I have been patronizing this business for decades. I stopped in for a battery replacement for my watch, and to have the band adjusted. It was adjusted free of charge. I came back about a month later to have it re-adjusted, and it was taken care of, again, as a complimentary service. I came back again several months later for a re-adjustment , and a different sales rep. was present. When I asked to have the adjustment, He looked at me almost like I was an intruder, and then my watch, and then said in a blunt and somewhat intimidating way "twenty dollars". I said it was taken care of free of charge last time, and he said " No. We don't do that. We don't even carry that brand . It's twenty dollars". I was quite surprised at the attitude of this person, and asked to talk to management. He said " OK, but he'll just tell you the same thing". So, a fella with grey hair came out from the back room with the meanest and nastiest look on his face, and a glare in his eyes that made me wonder if he was all right. He also told me, in an extremely angry and intimidating way ,"We don't do that!". I told him that it was already adjusted two times this year, complimentary, and he said, "No it wasn't!", and then I said, calmly, "Yes, it was." He asked when, and I told him , and again , he said "No it wasn't!". Then he asked who the sales rep. was, and when I described the person , he said angrily, " That's my NEPHEW!". WOW!! OK, well, I didn't come here to argue, so I wished him well, and stopped in to a local competitor, where they happily adjusted the band free of charge. It really helps to be courteous to people. Now, I have a new jeweler to give my business to. Geez. If only I could give a -0 rating. 1 star is just to generous. I live in the same neighborhood. There's a good reason his parking lot is usually empty. Thoughts of retirement should definitely be given high priority here. read more

I wish I could give Stadler's less than one star. Bought from them for years. Went in with a pearl ring I've been wearing for 22 years. They worked on it, replaced a baguette. Picked up the ring before Christmas. Wore it during the day, took off while cleaning. Pearl fell out. Went back to Stadler's and was told it's my fault and they're not responsible. I spent over $700 on this ring and they stood there and told me I was rough on the ring. Two men harangued me until I could do nothing but walk out with tears in my eyes. I will never go back there and am letting all my friends (who love jewelry!) to go elsewhere. Shame on you, Stadlers. read more

Stopped by Stadler's Jewelers with a watch owned by my late father to attempt a cleaning and repair. The young lady at the counter took it to the back workroom to ask if it could be repaired. She returned in seconds saying that "He can't get parts" Did a bit of an online search, found another repairman, he restored it in less than two weeks and it runs great. Stadler's was out several hundred dollars and a future customer. read more

Came here for advice about sizing an order of custom sentimental wedding rings from the UK. The guy flat out refused to size us since we went getting the rings from them. He was very rude and condescending. Since we were order special rings from over seas that meant something special to us and not ordering from he he had no time for us. Because of the way thus man treated us we ordered other wedding jewelry from a different local shop. I would rather not have any more jewelry even then give this shop one dime in the future. With the vast amount of chain stores and cheap jewelry online I would think that local shops would do to get and keep new customers not drive them away. read more

I needed a necklace fixed and stopped in to see if they could help me. The woman at the counter was so friendly and nice. I did not buy the piece from them but they were more than willing to try to fix it. It is an unusual shade of gold which is hard to find but they said they would try to find the needed part. I was presented with an estimate on the spot (very reasonable). And good advice not to sleep in the necklace as the chain is very fine and that is when most accidents happen. Who Knew! They are a very well established and managed local jewelry store who can make repairs, special order items and provide professional, certified, signed and dated appraisals, in additions to offering a wide selection of quality items. Their staff is friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. They are happy to special order items, even inexpensive pieces, and can show you catalogs of items that may suit you. They silver plated (at a very reasonable price) an inexpensive pair of earrings I happen to love and they came out beautifully. If only there was an option for zero stars. I had an engagement ring made for my wife here that consisted of 4 family diamonds 1 large and 3 small. I asked for a size 5. When my fiancé put it on for the first time it was huge. He has made it a size 8 and claimed that I had made the mistake. A year and a half later 2 of the small diamonds have fallen out of the setting and the large diamond has come loose to the point of being able to spin it in the setting on two different occasions. Each time we spoke he refused to take any blame. We have since moved on and had it worked on by another jeweler. I would urge anyone to stay away from this hack, going to him was a huge mistake. read more

I went there to repair a Movado watch. We we told (by owner Nick) they could replace the hinge & spring and it would be "good as new". I am so disappointed in the work that was done. The band is as uneven and wiggly as when I brought it in. The other owner, Henry, said they replaced the spring but not the hinge and" this is the best that can be done". If cost me almost $100 for a spring. With the misinformation, bad customer service and lousy repairs I will NEVER go back. My entire brief encounter began nicely enough, but was a complete let down in the end. I would never recommend this Jeweler to anyone. It took me one more stop after this to find another very professional jeweler to offer just what I needed without a second thought. After slightly damaging my engagement ring by catching it on something and bending the outer halo, one of my tiny diamonds fell out. I began looking for a reputable local jeweler who does repairs, as I like to support local businesses as much as possible. After hearing about Stadler's Jewelry from my sister-in-law, I decided to look into it and found some great reviews. I went in just looking for an estimate and what I got was disappointment. The woman who helped me was nice, however the jeweler, with whom I never spoke, relayed the message to me that it would be "very expensive" to fix the tiny bend because it would cause all the other prongs in the halo to come loose, thereby compromising the other tiny diamonds. I may have the wrong impression, but as far as I know jewelers who do repairs and ever commonplace sizing are generally trained to handle such things. Of course they are going to have to check all the prongs, that is the job. Furthermore, to be told to take my ring back to the manufacturer ( we bought it online through a reputable site that has a 90 warranty and does not do repairs ) without even giving me an estimate, and simply refusing to work on it because the work is not worth your time is not only unprofessional, it is presumptuous and rude. Sending the message through your sales person when there is no body else in the store, instead of simply taking a moment to come out and explain the what and why, is tacky. I will not be going back, as it was made very clear that my business wasn't good enough. read more
