when the husband and i walked up to st elmo, i wasn't exactly sure what to expect before he pulled the door open for me. just a dive bar that seems to be where the locals of bisbee like to party at. there was a guy falling asleep on the stool next to me and the bartender yelled his name a couple times to tell him she had ordered him a cab. that was kind of funny. i think st elmo is just a great place to people watch. but not really my scene. service was friendly and efficient! read more

Our small group (me, friend, and his girlfriend) walked into St. Elmo at around 11:30 on a Friday night. It was fairly busy, but you could get into an empty spot at the bar with ease and get your drink order in. We had already had some beer at the Brewery so we were all in for mixed drinks. As the night went on, we got a whiskey sour, a Bloody Mary, a michelada, and many Tom Collinses. Despite giving off the image of being a beer and shot dive bar, all of the drinks were affordable, strong, and super tasty. As soon as you go in, you'll see the bar and some seating on the left side and steps leading to additional seating, a small dance floor, and space for DJs and musicians to perform. When we walked in, a DJ was playing pop and hip hop music and a few ladies were getting down. Later on, a local rapper (and fellow Boricua!!) took the stage for a small set with a backing track. He was alright, but the crowd wasn't into it too much. There's a 75 cent pool table and we were able to get quite a few games in without any pressure to give up the table or play anyone else so it was nice being able to play (very suckily), drink, and listen to music at the same time. Despite being local and divey with a diverse clientele (from bikers to hippies to millennials), it's a very chill spot to get a drink and have fun. I'll be back very soon!! read more

St. Elmos is always a good time. Most weekend nights have a live band or karaoke. When thats not going on the juke box has an ok selection. Bartenders are normally nice. If you have a laid back bisbee attitude you will get along with most people in the bar. Love going there with big groups on the weekend and grabbing a table on the other side of the bar. The only place we found open until 2 on a weeknight in Bisbee! Really cool local place though. You get a mix of everyone here from the locals who you can tell come here too often to all the tourists coming through town. Cheap drinks though, bartender was a blonde woman who was super cool! Pool tables and a long bar with plenty of seating but then there was extra seating and a little dance floor. Not much of a concept, the walls are filled with so much randomness but that's what makes the place so cool. If you like finding local bars spots in small towns, St. Elmos is a must!! Like I said it had really cheap drinks and has to be the only thing in the town open until 2 so you really don't have a choice...but you will be glad you went! read more

Definitely the local hang out, a quintessential dive bar for sure. While the bartendress(es) weren't the most pleasant or friendly, the patrons certainly were! Could tell we weren't locals, asked us genuinely nice and friendly questions. The rest of the patrons (who were all locals, clearly) were drunk and solo dancing or playing air guitar to the jukebox...great people watching. I have been to St. Elmo a few times, and it's been ok. My last experience, however, was terrible. The bartender was intolerable. I ordered a drink, waited about 15 minutes right in front of him at the bar, never got the drink, and finally left. During those 15 minutes I got to watch him play with his phone the entire time to play HIS music. He only played music he liked, which was horrible, and scoffed at anyone who made a request. He was also very busy talking with the "regulars" while I waited. Lastly, he was way too tough guy for my liking. Call me crazy, but shouldn't a bartender (someone in the service industry) serve drinks in a timely fashion, play music the CUSTOMERS want, and be friendly? I don't know, maybe I'm too old school. read more

St Elmo is probably the best bar in Arizona! So, you don't like rude bartenders who over pour, weird locals, bikers,homeless people? Go drink at the HIlton Hotel in Scottsdale!.
