Ok I really wanted to like it. Super cute setting. Great waitress. The house special nachos were meh. Single layer served on their house chips. Good idea if it was $6. Like something you would buy at a fair. The pretzel looked so good, but was deep fried and tasted like fried dough. The cheese sausage tasted like nothing. Just not impressed. read more

If you have not been to St. John's Tavern in Crystal River then you should hurry there! The environment is friendly from the moment you walk in, but that's not all. The building is quaint, classy, and more importantly it is spotless. I can't say enough about the food either. It is not your average bar with food to match...the food is really good and you can tell they put a lot of time into making each meal, which comes out pretty quick. On some nights, you can also walk into their Martini Bar, which is attached and right next door, for the best martini you will ever have (hands down). What's even more, they have entertainment! My husband and I went there the other night to have a drink on our way home. The bartender working was some rude older man. As soon as we had a seat, we were told we had to leave. We weren't drunk, wasn't slurring our words, we weren't loud. We actually just got done having dinner at another establishment. We have been there before and spent a considerable amount of money there. The place always has poor service, never get acknowledged, you have to really strive to get someone's attention. You wait forever to get a drink, the food is priced way to high for the quality of it. Will never go there again, whoever reads this there are way better places to visit. We first were told that this place had great food. Let's just say 30% of our food was OK. Our son had the smash burger and he thought it was pretty good. I had the Reuben and was disappointed from the first bite. The corned beef was dry and the sauerkraut had no flavor. The rye bread looked like rye bread but rated like wheat bread. My wife went with the chicken salad wrap and from the first bite all she could taste was onions and no chicken. The chips were lacking in flavor as well. The worst part of our dining experience is that when we arrived they had us sit outside and told us that when a table opened up they would bring us in to stay warm. That did not happen and we noticed that other people who arrived after we did were seated inside and we were forgotten about. Would I eat here again? Not anytime in the near future that's for sure. read more

During the Tampa Bay lightning hockey playoffs they had no problem taking our money. Spent hundreds of dollars during the playoffs. Go to the bar today and can barely get my but on a seat and old man behind the bar refused to serve my wife and I. If you like warm beer and bad service then this is right up your alley. We will never go back. I recommend that no one goes there ever again. There are way better establishments than this with much better service!! And we let everyone know about the rude poor service!! Visited 3 Sisters Springs and decided to stop in for lunch. It seems like a super nice neighborhood hangout, I noticed the Lady behind the bar knew many of the customers by name when they entered. Very friendly atmosphere highly recommend. Loved their pretzel! read more

Never again! $15 for a dry pastrami sandwich with fries? $15 for a bland chicken salad wrap with fries on "special"? Absolutely ridiculous! Price no where near the poor quality of the food! Terrible service, sat at bar and had to stop the bartender to ask for: a menu, a drink, to order food, a refill, and finally for the check. This place is new for our little town and I have only been once and it was decent. The drinks were priced well and the happy hour was nice. The food was a little overpriced and nothing special. Not a big selection, but it is a bar. I had a rueben sandwich, which was priced at $10.99 and it came with a bag of chips and pickle. It was alright. Not very big, nor did it have a lot of meat on it. My SO had the Smashburger, which was extremely tiny and mostly bread. He upgraded to fries for an extra $2. (The fries were very tasty) I had a glass of wine with my meal that was wonderful. We had a great waitress, and if I remember correctly her name was Chelsea. She was very attentive and brought us everything we needed in a timely manner. The place itself is beautiful, has brick walls and exposed trusses in the ceiling which makes the small place fell much bigger. Very clean and would definitely go back. They had a great selection of beer, wine and liquor to choose from. What a great addition to downtown Crystal River! I am looking forward to going back soon and trying other things on the menu. read more

Great place! We were heading to another restaurant when my mom saw the sign on the side of the building. So we decided to try a new place. It was a great choice! Our waiter was Sharon, she was very attentive and friendly!We shared the chili nachos, and then the margherita flatbread with balsamic reduction! WOW!!! We even got cheesecake for dessert! We were at the festival at King's Bay, and the food there was not impressive. We took a walk down the road and found St. John's Tavern, which had outdoor seating. The setting was beautiful and our server, Vicki was excellent. We shared the baked brie and St. John's roast beef sandwich. The special frozen Brandy Alexander was very tasty and my frozen watermelon Margarita was quite refreshing. We recommended them to the next table. Tried this place a few times ,the service is absolutely horrible. You have to literally beg to get attention there. The old man, I believe his name is Al, is the rudest SOB on the planet. The way he disrespected my wife and I . Said he would not serve us, but he had no problem taking our money during the hockey playoff games! So we went next door to the KC wine and koffee bar . Their service was absolutely amazing. The owner greeted us very promptly and was courteous. The bar staff was attentive. The food and drinks were amazing. I highly recommend going there, and as far as the St. John's tavern ,it's amazing that they're still in business, considering that rude obnoxious a****** behind the bar. And the funny thing is anytime they get a bad report you would think that they would try to reach out to their customers and correct the issues but they don't. They must be proud of bad business. So save yourselves time and money and go to KC's , you definitely won't be disappointed. read more

I had heard of St. Johns for a few years and did not think it would be a place I would enjoy, as I am not much of a drinker. Decided to finally go and was absolutely floored. The food was great, the atmosphere was cozy and even the variety of games being played were varied. We got nachos, the way they make their nachos was different but in a good way. It was homemade potato chips with meat, cheese and spices. The meat was a bit sweet, which off set the spice of the salsa, cheese was both the nacho cheese and melted cheese. When you tell the bartender you'd like to finish listening to the music you paid for and you've been a paying customer enjoying your experience he threw a $5 on the table and called me "legally drunk" and closing 15 minutes prior to closing time so no music. "Take it up with the owner." My waitress agreed with me as to his flat out rudeness. I like the establishment but no need to go there when old, rude Al is tending bar. read more
