The worst StL Bread Co I've ever had. We got a giftcard, this is how we ended up here. 2 soups, 1 sammy, 1 salad took more than 30 min. There was a long line for orders inside, and another longer line for pickup. We found out someone grabbed our order and left. My Cobb salad was gross. It smelled funny and the dressing has some old sour taste. I wasn't able to eat it, made me want to throw up. Chicken noodle soup was almost cold and had a bad bitter taste. This location is next to my dentist and chiropractor's office so I frequent it often. It seems like the coffees are always out. Today when I went in, they didn't have dark roast at all, didn't even offer it. I guess they were totally out of that. The light roast was completely empty, so I went to the hazelnut. They didn't have any lids out. So my quick run in and grab a cup of coffee took a while. I belong to the strip club and it used to be so quick just to run in and grab a cup of coffee and be on your way. Now you have to go looking for your cup behind the counter and most the time the coffees are empty. I did make sure that I told the lady at the counter so the next person hopefully we'll have everything that they need. I was in here last week and someone had spilled an entire beverage in front of the food pick up counter. I told the gentleman behind the counter and he didn't seem too concerned. After I filled up my coffee and was ready to leave. I peaked over there and there still wasn't anyone cleaning it up. Definitely a hazard and someone could easily have slipped. read more

The last time I was at this location on big Ben and Clayton I ordered a bacon egg and cheese on a croissant. This was the worst bread co I had ever been in my entire life. This is the one in the middle of Clayton mo near Clayton and big bend blvd. I stood in line for 10 minutes. The man in front of me could not get four things that he wanted. I could not get one thing that I wanted. There were dirty tables when I went to sit down. I waited another 14 min minutes for my food. I was looking for a plate in food delivery center. I had said when ordering that I wanted to eat in. I've never been to panera before( i'm 19 years old), and wasn't told where my food would be handed out. I just assumed because they asked for my name and didn't say anything else, they would call me once my food was ready. I was trying to be respectful and waited for half an hour, i wasn't in a rush. For those of you that are unfamiliar with Panera they started in the St. Louis area. To this day they continue to use their original mane sake of St. Louis bread. However, it's Panera's branding, menu etc. This location is nearby where my son now lives At Washington University. It has a small surface lot that can be an issue when busy. I had an order for five people to go. It was very hectic inside on a late weekend afternoon. After standing in line my order was placed. Staff was too stressed in my opinion to provide great counter service. The order took around 30 minutes. The food was average per my party, but the wait time drops them under par. 2.5 rounding down. read more

The customer service here is horrific. The first cashier was so unapproachable at initial contact I refused to order with her. The second young lady was much more pleasant & helpful. Food preparers in back super unprofessional...horse play visible from the dining room first & foremost. After recieving an improperly made salad I advised the young man who delivered it to my table; he states he'd have another one prepared...2 minutes later I saw him walk out the door. I waited a few more minutes to see if another employee was handling the issue. After a few more minutes and my soup beginning to get cold I walked up to inquire. I was spoken to nonchalantly, given the third degree & told my Greek salad didn't come with tomato but instead a tomato blend. My complaint was that it LACKED tomatoes. With that being said WHICHEVER version is to be used; apparently the salad prepper neglected to add either. Fix the damn salad so I can finally enjoy my meal without further delay. Manager brought me a new salad (very nice gentleman) I told him my soup had unfortunately turned cold during the debacle and he brought a fresh bowl over with apologies. Overall the black bean soup & hot tea were good. Greek salad filled with iceberg end pieces that are essentially fillers for a healthy salad...I hated it. You can order from the kiosk, order from the front where the cashiers, or you can sit down at the table in order from your phone. Panera Bread CONSISTENTLY gives less and less food (SAME PRICE, same info on the menu) when we order meals for pickup! The crowning glory was when we arrived home with ONLY LETTUCE for which we paid for an $8 plus tax half Greek salad! The other salad had some dressing on the bottom of the little container & for that price, I had to use my own dressing. The Tuna salad sandwich had the usual dollop of tuna salad on one half, on the other half of the sandwich (bread) it appeared they had wiped the ladle but forgot to put the tuna salad. This is SO usual. We order OFTEN as they are so close, and we are too tired to drive far....but it has reached a point that we are angry at being ripped off on a regular basis. read more

To whom this may concern: I'm appalled after waiting almost an hour for my food. After 30 minutes I just wanted a refund which they said they weren't able to provide at the time, I would have to wait 2 days. These was some tuner guy that when i discussed what was happening he went to the back, only to comeback with pre sliced bread saying i would have to continue to wait. Then when asked for the manager they sent someone else out completely. He was very nonchalant about the situation. This is the last money I have, and he laughed in my face when I said I didn't have anymore money to purchase food somewhere else. So I'm poor manager i cursed at him for laughing at my situation. Not impressed with this new location. I never visited the one across the street, so I cannot compare the two, but this one disappointed me. Yes, it is ultra modern, but it stark and modular. It is cold in design and the staff is cold as well. The quality of food and beverage still meet the high standards I expect from SLBC. I also, liked what I'd call the Progress Board, which allows you to watch the status of your order. If you watch the board, you'll know your order is ready before they call your name out. Unlike Kay, I am so glad they did not put a drive-thru at this location. I am anti drive-thru at any business. So when I see a new one that opts out of that service, I am a happy customer and in this case a happy stockholder. I'll be back and hopefully the staff will be adjusted to the new digs and have a better attitude. read more

If I could give this location zero stars, I would. During the beginning of the pandemic I noticed they had curbside so I decided to give it a try and got my usual, Chipotle Chicken Avocado sandwich through the app. The first thing I noticed when I got home was the chicken. It used to be cubed but now it's shredded like that canned chicken crap. I assume it is because they had to cut overhead costs to keep the cafe running and MAYBE chicken type was changed to save money. Fast forward to the night of November 19. I ordered for my family this time for a curbside order. Again through the app. My sister decided to go with the new flatbread and the rest of us our usual. They handed me the bag and I quickly glanced into the huge bag to see if everything was there and it seemed to be. I noticed a thin box on the side of the bag but didn't think much of it. Got home and it was the pizza on its side. Mind you this was a huge bag so that pizza should of been laid at the bottom of the bag to keep it flat and not meshed together in the box because its on its side. And on top of it they gave me what looked like 2 red delicious apples and a Mediterranean salad instead of the fuji apple salad. They even had red check marks in the receipt like they really checked for accuracy which they did not. I immediately called the store and had to listen to 5 mins of robo voice before being given the options to speak to a manager. A woman answers the phone with a baby and very low speaking voice. I tell her they gave me a Mediterranean salad and not the fuji apple chicken salad and this woman keeps repeating "So you are missing a Mediterranean salad? What do you want us to do for you?". It took everything in my soul and every particle in my body to not go off on her. So through my gritted teeth and in a calm voice I said "No I ordered TWO fuji chicken apple salads and you all gave me only ONE fuji chicken apple salad and a Mediterranean salad which I did not order. I DID NOT ORDER A MEDITERRANEAN SALAD. I want the fuji chicken apple salad I ordered." She says in her low baby voice again while talking to someone else in the background, "um okay let me see" and got radio silent. I grab my keys, my receipt and salad and head up there while waiting for this woman to come back. She gets back on the line offers to replace my salad for the correct one and asked what pastry item I wanted. I tell her a chocolate chip cookie and tell her I'm 5 mins away. I go inside and the line is damn near out the door for orders. I go to the pastry counter and tell them who I am and asked if I needed to wait in that long-line for my replacement. The guy at the counter consults with a woman who appears to be the baby talking lady I was on the phone with. He confirms with the woman if the bag on the counter was mine, affirms the contents in the bag and apologizes for my trouble. I said "thanks" and took my salad home. I was hangry before I went back up. At this point I lost my appetite. I ate my over toasted now cold Chipotle Chicken Sandwich and put the salad in the fridge. The next day I pop open my Fuji Apple Chicken Salad that I went through hell to get only to find the longest fucking piece of black hair in it. I am NEVER returning to this location unless they undergo new management. read more

The worst part was the yogurt parfait that was two days past its use -by date. The customer service is mediocre at best. Something really needs to be done about this bread co. They finally got some decent staff, but no one seems to know what the hell is going on. So many people were asking them about their orders and their only response was "I don't know". They take too many online orders. I arrived at 11:30 thinking I'd beat the rush and the list was so long it didn't fit on the board. I ordered a smoothie and soup and it took 45 mins. My smoothie was essentially juice by the time I got it. Not to mention the parking lot is incredibly small. This will be my first one star review EVER. And sadly, it's at a restaurant I usually love. This particular Bread Company location needs to have some serious employee training or else needs to hire some new managers. I live near this bread co, so I'll list out some of my grievances. 1. The one time I ordered delivery from this location, they forgot my coffee and took about 30 minutes to bring it (I live down the street) 2. The employees are constantly on their phones. This morning, I had to wait for an employee to finish up her texts halfway through my order. 3. Orders are consistently wrong. I've had extra cream cheeses added to my order. I've gotten a latte instead of a mocha. The list goes on... 4. They are incredibly slow. I always spend more time waiting on my food than eating. 5. Lastly, the location is just dirty. Food on the floor, tables not wiped up, etc. I hope the company does something about this location, otherwise I won't be back.
