I've never wanted to cry more than being told my incredible pain in my ear, is nothing. I tried to explain that whether or not it's red, I am in horrible pain. I even asked, if it's not an infection what could it possibly be, a shrug is not the answer I'm looking for. Beyond the lack of any sort of further investigation, she was super mean about it. I feel very genuinely belittled. I gave three because every other staff member besides Anita was so kind and caring. Front desk workers, the guy who did the initial. Anita, if you are seeing this, it's okay to hate your job and be overwhelmed and tired, it's NOT okay to be mean. I hope you can understand that.

I had my surgery rescheduled at my request so I could have time to care for my dad as he's not been well. I was unable to return the call to schedule labwork, I reached out to the scheduling to clarify a few things regarding my not scheduling the labwork and to explain a few concerns I had. Central scheduling cancelled my appointment with the surgeon for pre-surgery weight check, ignored my provided information about my shunt, kept saying they would have to send me to another hospital because I'm ONE POUND over the weight limit, and also called this hospital by the old name, thus sending me to the wrong website to a hospital 2 hours from my home when they really mean one 30 minutes from me that is under a new name. I write to the office to try and clear this up, I get a reply of "Surgery cancelled at your request" and they did not address ANY of the concerns I laid out in my message to the office. So now I have no surgeon for my gallbladder, all thanks to a lousy office that can't respect the fact their patients can't always call back right away. The lab work wasn't required until 2 weeks before surgery, they called me 4 weeks before hand, for lab work that could change in two weeks time. Premier was willing to work with me on my schedule for a previous surgery, without any of this mess. So thanks for nothing, Kettering.

Yes, they were somewhat busy but while waiting nearly 3 hours in the outer waiting area, only 1 patient was discharged. Finally after a 3-hour wait, I was taken to a room where I sat for another hour with absolutely no one coming in. I heard a nurse telling someone (doctor?) that another patient was saying he was going to leave and that person (doctor?) said "Oh well, we only have one doctor on the floor and we are doing the best we can so if they want to leave let them, I don't care". After an hour in the back with no interaction, I told a clerical worker that I would probably just be going. I heard that person interact with the same lady and she once again said "He can leave. Let him. I don't care!". I got ready to leave without being seen by anyone and a worker said "Please wait while I find your nurse". So I did. No one ever showed up. So after 4 hours, I had not been seen by anyone and so I left. Walked out of my room, past the staffed nurses station and no one said anything. When I got to the lobby I told the ladies I was leaving and, to their credit, they said they were sorry. Not sure why they only had one doctor but that is their problem, not the patients. If they were unable to staff properly they should have shut it down and only took ambulatory patients. Also, I went to Kettering because their website said they had a 51 minute wait. 4 hours later I walked out without seeing anyone. If your times are not correct, don't put them out there. I arrived 20 minutes after seeing the 51 minute wait time so, no, it did not "fill up" until after I got there. All in all I can understand some issues, but the "I don't care, let them leave" attitude given was unacceptable. I won't be going back.

However the treatment from the Cath Lab and DrChoudary was very disappointing. A Nurse named Chris in the Cath Lab should be trained in compassion and care for the family and the pt. He came after me agressively in a waiting room because I wanted to speak to my wife since no one would communicate with me after her procedure. He has no place in the hospital. He should work on a Hog farm where he can herd animals rather than treat Patients the way he did. There were two employees on 4 east that were lazy and did not do what they needed to do. My advice to you is go elswhere this hospital has lost my confidence!

had to get blood work done for my 1 week old newborn and they told me they weren't doing a heel…read moreprick, but using a needle and getting the blood from his arm and using an adult size tube that they needed to fill. at the end she wasn't able to get a lot of blood and kind of admitted that she didn't know what she was doing when it came to drawing blood from newborns. this week we needed to get them redone and went elsewhere and were told that since he is so young, they weren't supposed to use a needle and draw from his arm. so they completely didn't know what they were doing and i will never be going there again, i will take the drive and go elsewhere every single time.

The staff is outstanding and caring including doctors, techs and support staff. You don't get a bunch of students working on you like other area hospitals. We have never had to wait long for examination. The hospital is clean and waiting areas comfortable. Parking is easy. The one thing I don't like is their mobile check-in system. In fact, I think it is the worst check in system in the country. I resent having to upload personal information through a 3rd party web site. I despise not being able to adjust the contract that they force you to sign before treatment. I only took off one star, but I would rate the mobile check in a zero star.

Excellent ER. AIDS and nursing staff on 2nd floor don't wear badges. Too many bad things to listread more
