The extensive beer menu and abundance of TV screens were definite positives, but the cleanliness and food quality left much to be desired. They were packed during the games, though the line moved fairly quickly. If ordering only beer, orders were placed directly at the bar. The beer selection was displayed on screens above the ordering counter, though there were additional ciders and sours available upon request. Food came out quickly as the grill was constantly being reloaded. After ordering, I was given a pager that buzzed once everything was ready. The pick up station was located near condiment counters lined with half opened bottles of hot sauce, mustard, and mayonnaise. I did appreciate the ketchup variety, which included original, chipotle, and curry options. *Dragonfruit, Passionfruit Sour: pleasantly acidic and fruit forward. This unfortunately came from a can rather than the tap. I was offered a chilled glass, which I accepted, though the can itself was not refrigerated so the final pour ended up disappointingly lukewarm. *Onion Rings: disappointing batter execution. They were already half soggy despite us eating them immediately. The coating lacked airiness and everything had a one dimensional chewiness. I also wished both the batter and onion carried more sweetness and developed flavor. *Sweet Potato Fries: suffered from the same sogginess as the onion rings. The portion was generous for $8, though these largely served as a vehicle for the various ketchup options rather than standing on their own. Oddly enough, the women's bathroom was far cleaner than the dining area itself. Our table appeared unwiped when we sat down, and the sauce station was noticeably greasy. I ended up avoiding most of the condiments because the bottles had a visible and tangible film coating them. Unfortunately, I felt somewhat ill after finishing the meal and definitely noticed the effects afterward. St. John's has a strong beer program and great game day atmosphere, but the cleanliness issues were difficult to overlook. The entire space could benefit from a much more thorough deep clean. On top of that, the underwhelming quality of the appetizers made it hard to justify returning when even the simplest menu items lacked proper execution.
My friend Kevin, recommended this spot, for us to go to lunch in the last day of school. Being a foodie, I love trying new spots, especially new burger joints! I got the double cheeseburger and we shared a basket of French fries, I tried the curry ketchup, and it was delicious! I'll definitely be back again!
This is an awesome place to watch sports! There are multiple screens showing many different games that are on. The food is wonderful! There are so many options from burgers to sandwiches to fries and more! I couldn't help myself, so I had to keep ordering
I came here for a friends graduation and we got try so many of their dishes! Honestly it was all porter good food bar food with generous portions so we were satisfied. The ambiance was cool because they have an out door seating The parking was relatively easy because they have a huge parking lot
They had different options to order from and for the burgers, you are able to order them with lettuce instead of a bun if you would like. I ordered the Guaco Burger and I did not know chips were included when ordering it, which was a nice surprise for me! They have both indoor and outdoor seating. My friend ordered the Cheesesteak and she said it had great flavor.
Glad I came, want to try more. It's a sports bar, which honestly doesn't appeal to me. But, we need local food and quick and a Gluten Free option and this fit the bill. First, I like the glass. There are stained glass windows at the front and in the ceiling that add beauty and character. It was order at the counter, seat yourself, and pickup your own food. This made it faster, which was appreciated. The chicken burgers feature thighs, not breasts, which means someone here has a brain. THANK YOU! They did had Gluten Free buns available, too. Thursday night, it was noisy but no judgement. Husband got mushroom burger, came with chips. Enjoyed. I got a bacon bbq chicken burger. Decent. Gluten Free buns tend to crumble and that's life. Came with chips. We also ordered a side of bacon and cheddar fries. I thought they were stale, sadly. Like they were made from old fries and then cheese added or created as held until ready. There is a large outdoor patio that looks dog friendly. I think we should try this place again.
Wow... just wow!!! My absolute FAVORITE Burger spot in the USA. I travel everywhere in the world and when I return home I am all about the St John's burger I get the classic with onion rings adder - NEVER DISAPPOINTS!!! Parking is a little limited... so plan accordingly :)
We came here on a Monday night and ordered the Old Fashioned Cheeseburger, Pepper Steak Philly Cheesesteak Garlic fries. My favorite was the garlic fries. Old Fashioned Cheeseburger: We got it Med-well and the burger was okay. The bun was soft, but the bun was a lot larger than the burger patty. Pepper Steak Cheesesteak: this was a bit salty for me and was just okay. I would rather order the burger over the Philly. Garlic Fries: this was the redeeming factor for this place. The portion was good and there was a lot of fresh minced garlic on top and throughout the pile of fries. This place has a lot of TVs playing different sports games and there is a station for ketchup, curry ketchup, chipotle ketchup, honey mustard, and mustard. The sandwiches also come with a small bag of lays chips. This place used to have daily specials-- but these are no more. The price seemed a bit on the higher side. This place is good for hanging out to watch a game while eating and drinking if that is your thing.

The booths are tight if you're bigger (I had to sit a table ). Service wise, you order, pay, and pick up when the food is ready, so neutral there. Food wise, I ordered the double cheeseburger and it looked great. Two big patties, super juicy, not too many toppings. However, it was salty. REALLY salty. After taste in your mouth salty. I took it back for a new one, and the new one was just as salty, but also quite rare in the middle, ruining the entire experience. There was also a fair amount of blood on the side of chips, which added another layer of ruin to the whole experience.
I've been coming to St. John's for years. I lived nearby from 1998 to 2010 and used to eat there almost every week for their specials. I live in San Jose now, so I don't make it over as often, but I've always considered it one of my favorite places for a great burger. In fact, I was just telling a coworker this week how good their burgers were, which is what convinced me to stop in for lunch today. Unfortunately, this visit was a huge disappointment. I ordered a burger, my wife had the chicken tenders, and we shared an order of cheese fries. The burger arrived completely undercooked. The pictures don't even do it justice--it wasn't just rare, it was raw. After a few bites I realized the meat wasn't even warm in the center. Since they use pre-formed patties, I'd think cooking them consistently would be one of the easier things to get right. By the time I realized how raw it was, I'd already eaten a few bites, and the meal was ruined. We ended up spending about $50 on a lunch that was essentially inedible. It was also 1:00 p.m. on a Saturday, and the restaurant was surprisingly empty. Maybe that's a sign that things have changed, but it's sad to see. As a longtime customer, this wasn't the experience I expected from a place I used to recommend without hesitation.
Casual walk in joint. Order at the counter and they give you a pager to page you when it's time to pick up your food. Got a burger (forgot which one) and a hard cider. Garlic fries: 5 stars. One of the best garlic fries I've had in a long time. Really garlic chunks and plenty of it. The burger was huge and we shared between two people. Th we hard cider was so good. Not too tart. Sorry I forgot what it was called - from Humboldt county I think. Over great food. We sat at the bar and our bartender let us tasted the cider before we ordered it. Which was very helpful.
We were in the area found this place on yelp and decided to try it. Plenty of parking but the place is tucked away in the very back. There's a ton of seating outside with umbrellas. You walk in go to the back where you order. The menu is at the top. I got a Philly cheesesteak. You get a buzzer to get your food. I really liked that the lights were a little dim. A lot of seating inside and the booths go up high for privacy. There's there's a little bar by the cashier as well. There was a lot of TV's so you can see the game. The food was delicious and price was reasonable. All my family loved this place.
Love this place so much! The food is always hot and fresh! Service is always quick and chill. I love that they have a patio for your furry friend. Garlic fries and poppers are a must! Love their grilled cheese too! They are closed on Sunday and Monday though!

This place is awesome. The score is just for the food, since I don't drink alcohol. The ambiance is classic dive bar and super fun. On to the food: This place has great burgers and chicken sandwiches, but if you've ever wandered by you can smell them grilling chickens. They're delicious overall, but a little inconsistent - sometimes it's a little too salty, other times the skin isn't rendered enough in a spot, or the meat is slightly dry in a spot. I'm making it sound bad, but I order this like half the time I'm there because it's delicious enough the inconsistency is not worth skipping this for. If you are in a hurry to clog your arteries the French fries with blue cheese and bacon will satisfy your most primal cravings while simultaneously wiping a year off your lifespan in a single order. Might be worth it. It's an absolutely huge portion. Whole plate is probably 5000 calories. This place is a local gem and you shouldn't miss it. Just know what it is and have a fun time. read more
My wife, oldest son and I enjoyed another delish lunch at St. John's yesterday. We got lucky and found a parking space close-by, which can sometimes be a challenge, since it's really popular. You can dine inside or outside on the patio. We chose to eat inside. The restaurant was cool, thanks to their A/C. I was happy when we got in line to order and there were only a few guests in front of us. The line moved quickly and we placed our order, grabbed our soft drink cups, grabbed our buzzer and found a table. The buzzer went-off and we grabbed our food. My wife and I enjoyed a Bacon Swiss Burger, our son ordered a Double Cheeseburger and we ordered a basket of Garlic Fries. They delivered an order of Loaded Fries to us by mistake. We told the server we didn't order it, but he said it was their mistake, so it was on the house. Our burgers were good-sized, flavorful and filling. The Garlic Fries were awesome, especially if you like garlic. We only ate about half of the Loaded Fries, since it was just so much food. Help yourself to refills of soda, if you like. The staff is always courteous and friendly. They also bus the tables regularly, which is appreciated. This is one of my fave places to enjoy a burger! read more

This place is pretty good for burger and onion rings. The cheesesteak was just ok not much cheese for $15.50. Large seating area and patio so it's good for large groups. There's also curry ketchup and spicy ketchup that are good. Loud and fun atmosphere. I would come here again for the onion rings. read more
Have heard so much about this place and read the reviews, so I was excited to try the best burgers in the area. After a long day at Great America decided to check it out. Has a bar area with craft beers on tap and it's a great place to watch any games if your sports fan. TV's all throughout the place and has outdoor seating as well. People were friendly, but was really disappointed with the food. What we ordered: Hickory Burger: Way too much mayonnaise on the bun, patty was seasoned very well, but the burger was very soggy from the bbq sauce. Took one bite and my burger broke lol. Overall ok. Buffalo wings: Wings were a bit overcooked and were too crunchy. They did provide us a lot of ranch, but the sauce on it was a bit overcooked powering. Not my favorite. Basket of Fries: The best thing ordered. They were crispy and really good. Great spot to check out if you're in the Santa Clara area, but not a place I'd go out of my way for if I'm carving a burger. read more
The food was great! The pepper and pepper jack burger was delicious. Definitely better than the mushroom burger. The burgers come with lays chips on the side. The service is incredibly fast for a burger to taste that good. Very impressed. The ambiance is very dude coded. As a walked in I could count the number of women present on one hand. There's plenty of seating and all the dudes seem to be having a really great time. Definitely bring "the boys" to this place they'll love it. read more
St. John's Bar and Grill has been a classic spot for years. Tuesday's is Tri-Tip Tuesdays, but I always end up getting the Philly Cheesesteak Sandwich. I got the combo Philly, which comes with mushrooms and peppers. Each sandwich comes with plain Lays potato chips on the side. The ladies at the front counter who take your order are always so nice and sweet. With the Summer coming up, their front patio area is a great place to eat your food at. read more

I got the cheeseburger which was 14 dollars. It doesnt come with tomatoes which was fine but it comes with mayo, lettuce, cheese, and raw onions. Its a pretty decent burger but I wish it was cheaper. The burger itself was really good and you get a bag of lays chips instead of fries. We also got a drink and basket if fries and the drinks were unlimited refills. Plenty of tables since we went around 8pm on a Saturday. The bathrooms are clean and service was fast and you pick it up yourself. Everything was great until I asked staff for ketchup that was behind the bar and yelled at me telling me to go the self serve ketchup area. The man wasnt even doing any anything and the bottle was right behind him. read more
Hadn't dined here in 10-15 years. Joined some coworkers after work this Wednesday. Shared onion rings, fries and buffalo wings with a friend. Onion rings- good but batter a little too thick imo Fries - crispy and tasty buffalo wings - typical flavor but chicken was quite dry - comes with celery Cheesesteak - coworker got this and said was too salty and seasoning was too strong Overall, typical drinking food but nothing special. Granted, it's been 10 years since I've been here and I have many fond memories of this place. It WAS the best hamburger joint in town. NOW, what a dump it's become. They are cutting corners everywhere they can. I had the Cobb Salad and all they put was small pieces of chopped chicken, chopped egg, barely could see any avocado. And their fries, OMG! Why bother serving them. They're using the cheapest frozen fries they could find. You can clearly see some of the potatoes were either old, bruised or rotten. They are not the nice big fries they used to serve. I can no longer recommend this place. You're better off going to Chili's for their burgers and fries. So much better! read more

We had a group of six going to Top Golf, and we found St. John's on Yelp. It's in a strip mall that seems a little run down. But, parking was easy. The Warriors were playing so the place was very busy and it seemed to be a lot of regulars. The process is stand in line, order, take a number, and food is delivered to the table. The food was great! We had burgers, salads, and chicken sandwiches. Burgers were large! The curry and chipotle ketchups were nice additions. The beers included several local breweries: well done. When looking for a casual burger or pub, it's a great spot. We will definitely add this to our list of go-to places. read more
The Cajun cheese steak is an incredibly tasty treat! Pair it with the best garlic fries you've ever tried and a pump of one of their yummy sauces, and you've got yourself a seriously tasty meal! Let's not forget about the great draft beer selection including pliney the elder from Russian river! The beer menu is extensive and has something for everyone! Lot's of local favorites. The atmosphere here is just what one would expect for a proper bar & grill. Hardwood walls and columns, dark(ish) booths, a nice outdoor area. They have got it all! I had a chance to frequent this place for a few months and I love it. It's like an oasis in an otherwise baren desert of food and fun. Give them a try! read more

Decent burger spot in Sunnyvale. I used to go there frequently during the late 90s to late 00s. Their 1/2 off specials were a great bargain for a 99-Percenter like me. Burgers are still great, including the garlic fries. The prices have risen significantly over the years, but it's still affordable. Like Jeff h. said, it sad to see it empty on a Saturday. Prior to the pandemic, the waiting line used to stretch to the door. I walked right up the front on a Saturday evening. Although, there were times when it was super-busy that I wished it was shorter. All in all, still a good place to have a burger and brew and watch sports. I got to chop it with an old friend and during busier times it was a little hard to carry on a conversation. And yes, I will be back. read more

Came here on a Wednesday evening for dinner, and there was plenty of seating available. You order at the counter inside and they are very fast with getting you your food. We chose to sit in the patio outside, where there were also TVs stationed to watch sports. I got their cheeseburger, and it was good! I really loved the sharp crunch of their pickles. A very solid, sturdy burger. They come with mayonnaise, which I found interesting. They have a wide variety of burgers and other meals available, and I'd love to come back to try them! read more
Way over due for our visit. Decided to go on Friday before the Mothers Day weekend and it was great. Not too busy. Plenty of seats and tables available. The parking was ok. A lot of different busnesses there in this plaza type of environment. I decided to try the Cajun Burger and a basket of fries and also a Cajun Philly Cheese Steak sandwich with a cold soda and it was splendid. It hit the spot. read more
I love this place! A friend introduced me to it earlier this year, and I've been back so many times since. My go to order is the Double Cheeseburger with a Basket of Onion Rings, but when I'm extra hungry, I'll go for The Big Daddy instead. The wait is never too long, and I like that every order comes with some chips on the side. The burgers are always nice and juicy, and the onion rings are delicious. The sauces here are pretty good too, I always get Honey Mustard. I'll definitely keep coming back for more! read more
