Everyone seemed very eager to help and made th process smoothe. We liked the open concept because we were able to see the care provided not only to our dog but to the other pets as well. All of the staff worked as such a great team, and the communication between them seemed flawless. We were seen by Dr. Majors, and our tech was Hannah. Both of them were very reassuring and treated Florence like their own. VEG is a very pet family oriented vet, seeing us as a whole and not just a couple people with an animal. When it came time for the price, we were met with such nice transparency, and the DVM was honest with what she recommended and did not try to make us agree to anything that was unnecessary while also making sure we had the option to take all the tests if we so desired. I would absolutely recommend this emergency vet. We have been to another in Carrollton which did not come close to the level of care we experienced here. Thank you!

Although I kept repeating that this is not a foreign body as this is the 3rd time it's happened in the last 6 months! They weren't listening to anything that I said! No compassion. No warmth. No answers! They threw a bill in my face before even discussing a plan! I had to pay in advance for treatments that hadn't been done and didn't even start for about an hour into the visit! Was there for 6+ hours to have everything blamed on how long the radiologist was taking. Personal conversations complaining about clients, vet techs using their phones while patients needed attending to, eating their food next to the triage table! At the end of my 1,500 visit I had more concerns for my kitty than I did before I even walked in the door. When it was come time to be discharged the tech that was assisting us left without letting anyone know what was going on and they just looked really dysfunctional. The doctor didn't even acknowledge us as we walk out. Not even a you're welcome to our thank you! Unprofessional, unorganized, no compassion or care about the clients or patients. I would never recommend this hospital even if it was the last place on earth! Update: Two days later. Called and spoke to Cheyenne about our experience. Felt heard, felt compassion and felt true concern about myself and my kitty. She advised she would call me back. Instead Dr. Hoge called me back and was very apologetic and showed a great deal of concern for our experience. I believe that the team we had this horrific encounter with creates a bad name for this ER and for the veterinary field as a whole. I appreciate the sincere apology I received by management and wanted to add that to my review. They both showed care and compassion and that is what it's all about. If I had walked in the door when they were there I would have had a totally different visit and my kitty would have been taken care of! They are what makes veterinary practice great!

We believed she had passed on the car ride over, but when we arrived they took her to the back and Dr. Echevarria came to us and said she had a faint heartbeat. We said we wanted to hold her while she passed, and Dr. Echevarria proceeded to disappear for 15 minutes, leaving us in a room while our dog passed alone without us by her side. While this was happening, we were obviously very distressed, asking every employee we saw what was going on and where our dog was. When we finally saw Dr. Echevarria, we asked for our dog so we could hold her, she told us very rudely "we have other patients" and turned away. I cannot believe how heartless and uncompassionate these people are here. I would NEVER ever ever step foot in this place if you are in the vulnerable position of having your dog be at the end of their life. Dr. Echevarria stole our dog from us, stole that moment of being with her as she passed from us, then was rude to us on top of it. Her staff was apologizing to us for her attitude, blaming it on her having worked a long shift, but there is no excuse for what she did to us and our precious dog. She didn't even deserve to have touched my precious baby, let alone keep her from us when she needed us most. I will forever remember this doctor as being one of the most evil people I have ever encountered. DO NOT GO NEAR THIS PLACE.

Please read my entire experience if you care about your pets well being. I brought my dog in for a fractured tooth and paid $135 for an exam for what was essentially a 20 second glance at his mouth. Without any meaningful examination, I was immediately told he needed to be put under anesthesia just so they could "properly assess" the tooth for a possible extraction. Then came the estimate: around $1,600, not including required bloodwork mind you. With bloodwork, the total was close to $1,900 before tax. Thankfully, I trusted my instincts and sought second opinions from two other veterinarians. Yes TWO. Both told me the fracture was minor, did not currently require extraction, and simply advised monitoring for pain or infection. Weeks later, my dog is doing completely fine and I'm very happy. What's upsetting is that I was pressured toward an expensive, invasive procedure that multiple other vets agreed was unnecessary. As a pet owner, you trust veterinarians to prioritize your animal's wellbeing, not push costly treatments prematurely. And most of all, not examine him thoroughly but charge me $135? Please...can you imagine having your baby lose his tooth over a money hungry vet for no reason? I strongly encourage others to get a second opinion before agreeing to major procedures here. It seems like profit was being prioritized over ethical care.

I prayed to god the night before for wise counsel, and the Lord sent it to me via Dr. Miller. I felt bad for taking up so much of his time when there were other families waiting in rooms, but I needed the generous gift of Dr. Miller's time to navigate the difficult choice of ending Apple's life, the compassion he showed me (never abandoning me) while making it. When you enter BluePearl, a triage nurse meets you at the door to sweep your fur baby up, immediately start taking vitals, and get their arms around the situation. They send you to a room to wait. Yes, you wait. But while you're waiting, they are gathering information so that when it comes your time to see the vet, it's not a 5min swoop in and out, they spend time to walk you through observations, gather more details, and help you navigate difficult conversations if end-of-life is required. This is exactly what you want in an emergency vet.

The lesson I learned this time is that the true character of a business isn't revealed when everything goes right. It's revealed when something goes wrong. My situation started with a grooming appointment. The Korean cut I requested wasn't what I received. However, that was not my biggest concern. A really bad grooming job grows back, and I could have easily laughed that off and moved on. What I couldn't overlook was that my tiny 5lb Maltese had a puncture wound (the size of a pencil tip eraser) under her chin and a belly covered in abrasions (guessing from hot clippers). When I got home and discovered the injuries, I emailed TMP immediately. I expected: concern for her well-being and a sincere effort to make things right. Instead, I got a lengthy email about "miscommunication" regarding the grooming. I got an apology. What I didn't get was the one thing I was looking for: genuine human concern for my injured dog. Accidents happen. A mistake and owning it does not automatically lose a customer. The solution was never complicated. A simple acknowledgment (regardless of how it happened). My tiny dog came home hurt and that mattered. A refund as a gesture of respect. Before writing this review, I posted this scenario online in a small dog group. I asked a few simple questions: Would you be upset by these injuries? Is "sorry for the miscommunication" enough? Should a refund be offered? Would you return? The majority of the people who responded to the survey are dog lovers, breeders, rescue shelter owners, show dog handlers, vets and professional groomers who unanimously agreed that they would be upset and that they would not return. Several professionals commented that while accidents can happen, transparency and accountability matter. One comment stood out above all the others: "When I read the salon's response, I don't see a groomer saying, 'I'm concerned about Tina.' I see a business saying, 'You can't prove this was us.'" That perfectly captured what I had been struggling to put into words for this review. David Vargas from TMP responded to that online post. Instead of empathy, there were disclaimers. Instead of a heartfelt attempt to make things right, there was a carefully crafted argument about why I shouldn't feel the way I do. He accused me of painting the business in a bad light. No. I simply described what happened and how it was handled. When your instinct is to defend your reputation instead of showing concern for an injured animal, the picture pretty much paints itself. This experience was extremely upsetting for my family, traumatic for our Tina, and I worry about her demeanor when I take her to a new groomer. She's such a tiny baby and to minimalize our situation has been heartbreaking. Our pets rely entirely on us to protect them and on the professionals caring for them to uphold the trust placed in their hands. For all animal lovers, that trust is sacred. One of the most concerning things I discovered after this experience was The Mutt Puddle's liability policy. Their policy (search for it online) states; that pet owners assume all responsibility when leaving their pets in the salon's care and that The Mutt Puddle and its staff will not be held responsible for injuries, deaths, medical bills, clipper burns, cuts, stress-related issues, or nearly any other problem that may arise during grooming. Reading this after my little girl was injured helped me understand why David Vargas response was defensive .. rather than showing (on a case by case basis) concern for my dog and respect for me as a valuable client. I understand that policies exist BUT they should protect everyone involved, not one sided AND they should never replace compassion, responsibility, and concern for an animal's well-being. New and existing customers should read their policies carefully and decide for themselves whether that reflects the kind of care they want for their pets. We've lost complete trust in The Mutt Puddle and will not go back. They have taught me the difference between customer service and reputation control. Good luck with that business model.
