Did not have a great experience here. We ordered a medium well steak, and it was all red and bloody, definitely on the rarer side. My least favorite part was the service. Our server did not care at all. She was very uninterested, barely checked in on us. She was a reason why we felt discouraged to send out food back. The worst part was that we couldn't tip accordingly. They only gave us the option of 18, 20, and 22%. I guess you could also leave no tip, but to me, that's messed up. The experience was not good enough to be that expensive too. The environment is really nice though. It's a very pretty restaurant, but what does that matter if the experience doesn't match. read more

Overall Experience: 6.4/10 The restaurant is in the back separated from the Westgate mall. The restaurant has a modern interior and has many TV's for what ever sport or event is happening. The tables are spaced out very nicely and is very comfy to be seated. The service was amazing, as they constantly check in and makes sure you're doing alright. The Food: I have been here a couple of times, and have taken out once but the food has always been somewhat of a let down each of the times. I've had the lamb burger, but the burger itself was cooked a too much compared to what was ordered, and it was missing a lot of seasoning. It lacked the salt, and was not super juicy. The toppings on the burger complements it nicely but wasn't anything special. The lamb burger just tasted too gamey. With it, I got a side of potato salad which I thought had great flavor and good texture. I have also taken out their breakfast burrito, but the burrito was not flavorful again. The burrito was also a lot smaller than expected, and the eggs did not have the necessary salt or seasonings, as well as the potatoes. I have also came here for breakfast and tried their omelet, which was decent, but nothing special. It had the fixings and decent in size, so I would recommend those breakfast items the most. Overall: I really like the space and where it is located, but the food has been a miss most the times I have been there which is disappointing. But if you're looking for somewhere that is comfy to sit and watch the games I would tell you this is an option to go to. read more

I have had breakfast and lunch here previously, and it was so good. I decided to hold my dad's family birthday dinner here. I was so disappointed in the way our steaks cane out. My son and I ordered ours "medium" and they cane out with one end cooked rare and the other skinnier end waaaaay beyond well done. The server did offer to have our steaks recooked, but everyone else was finishing up their fish(which I heard was great), so we declined. There other large parties in the restaurant tonight so it was VERY loud and difficult to hold a conversation, but that was ok. I have to say our server was amazing! Also, their garlic fry upgrade ($1.75) is 100% worth it if you're a vampire hunter, like myself. Just don't expect any kisses from the misses afterwards. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ The Meh: * Zucchini Cakes were just OK. They needed a little more zing to them to make the flavor pop, but I mean, I get it. It's zucchini. How much can you really do with it in the first place? The Ugly: * I'd prefer to see fewer macro and more locally-made microbrews. We have so many great breweries in the Bay that it's a shame for a great local spot like this not to highlight them. This review is for their breakfast. Had the Eggs Benedict and the Corned Beef Hash Breakfast plate. The Benedict has good hollandaise sauce; it's the lemony kind. Perfectly poached eggs with the jelly yolk. Asked for sourdough toast instead of hashbrown. This is my second time at Jack's and, again, delicious food and great service. The Manager checked on us to ensure we were happy and we assured him we were. The pita was warm and soft and the tzatziki and hummus were especially good. Personally am not a fan of lamb but I got the lamb burger (3.5/5) to try and it was fine. It's definitely not hitting the burger craving but it was cooked well. The sweet potatoes fries (5/5) were soooo good and I'd definitely get those again! The Italian Mac (4/5) was delicious too! Cheesy and the Italian sausage was flavorful. I would want to try out their other Macs in the future. I tried my bf's chicken gyro and I thought it was good. Chicken was seasoned pretty well and the sauce was tasty. Only feedback is the service could be better. They didn't provide enough utensils and napkins so we had to keep waiting for the server to get to us. Went in during the morning rush, but me and my relatives still got a seat. The ambiance was great and so was the service. Joe and Sean were great servers and they both helped us order even though our orders were kind of complicated, shout-out to them. The food came in very big portions so my party ended up sharing a lot of the food. The food itself was amazing, very flavorful and tasty. I've been to Jack's a few times with some friends. As always, the food is lovely and the customer service is great. It was busy when we came around this time, which is good to see. When I got there, my friends were already seated and were just about to order some appetizers, so it was great timing. We ended up trying the garlic fries and housemade chips. Both were wonderful. I got the sole with veggies and mashed potatoes - it was great, but did need a little more seasoning. It was enough for dinner and lunch the next day! My friends got various dishes. We also tried a couple of desserts - the berry cheesecake and tuxedo cake with a scoop of ice cream. Delicious. Jack's is a great place to catch up with some friends, family or go on a date. Everything is lively, but you can still talk to your group without yelling. While the food was great - the drinks could be improved upon. Two of our drinks (we got the same thing) tasted mostly like carbonated water (which I don't like, but my friend does) while another drink had a salt rim instead of the sugar rim advertised. My pasta was good. Sausage and noodles tasted homemade. Loved the spice kick. Last time we came we had the meatloaf sandwich, Italian Mac n cheese, and classic Mac n cheese. Good place , lots of choices. A crowd pleaser. Burgers were just ok but the Mac n cheese is the bomb. read more

We also got the pita bread with hummus and also a side of sweet potato fries. The fries and the pita bread weren't very hot (pita bread didn't taste like it was fresh out the oven like all the other times I've been here), but everything came out together at the same time, so that was good. They were slammed so we were lucky to get in and I recommend to get a reservation. They have a lot of nice comfy booths, which I love. It's nice to get away from the hustle and bustle of overly crowded downtown Campbell or Willow Glen. I need to start venturing out into this direction. Esquivel (sp.?) was our waiter and he was very attentive and very nice. It's refreshing to have a good old-fashioned service. He apologized when he came to refill our waters, which was appreciated. After seeing this in the neighborhood for so long, we finally had the chance to try and we're so glad we did. The French dip is amazing. It's such a rare menu item for most restaurants nowadays that we were so glad it was delicious. The shrimp scampi pasta was okay, and it was probably more of a personal preference than the restaurant's fault (I'm a little sensitive to oily food and this dish seemed to have a bit more than I'm used to with shrimp scampi pasta). This definitely doesn't change that we want to come back for the French Dip and to try some other things on the menu. We were also wanting to try some of the happy hour appetizers with some more people in our party. Service was decent! All staff members were quite attentive, and even a manager had willingly checked in with us which we appreciated. This has been our 'go to' restaurant for the past 5 years. Their service has always been lackluster, ie having to ask several times to get cutlery, napkins, or a refill on water. But the food had always been good. Today all the wheels fell off sadly. Our Dr. friend brought a cake and insisted on paying for the extra charge herself. Hostess could not accommodate this and so so offended when she left cask to pay for this that she sent the manager to the table to berate all of us. Then the other manager came to berate us, saying "nobody wants to serve your table." Later when drinks were delivered the sever dumped the entire tray of drinks onto the table and onto me. I went to the restroom with several towels to dry off. The table next to us agreed that this was intentional, wrapped up their meal quickly and left. Staff then turned the patio heater that we requested off back on. So I ate my meal in wet clothes, sweating from the heater. No charges were deducted from the meal. Both my wife's food and drink order were wrong order but we dared not complain again in fear of another dousing. The lone bright spot was our server who at least laughed when I said I would NOT be having the soup. I would like to thank him for getting this restaurant the 1 star rating. To management who will hopefully review this- I am in favor of your team sticking up for each other. Publicly berating patrons and dumping a tray of drinks on them should not be tolerated. Fully charging guests who have had their experience ruined by iced drinks is not acceptable, and the reason this review is reaching the light of day. read more

I originally wanted to come here for their beers. I ended up ordering a lot more. Firstly, we ordered a round of cocktails. The Mango Fuego was okay. It was tasty but overall very sweet. The Fresa Picante was pretty good. The other cocktail we tried was the Cucumber Cocktail, that was delicious and our favorite. Their cocktails although tasty aren't very strong and are made very lightly. Cocktails aside. Their Clam spaghetti was VERY tasty and delicious. We replaced it with Alfredo sauce and it came out very creamy and overall, delicious. Shoutout to the cook, they did a wonderful job with it. Their clam chowder was also delicious and a great appetizer. The service was great. Our waiter, Esteban was very efficient, kind and welcoming. He's an excellent waiter and we hope to have him in the future on our next visit. The atmosphere is also very beautiful, calm and relaxing. I loved the outdoor area especially with the fairy lights and the nice cool air. I'll definitely be coming back again and strongly recommend this place. I dined at Jack's this past weekend while I was in town visiting family. I have eaten at the other locations in San Mateo and Newark, but this newer location is just as special. I ordered the caesar salad with the addition of bay shrimp and the avgolemono soup. I always make sure to get this delicious, chickeny, lemony fresh and creamy soup because it is truly outstanding. It's comforting but light at the same time. The salad was perfectly crisp with lots of delicious, sweet bay shrimp. Even the croutons were the right amount of crisp without being break-your-teeth level of crunch. The service was pretty quick around noon, which was much better than the other Jack's locations we've been to. In terms of cleanliness, of course the restaurant was spotless and cozy. I would definitely go back next time I'm in the area. read more

Jack's restaurant and bar hit all three, but it wouldn't have been possible without our waiter, Benjamin. He was super friendly, patient and all his recommendations hit the nail on the head. The only problem was the manager's attitude towards my cousin, he came from Mexico for vacation and he showed his Mexican ID and he told him he needed a California ID to get a drink. The ID he showed him clearly says he was born in 1990 but apparently he couldn't get a drink because he needed a Californian ID. Two years later and this new review now gets FIVE STARS for sure! I've visited Jack's a few times since my original review and I can honestly say this place truly understands customer service. On Saturday I hosted my daughter's Bridal Shower for 20 of our family and friends. I started the process with Nouha and after a few weeks she handed me off to Christina who had been out. Both were fantastic to work with. We held the shower on the larger of the two patios and the space was perfect! I opted for one long table, a dessert table, a gift and photo display table and the Buffett. The ceiling fans were key as this particular day was miserably hot and muggy. The service team was beyond incredible. I brought a ton of my own decor for the tables as well S desserts and they helped me unload my car, place the table decor exactly as I showed them and together we transformed the raw space into a beautiful event celebrating my daughter. The food was great and we had lots left over which we served for dinner later that night. Here's what I ordered: Mediterranean platter - yummy! Spanakopita - my moms favorite Grilled Chicken skewers - a little dry but flavorful! Rice - fluffy and light Steamed Veggies - perfectly cooked Water glasses to always full and the wine never ran out. Guests all complimented the food and the space which was so nice to hear. The ONLY thing I might say is the floor could use a really good scrubbing. You could tell this space gets used a lot and food gets spilled often so there were obvious buildup and sticky patches. But certainly not a huge deal, Hosting the Shower her was such a great choice. Zero regrets and thankful for the Jack's team who worked hard to make this event so special! read more

Came 2nd time for breakfast during weekend at 8:30am. There were ample seatings. We sat at a booth good for probably 5 people. Order burritos and omelette. Coffees were bottomless and drinkable, but made me wish for an espresso drink. Services were friendly and attentive. Foods were generously portioned, carried some Mexican influence: salsa, seasoning, some ingredients. They were tasty and filling. We were pretty much left alone for a very long breakfast that lasted till near lunch hour when the crowd started to show. Given the general line-up on breakfast/brunch restaurants, this place ranked solidly in the middle, in terms of food quality, menu creativity, interior, and services. I made a special trip to Jack's because I had been told that they had THE best French dip sandwich on the planet. Boy, was I disappointed. Sure, there was plenty of meat, but it had no flavor (it actually needed salt). The most disappointing part was the meat itself. It was like mushy, shredded beef. It was kinda disgusting. I had lunch at Jack's today. Every time I passed by, I thought, I've got to stop by someday. Today I finally did! As soon as I walked in, I noticed how open and spacious it felt. The place is quite large, with a clean, updated interior almost like a stylish modern diner. We ordered the fried chicken steak, clam spaghetti and coffee. The food was good overall. The fried chicken steak was tasty I really liked it. The pasta was a bit too salty for me, but the coffee was excellent, probably my favorite part of the meal. The service was okay. Our server wasn't rude, but he didn't seem very attentive either, it was hard to find him when we needed something. Overall, it was a nice experience nothing fancy, but enjoyable. We are new to the area and wanted to celebrate our belated anniversary. I need gluten free options and this place came up with high ratings and lots of Gluten Free choices. I ordered an Ivan's Margarita and the husband ordered a Mai Tai. My second drink was a Raspberry Lemon Drop. Of the three, I liked the lemon drop best but all three were worth it. We ordered the shrimp cocktail and it was delightful. The cocktail sauce was zesty, not sweet, and it had vinegar or a vinaigrette all over it. The hearts of palm were a surprising delight. Definitely recommended. For dinner, I got a NY Steak with mashed potatoes and mixed veggies. The husband got chicken and broccoli Alfredo. I think the potatoes were boxed - they had an after taste that I didn't care for. The steak was cooked right (RARE!!) but unexceptional. The best part were the mixed veggies. It was a decent dinner but not enough to entice me to order it again. Maybe I would get potato wedges next time. The husband enjoyed the Alfredo - good sauce, the chicken wasn't noticeably dry, and he ate every bite. I really like the service and atmosphere. I felt welcomed and my requests (extra butter!) were honored. We will come again and I will explore the menu and find my favorite parts. read more

They also gave high chair options as well for the bench and standalone . We chose this restaurant because of their breakfast options and the fact that you can make a reservation . They have coffee options as well like Irish whisky and cappuccino. We ordered cappuccinos and black coffee . They do come by to ask if you want more black coffee refills .
