I've been going here all my life for the ice cream. It was always consistently among the top three ice cream places in the area in terms of taste and texture. Unfortunately, this summer they have completely changed their ice cream. Even the flavors that still have the same name are fundamentally different, and the taste and texture are far inferior to what they were before. I used to rank them above Salem Valley and only a little bit below Buttonwood Farms; now they're decidedly below Salem Valley and laughably below Buttonwood Farms. Bring back the old ice cream! It was so much better. With this ice cream, I fear we will have to end our old family tradition of coming multiple times per summer. read more

Good old fashioned treats, moderately priced and made fresh to order! Had several fabulous lunches here. The lobster salad roll is unbelievably great! This is probably my favorite casual place to dine in watch hill! The menus features classic favorites like lobster rolls, burgers, grilled cheese, grinders, and salads along with chowder. Additionally, there is a stand inside the restaurant for ice cream and lemonade as well as a popcorn stand outside. The staff is all very friendly and willing to help the customers. The food is delicious and comes out quickly. Keep in mind it's a very low key, casual place commonly eaten at by beach-go-ers, which means paper plates, cups, and served on trays. But honestly the food is great, the people are great, and it's an overall perfect spot for a quick, easy meal. read more

I have been going here forever and I can never find a better lobster roll or clam chowder. Their's is the best I've had. It's a great location because there is shopping and then once you get done eating food they have ice cream to! It is right near the water and it is just a family friendly place to eat! Very disappointed. Not the ice cream store from years back when my children were young. The pistachio was died green and had Green candy pieces. Not good. Cappuccino also had candy pieces. Sadly we will not be back. read more

As a local I drive 15 miles to have this in season. The raspberry choc chip is delicious! The walnut maple is really good too.

Average taste for ice cream. Too much sugar. when I compare this to places in Newport and Maine, it is not in the same league. But not bad for a visit to watch hill and you can walk down the beach with ice cream. read more

Great place to grab lunch or a drink for a day and it's a quick walk from the beach! It has a great lunch menu with sandwiches and fried food, and best of all the drinks! The frozen lemonade and strawberry lemonade is the best I've ever had! Ice cream is very good, but a tad overpriced. Overall, definitely the place to go! read more

What happened to St.Claire 's? Prices for their ice cream are ridiculous. I wouldn't mind paying what they are asking, if the portion sizes reflected what you are paying for. I asked for sprinkles and could literally count how many there where on the cone. So sad, never was like this before. They might as well call themselves the Ocean House. read more

When you think of summer and the beach and watch hill the only other thing that is missing is the ice cream. Home-made at the store with over 20 flavors to choose from, an old fashion ice cream shop that one can not pass up after a long day at the beach. Always a stop on our way back. The place has good sandwhichs and subs however dont go if you expect a quick bit during the middle of lunch hour on a sunny day as the store will be pack. Great shop, a must try. read more
