Unless you can re-arrange your life expect to be several months out--as in at the time of your next cleaning. As a professional myself if I have to late cancel someone due to unforeseen circumstances I make sure to go above and beyond to accommodate a re-schedule that is convenient for the person because I value the time they set aside. I guess I should always remember that not everyone has that same level of professionalism.

I got a return call at 7:15 this morning, was in their chair at 9 AM, and was done with a new crown at 11:15 AM. After going at least twice a year for 8 years, I've always been treated exceptionally well. I had requested a specific after care treatment for my Invisilign treatment, which I started in 2016, shortly after they opened this office. My latest appointment with Dr. Ferraro was a disgrace. Someone who was always pleasant and professional in the few years after I started my care, was unexpectedly rude, argumentative, defensive, and combative. My requests for care were continually ignored and when I tried to discuss my issues this past week, I was met with a combative conversation with a lack of proper record keeping and lack of care or understanding for my situation. The red flags have been popping up for some time, and this was the final incident. High turnover and temporary employees, lack of other patients in the building at prime office hours, and the off putting demeanor of both doctors is unacceptable and a sign that the office is not at the caliber that it should be. This hygienist tried to tell me I have poor dental health, need extensive cleaning and antibiotics, fillings, and sealants amounting to about $1000. They refused to do a routine cleaning saying that I needed a special deep clean. She even exclaimed "uh oh" while doing my gum exam, so unprofessional. My gums hurt the rest of the day because she pushed and poked so hard. That has never happened to me at any other dental appointment. All of this seemed totally out of no where since I am young, and have seen a regular dentist every 6 months my entire life. Anyway, I left and didn't even get a routine cleaning. I went and got a second opinion at my regular dentist and they agreed that is all unnecessary and over the top. I do not have any cavities, I do not need filings or a deep clean, no antibiotics necessary. My regular dentist said I have great teeth and am doing a great job. Four Lakes Family Dentistry really felt like a scam and the hygienist and dentist made me feel really awful, like I hadn't been taking care of my teeth at all and that is not the case. Each room is set up like a pretty standard dental office, very clean. On my first visit, they told me they like to do a full set of x-rays just to get an idea of what my teeth are like overall, but my insurance didn't cover for a full set. So they told me they will still do the full x-ray set, but just write it as whatever my insurance will cover, and they will cover the remaining cost. How great is that?!? The staff is wonderful and courteous, also very punctual. I'm never waiting in the waiting room for more than 5 minutes. The cleanings are done nice and quickly, I'm in and out in less than an hour. Dr. Vaandehaar is great! He always makes suggestions for me to consider, but is never pushy about getting anything done that isn't absolutely necessary. For example, when I had a cavity, he obviously strongly recommended that I take care of it asap. But when it came to some preventative things, he told me what was going on, and what some options are and said it's something to think about. The only complaint that I have is, they do send A LOT of appointment reminders via email and text, multiple times leading up to your appointment. Yes, you can totally opt out of it, so I guess this is really on me. Also, TDC is the only place that staff actually came in and sang happy birthday to me during my cleaning. It was so sweet!
