Wifey and I on our FriDATE. First time at Jack's and definitely won't be our last!
    San P.

I live 5 minutes away from here but never knew how AMAZING Jack's is. That is, until tonight! Wifey and I randomly came here this Friday night at 7:30PM and were HIGHLY impressed. You see, Yardhouse in Santana Row used to be our go-to spot until we realized that the wait can be overwhelming (especially during Happy Hour). When we went to Jack's, there was no wait and wifey and I were seated immediately. And speaking of Yardhouse, Jack's reminded us of our former favorite go-to spot, which is a great thing! Service was quick and friendly, food was delicious, and ambience was amazing (TV, bar, comfy booths). We opted for the calamari w/ jalapeños, tutto mare, and smash burger with garlic fries. ALL dishes were absolutely SUBLIME. We are excited to explore the rest of the menu in the very near future, including the breakfast and lunch dishes. In addition, sourdough bread was complimentary and super tasty. An easy 5/5 restaurant. Highly recommend. Kudos to Jack's for providing me and my wife an enjoyable Friday dinner experience. Cheers to many more date nights here!

TL;DR: Relaxed eatery with accommodating staff and quick service. Food was good - nothing particularly special. Ordered: - Blackened catfish: One of the better dishes our group ordered. A bit underseasoned but the cook was perfect - Sweet potato fries: pro tip - if you ask nicely, they might be willing to add garlic to the fries :) All-in-all, a relaxed vibe where we got to enjoy each other's company. The food was alright - good, not great. Cheers, Jack's!

I absolutely loved this place! It was the second time I've been here but the first time we just sat at the bar. When we went in we were greeted right away and offered indoor and outdoor seating, we opted for indoor.they have a very open floor seating concept, so if you're looking g for things to be on the more privet side maybe ask for a booth along the window or seating near the bar. I think the decor and amenities were great, and although they had an open floor concept the dining area and bar area were split nicely. I had the fried chicken sandwich and my roommate had the French drip. Both of us were very satisfied with the food! No complaints at all. The only disappointment I had was that there were no utensils or napkins at our table when seated. I assumed by the time we got our drinks they would be given to us. I ordered an ice coffee that I couldn't drink until I asked for a straw and it wasn't u til we got our food and mentioned we didn't have any Dino g wear and I needed a knife that some was given to us. The server did apologize and she was pretty on top of things considering how busy they were, so I'll give her that but it was kind of annoying. It was kind of weird considering they had a staff member checking the floor, helping the servers with drinks and checking in with customer, which is great if they have silverware on the table lol. All in all I'd definitely give this place a thumbs up and plan on coming back. I hear the breakfast is really good.

Very nice spot. I've been to the one in Newark, but don't remember it being this good. This place hits the spot in terms of comfort food. Drinks are actually really good and staff is really attentive. I had the tuna melt and it was great. Everyone in the party enjoyed the experience. Overall, if you want a good meal, for a fair price then this is a perfect spot for all of that.

Jack of All Trades This locally-owned chain of restaurants now boasts five locations throughout the Bay Area, with this Westgate location being its newest. Jack's is a classic American diner, but with a substantial bar program, and its menu features a big nod to the family's Greek heritage. The Good: * Reservations via the Yelp app or their website * Dog-friendly outdoor dining * Happy Hour Mon - Fri 3 p.m. - 6 p.m. * Full bar with sixteen beers on tap * Great service * Prices are very reasonable * My Lamb Burger was cooked perfectly medium-rare and the flavor was terrific and not gamey at all. Also, their garlic fry upgrade ($1.75) is 100% worth it if you're a vampire hunter, like myself. Just don't expect any kisses from the misses afterwards. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ The Meh: * Zucchini Cakes were just OK. They needed a little more zing to them to make the flavor pop, but I mean, I get it. It's zucchini. How much can you really do with it in the first place? The Ugly: * I'd prefer to see fewer macro and more locally-made microbrews. We have so many great breweries in the Bay that it's a shame for a great local spot like this not to highlight them. Conclusion: We don't always have a hankering for diners, but when we do, this will be our go-to.

This is one of our favorite sites for breakfast & brunch. The atmosphere is welcoming and seating is comfortable. It's spacious and clean inside. In general, their food is good (speaking from breakfast & brunch only) and service is decent. It sometimes gets busy during the weekend and there may be a wait

    Corned Beef Hash

This review is for their breakfast. Had the Eggs Benedict and the Corned Beef Hash Breakfast plate. The Benedict has good hollandaise sauce; it's the lemony kind. Perfectly poached eggs with the jelly yolk. Asked for sourdough toast instead of hashbrown. The corned beef hash was a bit dry; it's the corned beef meat that's chopped into bits smaller than ground beef. The hashbrown was good, crispy outside. Food came out pretty quickly.

I have had breakfast and lunch here previously, and it was so good. I decided to hold my dad's family birthday dinner here. I was so disappointed in the way our steaks cane out. My son and I ordered ours "medium" and they cane out with one end cooked rare and the other skinnier end waaaaay beyond well done. The server did offer to have our steaks recooked, but everyone else was finishing up their fish(which I heard was great), so we declined. There other large parties in the restaurant tonight so it was VERY loud and difficult to hold a conversation, but that was ok. I have to say our server was amazing! Very attentive, polite and friendly. Should we try to go back and try ordering a steak a second time?

I think it's really good. The food is fresh, and the portions are generous. Try it! Valued

Great service! Jenn, Christina, and team were very helpful. My friend and I had an amazing time at Happy Hour.

Great service! Jenn, Christina, and team were friendly. Our water was always filled. Food: starters are flavorful. The ambiance is very family oriented.

Lamb Burger w/ sweet potato fries

Came in on a Saturday and the wait wasn't too bad. The service could use some improvement but the food here was solid though! The Mediterranean sampler (4/5) was really great! The pita was warm and soft and the tzatziki and hummus were especially good. Personally am not a fan of lamb but I got the lamb burger (3.5/5) to try and it was fine. It's definitely not hitting the burger craving but it was cooked well. The sweet potatoes fries (5/5) were soooo good and I'd definitely get those again! The Italian Mac (4/5) was delicious too! Cheesy and the Italian sausage was flavorful. I would want to try out their other Macs in the future. I tried my bf's chicken gyro and I thought it was good. Chicken was seasoned pretty well and the sauce was tasty. Only feedback is the service could be better. They didn't provide enough utensils and napkins so we had to keep waiting for the server to get to us. The starter also took a while to arrive, and our meals did not arrive at the same time so one person had to wait way longer than the rest of the people. Everything just felt disorganized. I'd come back on a slower day and hopefully service is better then.

    LAMB BURGER

Overall Experience: 6.4/10 The restaurant is in the back separated from the Westgate mall. The restaurant has a modern interior and has many TV's for what ever sport or event is happening. The tables are spaced out very nicely and is very comfy to be seated. The service was amazing, as they constantly check in and makes sure you're doing alright. The Food: I have been here a couple of times, and have taken out once but the food has always been somewhat of a let down each of the times. I've had the lamb burger, but the burger itself was cooked a too much compared to what was ordered, and it was missing a lot of seasoning. It lacked the salt, and was not super juicy. The toppings on the burger complements it nicely but wasn't anything special. The lamb burger just tasted too gamey. With it, I got a side of potato salad which I thought had great flavor and good texture. I have also taken out their breakfast burrito, but the burrito was not flavorful again. The burrito was also a lot smaller than expected, and the eggs did not have the necessary salt or seasonings, as well as the potatoes. I have also came here for breakfast and tried their omelet, which was decent, but nothing special. It had the fixings and decent in size, so I would recommend those breakfast items the most. Overall: I really like the space and where it is located, but the food has been a miss most the times I have been there which is disappointing. But if you're looking for somewhere that is comfy to sit and watch the games I would tell you this is an option to go to.

I thought some dishes were great; the wagyu burger was decadent. Other dishes were not that special. The scallops didn't taste too fresh (likely frozen) and combining them with hummus didn't quite work. The side of bread was practically insulting. $5 for stale table bread was a surprise. Dishes arrived very late; we were nearly forgotten when we tried to order, and then after ordering, we waited 40 minutes between appetizers and the main course. Not because they were cooking it; they just forgot we were there and when they brought out the dishes, the scallops were no longer just-cooked, and the burger had been sitting for a bit. No apology, just an acknowledgment it was late, and no discount (not even on the stale bread). They offered us wine, we said we didn't drink, and they just moved on. I debated a lot about how to review this. It's my personal experience that was disappointing, and I'm glad some reviews are very upbeat. But there's a handful of reviews noting frustrating delays... and that needs to be worked on.

Just never got around to working a review before. Went early on a Saturday evening recently and was surprised to not have to wait. We split a Bibb lettuce salad that was simple, refreshing and perfect. A tiny pea fritter was the very definition of a small bite, and while it wasn't what I expected, it was crisp and tender. Grilled artichoke was one of the best I have ever had. (Just wish they had been explicit on the menu that it was a half a grilled artichoke). Cocktails were up to their usual high standard -- rye Manhattan for the BF and clarified milk punch for me. I don't get out much these days and I rarely drink alcohol, but is $20 a lot for a cocktail? Or is that normal now? They were great though. BF got the ribeye with morels, which was perfectly cooked and unbelievably tender. I had the burger, which was more exciting than it sounds, dressed with a wild combo of veggies, cheese and bacon while still managing to be harmonious and fresh tasting. Side of fries were crisp and tasty, though not as perfectly hot as I would ideally wish. Because the burger was late coming out, or server (Bernardo I think?) comped us an amazing little dish of vanilla soft serve ice cream with olive oil and sea salt, along with the butterscotch pudding that we ordered. The pudding didn't have the strong butterscotch flavor that I hoped for, but the vanilla ice cream stole the dessert show. OCK isn't a place I can afford often, but I still really like it. I appreciate the creativity of the dishes, the quality ingredients, and the bar. And the old-school shopping center vibe of the Pruneyard is low key festive and garden-like. The interior of the restaurant is kind of standard-industrial modern, but nicely so. Oh, and their glassware is super nice.

Fried calamari - if you enjoy bigger calamari rings with thin crispy breading, this place does it well! Comes with 1 red sauce and their green tangy aioli. The portions were pretty good on this dish as well 3. Mac and cheese truffle bites - these were huge! I was expecting them to be as small as top golf's balls are haha but it comes with 3 huge balls. The pasta noodle itself was cooked to perfection, al dente and not super mushy. I was pleasantly impressed with this one and it came with the same green aioli sauce 4. Tomahawk steak - $7 each, honestly this is a confusing one. I was expecting steak bites similar to how a regular carne asada taco is, but it came in one huge chunk of meat, which wasn't even the best quality or cooked well. Final Thoughts: 4.20/5.0…read more Contrary to many other opinions, I personally really like brunch. It really is more for the vibes and spending time with my friends and family versus the food sometimes. For some reason, this place has always been on my list of to-go brunch places, but I've just never had the chance to go here. After our matcha run, my friend and I decided to go here for brunch. It was around a 45 minute wait today. On their Yelp, appears to be quite the quaint place to to get food and relax. Will definitely be a 4 star for me. Food: Jumbo Crab Bene with seasonal fruit: 4.0/5 This is their fresh lump crab with sliced avocado, whole grain mustard and poached eggs stacked on lightly toasted English muffins, topped with scratch made Hollandaise sauce and garnished with locally sourced microgreens. This is served with either house potatoes or seasonal fruits. The lump crab is actually fresh crab I believe. There are some pieces of the shell that were still in there. I'm honestly not even mad because that's a pretty big indicator that it's the fresh crab meat picked out. The egg is nicely poached with a runny yolk. Hollandaise sauce is quite nice and light. The Dijon mustard was quite strong for me and did overwhelm some of the other flavors on the plate. It does add a nice flavor, but occasionally, it was too much. For the English muffin, it was quite thick, so it felt kind of dry. It's noted to be slightly toasted, but its somewhat hard to tell with the mustard, crab meat, and poached egg on top, which are mainly wet items. Avocado is perfectly ripe. I'm not an avocado person, but this one did it just right for me. The fruits came with blackberries, blueberries, strawberries, apples, cantaloupe, and honeydew. Very refreshing and needed after the savory foods. Philly Steak Sandwich with garlic fries: 4.0/5 This sandwich has grilled steak with peppers, onions, and mushrooms topped with provolone cheese on a toasted baguette with mayo and a light teriyaki drizzle. Will come with either a side of house salad or garlic fries. I really liked how they caramelized the onions and peppers inside of this. There's that additional sweetness from it that works well with the steak and cheese. Very tender meat. The bread also seemed kind of big and just almost dry too. Not too big of a concern given the amount of filling that they give. My friend choose the garlic fries and those were amazing. The cut is just right and the crisp on the outside is just so good. You can taste the garlic, but I could do with even more garlic to it. --------- Quality: Fresh Something I really like is that they use real crab in their jumbo crab bene. You can actually feel the tiny pieces of the shell in it, which usually means its fresh. The food did take a second to come out, but both were piping hot. My friends onions and veggies were quite caramelized, which is nice. Brings out a lot of the flavor component in the sandwich. The fries were actually so good too. I wanted the side of garli fries, but it was convenient that his came with it. Super crispy, nice size, flavor is good. May need a little more fresh garlic, but overall, really good. Price: Reasonable Prices seem reasonable for what they give. Initially, it does lean more on the expensive side, but their portion sizes are larger than your average brunch place. Prices will range from between $18 to $24, with a few outliers. Service: Very sweet workers Very nice service here. Everyone was sweet, greeted us, and checked on us. Our food did take a little longer than some others around us. For us, it was around a 25-30 minute wait after ordering our food. Even the table next to us that were seated after got their food first. The food did come out fresh, so I'm not really complaining. They did let us know and give us little updates about our wait and food though. Ambiance: Classic Brunch Spot The space is nice and looks slightly cramped inside. It was just my friend and I and they gave us a seat right in the corner next to the window. Honestly, probably the best spot for me and the person who seated us also noted that it was his favorite spot in the house. I didn't see much beyond from what was seen by the door. The space looks fairly small, but fit a decent amount of tables with walking space in between still. Always love the open kitchen. It's fun to watch what happens behind the scenes. Location/Parking: Large space It's located right on Saratoga Avenue. There is a Lucky grocery store here, so there is a lot of parking around. We really didn't have any concerns finding a space at all.
