This is a cozy local bar with great drinks and a friendly vibe. We stopped by The Dublin House after reading they served hot drinks, and we're really glad we did. We ordered hot toddys and Irish whiskey, and both were delicious & perfect for the weather and exactly what we were looking for. The bar had a local crowd feel; most of the patrons seemed to know each other, but they were welcoming and friendly. The service was quick as well. Pro tip: You don't have to rely on street parking there's more convenient parking behind the bar, which we didn't realize until we were already there. Overall, it was a great little spot to drop in for a drink, and we're looking forward to returning. Next time, we're definitely trying the food. read more

Situated in the heart of Red Bank this beautiful building/bar restaurant seemed to be the go to place. Bar area to the right is long, tastefully decorated and was packed with visibly intoxicated well dressed 30 somethings at 6 pm. The dining area both upstairs and downstairs was also packed. It's best to get a reservation if going in a Fri or Sat night. We had a reservation. Dimly lit, the dining room was decorated in traditional Irish pub style. No privacy as the table next to you was within arms distance. Menu is typical bar food. Fried foods and some Irish favorites. Burgers wraps, shepherd's pie etc. it's not the place for healthier meal choices by any stretch of the imagination. We got burgers, shared a salad and drinks. For starters- Wine was served in a filthy glass that had something random floating in it. Place was mobbed so it took 15 min just to get waitresses attention. She was apologetic and returned with a fresh drink. Food wasn't much better. We opted for burgers and salad. Burgers weren't good. Can't explain it- only that it looked good but was dry and tasteless and greasy - Ceasar salad had tiny strips of chicken and lots of dressing. Just ok. Honestly, Can't understand why it was so packed. Unless the steak house or Italian place near by was full and they needed a quick meal. You will also wait forever to get a refill on your drink, but after the wine incident, we opted for bottled beer. Safer bet. Overall, there was a lot of heavy drinking going on even in dining room even among the older crowds. Beautiful historical building but better to admire from afar than patronize. read more

I held a private event, celebration of life party for a loved one who passed away, in the upstairs of The Dublin House yesterday. I couldn't be happier with how the event turned out, thanks for Connor and Lisa making the day go off without a hitch. Connor made excellent food and greeted me before the event. Lisa took care of me from the first call I made inquiring about hosting my event there all the way through the final moment of closing up the party. I encourage anyone looking to host an event at a comfortable, fun, and inviting place to give Dublin House a call. Pleasantly surprised that on St. Patrick's Day at 5 pm we were able to be sat rather quickly and served equally as fast. Probably the best corn beef that I've had in a bunch of years AND there was NO wait for the bathroom. But by far Connor made the whole dinning experience , he was amazingly entertaining. We booked our company holiday party at the Dublin House and reserved the upstairs space...it was absolutely perfect. The room was beautifully decorated and comfortably accommodated our group of 50. We had a couple special dietary needs, and the owner, Conor, personally made sure they were taken care of, which was truly appreciated. Everyone loved the space, the food, and the overall vibe. Maria, the banquet manager, was fantastic and easy to work with from start to finish. We may have found our annual holiday party spot! read more

Dined here for the first time on September 14. Ordered their Cider and really enjoyed it. Waitress was friendly and outside seating was nice and the food portions big. However, I wasn't too happy with the meal. We ordered the potato skins and I ordered the Cobb salad. I found the potato's skins lacked flavor. It had cheese and bacon and still lacked flavor, how is that possible! The Cobb salad was huge but the chicken did not have any flavor at all and neither did the dressing. It tasted good when I took the other half home and doctored it up. I'll return for the cider. read more

Dublin House- a beautiful- quaint looking Irish mansion, the atmosphere is beautiful. THE SERVICE AND FOOD ANOTHER!!! This was my 2nd time there and 1st time ordering food. There was 6 of us and we went for dinner before a show at count Basie, we walked in and it was a little crowded so they told us to head upstairs and hangout at the bar till a table was ready- the 2nd floor wasn't not as crowded as the 1st, after about waiting 30 min and staring at empty tables my husband went back down to the hostess and checked in with her and when he told her there were 3 empty tables she said "ohh take one then". We sat ourselves at a empty but sticky table, our waiter came over in about 10 min- his attitude screamed i hate my job. drinks: each drink ordered took about 10 min to make, ok fine! not one drink was made correctly, its an Irish pub and you should know how to pour a Guinness correctly, another drink (i forgot the name) same drink two different size glasses the one in the smaller cup had a and black ant ki.d of thing on the straw! and 3rd drink some kind of sangria that was ALL juice, appetizers : we ordered Irish nachos to share it took about 20 min for them to come out and it was a plate of chips with a huge glob of sour cream and shredded cheddar cheese NOT MELTED it was ice cold and the chips seemed stale. dinner: French onion soup- cold and bland Guinness burger- bland and they forgot the cheese- ordered medium it was well done and it looked like the Irish bacon was ripped into 2 pieces and thrown on. Dublin burger- have they heard of salt and pepper at least, tasted bland overcooked as well- I asked for lettuce jalapenos American cheese- my lettuce came out before my burger and it came out soggy wet in a dish, the top of the bun was soggy, the jalapenos were fine (because they came out of a jar). Both burgers came with a pickle on the side- can you say mush- i took a bite and had to spit it right out it literal mush! and the French fries had NO salt they were ice cold and as hard as a rock!!! like they sat out all day, not even crunchy hard- a rock. Dublin house steak sandwich- 8oz shell steak on bread- again cold soggy bread and a giant piece of steak, NOT sandwich steak, you need a fork and knife to eat it. Sandwiches are handheld, how can you bite thru a thick cut steak between 2 pieces of bread. Shepard's Pie- this was still bland but had the most flavor, except the center was cold. Now, i know restaurants have there issues and you can over look somethings- maybe the service or even the food, but EVERYTHING about this experience at Dublin House was horrific, during out entire time there they never took one thing off of our table- we asked for the check and our app was still on the table, there was no manager around and our server could care less, making the entire experience horrible. Also, there was a table behind us that was seated after us- got there food before us, there table cleared and got there check all before us. my whole table chuckled when we over heard the other table say there food was no good!!! SO- the bill finally comes, we ask him to split it 3 ways "no problem" he takes our cards and places them down on an empty table and walks away to pick up a plate on another table!!!!! i got right up and took our cards- we live in a messed up world, someone else could of come and swiped 3 credit cards because of a careless server we brought it to his attention and he picked it up and put it in his apron pocket!! I will never recommend this place to anyone and i will advise that you do not go there. i wrote a novel :) but this was absolutely unacceptable you are an Irish pub in red bank- do better! read more

I visited the Dublin House with friends recently for drinks. We sat at the bar and it definitely had the fun, lively feel of an Irish pub. The building is super cool with a great exterior. The patio in front is nice for sitting outside in the summer, and there is a bar out back during nicer weather too. Inside, the decor and building definitely gives the feel of a historic Irish pub. It was a bit loud at the bar, but is to be expected at a place like this. They have a few tap selections, as well as drinks from the full bar. We didn't order food, but traditional Irish food are available, as well as other options. The bartender was attentive and got our drinks very quickly. It was a fun place to stop for drinks, and I would definitely come back! read more

To start out, we ordered beer and wine. I was a little disappointed that bread wasn't served. The four of us ordered shrimp jambalaya, teriyaki salmon over salad and steak and cheese. My salmon was just fair. I did taste the shrimp jambalaya and that was good. Service was outstanding. Our server was very bubbly and attentive. We saw people of all ages in the dining room. The restaurant has an inside and outside bar. The outside bar appeared very lively! The entire place is very clean. Overall, one doesn't come to The Dublin House for its food. Street metered parking is available (Good luck finding a spot on the street!) There is a metered parking lot in the back of the restaurant. The parking lot appears to be used by several businesses. Dublin house is such a Pretty touch of Ireland in south Jersey.My daughter love's the Irish Nacho's,once you eat one...The pretzel with mustard more like a honey mustard was my favorite and the cheese was ok.I had the half of roast chicken it was ok ,a bit fatty and sauce was a strange taste to me.My family had fish and mashed instead of chips that was cold, Sheppard's pie and steak sandwich was good.We sat outside which is a lot of fun! The floor had food on it and the ice tea was even weird.I just seriously think they're short staffed. read more

Happy Thursday Adventurers! I stopped in here after a yelp event for dinner since a few things on the menu looked appetizing. I ordered a glass of pepperwood, and the burrata tomato salad. I also ordered a bowl of the soup du jour (mushroom). I was pretty impressed by the soup due to the thicker consistency and rich taste. Normally I find restaurants will have a thinner version of the soup and it's not as hearty or fulfilling. Happy I ordered it to warm me up since I wasn't dressed for the chilly night. The burrata was a standard ball of deliciousness, the chopped tomatoes with roasted ones weren't the best. I think if they threw in a bit of balsamic glaze and onions or garlic this would be so amazing. I was expecting the bread to be crunchy and toasted but this was just warmed and mushy. Not the best texture to compliment the olive oil and burrata creaminess. Otherwise my waitress was really sweet and attentive. I've been here once before in the summer, I think I personally prefer the colder seasons for the inside bar. The entire room I was in was very well put together. The real fireplace in the wall was spectacular! The decor reminded me of an old study with dim lighting, the perfect photos to portray the history, and just enough holiday decorations to make it homey. I'll definitely be coming back, I often forget how lovely Red Bank is. read more

Myself and my boyfriend were in the The Dublin House last night and witnessed the inappropriate behavior displayed not only to the servers, but a total disregard and disrespect to the patrons trying to enjoy themselves sitting nearby. Everyone knows you don't talk politics nor religion in an Irish pub, and all 4 of you did, and I believe from your background, you definitely are aware of this unsaid rule, most people do, but your group of 4 ignored it. Then you had the audacity to verbally threaten physical harm to the owner, when he came straight to you to help the server, and who happens to be a lovely man whom everyone loves. He possesses so much charisma and never runs out of his fun banter, to patrons and staff, that most are a fan of, ..... and if you're not a fan, I believe that is on you. The owner came out to check on the situation. You not only embarrassed yourself, but also the other 3 fellows with you, and myself and my boyfriend agree that one of your group, obviously your son seems to be following in your footsteps. We noticed your yelp history, and you've bashed and given 1 star and negativity feedback to every place you've reviewed. I think your behavior was so inappropriate that you're lucky they didn't call the police. It is a lovely, quaint, and friendly restaurant, to which I've been going to for nearly 17 years, and a staple and landmark in the little city of Red Bank, which I call home. I think you got embarrassed by your inappropriate behavior being addressed, and you reacted, I think if anyone saw what myself and my boyfriend witnessed, anyone sane would ask you to take your post down. WE WERE THERE AND WITNESSED, the entire scene you caused. The point is a line that most mothers teach from birth, "if you have nothing nice to say, don't say it", instead you pounce on establishments like a tiger over the internet, rather than coming to an understanding with a man who was trying to alleviate the situation calmly. my family of 5 and I had the most enjoyable experience at the Dublin House last night! the food is all homeade and amazing!!! the Shepards Pie was to die for. Our Vegetarian loved the Caesar Salad as well the French Onion soup. yum! The ambiance is so authentic to an actual Irish pub and the historic building has been lovingly preserved. Went to eat here and we just ordered a few appetizers. The lemongrass and chicken dumplings were the best out of what we ordered. Would definitely recommend. Was not a huge fan of the cheesesteak egg rolls, they were ok, nothing spectacular. The Irish nachos again were ok, could have used more cheese. Service was a bit slow, but they became very busy while we were there. It wasn't busy when we arrived. Took forever to get the check processed and then the waitress didn't leave a pen, neither of us had one so BF had to go to hostess to get one. Wasn't overly noisy but tables are close together. Almost nothing good to say about this restaurant. First, everything seems to come out way too fast - which goes hand in hand that everything is cold, except for deep fried food. We started with the mozzarella half moons. Literally came out about 2 mins after ordering. They were quite dark. I bet they were fried earlier and sat under a heat lamp and thrown back in the frier for a minute before being out. They were actually the best thing we ate that night. Our entree's came out less than 5 minutes after ordering. How do you possible produce a shepards pie within 5 minutes? Once again... everything sits under a heat lamp. It was just room temp. Potatoes are kinda gross at room temp. My corned beef sandwich was beyond bad. Cold, dry and leathery. I had trouble swallowing it. I am not sure how it is possible to produce such bad corned beef. My wife's steak sandwich was bad. My other daughter had the best of the bunch. She had fried chicken (which looks like something from the freezer section of Shoprite) - at least it was hot - I think they throw the fried foods back in the frier for a minutes. The potatoes were room temp. There was a ton of food left over, but no one wanted to take it home. To make matter worse, I had 2 gift certificates I had purchased at Costco. They came back and said that one of them had a zero balance - even though the cards sat in my night table drawer and this was the first (and last) time I have been here. Either the restaurant screwed up or someone is stealing. However, my rating doesn't reflect this - the food is that bad. Maybe if they could figure out how to make food to order, it would be ok. We have yet to have a bad experience... the French toast grilled cheese and the cane high hop ale is our go to order here! We highly recommend Dublin House. Also, the ambiance is so comfy and cozy. We ate at the Dublin House Red Bank with a party of 3. upon seating received water , eating utensils / napkins and wait staff took our drink order. We then ordered an appetizer and our meals. Received our drinks in less than 10 minutes. about 15 minutes later the Appetizer of mozzarella sticks arrived - appetizers were extremely greasy with fryer grease film on the serving plate. Our meals arrived approximately 15 minutes later. Diner #1 corned beef sandwich. sandwich was not good- dry corned beef looked over cooked or old meat. French fries - cold - fryer oil on the plate. Really not very good by my opinion. Diner# 2 - cheese burger -ordered medium. burger was extremely rare bordering raw in center - middle. french fries cold . Diner #3 Dublin burger cooked medium. burger was well done and overcooked. unknown opinion of French fries. After sampling our meals and all agreeing that our food was not to our liking we asked our server to speak with a manager concerning our food. We were informed that no manager was on duty. We then spoke with another server and explained our complaint about the food. The second server adjusted our guest check and two of the highest cost meals were removed from the bill. We appreciate that courtesy from the that staff member , the restaurant and their agreement concerning the food which we were served. if the Dublin house owner(s) read these reviews, please consider mine. Your establishment looks like a great restaurant but our food was not served as ordered and returned. Our wait staff server appeared inattentive or inexperienced. When eating out, we spend money and tip wait staff , when the food and service are good to excellent. In our case we did pay for one meal, two rounds of drinks and left a tip for our server. Much later, in a review response from the Dublin House, we were made aware that the regular chef is experiencing a serious health condition, undergoing Leukemia Treatment and did not prepare our food. We were offered a complementary meal but we decline, as we will not be back to Red Bank in the foreseeable future. We wish the chef a speedy recovery. read more

We popped in for an impromptu lunch as we were walking by. Due to Covid, we sat outside. They have a very nice outdoor setup. Service was good, but then again it wasn't crowded that day. We had a cheeseburger with fries- very good Cesar salad with grilled shrimp- shrimps were cooked well, the lettuce was a bit wilted in some parts but overall a good salad.
