They have an interesting setup with Brasa next door. More clear signs for the system would be great because we weren't sure if the seating was combined or how it worked. I tried the Up South egg sandwich, which was really good. I don't normally like pimento cheese, but the flavors were amazing together. The lavender latte sadly didn't have any flavor and I wouldn't get coffee there again. The annoyed vibes from the staff that day were a little off putting and they forgot half our order for the group.

Small stop cafe to try some pastries and coffee Disappointed with the service- they weren't really paying attention to anyone there Forgot my mocha and the drip coffee tasted bad as they only had light roast available The danishes were just average- also expensive for the quality Breakfast sandwiches were pretty good though so saving grace

Roasted potatoes - also really greasy

Maybe it's because I got it to go, but this was disappointing, especially since Alma restaurant is so delicious. The mushroom egg frittata was very pretty to look at, but it was totally off. Very greasy, flavorless, and (maybe because I got an edge piece) really dry. There was very little egg, mostly greasy bread. The tomato sauce that it came with did brighten the flavor a lot. Same with the potatoes. They look like they'll be delicious, but also greasy and flavorless. They became more and more oily as it cooled down, so it's possible these items would taste fine if eating it there. But it does not work for takeout.

Ok - It feels wild to be doing a third review update, but the Mpls St. Paul Magazine released their top sandwiches, which included Alma Provision's Breakfast Sandwich. I went and got one and WOW. I'm fighting the urge to go get another a couple of days later and I think I'm going to lose that battle. PSA: They recommend "the breakfast sandwich," but AP actually has multiple types. I'm pretty sure by the description provided they meant the Up South breakfast sandwich. The biscuit still has the baking soda/powdery flavor a little bit but the pimento cheese and sweet peppers tasted so good that I didn't mind much. I'd give this sandwich, paired with their dirty chai, five stars, but the cafe as a whole is still probably 4-4.5 stars.

Adorable little cafe and bakery just east of Lake Harriet. With a small ordering space, a few tables that they share with Brasa next door, and an assortment of pantry and home good items, Alma Provisions is the perfect place to grab coffee and a treat. I read about their egg sandwich with pimento cheese and went to check it out the next weekend. Called the Up South, this delightful breakfast sandwich consists of fluffy, scrambled eggs, creamy, cheddar-y pimento cheese, and sautéed sweet peppers and onions that get smushed between a fresh buttermilk biscuit. Really tasty! They have other food items refrigerated by the counter, but I would suggest ordering something that is made fresh. Cute stop in Southwest Mpls!

The inside is really small but they do let you go sit in Brasa next door, so that's a nice addition.

Be…read moreaware that you will be seated with a group of 6 and you'll have to work with them to decide who does what tasks, since not everyone will get to try making everything. I attended solo but luckily really liked the group I was assigned to. We wanted everyone to work on things they enjoy and allowed everyone to try some parts of the important tasks (making pasta and pastry dough). Your enjoyment might really depend on what your group is like. You can buy wine and beer to drink while you take the class, and those were reasonably priced I thought! $9 for a glass of wine and I think $8 for beer. The class was chaotic since we were making three courses and things needed to be done at different times, but the chaos felt like how it really is in a kitchen making multi course menus, so that didn't bother me! The assistants were great and helped us stay on track and helped if we were struggling with anything. I can't say I learned much from the class (which is why I only gave 4 stars), but I sure had a lot of fun!

Pure magic. The chocolate almond croissant is next level--flaky, buttery, and packed with rich, decadent flavor. The vibe & service here is warm and inviting, with the irresistible aroma of freshly baked bread and pastries filling the air. Whether you're grabbing a coffee, treating yourself to a pastry, or diving into one of their soups or salads, this place nails it every time. If you're in the area, do yourself a favor and stop by. Cooks Bellecour is an absolute gem!

This place was practically across the street, so we decided to take a breather from the hectic festivites and come here. Immediately we were greeted with cooling A/C and much-needed silence. Cool and quiet... the perfect escape. The place was decked out for pride with lots of colorful flags representing many of the wonderful ways to be queer. Definitely get bonus points for their allyship. I got a bottled Coca-Cola and my hubbie got a simple cup of brewed coffee. They had a reasonably-sized menu with even some smoothies and such listed, as well as a display of bakery items. A chalkboard showed their three seasonal beverages, which looked fun (though not my cup of tea). One of the employees was very helpful when I requested a cup of ice to go with my Coke; I needed the extra cool down after all the time we'd spent in the sun in the heat! We sat at one of the tables and appreciated leaning back into the chairs with back support for several minutes. Whew! Perked us back up nicely. There isn't a ton of space/lots of places to sit and I was kind of shocked the place wasn't flooded with queers, lol. There was quite the line for the bathroom though, according to my husband. The decor is nice and neat. I think I spotted a small selection of board games you could break out if desired too, which is fun.

The coffee shop is small but fun, and there's a nice cozy seating area outside I'd come back for. The coffee was good (though not in my top 10), with some unique flavors. I got the breve capp and it did taste a bit scorched. My daughter's LAB iced coffee was delicious. Service friendly and prompt. Bathroom a bit dirty but shared with other businesses.
