To the outside, this might look like just another bar. But to regulars and newbies, this is actually a hidden gem in Spring Lake Heights! They do have excellent bar food such as flatbreads, wings, and large pretzels, but we were impressed with their stuffed shrimp entree, drunken clams, and more. We heard the short rib sliders were a favorite, so the staff listened to their patrons and created a whole short rib burger to be added to the menu. I really like when a restaurant deeply takes into consideration the needs and wants of their patrons! It says a lot about how they operate the business. Please end your meal with the chocolate chip cookie skillet, it was so chocolatey, soft and decadent. It's a must. The service was phenomenal and very prompt. We also liked the many tvs and different seating options there, as well as the cozy intimate bar atmosphere. Definitely hope to come back soon next time I'm in the area! read more

The food was delicious! I ordered a buffalo chicken wrap with ranch, and it was done well. The service was great, our server was very kind and the food came out quickly. When they have live music, it does get quite loud so be aware of you have sensitive ears or wanted to do a lot of talking! Though I think other live music is only on certain days. read more

Pretty decent American fare. We haven't dined in but have grabbed takeout a few times. The chicken sandwich is fine, wish the chicken was a little crispier, but the spicy aioli and pickles added some nice flavor. We've also tried the steak bites, nachos, and a few of the salads. I ended up at this beautiful little establishment after going to the post office next door, and it was one of those unplanned experiences that made my day. I was drawn in by a sign outside advertising a buffalo chicken club, $12, and frankly $2.50 pints of light draft beer. The bar-staff was friendly, even letting me use the restroom with no commitment to dine in. I did, however, order both the buffalo chicken club as well as a pint. The buffalo chicken club was different than expected, with a hearty portion of thinly-sliced chicken, bacon, lettuce, and tomato. The buffalo flavor came from a buffalo dry seasoning, and while good once I added what seemed to be a house-made buffalo sauce for dipping the club became exceptional. The fries it was served with were also excellent and seasoned well. They have a small liquor store within the same premises, as well as numerous promotions and events throughout the week. I had remembered seeing that Heights 27 had a relatively high Yelp rating, and it was more divey than expected--it's like an upscale dive. read more

Been wanting to try this local place and finally convinced husband to go. Service was awful from the get go. Server forgot our drinks. Great revamp of the old bar that was here for years. Good food and drinks. Layout is a little more open and minimalist compared to the old place. New menu has some good choices. Burgers are exceptional here. One thing we hated about the old place was it always reeked of cigarette smoke when you walked in . People stand around the outside of the entrance puffing away and it just ruins your appetite walking in. I had hoped they would fix that with the revamp but its still the same old guys hanging outside, right at the door smoking away. Every time you open the door for people coming and going foul smelling smoke air wafts into the place. Reminds you of being in an old Atlantic city casino,but i digress. Would be a 5 star place if they could keep the smokers away from the entrance.(i get it, its a bar, people drink and used to smoke inside,but if you arent a smoker and are used to not ever smelling cigarettes in a restaurant, the smell here is in your face soon as you approach the front of the building. Heights 27 is a newly remodeled bar and restaurant in Spring Lake Heights NJ. The bar is large, with plenty of big-screen TV's. Also, they had a live, classic rock band on the Friday night we ate there. The band was good. The best thing about Heights 27 is the bar food. The offer upscale bar food with high-quality ingredients. We had hog wings for an appetizer. They are amazing. I had the crab cake sandwich as my meal, with fries. The crab cake was cooked perfectly, and the fries were hot and crispy. We enjoyed a great night of food, drinks, and music. I am glad to have this restaurant in Spring Lake. read more

A few young women in front greeted us warmly and our server Lena was friendly, attentive and informative. The Heights (perfect) Manhattan and Spring Spritz were wonderful. Wine is served by the glass only. We prefer a bottle but here is a package store inside so perhaps there is some regulation in place. We shared clam strips which may or may not have been made in house but delicious nonetheless. The tartar sauce was a bit watery. The appetizer of 3 Hog "Wings", actually pork with an interesting sauce, was unique and delicious. My husband and daughter both had lobster rolls which were really yummy without a lot of filler. Food - my girlfriend and I enjoyed nachos, she had a chicken Cesar salad and I had a burger. Both of us had the sangria, i had the red and she had the white which is not on the menu. I thought the nachos were great, only issue is we had chili on them and it had a little to much which made the chips soggy at the end. The salad was delicious, ordered it with crispy chicken. The burger I created my own with cheddar bacon bbq sauce, was Cooked perfectly. Service - our waitress was great, very personable gave good recommendations and attentive. This is your usual pub food and sometimes have live music and, of course, lots of TVs. There is also ample parking. The food is fine, what would you expect from a pub. The service though ruins the experience. There is one waitress that is absolutely rude and should be fired. I have seen several people complain about her but the manager failed to heed customer concerns. I came here for the first time with my wife and mother in law for lunch this past weekend. We sat out front because it was a nice day - when I looked inside it seemed like a great spot to sit at the bar and watch a yanks game. The demographic was a little older than other jersey shore bars which I thought was good (no fist pumping). There were folks seated at the bar and it seemed like a good time, it was clean and had a nice ambiance. Our waiter was friendly and the food came out in a well paced manner. We ordered the crab cake sandwich, chicken club sandwich and a chicken Caesar salad. All were well prepared and tasted great. The sandwiches were ideally sized portions and were not messy to pick up and eat like at other bars/restaurants I have been at previously. We will definitely plan on going back! read more
