I had positive experience here. I got a matching saucer & teacup with beautiful autumn leaves made…read morein Japan for $2 . My friend bought some cool books. I got a measuring spoon set for a $1. They usually retail for over $20 in boutiques. Some items were expensive in the boutique area but I was not interested in any of those items. I love how they have an area of canned food and supplies for people in need. A nice thrift shop to check out in St. Augustine.

After digging through this mess of a store, actually found a doll I wanted to buy in a crib full of…read more200+ unpriced stuffed animals, etc. Volunteer at register told me the doll is $5 and would not do any better. She claimed a volunteer at the store looks up the prices of everything that comes in and this doll was made in Germany and is probably worth at least $20. (Which is why it was tossed in a bottomless pile of other stuffed animals, and not not behind the counter and priced at $20???) When I tried to take the doll back to the bin and look for another...she refused to let me take it!!! (FYI the last doll I bought here cost 25 cents.) She put it behind the counter and said she would put the proper price on it and put it back out on the floor later. Decided to go back for the doll that afternoon, but doll was nowhere to be found, staff looked behind counter, etc. After explaining to the afternoon crew what happened and who was working, they replied "Oh, that's the doll lady, she's into dolls. She took it home." Long story short, I tried to purchase an item the employee at the register decided she wanted for herself. Therefore, she intentionally overpriced it, lied to my face, and kept it for herself. Such behavior is unacceptable on so many levels as far as fairness, customer service, and the fact that this is a charity organization, raising funds with the sale of donated items. As a long time thrift store shopper, and I guarantee other thrift store regulars will agree, what this sales person did was sneaky, unfair, and unethical. Needless to say I will never set foot in this shop again, and encourage others to STAY AWAY!!!

As a homeless veteran who recently found housing, I came to this Goodwill hoping to find a few…read moreaffordable items to help set up my place. I had read a lot of negative reviews beforehand but decided to give it a chance anyway. Unfortunately, my experience lived up to those reviews. I encountered multiple rude employees. When I asked a male employee for help, he dismissed me by saying, "I'm busy." At the register, an older white female employee who identified herself as a manager was extremely unprofessional. When I asked for her name, she refused to give it and walked away mid-conversation. She told me that lowering the price would be "taking money away from those who need it," while laughing and chuckling as if this were not a professional work environment. I tried to explain that Goodwill is a nonprofit and that the items are donated to help people in need, but she seemed unwilling or unable to understand that perspective. She refused to adjust the price on donated, used items that were already overpriced. Overall, this was a very disappointing experience, especially for someone who genuinely needed affordable household items. I won't be returning, and I hope management takes customer service and professionalism more seriously--especially when serving vulnerable members of the community.

It was my first time going to this new store, but not returning my money because of the girl talking to the other cashier, she rang up items twice, the Manager even said she identifies herself as a male, what in the hell has that do to her mistakes? I will never go there again. Nothing is organized as small, medium, Large or extra large, plus the shoe's are the same way, it takes hours to shop in an unorganized store with stupid rules and managers telling customers about identity like the girl identified as a male, managers should never speak private information about there worker's. Shoes were dirty and expensive, Goodwill was to help poor people, not Rich people. Very disappointed

This year I called and talked to a lady in charge who said she would help me out again this year. To come over between 1-4 PM and she would assist me with my food stamp application. She said I could come over...Any Time...during these hours. I went there this past week and they refused me help. Told me I had to be homeless when the staff person told me she would help me anyway since I was on a small fixed income and had been very sick recently taking some new medications that I was still struggling on with serious hypertension. Being treated poorly does not help those with hypertension. Another lady was there asking for help (ahead of me) for a family and they told HER...she had to be a St Johns County resident?! Nothing was said about must be "homeless" to Her.... What gives here...LIES! Tell the public what you think they want to hear...and then tell them to GO AWAY! I am on a fixed small income and have to rent a room in house owned by a gentleman friend. For many years, every time I go on-line to do the FS Renewal...they won't allow me to submit my App. If you go to Human Services...they refuse to print out the application and in both cases...you never know if the renewal got there or not. In all cases...No they told me it was not submitted?? and I lost food stamps both years for 2 months. I cannot afford this. I am on a very restricted diet unfortunately due to allergies, chemicals, and food sensitivities and very much need food stamp money to just be able to eat what I can each month. A report needs to go to the County and to the State Of Florida to find out just what these people are suppose to be doing with helping the public. Remember...they are receiving MONIES to run this place...whomever you are who is sending them money...You MUST check into this shelter and investigate and see why things are not being operated properly in good standing. And why there are Rules for some...and different rules for others! Beware! Stay Away from this place...all you get is NOTHING!
