This is a breakfast place? I'm only discovering that right now; we went there for dinner! :D Strolled around Temple Bar to look for a rather relaxed location for some food on new year's eve before the party. Stage Door Café happened to be what we were looking for. Friendly waiter gave us a nice little booth and super-friendly chef Al came along to inform us that there was no menue that night but only two dishes to choose from: Pork or Beef. Opted for the Beef, simply delightful! Great cooking at a reasonable price. Decoration and atmosphere are great, very cozy. Al is such a nice guy, joined us at the table from time to time to see if we enjoyed our stay. Finished with a whisky on the house and some great advice for must-see-dublin-locations. I noticed they served delicious-looking cakes to other guests, unfortunately there was no room left for desserts on my end :D Check this place out, i'm sure you won't be dissapointed! read more

We wandered in here for breakfast on New Year's Day. It's a small place, but the gentleman running the place (who seemed to be owner/host and helped the chef in the kitchen a bit too) was very kind and welcoming. I ordered the traditional Irish breakfast and it was awesome. I mean, it seriously hit the spot after being out late ringing in the New Year. There is a lot of artwork containing male nudity on the wall, which was a little awkward/distracting, and it was cash only while we were there, necessitating a trip to the ATM (apparently the credit card machine was only temporarily broken). Otherwise, this was a great breakfast/brunch spot. read more

The atmosphere is great, it reminds me of those slightly manky french brasseries you'd find hidden away in a small street. The food was tasty but had a 'questionable' twang to it, which I like sometimes. The staff was exceptionally friendly and naturally familiar. I would definitely come back for the atmosphere, not for the food! read more

It's a handy spot due to location, so I have been here a couple of times purely out of convenience and the Joy of Cha was closing for the day (Real dearth of cafes staying open past 6/7pm in Dublin - even in the summer!) Re service we've always had to walk up to the counter to order instead of anyone coming up to the table. Even at the counter we weren't acknowledged for a good 5 mins before we placed orders. Had tea and apple pie. Apple pie was OK, the usual mediocre stuff and the tea is fine too. The place is very cute though, lovely brick walls and open windows. But that's about it. read more

I like The Stage Door, it has a bit of Parisian feel to it , and the erotic artwork is interesting to say the least, but not a huge fan of the prices. The ciabattas cost about seven euro, which I think is a bit cheeky, as while quite nice, I don't think you can justify the cost. Had the carrot cake which was moist and sweet, but again, for 4.50 you were given a mean slice. Staff are lovely, and if I was to go out to tea with my mother or sister, I would certainly bring them here, but unfortunately, just too expensive to make it a regular occurrence. read more

Best breakfast I have ever had. The white coffee comes with a huge helping of homemade whipped cream. The owners were so inviting and welcoming. The food was incredible. I had the brie, bacon, and tomato open faced sandwich and my boyfriend had the Irish breakfast. Both were phenomenal. Highly recommend! read more

This is a good traditional Irish breakfast. The menu isn't fancy but that's usually a good thing. I had the Irish breakfast, and it was done "proper" as they say here. Alan the Chef and assume owner of the place is super nice and chill. He's full of good information about the area too. He does have one rule when you eat at his place, don't worry he'll tell you. I heard the Irish coffees are good here too. I can vouch for the latte. read more

The best breakfast and Irish coffee in all of Dublin, possibly all of Ireland!! Al (the owner) is one of the most hospitable and generous human beings I've ever met in my life. Not only were his recommendations for the menu genius, but so were his suggestions for events, pubs, tours, and more! The Irish Breakfast is amazing, but nothing compares to their "Sexy BLT". Hands down this BLT was the best thing I ate in my 10 day stay in Ireland. And yes, that includes ribeye from a very well known steak house, fish and chips from Howth, and everything else. This place is just cute as a button. Let me tell you, the employee Alan, made the whole experience incredible. He is so charismatic and fun- makes you feel right at home. Great location, intriguing decor, & the breakfast was delicious and hearty. The coffee is good, as is the service. Highly recommend if you are looking for quick, filling bite and a smile. read more

The wife really wanted to experience an Irish breakfast while we were in Dublin. She chose to Stage Door Café and she made a great choice. The restaurant itself is surprisingly small but we were luckily seated right away. Our server was REALLY friendly. Like the most friendly person we've interacted with here. The guy (red bearded guy) just seems like a genuinely nice guy. The food was excellent. There was a lot to the Irish Breakfast but not overwhelmingly so. And there was something about that bread and butter that was SO good. Highly recommended for the service, food, and amazingly foamy latte. read more

this is an overdue review. i had breakfast here in February and it was excellent. server was beyond friendly - really charismatic, and made me feel like a regular customer even though it was my first time eating here. the food was great - i had the full breakfast of eggs, beans, toast, sausage, etc. all excellent and very satisfying. if i get another chance to see Dublin, i will definitely be getting breakfast here again. 10/10 read more

Amazing little place with great coffee and super cool, funny and sexy staff, they are Italian and ooze that cool passionate vibe as soon as you walk in the door, especially through their big welcoming smiles. This place is cosy and has no wifi on purpose in order to get people to talk to each other. This place really is a little gem and their cakes and muffins and cookies are scrummy. The décor is quirky and lovely and even a trip to the toilet is a delightful discovery. But maybe I will scrap this review because I don't want loads of people to rush here as I really enjoy curling up on the seats with a book and enjoying the chill and great vibe. read more

What a lovely way to start the New Year! As soon as you enter you feel like you're entering someone's home. The menu is small, but it's perfect (especially for a hangover). The place is ran by the owner and the cook - that's it. The owner takes your order and handles the front of the house. He's great. Super friendly and fun. The food is simple, but it is done right. Great selection of coffees. Overall, great Irish breakfast. (just be aware - the artwork is a bit racy :)) read more

I ordered my drink to go but it was still presented with great art and a smile. Told me where the sugar and lids were but suggested I tried it before i added anything, that the espresso is very good. I tasted it and said, "You are right, needs nothing" and it didn't. BEST LATTE I HAVE HAD THIS TRIP TO DUBLIN. I am breaking my own rule here, I can because they are my rules, they don't roast but they use fantastic local Micro-roasted beans and prepare my drink to perfection. Just visited this burger joint and boy, did it blow my mind. Juicy, very tasty, and cooked just right up to perfection as I like it. Fresh ingredients stood out most and one could tell that the meat was of good quality. The staff was nice and hospitable, which was pretty cool. The ambiance of the restaurant itself is nice and cozy; it's a kind of perfect ambiance to have a casual relishing dinner with your closed ones. Fries were nice and crispy, good enough to relish with the burgers. There were so many different kinds of sauces; they made it more enjoyable to try all those flavors.
