Absolutely unacceptable experience. 3 out of 4 plates served to our table were chipped, which is not only careless but honestly dangerous. When we pointed it out, the waiter casually admitted they already knew about the issue and were "waiting for new plates to arrive." If you KNOW your plates are damaged, why are you still serving food on them? They offered to replace the meals, but we were already halfway through eating and had our 3-month-old baby with us, so sitting there longer was not practical. We asked for some form of compensation considering the situation, but both the waitress and the manager flat out refused. The manager's attitude was dismissive and unapologetic, as if serving food on broken dishes was completely normal. When I said I didn't feel comfortable paying full price for such poor and unsafe service, the waitress threatened to call the cops. Imagine threatening customers instead of taking responsibility for your own restaurant's negligence. In the end we were forced to pay the full bill for a terrible experience. Horrible customer service, zero accountability, and complete disregard for customer safety. Will never return and would strongly advise others to avoid this place unless you enjoy eating off broken plates and being treated disrespectfully.
My friends and I had a great experience at Mikayla's cafe. We went early on a Saturday morning and there was already a fair amount of people in there, but we were seated right away. We got some cheesy tater tots bombs, a side of ham, some chicken fried chicken, Belgian waffle, sausages, bacon, end eggs! I also tried the Creme Brulee iced cream coffee. Everything was really good. The chicken fried chicken was made with chicken thigh, so that was good! Juicy and crispy. The gravy that came with it was really good to. We ordered the hash browns crispy and they were yummy! Definitely family friendly environment, and the staff that was working was great. We will definitely be back.
Great food and experience here as a group of 5 visited to have Brunch. Food was great; except for Hash-browns were not fully cooked. Price is slightly higher for the most part. ALERT- they automatically change 15% tip for group 5+ and don't tell you along with 3% credit card fees, as we ended up with adding tip in addition.
*Visited with a group of 3 Came here around lunch time, and immediately loved the vibes of the restaurant. It was welcoming and had plenty of seating. The staff was very kind and attentive, and was very patient with us as we were deciding on what to order. OKAY THE FOOD: * Avo-Egg-BLT: pretty yummy, and PACKED. I gotten it with hashbrowns for the included side and I love a good CRISPY hashbrown (and it wasn't super oily!) * food portions: HUGE and reasonably priced! Definitely come with a hungry tummy cause these plates were pretty filling.
Loveeee the food here. Super good! Got the granny's hash and hubby got the chicken waffle Benedict? Oh and I also got their fresh orange juice! It was delicious. Service was good. Busy but server got our order pretty quickly. Ambience is very cozy and great for groups. Definitely has that brekkie vibe.
Mikayla's Cafe is our go-to spot for brunch, and for good reason: great food, excellent service, and a genuinely welcoming atmosphere. My favorite dish is the Santa Clara Scramble with scrambled eggs, spinach, tomatoes, melted cheese, mushrooms, and sausage. I always pair it with extra-crispy hash browns (a special request on my part) because that extra crunch is everything. I always come here hungry, and the portions never disappoint. This location near the airport is spacious and perfect for larger groups we've brought anywhere from six to eight friends and family, and it's always a great experience. Everything consistently tastes good, which is why we keep coming back. Highly recommended for brunch lovers!
I came on a Thursday before 8 and it was not packed at all. We were immediately seated and service was quick. Our waitress checked on us frequently and made great recommendations. I got the Fitness Trainer plate with a side of hash browns, and the hash browns were soooo crispy and perfect! My whole table got the Tiramisu Creamer Coffee & we could've gotten 2 more rounds of coffee (it was that good!). Overall, this was a great spot for a quick breakfast, we were in an out in an hour and the food was delicious.
Safe choice for a quick breakfast. I ordered the triple double; I got two scrambled eggs, ham, and the berry waffle, as well as the tiramisu coffee, which is pretty strong. Would prefer a normal coffee since this one was pretty thick with the cream on top.. The food was good and ready quick. Service was amazing. I don't believe there's an assigned server so multiple people come in to check and see how everything is or if you need anything. They offer indoor and outdoor seating, both are a good option. The atmosphere was pleasant, the restaurant is clean, and the music was fantastic.
I absolutely hate writing negative reviews but I truly don't think anyone should waste their time coming here. Now I understand why it was dead at 12pm on a Wednesday while being surrounded by so many companies. To start: The food was mediocre at best and nothing really stood out to us. The real dealbreaker, though, was the customer service. The staff seemed completely uninterested and inattentive from the moment we arrived. We were left waiting far too long just to be greeted, and throughout the meal, it felt like we were a bother rather than paying customers. We had to ask for water twice and finally got it AFTER we received our food. We asked two people for straws and finally got them... To make matters worse, we found a piece of thread--yes, an actual thread, likely from someone's clothing--in one of our dishes. I recommend going anywhere else!!
Got breakfast on a Saturday morning at Mikayla's with a couple friends. There was plenty of seating and had some cartoons playing on the TVs. We were seated promptly, and I started off with a hot latte. It was very milky and didn't have as much of a coffee taste as I would like it to have, so I'd probably get a different drink next time. Spicy Crab Cakes Benedict: The crab cakes were great, the hollandaise had a nice kick, and the hashbrowns were crispy and yummy! Would recommend trying. Overall food and service were good, would come back again.
Mikayla's Cafe is a standalone place close to Lafayette and Aldo. The parking lot is small, though, there is street parking if needed. This their second location. They offer both outdoor and indoor seating. The floor service was ok. One server seemed to be working the entire restaurant, though when the food came out for other customers, that's the time you saw that there were actually other workers! So not sure if they were helping the kitchen or just in the back waiting on the food. Our food came out nice and hot. My friend and I ordered the... Granny's Hash: Corned beef hash, plus two eggs any style, breakfast potatoes and toast. Includes two farm-fresh eggs any style, breakfast potatoes or hash browns and choice of toast (3.5/5). Ah...canned corned beef hash. I should have asked if canned or freshly-made. The hash browns were crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. I asked for the eggs to be soft poached, though they were more medium-hard. But nonetheless, a good standard breakfast for me. I think my friend also enjoyed his Granny's Hash. My wife ordered the... Bourbon Bacon Jam Chicken: Grilled chicken breast, house made sweet and spicy bacon jam with melted Cheddar. (Bacon jam made with hickory smoked bacon, real maple syrup, chipotle onions, Kentucky bourbon and French roast coffee). All house chicken sandwiches are served on a sweet Hawaiian roll bun and served with fries (3.5/5). She enjoyed her dish, the chicken was juicy, though a bit disappointed in the bacon jam. Another friend ordered the specialty, Spicy Crab Cake Benedict: meaty, crispy crab cakes, topped with our spicy hollandaise sauce. Made with two poached farm-fresh eggs atop a toasted English muffin. Served with home fried potatoes or hash browns (3.5/5). I asked my friend if he liked his dish and he said, "It's was ok." Overall, and good place to have brunch.

Unfortunately, the food we tried here was not very good. They serve mostly diner classics with a few California twists- avocado toast, pico de gallo. The eggs and hash brown's were too oily and needed salt, the sauce on the crab benny was grainy. The dishes completely missed the mark, they were below average for sure. At their price point, this is a place I would go for a treat not just an everyday basic meal. The coffee was good, service was nice, food came out fairly quickly and the restaurant is beautiful and spacious. read more

The real deal... THE best homestyle restaurant meal I've had since leaving the south over 10 years ago. My country fried steak was perfectly cooked & flavored and the gravy was exactly right. The hash browns were top notch, grilled crunchy outside & not at all greasy or oily. The wheat toast was exactly as simple as it should be & delicious with butter & strawberry jam. My scrambled eggs left a little to be desired but there's hot sauce on the table to fix that right up. My lunch neighbor had the Ulitmate Fried Chicken Sandwich (pic) and he likes it so much gets it every time he eats here. And the coffee? The coffee comes from Cafe Du Monde in New Orleans. The plates in my pics look small but in fact are large plates & might be too much food for some people. The food & service is great but the prices are a bit stiff for lunchtime however the comfort food would be right at home in any Memphis diner. read more

Pretty chill place with a great vibe, lots of artificial plants to add some green, really open dining. The crab cake Benedict was pretty tasty and the hash browns were perfectly crispy. The service was friendly if a little slow. read more

Nice little breakfast spot in Santa Clara, there are 2 of them, both are close to Levi's Stadium. Both are decent breakfast spots. This time we had the Fitness Trainer (on that health kick) and the Eggs Benny. The staff was friendly and kept our coffee and waters flowing. The food came out quickly and was delicious. Stopping by Mikayla's Cafe at Aldo today for lunch. I ordered everything omelet with hashbrowns, and it was amazing. Not my first time here, in fact, so when I come back, I expect the same taste. And yes, Mikayla's Cafe never makes me feel disappointed. The service is still awesome and quick. I like it. The size of the dish is a little big for me, so I only finished half of mine. The price seems a little higher than other American restaurants, but it is worth it. You get exactly what you pay for. Overall, good experience. 9/10 read more

Hoping for a chill breakfast with friends, I found this spot on Google. It was everything I was hoping for as the menu was extensive and the service was quick. The portions were also surprisingly big and each item had good flavor. This place is pretty run of the mill, but it will definitely satisfy your cravings for classic breakfast foods at a great value. read more

Dry pancakes! Worst than McDonald's and I haven't had their pancakes since I was a child and I remember them being more moist than this. Even with syrup and butter, they taste like they've sat out for hours. read more

Mikayla's cafe more than impressed me. A little off the grid breakfast spot. They have a wide variety on the menu including, waffles, pancakes, etc. The staff was very very and accommodating. Small and simple, delicious and worth a visit. read more
Ventured into this breakfast cafe on a sunny Saturday. Clean and open area with outside seating. It took quite a while to wait on me after sitting. I was surprised they didn't have any skim or nonfat milk for espressos, so I ended up just getting their coffee, which was average. I ordered the veggie Benedict with hash browns. The eggs were cooked perfectly. The hash browns were crispy. But the muffin was cold, and should have been toasted or warmed. Pretty good Benedict altogether. read more

Average diner experience, will tide you over if you're looking for breakfast, but nothing that stands out. Parking is easy! Plenty of spaces that surround the building so you can find it with ease. Service is pretty straightforward and basic. My server didn't greet me with a warm welcome or wish me a fond farewell; it's not necessary but the small mannerism you build impact a customer's experience and for mine it was very much so lacking. The food was ok! I had the avocado toast, Cajun links, Thai tea, and coffee. Nothing that stood out from what they had, but ok. The design of the restaurant is pretty basic, I will say they keep the doors open which brings in an elegant breeze which is great. They have a bar and high top chairs. I'd tried this place again only if it was close to my stay, along the way, but I would not go out of my way to try it again. read more

Very crowded cafe but expected for a weekend there was a challenge just trying to find who was going to take our name down for a table. It appears multiple servers, we're adding guest names down which was causing confusion on many who wanted to dine.. but overlooking that part, the food was great service, well seasoned and made to order. The restaurant was very busy they never came back to ask us for refills on our drinks or if we needed anything other than dropping off the check. Overall we enjoyed our meal I can overlook the fact that they didn't tend to us as much because our food experience was what we looked forward to. read more
Situated right on a nice corner pocket next to a bunch of industrial parks, it'd be easy to write off Mikayla's as just another cafe, but I'd suggest at least giving them an honest whirl. While the service could stand to be improved, the food is pretty darn good and it was a pretty time-efficient experience. Moderately sized private parking lot, but they didn't seem too busy on a Saturday morning so shouldn't be too hard to find a spot. Service was less attentive, but they'll at least get food to you in good time. We didn't get checked in on at all and minimal interaction despite table service. Wasn't too busy of a time, they just seemed more interested in socializing than service. Couldn't grab their attention to get plates for sharing so stopped trying, but we did get a water refill eventually. We did get in and out in good time, so I've certainly had far worse. Breakfast wrap Cajun sausage - 5/5 Solid mildly hot sausage wrap with a simple mild tomato salsa. Very good iteration of the breakfast wrap. It's compact and cleanly wrapped with a good distribution of smooth cheesiness and potato with nice little bits of crisp from the pan frying, interspersed with salty sausage with a lovely snap on the skin. Comes together really well and as a mid-sized portion. Chicken & Gravy biscuit benedict - 5/5 Blew my expectations out of the water as it turns out to be a rather unique take on the benedict. It's a gravy ride the whole way down with a very crispy bready chicken patty, which while it wasn't juicy the texture matched the biscuit quite well with a drier but flavorful fry profile. Throw a soft egg on top and a well pan-fried biscuit and you have a pretty darn unique benedict with the flowing mushroom gravy. Croissant French toast + South Bay Style 4/5 Surpsingly well balanced between the nutella and banana with a bit of crunchy bits from the coconut shavings, while being pretty smooth. The french toast part was the slightly weaker part since it was a bit dry and could do with a bit more fluffiness; didn't quite get the whole croissant thing out of it, but the south-bay style was certainly quite elaborate on top and evened it out methinks. This got brought out first though so if you're treating it like "dessert" then I'd be clear in specifying to avoid having it just sit. read more

When I think brunch, my mind automatically goes to Mikayla's crab cake Benedict. This place is an underrated gem. We almost never have to wait for a table, even during prime weekend brunch times! Service is friendly, though sometimes a bit slow, and the food is consistently delicious. I always order the spicy crab cake Benedict with hash browns. The crab cakes are flavorful and crispy on the outside, creamy on this inside. They pair perfectly with the spicy hollandaise, which is more savory than a standard hollandaise and only has a mild kick. The eggs are well poached with a runny yolk and the hash browns are consistently crunchy all the way through. The chicken and waffles is also pretty good, with super crunchy and moist chicken. My friends have tried the ultimate grilled cheese and smokehouse burger, but found both to be a bit too rich and salty. I highly recommend sticking with the spicy crab cake Benedicts! read more
Came in here for breakfast after a early morning job walk, 3 of us and got a table fairly fast. The server came over with water for everyone with in second after we sat down. Took our order and the food came out soon after. I got the Corn Beef Hash and Eggs & a side of Bacon. Both were very, bacon was crispy. Eggs cook perfectly over easy!!! Really delicious breakfast spot. I met a couple of friends here with their dog and it was nice that they have a dog-friendly patio. The food was good, I got the smokehouse burger which was really tasty. It was actually a little hard to choose as they have a really huge menu. The iced-coffee was also a standout - really amazing and glad I ordered it. Everything was served quickly and very fresh. For a Sunday brunch it was not too full, just a few tables occupied so we were seated right away. Pros: -- Great Quantity! Plates were definitely generously full -- Hash browns were cooked crispy and to perfection -- Nice meaty bacon -- Both servers helping were very nice and friendly, a young male and female -- Real butter served with toast Cons: -- Metal creamer jug on table held "non-dairy" creamer....so weird that this is their default for the coffee? I asked for regular cream or half and half, and was told they don't carry it! I've literally never seen this at any diner in my life ...the young man could not offer me a decent alternative.
