    SUNSET BOULEVARD BURGER
    Diane W.

I had lunch here, with my friend after shopping at the Westgate Shopping Center. The restaurant is in front of the mall and shares a parking lot with it as well. When we walked in, the place was busy. The outdoor seating area was all full on one side and empty on the other. We let them know we wanted to sit inside at a booth. They accommodated us and seated us right away. It's very large very spacious inside with a large amount of seating. There is even a private area for large groups. There is a full bar area with plenty of seating too. We were brought ice water and menus. They offer a variety of American comfort foods and some Greek dishes. The menu we were looking at offered breakfast and lunch. There is a separate menu for dinner as well as a happy hour menu. I ordered the Sunset Boulevard Burger. This burger came with avocado, bacon, Jack & cheddar cheese on sourdough bread. I chose a salad for my side. My friend ordered the Code Bleu Burger. This burger came with bleu cheese, bacon, BBQ sauce and onion rings in it. She chose sweet potato fries for her side. There was an upcharge of $1.95 for the sweet potato fries. For our drinks, my friend got a Diet Pepsi and I ordered an iced tea. Our food came out quickly. The burgers were both delicious. They prepared mine a perfect medium rare and made my friend's burger medium well, as was requested. My burger was so flavorful and juicy. They had all the fixings on the side. My side salad was very good but I didn't care for the dressing. Our kind server brought me a few other dressings for me to try and I ended up using the herbed vinaigrette. My friend loved her burger, especially the bleu cheese. Her sweet potato fries were crispy and delicious. The portion sizes were huge. We could only eat half of our meal, because it was so big. Service was excellent. Our sever checked on us several times and refilled our drinks without us having to ask. We really enjoyed our meal and will be back to try their breakfast, next time.

My wife, oldest son and I have eaten at Jack's twice in the past few weeks with some of my family members. Since Jack's at Westgate is close to their homes, it made sense to go there. Their menu is diverse and offers many options for lunch or breakfast. They don't skimp on their portions and their service is quick and their staff are friendly. Our first visit, my wife and oldest son ordered breakfast. My wife ordered the chili cheese omelette, hash browns and toast. Our son had the Carnivore (all meat) omelette, hash browns and toast. I ordered the Spaghetti and Clams. This most recent visit, my wife and son both ordered a Classic burger, cheddar cheese and fries. I enjoyed the fish-n-chips that came with tartar sauce, Cole slaw and fries. All the food was really good and filling. Everyone enjoyed the burgers and they are good-sized too. My fish-n-chips were delish. The fish was cooked just right, the Cole slaw was tasty and the fries were nice and crispy. The service was very good and the staff were friendly. They came around often to check on us and refilled our beverages, as well. The noise level was low, so we could enjoy our conversations. A solid place to enjoy a meal. Parking is also easy.

Stop by Jacks after finishing up the Nation Night Run at PayPal on a Saturday night and surprisingly wasn't busy at all. We were seated immediately, but there was a bit of wait for a server. After we order our food the starters came out pretty quick. For the starters we ordered hot wings and Asian wings. Hot wings were flavorful and had just the right amount of sauce. Asian wings sauce was on point and not over powering. Our entrees did take a bit of time to come out. Our server Ronnie was great, nice and friendly. He checked up on us consistently and kept refilling our water without asking. The main entrée Shrimp scampi: My daughter ordered this and it was ok. Surprised it didn't come with any side like bread. Dish could used a bit more flavor and the shrimp weren't peeled Double Smah Burger: My son orders this and he loved it. The Mac or smash sauce that came with it was really good Sunset BLVD Burger: Flavorful and stacked. Comes on a toasted sourdough bread with avocado and bacon. The garlic oregano fries were good, but just had too much lol. There's a spacious out door seating and they have a full bar with tvs to watch a game.

I have been coming here since this location opened. Always great food, clean facility, and terrific service!

Wifey and I on our FriDATE. First time at Jack's and definitely won't be our last!

I live 5 minutes away from here but never knew how AMAZING Jack's is. That is, until tonight! Wifey and I randomly came here this Friday night at 7:30PM and were HIGHLY impressed. You see, Yardhouse in Santana Row used to be our go-to spot until we realized that the wait can be overwhelming (especially during Happy Hour). When we went to Jack's, there was no wait and wifey and I were seated immediately. And speaking of Yardhouse, Jack's reminded us of our former favorite go-to spot, which is a great thing! Service was quick and friendly, food was delicious, and ambience was amazing (TV, bar, comfy booths). We opted for the calamari w/ jalapeños, tutto mare, and smash burger with garlic fries. ALL dishes were absolutely SUBLIME. We are excited to explore the rest of the menu in the very near future, including the breakfast and lunch dishes. In addition, sourdough bread was complimentary and super tasty. An easy 5/5 restaurant. Highly recommend. Kudos to Jack's for providing me and my wife an enjoyable Friday dinner experience. Cheers to many more date nights here!

    MEDITERRANEAN SAMPLER
    Kristine S.

Came here for happy hour and we were satisfied. We were seated at a spacious booth despite only being a party of 2. We got the lamb sliders and It was perfectly cooked and juicy. We added the tzatziki from the Mediterranean sampler and it just elevated the slider. My bf enjoyed the Asian wings, I didn't care for it as much as it was too sweet. I did enjoy the hot wings but it is your typical hot wings. The rest of Mediterranean sampler was great. Service was just ok. Originally asked if the sangria was white wine our server said yes and then brought us the drink. Had I known it was red I would not have gotten it as I'm not a fan of red. Happy hour is anywhere in the restaurant which was nice.

TL;DR: Relaxed eatery with accommodating staff and quick service. Food was good - nothing particularly special. Ordered: - Blackened catfish: One of the better dishes our group ordered. A bit underseasoned but the cook was perfect - Sweet potato fries: pro tip - if you ask nicely, they might be willing to add garlic to the fries :) All-in-all, a relaxed vibe where we got to enjoy each other's company. The food was alright - good, not great. Cheers, Jack's!

Very nice spot. I've been to the one in Newark, but don't remember it being this good. This place hits the spot in terms of comfort food. Drinks are actually really good and staff is really attentive. I had the tuna melt and it was great. Everyone in the party enjoyed the experience. Overall, if you want a good meal, for a fair price then this is a perfect spot for all of that.

Jack of All Trades This locally-owned chain of restaurants now boasts five locations throughout the Bay Area, with this Westgate location being its newest. Jack's is a classic American diner, but with a substantial bar program, and its menu features a big nod to the family's Greek heritage. The Good: * Reservations via the Yelp app or their website * Dog-friendly outdoor dining * Happy Hour Mon - Fri 3 p.m. - 6 p.m. * Full bar with sixteen beers on tap * Great service * Prices are very reasonable * My Lamb Burger was cooked perfectly medium-rare and the flavor was terrific and not gamey at all. Also, their garlic fry upgrade ($1.75) is 100% worth it if you're a vampire hunter, like myself. Just don't expect any kisses from the misses afterwards. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ The Meh: * Zucchini Cakes were just OK. They needed a little more zing to them to make the flavor pop, but I mean, I get it. It's zucchini. How much can you really do with it in the first place? The Ugly: * I'd prefer to see fewer macro and more locally-made microbrews. We have so many great breweries in the Bay that it's a shame for a great local spot like this not to highlight them. Conclusion: We don't always have a hankering for diners, but when we do, this will be our go-to.

This is one of our favorite sites for breakfast & brunch. The atmosphere is welcoming and seating is comfortable. It's spacious and clean inside. In general, their food is good (speaking from breakfast & brunch only) and service is decent. It sometimes gets busy during the weekend and there may be a wait

    Corned Beef Hash
    Eva L.

This review is for their breakfast. Had the Eggs Benedict and the Corned Beef Hash Breakfast plate. The Benedict has good hollandaise sauce; it's the lemony kind. Perfectly poached eggs with the jelly yolk. Asked for sourdough toast instead of hashbrown. The corned beef hash was a bit dry; it's the corned beef meat that's chopped into bits smaller than ground beef. The hashbrown was good, crispy outside. Food came out pretty quickly.

To anyone else it might look like I'm promoting for this place, but I promise I'm not. This morning I went on a hike with my sister in law and niece and we decided to treat ourself with breakfast. Today I've finally tried their breakfast and I was very happy with that decision. I had county fried steak and eggs with hash browns and their side French toast. My sister in law had some egg and hamburger dish with hash browns and instead of toast she had Swedish pancakes. My niece had their waffles with whipped cream. I was very torn between the French toast and country fried steak so when the server told us that we can sub our toast for the French toast and Swedish pancakes we were very pleased. My listen in law said the hamburger was very flavorful and done just right. My country fried steak was wonderful and savory and omg the banana French toast was to die for. My niece was happy with her waffle and juice as well. I still have yet to be disappointed by this place. It's big and well decorated, they have a beautiful outdoor seating area that is pet friendly. It's also cool that they sell their own coffee. If you're looking for a good lunch or breakfast spot to go to and you're near westgate mall, I'd say this place is a definite go to.

Service was fantastic! Everyone was very focused, attentive, and on the ball. I was also impressed with their brunch menu. We don't eat out often for breakfast or brunch as we're just not interested in breakfast items at restaurants. But their brunch menu looked great. It had a fairly large selection. 3 words: Asian Chicken Salad. OMG I know some people don't understand how someone could actually order a salad and enjoy it. I am one of those people! I just love a good salad. But it has to be a GREAT salad to truly rave about it in a review. This salad was so good! The amount of dressing was perfect as well as the seasoning and flavor. The grilled chicken was cooked to perfection. And the crunch from the fried wontons and cashews were the star. I honestly couldn't stop eating it. John took a couple of bites and he agreed. I can't even stop thinking about it. Hint to John: Surprise me one day with this salad. You will get big points. Or this can be our new date trip--farmers market and lunch at Water Tower Kitchen.

It's a trendy, bright restaurant and sports bar with 19 big screens, so there's definitely a fun atmosphere. Restrooms: Decent, clean, and bright. Parking: Free, but limited within the complex. Service: Friendly and efficient, although a little slow. They also offer private event bookings on the second floor, with an open bar, bartender, and private waiter to accommodate the event. For our event, we had a pretty big spread: fruit platter, chicken wings, hummus platter with chickpea salad, marinated heirloom tomatoes, flatbreads and cucumber, pretzels with house honey mustard and beer cheese, tower fries, marinated steak, garlic noodles, mac and cheese buns, Asian chicken salad, garlic flank steak, and oven paprika chicken. The open bar was only $14 per person and included a selection of soda, juice, draft beer, wine, and sparkling wine. Pretty reasonable for a private event!

I thought some dishes were great; the wagyu burger was decadent. Other dishes were not that special. The scallops didn't taste too fresh (likely frozen) and combining them with hummus didn't quite work. The side of bread was practically insulting. $5 for stale table bread was a surprise. Dishes arrived very late; we were nearly forgotten when we tried to order, and then after ordering, we waited 40 minutes between appetizers and the main course. Not because they were cooking it; they just forgot we were there and when they brought out the dishes, the scallops were no longer just-cooked, and the burger had been sitting for a bit. No apology, just an acknowledgment it was late, and no discount (not even on the stale bread). They offered us wine, we said we didn't drink, and they just moved on. I debated a lot about how to review this. It's my personal experience that was disappointing, and I'm glad some reviews are very upbeat. We came for a casual weekday lunch to celebrate our 22nd anniversary after spending the whole morning at a day spa. We sat outside and enjoyed a little bit of everything. The blackened hamachi tataki was refreshing and perfect for a summer lunch. Their take on steak and eggs, deviled eggs topped with Wagyu, is so simple but packs a punch. The Korean fried chicken was crunchy with a tangy sauce and great for sharing. And of course, we had to get the BBB, which is always a must for us! After all that, we shared the cheesesteak sandwich and I honestly thought I was going to tap out, but it wasn't heavy at all. It was so good that we finished the whole thing. Somehow, we even had room for Beth's hand pie, a delicious peach compote that tasted like a churro and peach pie had a baby. The cocktails were also a highlight. I had the Coco Julius, which is dangerously good because it's so smooth, fruity, and refreshing with orange and pineapple. Hubby had the La Ola with strawberries and hibiscus. Within easy walking distance of plenty of parking and a parking garage if you don't find anything on the street nearby . Reservations were easy to make and they had a cute light up Happy Birthday sign waiting on the table! The ambiance was dark but had great ambient lighting . I loved the green velvet booths and decor , which evoked old Hollywood glamour ! Tables were set up in way that you didn't have to maneuver around them to get to the bathroom which was roomy and clean! There was a bat and lounge area to one side and seated dining on the other , Our server Camille was amazing ! So attentive and her timing got delivering each Sri name course was on point . Birthday girl asked for suggestions a fruity house cocktail. Instead of just rattling off the fruity drinks, she asked questions to personalize a suggestion and described each drink! The food was fresh and presented nicely. One of my friends and I decided to each order the poke tacos . I loved them! Even though it was probably an appetizer is the right amount for a light meal. My friends ordered the Korean spice chicken and pan seared salmon and they both complimented their meal. I can't remember the all the names-of the drinks except for the Miami Vice the birthday girl ordered . We also got her one that was served lit on fire ! I w myself was happy that they served Ballast Point Sculpin on draft! The lava cake was served with strawberries and delicious! After our first visit last night, I think it's safe to say it is probably the best Happy Hour offering in the SF South Bay. Good quality, good value, great service and nice club/lounge ambiance. Here's what we shared food-wise... * HH Garlic Noodles -- This didn't quite meet my expectation. Described as a "perfectly cooked pasta tossed in rich garlic butter", what we got was more like a soft udon type noodle with a rather starchy garlic sauce. The taste was definitely very garlicky, but the dish could have been much better with an al dente pasta tossed in an actual garlic butter or olive oil. * HH Wagyu Smash Burger -- This was yum! Great flavor, nicely grilled served on a toasted soft brioche bun. ($15 on HH versus $32 witha side of fries on the Dinner Menu :o) * HH Hamachi Crudo -- This was superb! Fresh generous slices of yellowtail topped with sliced lemon, jalapeno, tobiko and microgreens, perfectly matched with Ponzu sauce. ($12 on HH for 4 pieces versus $23 for 5 pieces on the Dinner menu) * HH Crab Cakes -- 2 medium sized blue crab cakes with diced mango and spicy aioli. Pretty decent for $14. * HH Crispy Brussels Sprouts -- Good standard fare. For drinks, we enjoyed... * HH Weather Pinot Noir -- Our server, Mikayla, said it was her favorite wine on the HH menu. It was very nice. * HH Mango Deck -- Reposado, Jalapeno syrup, lime and mango puree with a 151 rum flambee. Great drink if you like sweet, sour and spicy... and it comes with a show as the 151 rum is lit. Will definitely return. Would love to try the HH Grand Seafood Tower with oysters, yellowtail and salmon sashimi, shrimp and lobster ($65 on HH) which we saw another table order. Looks like a great place for a larger party celebration too.

The food is SO good, and the staff makes you feel right at home. They're super friendly, cheerful, and welcoming! Kudos to Antonio, our guy, and Bento, the bartender! The Jumbo Crab Benedict is absolutely delicious, and the Sweet Potato Shishito Hash is so darn good! We'll definitely be coming back! According to Antonio, their Chilaquiles with Carnitas is something we must come back and try. So now we have another reason to return! Amazing food, amazing staff--but be warned: it's loud and packed! Still, totally pricey $86 breakfast for two but worth it!

And... very clean... staff were constantly wiping down stuff #3 - I had the CARNITAS BENE (Scratch made Carnitas, fresh avocado and pickled onion stacked on our freshly baked English muffin. Topped with two poached medium eggs* and our scratch made pico de gallo. Served with duck fat potatoes) - super flavorful carnitas, perfectly poached egg. Not the traditional bene... no hollandaise sauce.. it is topped with pico de gallo instead. All in all ... great breakfast. Would I go back? Yes. Side note: one just opened in downtown SJ. I will need to check that on out too sometime.

The service was excellent and the food superb. We started with the coconut shrimp in a peanut sauce - fantastic. The chocolate old fashions were out of this world. For $2 more, we split the ONE pound hamburger. 1/2 is more than enough for an adult. The few fries were seasoned with a spicy coating that made them tasty & tangy. We finished off the afternoon with a chocolate lava cake & vanilla ice cream. Though we didn't have any whole cuts of meat (to vouch for the tenderness), this visit was very pleasant & satisfying.
