Came to Mikayla's Cafe in Santa Clara and I'm glad I did. I started with the Brain Fuel avocado shake. Smooth, fresh, perfectly blended. Not overly sweet. Clean energy and super refreshing. I also had a black coffee which was solid and straightforward. Good balance, not bitter, and paired perfectly with everything on the table. For food I had the Caramel Crumble Toast Crunch and the Chicken and Biscuits Benedict with a side of hash browns. Everything came out on big plates and the portions were generous. I shared both dishes with my partner, so I did not eat two full plates by myself. That said, even one portion alone would have filled me up. I am really full. The Chicken and Biscuits Benedict was flavorful but not over seasoned. The biscuit was soft, the chicken was done right, and the sauce brought it all together. The hash browns were crispy and hit the spot. The Caramel Crumble Toast Crunch was indulgent without being overwhelming. I did get full before the food was finished. It was that good. I had to mop it up. Ambience was great. Friendly staff. When I arrived there was a table available. By the time I left around 10 30 AM it was completely full with no open tables, so that seems to be when it starts getting busy. Overall great experience. In town again for work and this is a favorite of a colleague. Close to Levi Stadium and is convenient. In a small strip mall with other restaurants. Plenty of parking in the morning. Small dining area that is cozy and comfy. Waitress was nice and provided quick, attentive service. Big menu (with some pictures of particular dishes) with lots of options. Their sweet menu items look incredible but not for the faint of heart. Serious sugar high! I had the light breakfast sandwich which is meatless, two eggs, spinach, tomato, and chipotle mayo on a croissant. Comes with a choice of side and I chose the hash browns. Came to the cafe on a random Tuesday and was pleasantly surprised that such a local spot could deliver such amazing quality food. Both pancakes and the scramble were superb. The hashbrowns perfectly golden which is funnily enough hard to get at cafe/diner nowadays. The jalapeño's in the scramble were also delicious with plenty of flavor. Will definitely be returning with the great service as well. My only critique is the ambience is cute and quaint, but to perhaps raise the volume on the music. Came to try brunch at Mikayla's and it was a good experience! It's a small plaza but not busy so we could easily find parking. Service was quick and kind! The pricing is pretty standard. I got the spicy crab cakes which was delicious and surprisingly pretty spicy. My boyfriend got the hot mama scramble and it was good. I wish there was more even balance of everything but there was a lot of sausage. The potatoes were yummy, but the hashbrowns really stole the show. I sat at the bar while I waited for my food. Service was friendly as well The corn beef breakfast meal is my favorite. I got it with scrambled eggs and hash browns and it was beyond perfect. The eggs were fluffy and the hash browns had the best crust. Sour dough toast was delish as well, however I would like two pieces not just one. I also got a pancake and chose bacon and chocolate chips as toppings. It came out as one large pancake with the bacon on top and mini chocolate chips in a container. It was delicious as well. The only thing that was disappointing was the Pulled Pork sandwhich, sadly the buns were the main part of the sandwhich, I had to remove most of the buns and pick it apart because of the Lack of actual pork. Lovely little spot for breakfast or brunch. We stopped there while in town for Metallica weekend!!!! Service was friendly and prompt, outdoor seating was comfy and shaded. The staff was attentive to umbrella positions and making sure you're comfortable. The prices were reasonable. I wish I had paid attention to their coffee options before ordering a regular cup of coffee but I was happy that they offered Oatmilk and other non-dairy options. We had the crepes, South Bay style... hella good! The toasted coconut was the perfect addition. We also had the chicken and waffle, the waffle was perfect. The chicken was good, but more Asian style in the batter so included a little cornstarch to keep the batter crispy and the chicken tender - I just don't like the texture it gives the meat - personal issue lol We will definitely return next time we are in town! I was in town for the Metallica concerts and staying at the Aloft Santa Clara. I was looking for a great spot for breakfast and hit a home-run with my decision to eat at Mikayla's Café on Tasman Drive. I knew I must have pick the right spot when I arrive and found a line outside waiting for seating. That's always a great sign you've picked a popular place. I went inside and put my name on the wait list and in about 15 minutes, I was seated on a Satruday morning. My biggest decision was selecting what I wanted to eat. The menu is packed with so many delectable breakfast items. I went with the Hot Mama signature scramble and it was super tasty and a large portion. Loved the spicy Cajun sausage, with onions, bell peppers and mushrooms. I saw lots of diners ordering drinks served in a large glass mug and handle and said I got to get one of those. The iced coffee was delish. Super efficient and friendly service. Can't wait to come back on Sunday for round #2. read more

I've been going to this place for a while mainly because there really aren't many other options nearby, giving it second chance after second chance despite the mediocre food and "fine dining" prices. But today they really overdid themselves. The place was completely empty when I came in for breakfast. Empty. Somehow, out of all the available tables, the manager picked the one right next to me to sit with her friend. They spent the entire time talking loudly, completely oblivious to the fact that a customer was sitting there trying to enjoy breakfast. And when I say loud, I mean I could still hear them through my headphones, over the TV that's always blasting for no reason even though nobody watches it, and over the radio they blast as well. At this point the food being mediocre almost feels beside the point. The whole experience just feels weirdly inconsiderate. I'm not going to tolerate this kind of disrespect toward customers -- and neither should you. read more

First, the customer service was extremely unprofessional. I came in for a pickup order and was told "they're making it" without the employee even asking for my name or confirming the order. When I followed up because the app showed the order as ready, she responded with "I don't know." No effort to check or communicate. just attitude. When I asked if she could check, she went to the back visibly irritated, talking to another employee with an attitude and making faces the entire time. It was unprofessional and honestly unnecessary. Then to make matters worse, when we opened the food, there was a bug inside one of the containers. At that point, no one in our group felt comfortable eating anything from the order. I will be BACK! We walked in and got a table right away, really good service everyone was super nice. The coconut cream coffee alone was one of the best coffees I've ever had. My husband got the vanilla bean latte and he loved it. It actually tasted like real vanilla not just the syrups everywhere else uses. We got the Benedict, I got the supreme burrito. Also really good food, my daughter got the happy face pancake. I think my burrito was supposed to come with sour cream and it didn't--I could totally be wrong but besides that everything was delicious, and we will be back 100%. My friends and I dropped in for brunch the day of a recent convention. There weren't any other options in the area by transit that were open at the time so we thought to try this place. There were a few tables out front and it was a bit packed inside. Looking at the prices I decided to just share part of the dishes with my friends and just eat after our event. We propped up my phone, facetiming our friend who was at work and could not join us. We flipped through the menu to show her when a waiter came by and asked us, "Uhh... are you recording?". We set the phone down but if the waiter reads this, I apologize if we made you feel uncomfortable. I ordered a milkshake, which was pretty good. The straw had a hole in it so I just covered it in order to make it function. Unfortunately it was in a glass and I couldn't take it to-go. My friend ordered an Ultimate Fried Chicken. The fries were extremely good and hot. My other friend ordered a Fitness Trainer and then asked the waiter, "Wait no. Can you take that out for a Morning Burger instead?" and she nodded. When the food came out, it turns out they kept the Fitness Trainer in our bill. We didn't say anything because, let's be honest, the café could not use the dish for another person's order and we didn't want to be "those types of people". So I just ate it instead-- "a sign I should eat something I guess," I told my friends. The avocado was good and the sausage was alright. The egg whites were runny and at some parts straight liquidy. And perhaps that's how they're supposed to be but it was not like depicted in the pictures thus was a textural nightmare to me. Considering that this is the Bay Area and it's right next to the Santa Clara Convention Center, there's no doubt that the prices would be a bit marked up. Though, $80 for those 3 dishes and a milkshake was a little more egregious than we had expected. The rating isn't due to this-- we ordered knowing the pricing. The portion is huge, depending what you get. They were out of mostly everything when we came in, but they close at 3:00PM, so that didn't really bother us. I got the honey mustard chicken sandwich and my friend got the morning burger. The sandwich was huge but barely any honey mustard on it. I couldn't finish the portion. My friend didn't report anything about the morning burger so I guess it wasn't that great either. The service was spotty, but the staff was nice in general. I wouldn't mind going again to try something else. But I'd also choose a different option if available. Food is okay, not great or spectacular. Staff is nice. Wouldn't return by choice. Ordered food delivery from here because they had good reviews overall. However the food did not meet my expectations. Ordered a porkys revenge burrito, tater tot bombs, and Arnold Palmer. The burrito had no flavor at all and there were no jalepenos and no sour cream as well as the salsa it came with tasted like watered tomatoes (no flavor as well). Also, the burrito was so small, def not worth the price. The tater tot bombs were way smaller than pictured and also had no flavor, just tasted like a bland potatoes. The ranch was supposed to be jalepeno ranch but it was just regular ranch. And lastly, the Arnold Palmer was terrible, not sweet at all. I had to add my own lemonade to make it taste better. I had a good experience with the ordering process and the person who helped me explained that the kiosk didn't accommodate turkey as an option to enter so he had to put bacon. I tipped 15% and appreciated that he brought my items to me while I was sitting at a booth waiting for my takeout order as the cafe was pretty empty this morning. When I opened my items at home, there was no turkey at all, and it was bacon. The eggs on the benedicts were SOUR and I tried this several times because I was shocked and worried about the safety of this food item. The English muffin was tough and chewy and the crab cakes were mushy. The hash browns were okay. The croissant bread tasted like it was from Costco. The lemon blended drink was tasteless and I liked the peach soda but it was overfilled so it kept spilling everywhere. I really hope that the restaurant reaches out to me for a full refund given that I did not receive my order as promised and I also have concerns about the safety of the food. read more
