Former owners of the once awesome Konfusion food truck, and then eatery, on University of Oregon campus have now opened one of the coolest places in town. They had us at Pulled Pork Tacos. Brisket tacos. BBQ Chicken Sandwich. Housemade bbq beans. Fresh buns and pineapple potato slaw. Platters of macaroni and cheese. The list goes on and on... Open mic. Line dancing. Live music on weekends. Dance floor. Jukebox and couches. Great beer line-up and full bar. Outfricking standing. Many, many thanks for drumming up a bar - no, saloon - that gets it right on every point. Service: check! Clean: check and check!! Friggin delish eats? Hail yeah!! Whoop whoop. Will return.

    Jalapeño infused vodka shot

Great place to go have a drink and good food. Their taco Tuesday is pretty good as well. I really enjoy the jalapeño infused vodka. They have some drink specials that include the jalapeño vodka, but I like it as a straight shot. The staff is super cool and friendly. The bar is nice and clean and the renovations were done right. They do have a small stage for bands to play and it's really fun to go watch live music. (The COVID-19 issue has put that on hold)

    Pulled pork nachos

I am writing this as I wipe the tears of joy away from my face brought on by memories of a certain place that was near and dear to me but unfortunately no longer around. This place to me is as a rebirth of a Phoenix as it rise again from the ashes, but this time with a smoker and Country swagger, instead of a Korean Mexican one ! I ordered the pulled pork nachos without hesitation because if they were similar to what I remembered I was in for a treat. I waited patiently, because patience is a virtue and true art takes time. They did finally come and I was giddy with happiness from seeing the heaping mountain of chips covered in a golden cheese and dark red bbq sauce with a heaping amount of piggy and jalapeno rings goodness on top as it was put in front of me. A picture was taken and deconstruction was started. Even though it looks like so many ingredients put together everything worked well together and was left not disappointed. The pulled pork was done with perfection and was moist and packed with flavor. I am glad to see that even though different I have found my new spot and a new usual favorite. The service was also great and I must say that you should definitely give this place a chance and that you won't regret it!

    Prime rib special

I am so excited to have a clean, friendly, establishment such as this place that also serves delicious food. I really love what they have done with this place. I can't wait until they bring in some bands to play on the weekend nights. I follow them on FB, and see they do tri tip specials on Tuesday evenings around 5:00 pm. They have also had line dance lessons, I am not sure if this is a weekly thing or not. Tonight being a Thursday, was a prime rib special. They have several large screen TV's to watch, they offer a video poker machine room, and very friendly service. I showed up on opening night, had the pulled pork sandwich. It was delicious. It came with the curly fries, and fry sauce. WOW! Yumm! My Son wanted lunch the other day so we decided to come in, he had the peanut butter bacon pickle burger. I was indecisive, everything sounded great, I honestly wanted the tri tip, but it wasn't ready until later on at 5:00. Shawn suggested the gyro. So I went with that. If any of you have had the Kyro's at Kunfusion...you will love the gyro here. I tried bites of my Son's burger, OMG! I am going to have to say the best peanut butter bacon pickle burger!! Order it, you won't regret it! My gyro was the bomb!! Had the prime rib this evening! Once again, very impressed! I am not surprised. If any of you have loved the food at Kunfusion, you will know the passion Shawn puts into the food. Follow the Twisted River FB for updates on their specials, also I had seen a possible pop up Kunfusion cart at the Twisted River, so it would be worth following them, or stopping in and giving the Saloon a try. It is definitely worth it. Friday night, Country DJ dance party. Not sure if that is an every Friday night thing.

I ordered the Country Fried Steak with poached eggs and gravy on the side (because I planned on taking half home and wanted to preserve the breading on the steak). The panko coating on the steak had me intrigued, but it was great! The hashbrowns were pretty tasty, although they could have been crispier. The biscuit was decent, but the flavor of the gravy and the steak brought it all together. The quality reminded me of another sports bar here in Bend that has really good breakfast/brunch foods. I can't really speak to the other dishes but my wife and daughter were very happy with their French Toast and Waffle. I'd def stop back in if I was in the area.

He hasn't quite nailed consistency yet, but it's clear he's trying. After my original experience, I wasn't sure I wanted to return. But I happened to see him advertising for a new chef not too long after, and I figured that was a good time to try again. I still love that he supports other small businesses, like the butcher shop next door, the bakery across the street, and my favorite brewery in Corvallis as well. Nothing makes me happier than seeing small business supporting each other. I have a complete love affair with their tacos every Tuesday, and my inner fat kid craves them constantly. Friday, my husband and I went in for the prime rib special. It is a 12 ounce prime rib, baked potato, and chowder or salad for $25. We also enjoyed an amazing beer from Block 15, which is like my favorite brewery ever. Service is great, I've never had a complaint there. The owner is always there working, everybody working works. The owner and chef both bring food out if the bartender is busy. It's clear nothing sits and waits. Everything is everyone's job, and I have huge respect for that. I am really glad I decided to give Twisted Duck another try, because every experience gets better and better, and I'm always happy to see a small business growing and becoming very successful.

I had The Monkey's Paw classic drink and another in our party had The Invisible Man drink. Each was lovingly prepared by the bartender who was super cool with the prep and conversations we had with him. I loved walking around and looking at all the decor on the walls and ceiling.
