking BUT their pistachio cloud latte was so so delicious. I went two days in a row after my lagree class. I don't regret it. Second time I went I had to get another pistachio cloud & had to try out their kimchi grilled cheese sandwich with ham added. It was so good me and my friend shared it and we both loved the flavor. We stopped by Rien on Sunday to grab some drinks and pastries. The shop is adorable, and the staff are so nice!! The pastries were also very yummy. I got the classic cloud matcha latte, and my husband got the dirty coconut. We both really enjoyed our drinks, and the dirty coconut was especially good. I'll definitely try this again!! We got a croissant, vegetable quiche, and danish to bring back to my parents, and they were all tasty! But we thought they were quite expensive. We spent over $42, and paid more than $5 for a plain butter croissant, which feels pretty wild. The interior is super cute and very "clean girl aesthetic," and somewhat reminiscent of blue bottle. I went in on a Sunday afternoon and ordered a mango matcha. I had left in a hurry with my kiddos so I didn't have a chance to try it until I got home. And when I did it was overwhelmingly sweet. I messaged their contact on their website and have not heard back it's been almost a month and needless to say I would not recommend, for the expensive pricing and small portion they give you on top of lack of quality and customer care I wouldn't even encourage others to go. read more

The best new coffee spot out there! If you're a bagel girly the bagels here are super good, the staff are all super knowledgeable and friendly. I got great advice on what type of espresso to get in my drink and I was super satisfied with my experience. The shop itself has really great vibes for studying or hanging out with your friends. I get a 16oz vanilla latte and my regular coffee shop for $5.50 so the price for what I'm getting here is a little too high for me. Ordered the banana cloud matcha, which was okay but the banana cloud overpowered the matcha. Maybe the banana to matcha drink proportions are better for the large, but for the regular size it mainly tasted like the banana cloud. The kimchi fried rice portion was tiny for $17.50 and didn't have anything other than white rice and kimchi with a sprinkle of green onion. Disappointing and likely won't return. New coffee place that we tried recently. Definitely is a different place for coffee or a bite to eat. We got just the cappuccino, cinnamon roll, and the Quiche Lorraine. We enjoyed it all. The pastries and the coffee could have been a bit hotter. Just more luke warm and we would have preferred everything much more hotter. But, the choices were broad and very big. Many different choices, so that's good. The inside of the store was a bit surprising. Our reaction is that we walked into a Flintstones set. There was nothing relaxing there at all. Just lots of white, bench's, and stools. Really everything looked like uncomfortable places to sit. So, perhaps the goal is to just get your coffee and head out to your car. If so, then they win. I sat there and had my coffee and cinnamon roll and then had to stand to leave. It was just too hard to sit there. But, coffee and snack items were good. I would try it again. read more

I've already been twice and tried the Strawberry Cloud Matcha and the Blueberry Matcha - both were delicious! The quality impressed me and definitely makes me want to come back to try more. Rien Coffee stands out as the exception to what seems to be a trend of gimmicky coffee shops. As someone who genuinely enjoys a good cup of coffee, I typically get disappointed by most places as I feel they focus more on the idea of the drink rather than the actual final product. Taste, quality and my money are sacrificed. At Rien coffee, when I ordered a 7 dollar drink, I expected just another overly sweet, burnt coffee. What I got was not that, the espresso was smooth, perfectly brewed and flavorful. When the girl at the register asked me 'what' kind of beans I would like, I knew this place would be different. Everything on the menu is intentional and worth the price you pay for it. Every other place has 6-7 dollar drinks but I mostly feel like im drinking a cup of sugar. Im so grateful that delicious espresso and yummy (not too sweet) flavors still exist in this cruel world. I will he coming again. read more

My boyfriend and I visited Rien this past weekend. The shop had lots of seating and a good aesthetic, not my cup of tea but very consistent! The service we received was okay, nothing amazing but not rude and the drinks were relatively quick. Unfortunately, we just didn't enjoy the drinks. We paid $17 for two banana matcha lattes with oatmilk that were MAYBE 8 oz each and the banana cold foam wasn't made with real banana which is really disappointing, especially at that price point. The matcha flavor was decent, not very strong but I wouldn't say that it was milky either. Overall, I don't think that it was worth the cost or the trip and I wish that they had better food options, but as they are pretty new, maybe things will get better with time! read more
