    Smoked Brisket Sandwich
    Nohemy C.

We hadn't been a while and decided to come on a random Wednesday for lunch. It was busy and I made it in time for their amazing brisket sandwich. It's safe to say that if you don't get there before 12:30, you will have to order something else. But don't worry, they have top notch meats and specials like the Halle Berry. My husband devoured half that sandwich which was made of pulled pork and a spicy sausage link. The sandwiches are huge and they don't hold back on the tots. The staff are super nice and do their best to manage the many customers to get your order right. Still the best BBQ in the south bay!

South Bay lacks decent BBQ choices. The last time I had great BBQ down here was in the early to mid 2000s with some place on Tully Rd sort of next to this Asian grocery store (that's no longer there) in a strip mall. That place closed a long time ago and I've been trying to find great BBQ since then. The food looks great but I don't know if I just got an off day or an off cut but the brisket was really dry. It had great bark and the fat top was really well smoked and rendered. The meat portion was super dry, almost like lean pulled pork dry. Tri-tip was too saucy and tough. I like a Santa Maria style tri-tip, this one from Smoke Out came dressed up in some sauce I kinda didn't like. Sides were very meh. Mac and cheese wasn't very cheesy, it was more be bechamel sauce than anything. Sweet beans were not great, very grainy. Bush baked beans is the one to beat, you've gotta taste better than that. Their BBQ sauces aren't my cup of tea. Their original is very sweet and fruit-based (pineapple). I also just had Harris Ranch BBQ couple weeks ago so I'm judging off a place that does cattle right, all day long, and in the middle of nowhere. I'd like to try again and chalk it up to maybe just being an off day, but to me my first visit was just ok.

It's located in an unassuming spot surrounded by industrial buildings. The service is quick and simple. They have a cash discount. There is plenty of seating and TV for sports viewing. The garlic cornbread is a MUST. We tried to the tri tip and brisket, both are delicious. Their sauces are unique and tasty. We had mac and cheese and potato salad as sides--yummy! Will definitely come back! I definitely want to try their rest of their menu!

Food: A Brisket: definitely hitting top tier bbq in the bay area. The bark on the brisket was perfect and the end product was smoky moist goodness. (yes moist, triggered yet?) Tri tip: super beefy. Try it! Ribs: these hit alot of the high notes but they were a bit on the dry side. Potato salad: good potato salad no complaints here. Pickles: yes when the man offers you pickles, one says yes. Service: A -John

Very nice, I got DoorDash takeout. I got a brisket and links with slaw and mac. The links were super juicy and flavorful. Slightly smoky. The brisket was mostly juicy, a few bits I felt could be more tender, but definitely not dry by any means. The Mac was great, and had crunchy bits on top. I'd give it 4.5/5.

I'm still not over how close this place is to grandma's and I've never been! Came in about 30 minutes before they closed (and had to drive around a bit to find parking as they're a tiny, hole-in-the-wall spot located in a small business area). We were immediately greeted and the gentleman helping us out let us know that they were unfortunately all out of fatty brisket. We joked around a bit, and I asked him to try to find the fattest pieces he could from the brisket that was left. There isn't a lot of seating, but we got a cozy seat in the corner. In a few minutes, our food came out and it was SO good. Mac n cheese was solid, but the beans were GREAT. Considering we had leaner pieces, the brisket was still tender and flavorful (much better than what we've had at smokin pig). I'm so glad we tried this spot out because it's definitely going to be our new go to when we want something nearby.

Back again after a year! Was craving some quality BBQ and decided to came back here. Welcoming staff. Limited seatings inside. Tasty BBQ and delicious sides. I got the brisket and pork ribs with the garlic cornbread and dirty rice. Brisket was flavorful and tender. Breaks easily and goes well with their BBQ sauce. Pork ribs were solid. Good char and rips off the bone quite well. The dirty rice was also full of flavor. The garlic cornbread I'd pass next time. Found they were on TooGoodToGo and ordered for the next day closing. Got a box for $7 and came with leaner/end pieces of brisket but still solid. Also came with ribs and tastes same but just smaller pieces. 2 servings of coleslaw which has a nice sauce. Great way to save food.

There's few good bbq places in Santa Clara, at least American style bbq, and they are way far between. So I'm glad that smoked out bbq is so close to my house. I ordered through ChowNow app, and scheduled ahead. My order came without any issues. I appreciate them throwing in the free dinner roll, but the food was delicious, and the sauces are all good too. My favorite part of the meal was the fatty piece of brisket. I'm gonna try and order something whenever there's a big ufc fight cause this is the perfect food for that occasion.

Just tried Smoked Out BBQ for the first time, and I'm thrilled to have finally found a go-to spot for BBQ in the Bay! I went with the Combo 1--brisket, ribs, tater tots, and sweet beans. The brisket was incredibly tender, and the ribs fell right off the bone. They also had a great selection of sauces to choose from. On top of that, the staff was super friendly and welcoming.

First time trying smoke out and I'm a fan! Finding a good BBQ spot in the bay has been rough, but so glad to have found this spot. 5% off if pay with cash. Tried the combo 1 with brisket and chicken and tots. Brisket so tender and fell apart easily. Chicken was my fav! Everything so tender, they even know not to give you knife! Tots are perfectly crisp. Sauces are fab and they offer pickles. Parking is plentiful on the weekend. Service is friendly. Will be coming back!

    Dirty rice and coleslaw

Here is my two cents on the price quality and quantity of my order.. It was delivered and a very timely matter by GrubHub.... Unfortunately, GrubHub application I could not raise the tip for the driver which he deserved it.... He followed directions precisely... I ordered a hot Link sandwich, tater tots, dirty rice, and also got coleslaw ... I ordered the hot Link sandwich and tater tots... I only wish they had a place to get an extra spicy hot link on the order application! I found that the size of the tater tots and the hot link sandwich was more than enough to fill you up... The coleslaw I thought was just perfect... Not too wet not too dry not too sour not too sweet just right!!!! They're dirty. Rice was also smoked flavor and they also gave you bits and pieces of shredded beef. I believe.,... a good presentation with some shredded sliced up green onions on top!!!!! They also provided 1 ounce of the barbecue sauce.. I thought it had the right amount of what you needed except it could've been made a little bit thicker but that's just my opinion. As far as Cost it's a better and bigger meal than you would get ordering at a McDonald's place. So for a better meal at a better price this is the place you need to go order a delivery or stop on in. It is a food truck though so plan on eating in your car or taking it with you..

I've seen the logo before on some advertisement or maybe their truck. So I was surprised when my buddy and I met up for lunch and I saw it was a place on my radar. Industrial warehouses all around. So you could easily miss this spot unless you heard about it, by word of mouth. Small, busy, and packed. Unfortunately, one person running the front, so cashier and taking your order, fulfilling orders, packing up orders, etc. Be patient, it's worth it. Though, they needed 2 people in the front to help the customers. It was lunch time. Combination Plate: All meal combinations come with 5oz of protein per selection, along with a 5oz side(s) of your choice and a sweet roll. Combo 2: Cannot double up on tri tip or brisket. Comes with choice of 2 proteins (pork ribs, smoked brisket) and 2 sides (chili, sweet beans). *Pork ribs (4/5) - meaty, nice bark, sweetened, tender but not fall-off- -the-bone tender. One of the better tasting ribs. *Smoked Brisket: smoked forn18+hrs with oak/hickory wood (4/5). Lean brisket, so partly a bit drier but some fattier parts included so that was juicier. *Chili: Ground beef, onions, bell peppers, tomatoes, with their own spice blend (no beans). It was good. Though, not much heat. But tasty. *Sweet Beans: white beans with their sweetened house original pineapple BBQ sauce (4/5). Some might think it's too sweet. But it was a nice flavor and fork tender beans. Thanks RK for lunch and introducing me to this place. I'll be back! Support your local business.
